I’m seeking help with my mortgage. Three years ago I managed to work from being homeless to finally getting a home for 60,000$. My mom helped me with the down payment because I’m a survivor of domestic violence and she helped me escape. Two years ago my mom was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I am now in the position of helping her, my son and myself. I live in a small town and it’s difficult to find help here, especially since the jobs pay 15$ an hour and are part time. I can’t get anymore loans because of the debt to income ratio. I am currently a produce manager at the local grocery store while also door dashing and driving for Amazon flex. These income’s provide my bills, food and car payment. Unfortunately it’s still not enough and I don’t have the time to get a 4th job. A Series of Unfortunate Events

     October 29th, 2023, I had to borrow my wife’s 2013 Toyota Corolla to take care of a customer of mine. I own a maintenance and repair company. Finish up and I am stopped at a left turn stop light 10ft behind a small oil truck. 2ft behind me is another car. To the left is a median with small palm trees. More cars to the right of me in a right hand turning lane. The driver in the oil truck decides to begin to backup. Apparently he was blocking the cross walk and felt he needed to back up to unblock the cross walk. Not sure how he didn’t see my car, but he began to back up thinking there was no one behind him.  As I’m sitting there watching this happen I see that he is getting really close to my bumper and I start blasting my horn. He apparently didn’t hear me, as he had ear buds in his ears. I can’t back up, can’t move anywhere. All I can do is blast my horn and yell are you f#*$ING kidding me! As he begins to literally run over my front bumper and then some. He backed up so much that he went half over my hood. It’s like it was from a movie. He then pulls forward, completely oblivious! I jump out of my car hands in the air yelling at the guy, WTF!! Fast forward to insurance claim, they will only cover what the car was worth not what we owed on the corolla. Short $5500, and car is totalled out. Now we have to get another vehicle, so my wife can work. Mortgage due that same week, I did what I had to do and sacrificed the mortgage payment to place a down to finance another vehicle for my wife. Fast forward to November 14th my work vehicle goes down, can’t afford to replace transmission. Have to get another vehicle for my work. Had to sacrifice that mortgage payment to put as a down payment. At that point we are behind 2 months on mortgage payments. Starts hitting both credit scores. I’m able to pay the normal monthly mortgage all the way up into June. Last half of May up into today I haven’t been able to work due to tearing not one but both labrums in my shoulders. Your labrum connects to your biceps. I had been dealing with these 2 injuries since I got out of the military. Last 2 years were by far the worst. I was scheduled to have surgery in 2022, however I have a family to provide for and delayed the surgery. 2 years later still haven’t had the surgeries and now I’m at a point where I have no choice. Problem is, I only receive $2465 a month for being 80% disabled. My mortgage alone is $2784. My wife after taxes and insurance only brings in $4200 a month. Between all our debt we are paying and car loans, there is no room to be able to get back on track. Our credit scores have suffered from the late payments on our mortgage, so no bank will touch us no conventional loan programs will qualify us. We are sinking. I am asking for $25k to assist in getting our mortgage caught up (so we don’t lose the house) and to pay off our outstanding credit card debt. If more is given, we would put towards any other debts and a business my wife has been building the last 3 months.

