I am reaching out to ask for help during a very difficult time. I am currently on disability and receive $1,142 per month, which goes toward my bills and basic necessities with very little left over for unexpected expenses.

My vehicle, a 2011 Nissan Rogue, is in need of important repairs, including a rack and pinion replacement and a driver-side control arm repair. The estimated cost is around $2,500, which is more than I am able to afford on my limited income.

Having a reliable vehicle is extremely important because I live in a small town with no public transportation. My car is not just a convenience—it is how I get to appointments, buy groceries, and handle everyday needs. I also live with my 75-year-old mother, who depends on me for transportation. She has an upcoming hernia surgery, and I am the only person available to take her to the procedure, follow-up appointments, and her regular doctor visits. I also help her with grocery shopping and other necessities.

I was recently in a serious car accident that totaled my car and left me shaken trying to manage my insurance claim while still recovering. Because car was financed, I received no payout in fact I may still owe money on a car i no longer have. I currently have no car. My insurance cut off my rental coverage seven days after my accident and I’ve been paying rental fees, medical bills, and daily expenses out of pocket. Little did I know it would take a lot more work healing from the injuries no one could see. I was once again at deaths door but this time by my own doing. I spent more years at the bottom of a bottle, than I spent being a better father or even a son. I pushed the people who loved me the most farthest away. Convincing myself I was doing it for them and there safety. By the grace of God I got a angel as a therapist who helped me face the trauma’s that haunted me for so long. She helped me to learn how to deal with the side affects that came with PTSD and physical disabilities. These accomplishments gave me the confidence to work on my relationships with those people I pushed away. Yes I am considered permanently disabled and I have limitations but that doesn’t mean my story doesn’t have more chapters to be written. The reason for me posting this is part of the next chapter. I have a Traumatic brain injury that caused seizures. My driver’s license was medically suspended but thanks to break through medical treatment and one heck of a battle, I finally got my license back and been seizure free for a few years now. I don’t have enough money to get a decent vehicle. I would to like to get a used SUV for $ 4000 to $5000. Safe AWD nothing fancy. I worked my butt off to get to this point after all these years. The next chapter is I am going back to school to learn a new trade (HVAC) that a program called VRE vocational rehabilitation is helping pay for. I also will be getting certified as a peer support specialist down the road. I feel using what I have went through and showing future combat veterans who come back home lost and want to give up that if you can find the soldier in you one more time that even the worst parts of life covered in darkness still can be overcome by becoming the light. I feel it’s my duty to pay it forward. My hope is even if you read this and can’t help , that maybe showing my vulnerability will help you reach out for help. I don’t even know what to do anymore. Our family’s only car was taken without my permission and abandoned in the middle of an intersection, and because of that it was impounded. Now the fees have added up to almost $1,900, and I have no way to get it out on my own.

This car is how we get to work, get groceries, handle appointments, and take care of everyday life. Without it, everything feels impossible right now. I’m trying my best to fix a situation I didn’t create, but the cost is more than I can manage.

Three days ago, I hit a deer and it totaled my car, a 2008 Honda Element with about 130,000 miles on it. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was reliable, good on gas, and it got me where I needed to go.

I live in the South where public transportation really isn’t an option, and I just started a new job, so not having a vehicle has made everything difficult. But the hardest part is that my 5-year-old son currently lives about an hour away, and I’m working hard to get him back in my custody.

Right now I have visitation once or twice a week, and without a car, I can’t reliably get to see him. He’s the most important thing in my life, and I’m trying to do everything I can to be there for him and build a stable life for us.

I am looking for some.help getting 1 of 2 things. Either my car fixed which is around $1200 dollars it needs a motor it’s a 2005 Toyota camry. I’ve found a motor for 600$ and the cheapest mechanic I have found is $800 I have managed to save 300$ the past few months since I’ve started working. Or I need help getting another vehicle. I recently moved in with my mother who is disabled. She gets a check every month but it barely covers the rent bills and her medication. I pay 35$ a night for a ride to work I work 3 days on 2 days off 2 days on 3 days off. Whatever money I have left out of my paycheck goes towards household needs. She sometimes misses appointments and has to reschedule when my aunt isn’t able to take her sometimes and there is no public transportation where we live. My name is Nikki, and I’m reaching out because I need help repairing my only vehicle — a 1991 Toyota 4Runner. I’m on Social Security income, and after years of faithful use, this truck now needs several repairs and is no longer safe to drive.

Hello. Who hasn’t been here, right? I took my 2011 Nissan Rogue in to the repair shop, because I was hearing a loud noise when I backed into my drive way. I’m very attentive to keeping my vehicle in good running condition. I’m disabled with lupus and unable to work. So my income is limited.

I took my car into my repair shop to find out what the noise was and to get it fixed. Unfortunately they found some oil leaks. They also said they believe the issue causing the nose was my suspension. They fixed the oil leaks and replaced my lower control arms, the upper and lower tie rods, and my struts. It was also time to change my breaks.

This cost was way out of my budget, but it had to be done. The only way I could pay for the repairs instantly was to put it on a high interest credit card.

I took my car home, pulled into my driveway and there it was. The noise again. I recorded the noise and took it back to the repair shop the next day. They spent several days replacing basically the entire front end to find the source of the noise and finding issues along the way.

I took it home again, and once again heard the noise. This time I had the mechanic come to my house and hear it for himself, while pulling into my driveway. I took my car back to the shop. FINALLY!! They found the source of the noise. It’s my bushings.

So here I am with my car finally fixed, but it’s costing me $9,489 and change. I’ve maxed out my credit cards and I will not be able to afford the monthly payments.

Hi my name is Chloe. I have been struggling lately to pay bills, I got a little behind and built up my credit cards and now I feel that I am in a hole that I can’t climb out of. I am a single mother of four. April 2025 I was drugged and raped by the doctor I worked for. I was moved for my safety due to threats. as I wait for a trial I am trying to peace my life back together, but it has been one tribulation after another. My engine went out at the beginning of December. A week later my son’s car was stolen while he was away playing in his college football playoffs. It has now been found but the thief messed up his engine as well. Christmas was null and void and life is “life-ing”. He is home for the college break. A Single Mother’s Urgent Appeal: Repairing Our Van to Get Back on Our Feet (National City, CA)

Our Immediate Barrier to Stability

We are facing a major challenge that prevents me from moving forward: my family’s transportation, a van, has severely damaged windows.
