Single, hard-working grandma, unexpectedly obtained custody of my young grandchildren. Forced to quickly rush into purchasing my first home. Expenses have accumulated much faster than anticipated. Has been a struggle to just keep things running and keep the bills paid on time, much less have the funds to afford things like furniture and toiletries. My main goal is just to establish stability enough to survive comfortably. I have never been someone who tries to live outside of their means, this is not a situation of that caliber, it is a situation of trying to secure my grandchildren’s safety and future.

My goal with posting here is to appeal to any compassionate souls who can understand the desire to protect their descendants and try to maintain some integrity in a bad situation. I would tremendously appreciate any form of help, but being that our success is contingent upon stability, a monthly or recurring donation would be outstandingly generous and most beneficial at this dire time. I recently injured/broke my wrist and have had to take some time off of work, which has not helped the situation. As one might imagine, because of this we have some past due bills and expenses adding up. Making choices between necessities has become ordinary while assessing our priorities when it comes to basic needs.

The budget we are currently working with is over $600 short just considering bills. When I add my other expenses that maintain our home, I am afraid to admit that the debt is far more impactful. It just carries over month to month, with no relief or security in sight.

I have a virus in my body called Epstein Barr Virus. This particular strain that I have gives you Mono. So just like Chicken Pox comes back later as Shingles the Mono strain attacks many parts of your body. It attacks your endocrine system which includes your thyroid, adrenals, pituitary & ovaries. I’m a cancer survivor, tennis pro, husband and father at the young age of 35. I’ve been in remission for about 3 years now and I’m beginning to get back to regular life. As precaution, I’m still getting MRI scans on a monthly basis and they can be quite expensive. I recently started a new job in  the same field as the one I lost but the transition has been quite hard on me. I do have a savings account but it’s nearly depleted due to recent events. My car was stolen so I used a lot of money for uber to get to and from work. Child care is pretty expensive so I’ve been maintaining that. I’ve had my car back for about 3 weeks and it’s back in the shop currently with transmission issues so I know that’s going to be an expensive feat. A few months ago I left a relationship where I allowed myself to become inappropriately financially dependent on my partner. I was very young when we got together, and I made a lot of young, dumb mistakes that led to me having nothing to my name when I left the relationship. So, I moved back into my parents’ house to work hard and earn enough to get my own place.

My father has been physically and emotionally abusive all my life. My siblings and I were beaten from the time we were literally 3 to 15. I grew up hearing my mother scream at my dad, defending us. When my brother and I were teenagers, she had to literally plea with him to not actually take us out into the yard and beat us up, and the only thing that ever stopped him from doing that specific thing was her threatening to leave him – not his love for us, his children. Long-story-short: He was a drywall puncher, to say the least.

My dad has chilled out some now that we’re all older, but my brother no longer speaks to either of my parents after an episode with my father. That has really shattered my dad’s narcissistic view of himself and he’s continued to talk about how he wishes he could physically abused us again, and I’m really scared that this is all building up to an episode where he finally beats my mom – something he’s talked about doing a lot in our one-on-one time. I’ve tried to get my mother out of this, but she won’t leave him, so now I have to worry about myself and my own safety.

So, this is a call for help. I need money to move out of this toxic situation. Anything helps – I just need to get enough to be able to afford a security deposit and a rent payment. I really don’t want to ask people for a specific amount, because it feels like too much to ask for. So, really, anything you can give, I will greatly appreciate.

Hello, I’m in need of help trying to get my wife a new wedding ring set for our upcoming 10th year wedding anniversary next month. I was trying to save up enough money to get her the type of ring that she could be proud to show others, but due to my job having so many layoffs throughout the year, and bills, and the fact that I have the only income coming in right now it’s become near impossible to do. I only have a part time job that pays min wage and I live in a house that could get condemned because the well pump stopped working. Not only that its not my house but my families and they are in their 80s with very little money from ss they can’t afford to have it fixed.
