40YO Diagnosed with Heart Disease

I am a 40 yo female who went in to hospital to find out that I have Cardiac Sarcoidosis.

The disease is predominantly found with sudden cardiac death and less so when alive.

Since I’ve been off, my workplace has told me I just have to try and survive on what little money I have left. No help offered. HR actually asked if I could work from hospital.

My partner visited me today like every day and their car was hit causing damage. So now we have to fix that with next to no cash.

I don’t know what else to do. In order to survive our bills we will need about $15,000 minimum or we’ll lose our house.

  • My name is Tiffany I currently live in Darlington, South Carolina. I have never done anything like this before and feel slightly embarrassed to have to ask strangers for help. I currently work as a waitress and we don’t make much money so im surviving off of tips on a day to day basis. I have 2 sons and one has sickle cell disease so he gets sick quite often and that causes me to miss work. My mom passed last year and she was always my help when im in need. We never imagined we would be in a position where we needed to ask others for help, but today we are reaching out with a humble heart and hope that someone will hear our story. I am 57 & my wife is 70. I was in a terrible motor vehicle accident a few years ago. I now have many injuries & disabilities that I am dealing with. Every single day is a battle. I am working with a medical team to address my issues. I am not able to return to work. My wife is also dealing with health issues & not able to work.

We are facing  serious financial hardship and are struggling to afford the basics that so many of us take for granted. Right now, my greatest concerns are paying my rent, keeping food on the table, and covering my essential living expenses. Every day has become a difficult balancing act, and despite doing everything I can to improve our situation, We have reached a point where we can’t do it alone.

The uncertainty of not knowing if we are be able to keep a roof over our head or afford groceries has been incredibly stressful and emotionally draining. It is difficult to ask for help, but we know that sometimes we all need a helping hand to make it through life’s hardest moments. We are using the foodbank for groceries, but I need special items due to my medical needs so I need to do a Walmart run bi-weekly for those necessary items.

We have a 2022 used vehicle that we need to payoff. (there is no transit in our remote town) & we both have different medical appointments so the car is necessary.

We are asking for: 6months rental payments-$1845.00×6=$11,070.00 & 6 months car payments-$500.00×6=$3000.00 & $1000.00 to cover utility & grocery costs. The total request is $15.070.00 My wife & I only receive Government pensions, so there is no “extra money”. With our request we would be able to at least save a few months of our pensions into savings to get ahead.

Any contribution, no matter the size, would go directly toward my rent, groceries, and other essential expenses. Emergency money, electric bill and moving help

Husband and I moved into brothers house 9 yrs ago, he was disabled and a vet. We lent him over $40,000. to renovate the house. Replaced the whole well system, replaced the roof and anything major you can think of, septic pumps, etc… He past away two and a half yrs ago. I paid the mortgage payments for a year and a half to keep out of foreclosure with promise from probate lawyer that we would get back all the money as long as I had the receipts, I do. But when they did title search they found out he had a $999,000. judgement against him. Lawyer told me, we weren’t getting our money back. We are devastated and have to move into low income housing. We got behind on our electric trying to keep up the mortgage, $3000.+ and they now want to charge me a $600.+ deposit before we move the electric. Movers want $1500. – $1,800. to help move our heavy items. We are in our 70s and hate asking for charity. We appreciate any help and hope to be able to pay back as soon as we can.

Fighting Debt After Fighting for Safety

I am a mother of three, a first responder, and a survivor of a long and painful chapter of my life. Several years ago, I made the difficult decision to leave an abusive marriage to protect myself and my children. Walking away was not simple — it meant starting over completely on my own, rebuilding our safety, and fighting through a long, drawn‑out legal battle that lasted four years.

During those four years, my ex‑husband repeatedly took me back to court, trying to change the circumstances that had been put in place to keep me and my children safe. Although I initially had legal representation and won in court, the constant litigation drained every financial resource I had. Over time, I spent $80,000 in legal fees — money I did not have, but money I had to find to protect my family.

Eventually, I could no longer afford a lawyer at all. I represented myself in court because I had no other choice. I studied Family Law through books and online and learned what I had to do.  I did it while raising my children, while working full‑time helping others, and while trying to hold together the pieces of our new life.

To survive, I relied on high‑interest loans and credit cards. These were not used for luxuries — they were used for freedom, safety, and survival. Today, those debts remain, and the weight of them has become overwhelming.

I have worked overtime for years in a very stressful job, where days off for recovery and self care are important, all to keep up with these payments. But the physical and emotional toll has caught up with me. I am exhausted. My health is suffering. My time with my children — the very people I fought so hard to protect — is being taken away by the need to work more and more just to stay afloat. I cannot keep working overtime. I cannot keep sacrificing my well‑being to pay off debt that came from escaping abuse.

Lease to purchase/stole all our money/now want to evict us

I am writing to you in a time of urgent need and desperation for my family. We are facing an incredibly difficult situation regarding our home and are seeking any assistance or guidance you can provide.

My family has always been active in our community and supportive of our troops. Currently, my husband is receiving Social Security benefits, and I receive Social Security Disability due to ongoing medical issues.