She’s developing a website program for children with auditory processing disorder, from which my youngest is currently suffering from. It has affected her learning capability and there are no programs that really specialize in helping this disorder. The closest program is Readability, but it is lacking. So my wife is coming up with something similar but has more features and are geared towards my daughter’s disability. There are 8,000+ children diagnosed with this same disability in our area alone. I am going to get right to the point. I am a soon-to-be 40-year-old individual with cerebral palsy and I use a power wheelchair for all my mobility needs. My name is Flora I live in Tucson AZ and my parents live with me. I just made a post asking/pleading for help to not loose my home. My parents 81 and 78 years old had all of our life savings stolen by horrible scammers. After this happened I had to refinance my home. My credit score not being great I qualified with a Trustee for $323,000 with an 11% interest rate. My current payment is $3,556 a month. I’m drowning. I work 45 hours a week. Hi my name is Corey I’m my mom’s caregiver I quit my full-time supervisor job at Delco plastic except for she got a divorce to move in here and take care of her year after year she got worse and worse I was asking my sister for help but she refused considering that her and her fiance gave her a car that’s considered totaled and unsafe to work on so we can’t even get it fixed for her truck that probably would have lasted us but we’re stuck between a rock and the most hard place the last thing I want to see considering I’ve been homeless multiple times in my life is my mother homeless when she had a house given to her by her mother when she died but during her marriage her husband took out a mortgage a home equity loan which goes to the upkeep in your value of your house which stipulates that you’re not supposed to spend it on anything but that and he did he took his 1970 Chevelle completely restored it to a value appraised at during the divorce 48,000 exactly almost the same amount as the mortgage go figure he got the Chevelle the $10,000 camper the $18,000 side by side the $12,000 Kia my mom got her house that was given to her before their marriage even so and got stuck with the loan he’s free and clear I’m working for my life services it’s a state-funded agency that pays family members the bare minimum they could possibly pay them to take care of their own family considering how much a nursing home or Care facility would cost they only allow me for shc which is like chores cleaning up 10 hours every two weeks and PC which is personal care 23.5 hours I was working 10 more hours on the cleaning but I had to drop my wages because of my insurance dropped me and I take medicine I can’t just stop taking so I had to take a pay cut of $150 off my paycheck just to get insurance because our bills are so much our taxes are so much food is so much water is overdue electrical is overdue we have disconnection notices on both foreclosure notices from the bank and her State Grant she got to improve the home a long time ago wrote her a letter saying if she don’t straighten on her taxes she’s going to have to pay out back the grant in full and I’m stuck in a spot where she needs so much care that I can’t get any other part-time job to get another income but yet they won’t pay me anymore she gets $800 for disability and $300 for maintenance from her marriage my income is 425 every two weeks we both only get $20 each for food stamps or we did I don’t know if we got her anymore we’re really struggling and my family isn’t the type of people to help they make things worse and try to destroy you over try to help you this is why I’m reaching out to complete strangers which I’m not asking for money if money comes great I’m helping for resources or a way to help me because every resource I’ve came across like I came across what are utility bill program to help you pay your water bill that doesn’t have any funds left and by the time I seen the thing for to help you pay off your taxes last year it was too late their funds were gone Excel energy is not willing to work with us at all they say if we miss one payment it’s it’s connected and we need to miss a payment somewhere that’s why we’ve been like not paying the water bill you know not paying the water bill the electric’s been way overdue trying to catch up on these taxes from when he left her high and dry before the divorce because her divorce took 4 years she had no money, I’m a proud person I don’t ask for help very often I am very desperate for any kind of help I know if my mother loses his house it will kill her I’m almost positive in her condition…. If I had to put a dollar amount on it I guess I’d say 2,500 to 3 Grand would square us up but we’re still left without a vehicle so it’s damn near impossible for me to get my disabled bomb anywhere or get food or whatnot I live in a small town where transportation isn’t that available.

Over the years bills and other financial responsibilities have slowly piled up and now it seems we cant get a break. My husband is a very hard worker, some may say a workaholic. He always grinds to make ends meet and refuse to ask for help. He will alway help others before himself which at times puts us in a bind. I too work which helps keeps us afloat but it gets exhausting and making it hard to be there for our 4 kids.

This all started when my husbands dad got sick. He needed medical care (dialysis) and where his dad lives, if you dont have the money they will not help you. So he started paying for his treatments. He also would pay for his travel expenses. They lived 3 hours from the nearest city where his treatment is. After a year of that, his father died. They couldn’t afford anything, so we paid for the funeral and burial. At this time, we financially were ok. Then, my husband being the caring person that he is, decided to pay for his little sister’s education (high school is not free there), She was only 14 years old. My husband felt like it was his responsibility to get her through school since his dad was unable to. This is when things started to get tight financially but he continued to help his sister. After she graduated from high school, he offered to pay for her college and school supplies. During this time other things came up over the years and my husband ended up help others too. A church burnt down, so he help financially rebuild it. Other family members past, he help with some financial burdens. His mom lost some income when his dad past, so he would help support her a bit. Family or friends needing to barrow money so they dont lose their house, etc. The list goes on. Then recently his uncle decided to retire and leave the country but still had a mortgage to manage. My husband willing to help out, took this as an opportunity to own a rental property and hoping this could help us with a little income. Unfortunately this set us over financially, the mortgage was too high to be covered by a renter. It helped his uncle but hurt us. We couldn’t keep up with the payments on top of our own mortgage, we ended up selling it. We couldn’t sell it for the price we were indebted due to the value of the property/location. We dont want to lose our current house since our mortgage is way cheaper than rent. My husband works 14 hrs a day and through the weekend to help pay this off. He rather work himself to death than to ask for help and it hurts me dearly seeing him work so hard. He deserves some relief. Our kids miss spending time with us, and we miss them too.
