Im sobbing writing this.. I never even actually thought something like this was possible.. You always think it won’t happen to you, and yet.. Here I am…

How to put things into words.. I’ve just finished at my doctor, I havent moved from the carpark yet.. I’ve been told I have lung cancer.. Late stage.. Even writing that does not feel real..

Im in my late 30s, with a wife, 3 year old daughter.. I’m the sole income provider.. Which now tears my heart to pieces knowing what I need to tell them..

Hopefully this is coherent, I can barely see through my glasses.. But Im not here asking for payments for treatment, I don’t think it will make much of a difference.. What Im asking here for is to clear my debt.. Or atleast reduce it so my family doesn’t inherit my burden..

Let me be clear, my debt of 60k AUD has largely accumulated since my daughter was born, getting us by on the credit card while my wife hasn’t worked.. I’ve done the best I can.. With what I’ve been given.. And I’ve finally got into a position where I can pay it down.. But..  My family is now going to be left with a burden… My wife will need to return to work, and I have no idea how they will manage.. I don’t know what to tell them.. I don’t think I can even bring myself to drive home yet…

Honestly, I have no idea whether this site is legit or not.. Or whether anyone will even see this.. But I can hope I guess..  If anyone is out there.. Just… Please.. This is all I can do for my family now..

My mother, Sue Anne Sleeper, passed away on November 4th in Alabama, where she lived. I live in New Hampshire, and unfortunately, I am unable to afford the travel expenses required to be there in person or to cover the full cost of her end-of-life services.

It was only this past July that I finally secured a position, and I have successfully completed my probationary period. Three months to live

 My Pop’s was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in February of 2024 The doctor’s told us he has a good chance of beating it if we hit it hard with chemo and radiation

They said it will make him sick of course but he has a good chance of beating it. For the next few months that’s what we did Chemo took a lot out of him but we were not giving up Come September we received the good news his cancer was in remission Thank God then two days later I was in a bad accident and fractured my back and can’t work  bill’s piling up and I’m about to lose everything And by the grace of God everything starts to turn around or so we thought on July 8th 2025 I had to take my pop’s to the emergency room he was peeing blood After being seen The doctor came out and told me I need to take him home Call hospice there’s nothing they can do for him the cancer returned with a vengeance it’s all through his body in his blood and bones there’s nothing more they can do they gave him 6 months to live His six months will be up in January and we don’t think he will make it until then. We have a short time to make funeral arrangements for him but have no money to do it. I have no one to ask it’s just us I’ve been making phone calls and the only help I’ve found was Social security will give me $250.00 when he dies to help with the final costs.  He doesn’t want to be cremated because he’s afraid his spirit won’t be at rest if he is.And a funeral service cost over $10.000

Last days with my dying maternal grandfather

My maternal Grandfather is living his last sunrises and sunsets.

As he has been diagnosed with metastated lung cancer, his 90 year old self is counting the last laughs, the last breaths, the last times feeling the wind on his native island of Martinique. He is experiencing his last everything, and I would like to be with him through those last moments. Surely our relationship has never been easy. Surely, there are many grudges I could hold, with reason, against him. But these past few years, whether not quite obvious or simple, something rekindled between the two of us through him teaching me about the trees whose name I would have never known had he told me about them.

8000 km is an unfathomable distance to begin to mourn someone. It creates such worry, such anxiety, such pain. It adds to the condition of a Caribbean identity so complex, so harsh. 8000 km, and a flight ticket, and the car rental, and the appartement rental, an unfathomable amount of money to make sure you are able to say goodbye to a loved one. So that you don’t spend the rest of your life regretting not taking part in the last embrace.

Since 2019, I have committed to returning to Martinique every year. Trying to repare a relationship that needed much mending. Trying to understand. Trying to learn. Trying to love a caribbean treasure desired by most for its luxurious appearance but not profoundly valued. Every year (except for 2020), I have returned to an island that was never quite mine to begin with although it is undeniably a part of me. I have hoped for change, social, political, I have prayed hope would eventually grow in this place of despair but to be honest, I am no longer sure I can, or ever will see it change.

Now that my grandfather is sick, now that he is dying, spending his last days, on the island that has carried him all life long, I would like to be by his side for his last breath or perhaps while he shares his last knowledge of a tree I may have never heard of.

I have had to delay my trip due to financial issues, I am having a tough time this year managing it as I so happen to lose my cat of ten years in July and the cremation is quite costly (900€). So if you could kindly help with the cost of my trip to Martinique so I can spend my grandfather’s last days with him, it would be so thoughtful. Staying overthere for the next few months would cost minimum around 7000€ which includes (housing, car rental or car reparation of my grandfather’s dysfunctioning car, plane ticket, food with 40% more tax than in France, gas).

NEED HELP TO PAY RENT AFTER 2 SETS OF FUNERAL EXPENSES

Hello to the wonderful people in our community,

I recently lost two of my family members dearest to me – my mother-in-law who lived with my partner and I, who I had grown very close to.. and my grandmother, also very dear to my heart.  As we did our best to honour their final wishes it costed us $20,000. to take my mother-in-law back to her home country for her final funeral rites. This included international transportation, holding in funeral homes, proper permissions/paperwork and coordination across borders, other funeral costs and flights. In addition, attending my grandmother’s funeral required funeral and flight costs too – a process that stretched over a month into two months. Two months away from our jobs and dipping into our savings.

