Hello, my mortgage was foreclosed the home sold and a shortfall of $200,ooo.oo was paid to the bank holding the mortgage by the insurance company i paid $23,000.00 to insure the mortgage for the bank, now the insurance company is coming after me for the $200.000.00 they paid the bank.
I’ve always had good credit and had no missed payments until i had a heart attack and was put-on long-term disability a considerable amount less than i was making as a fighter and i was still able to service my mortgage payment of almost $1900.00 a month then my mortgage was up for renewal and my payment doubled too almost $4000.00 a month which i tried to service but ended up falling behind on payments and the bank wanted me to bring the account into good standing before they we consider other options i could not manage their request hence they fore closured on the mortgage.
I cannot come up with the $200,000.00 to pay the insurance company and the only o0ption is to claim bankruptcy and any retirement savings and pension will be affected as well as my 1997 modular home on a rented lot. I’m 63 years old on heart medication and the stress and embarrassment is overwhelming.