On April 1st of this year, we invested our life savings of $22,000 into a lease-to-own agreement for a beautiful property in Keystone Heights, Florida. We have always made our payments on time. However, shortly after moving in, we discovered a major issue with the septic system. When we addressed this with the property owners, they refused to honor our contract, stated they are keeping our deposit, and demanded that we pay $355,000 by July 15th. If we cannot raise these funds, we face eviction and homelessness.

Our dream for this property is to operate a bed and breakfast in the second house on the lot. Foreclosure

Hello, my mortgage was foreclosed the home sold and a shortfall of $200,ooo.oo was paid to the bank holding the mortgage by the insurance company i paid $23,000.00 to insure the mortgage for the bank, now the insurance company is coming after me for the $200.000.00 they paid the bank.

I’ve always had good credit and had no missed payments until i had a heart attack and was put-on long-term disability a considerable amount less than i was making as a fighter and i was still able to service my mortgage payment of almost $1900.00 a month then my mortgage was up for renewal and my payment doubled too almost $4000.00 a month which i tried to service but ended up falling behind on payments and the bank wanted me to bring the account into good standing before they we consider other options i could not manage their request hence they  fore closured on the mortgage.

I cannot come up with the $200,000.00 to pay the insurance company and the only o0ption is to claim bankruptcy and any retirement savings and pension will be affected as well as my 1997 modular home on a rented lot. I’m 63 years old on heart medication and the stress and embarrassment is overwhelming.

Please save cat Charlys home!

Dear giving Community,

I am desperate about the situation of me, my partner and our cat Charly. We brought our cat boy from animal shelter 2 years ago. He was already an older guy, 8 or 9 then, now, 10 or 11 now. He was diagnosed with FIV and FELV, so he has to be kept seperate from other cats, in order not to transfer the virus to them. It was an obligation from the animal shelter, that we have to provide a flat with at least one protected balcony, so Charly is able to enjoy the air and sun and look, what is going on outside at least a litte bit. We provided all that, and Charly made it his home quickly. He is such a great guy, enjoying to sleep in bed and boxes and on our bellies, playing through the flat and eating favourite foods. We love him dearly and every thought of losing him causes despare in us. Unfortunately all of Charlies safe, used and loved surrounding is in danger now, because of a lack of money. My partner is age 63, without a job for 10 years now, allthough he tried to find one with all efforts. It is no more easy at his age, and in addition he is severely disabled with cronic diseases. He gets minimum money from the jobcenter, but they are no more willing to pay for the flat, they consider too expensive, they have already reduced their payments, althought the landlord even raised his rent. My partner D is collecting foods even from trash and is no more able to pay the rent, for tv, telephone and electricity. He now has to go to hospital for a spine surgery, will be away many weeks, maybe months with rehab after surgery. If he cannot hold the flat, Charly will have to go back to animal shelter. D tried everything to find a cheaper, payable flat, but got no one within 1 year now. Always they do not want him, because of age, unemployed or with the cat. I of course did everything to help them, but I am in emergency myself now, after having a car accident some years ago, got damaged, had different surgeries, hospital stays and was no more able to do my self-employed business. It went so far, that I had to take different loans and even my mother took loans in order to help me. We are all at our limits right now. Emergency situation

Hello, my name is Ruhi. I work as a live-in travel nurse, so I live with my patients 24/7.

I have been unemployed for the past three months because my most recent assignment was extremely difficult. The patient I cared for was very aggressive, stubborn, racist, and simply not a pleasant person to be around.

He believed that anything in the refrigerator belonged to him. Even after I repeatedly explained that the food that he threw away  was min. His family was aware of this behavior but never did anything to stop it.

He would also put his hands on me whenever he became upset, which was almost every day. He frequently opened my bedroom door without knocking, even when I was changing or not fully dressed. I asked him many times to knock before entering, but he ignored my requests.

The last incident was the last straw . I woke up on the morning of Eid, one of the most important holidays in Islam, similar in significance to Christmas for Christians. The night before, I had ordered a special meal from a restaurant to celebrate. When I woke up, I discovered that all of my food was gone. I asked him where it was, and he told me that he had thrown everything away.

I was heartbroken and asked him why he did it. Instead of answering, he stood up, yelled, “Leave! Leave!” and shoved me so hard that I hit the back of my head against the wall. He is about 6’2″, while I am only 5’6″, so I was completely shocked and frightened.

I immediately informed his family, but they did not seem surprised by what had happened. Even then, they still took no action.

While packing my belongings to leave, I made another disturbing discovery. My bedroom had a lock on the outside of the door, but not on the inside where I could lock it for my own safety. I checked every other bedroom in the house, and none of them had an outside lock. Mine was the only one. If I had known that before starting the job, I would never have accepted the assignment unless the room had a lock that I could control from the inside.

My agency had no knowledge of his behavior before placing me in that home.

I have worked as a caregiver for more than 10 years, and I truly love caring for seniors. I have always gone above and beyond for my patients. However, this experience has left me with severe anxiety, and I am now afraid to return to live-in healthcare work.

I am considering becoming self-employed because I never want to experience something like this again. Unfortunately, I have been unemployed for three months and need financial assistance to pay my bills, obtain health insurance (which my agency does not provide), and start my own business.

Help for extreme debt and preparing for retirement

Hello, my name is Willie Brown, I am a 60 year man living in Charlotte, NC.