We exhausted our savings to cover these sudden expenses and are now two months behind on rent – $4,000. We have been trying to work out a repayment plan with our landlord but that is not an option. It would be near impossible to move as we don’t have first and last month’s rent much less a deposit to put on any new place.

We’ve just recently started working again and are doing everything we can to get back on our feet. A friend of mine suggested this site and I thought well why not give it a try. We are kindly asking for support as any contribution would go a long way to offset the costs we incurred but most importantly to catch up on rent and stabilize our living situation while we continue rebuilding.

Help Melissa’s Children Through Tragedy

Melissa was one of the most generous and loving souls I’ve ever known. Her smile lit up every room, and even in her darkest moments, she never stopped helping others. Sadly, she recently passed away from a stroke, leaving behind four young children who are now without their mother and facing a future filled with uncertainty and loss.

Melissa’s story is heartbreaking. Just two years ago, she lost her eldest son unexpectedly—a tragedy that left her devastated. Though grief hung heavy, she never let it define her. She kept smiling. She kept helping. She kept dreaming of a better life for her family.

Earlier this year, Melissa suffered her first stroke. Life became more difficult, especially as her health declined and her youngest children and only daughter were placed in foster care. Her depression deepened, but one thought kept her going: she was grateful they were all together under one roof, even if only temporarily. She longed for the day they would be reunited and live as a family again. We often sat and made plans for that day—plans she held onto with hope and determination. Now those plans are gone, and her children are left to pick up the pieces.

Melissa didn’t have much money. She spent what little she had on simply surviving. She was a giver, not a taker. Her dreams were not for herself—they were for her children. And now, those children are left without her love, her strength, and her guidance.

Wife passed away after brutal battle withcancer. Help with the burial and raising my 2 small children.

My wife was diagnosed last June(2024) with  stage 4 cervical cancer at the age of 30….this last year was devastating on my family with the treatments, surgeries and the toll ot took on my wifes appearance and financially it hit us harder then I realized. My wife passed away at 31. Just 3 weeks shy of her 1 year diagnosis mark. We have a 7yr old and 9 yr old. I had a forbearance on our mortgage during the time of her treatments, thats up now because its been a year. We didnt get life insurance b/c we were young and didnt think this could “happen to us”. So im stuck 12 months worth of mortgage payments behind. I am a veteran, so the mortgage company worked with me alittle and got my payments down from $1900.00 to $1300.00. But I was on fmla with pay the first 3 months but the past . Months without pay. I cant even afford to have a proper ceremony to say goodbye to the love of my life and my kids might not get the chance to say goodbye to their wonderful mother. I really am worried they are going to remember her how she was this past year instead of how great things were before her diagnosis.  Im not asking for any particular amount. Help a single mother fund for her late father’s headstone

Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all,

 

My name is Hazik. I am 33years of age and a single mother to five beautiful children raging from the age of 12years – 16years. I am also a sole carer for my elderly parents (my late father was 83 when he passed and my mother is currently 78years old). I work a full-time job, working between 40-70 hours per week.

 

I have been the sole carer for my parents since I was 18years old and still am to this very day. I have been a single mother since the day 5 months into my pregnancy to my twins (12years old now). 2 of my 5 children are my biological children (identical twin girls) and the other 3 are my adopted children since 2019 (ages 13 – 16).

 

My father passed away late last year (2024), so I am currently continuing the care for my elderly mother. My children designed a headstone for my parents (their nana and papa). I have taken this design around to local headstone businesses for quotation and have found the cheapest quote at $30,000.00 (30k). This is the cost for a double headstone for my parents as they will be laid side by side when my mother’s time comes.

 

I am seeking your help with funding this headstone for my father (and mother) as I am not able to save that much money in a short period of time before the unveiling date. My weekly pay is barely enough to make ends meet due to the high cost of living now. I have tried applying for a Credit Card and a Personal Loan to cover this cost but unfortunately was unsuccessful as I had already taken out a loan last year (currently still paying it off) for my dad’s funeral and expenses.

Grandpa Just Passed – Help Me Get Home

Hello, I’m a 29-year-old woman grieving the recent loss of my beloved grandfather, who passed away at the age of 90 due to illness.

Growing up, I didn’t have the opportunity to live near my grandparents. My parents fled Rwanda due to war and raised me in West Africa. At age 19, I moved to Kenya to pursue my university studies—and it was during this time that I was finally able to travel to Rwanda and meet my extended family. I was 20 when I met my grandfather for the first time. It was love at first sight. He welcomed me with warmth, and we formed a bond I will always cherish.

Earlier this year, I was able to visit my mother and siblings in West Africa after seven years away (first in Kenya, then in the U.S.). That trip was made during an unpaid leave of absence, as I had to be with my family after my father passed away in December 2023.

Shortly after returning to the U.S., I began receiving heartbreaking updates about my grandfather’s declining health. He had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. In his final days, he could no longer eat or drink and lost a significant amount of weight. It was incredibly painful to witness his suffering from afar. He passed away peacefully last Sunday morning.

I long to return to Rwanda this June to be with my grandmother and support my family as we honor his memory together. Unfortunately, after taking unpaid leave recently, I cannot afford the trip. A round-trip flight is estimated at $1,400–$2,000, and I am budgeting a total of $3,000–$5,000 for travel and related expenses.
