1. Made a mistake buying a home. The realtor  said it just needed leveling and I believed her. She had me sign a waiver of a home inspection which I didn’t want to even sign. Had me convinced i couldn’t back out of the contract. Did not even have a final walk through. The place needs a lot of work which I can’t do alone. Now I have to pay rent and mortgage cause I can’t move my 4 kids into a very cold place. It needs weatherization and renovation. I’m shitoutta luck an don’t know what to do. Lord God please help me. July 23rd 2020 at 2:38 p.m. I was driving my route as a Lincoln Nebraska city bus driver, that day I had bus 320, when a car driving the opposite direction of me fired a weapon at my bus and killed the only passenger I had on the bus.

My employer gave me one day off after the shooting which happened on a Thursday and gave me Friday off.  It was devastating to watch somebody die in front of me and I took the next 3 weeks off, using my vacation and sick time to try to get over the shooting. I went back to work but it was very hard for me, every time a branch hit the top of my bus I thought it was a gunshot, every time somebody closed a car door I thought it was a gunshot, The nightmares at night over and over again and my doctor gave me anxiety medicine to try to help me sleep. The city of Lincoln Nebraska denied me workman’s comp they said that PTSD according to the city officials were only paid to Police officers, EMT, & Firefighters. And I had to pay for my counseling myself with no help from the city, no support whatsoever from the city.

I turn 62 and again I was assaulted by a passenger, I couldn’t do it anymore, to much violence by passengers I had to retire.

Money is so tight for me, my mortgage payment is $1,420 a month My social security is $1,765 a month I do get a retirement check from the City of Lincoln, but in two years it’s going to run out and I need to do something now before I can’t make my house payment any longer.

I thought about selling my home, but to rent is more expensive than my house payment so that doesn’t work. I’ve lived with this trauma for years now,  I’m so frustrated. So any donations towards the payment of my mortgage would be so appreciated and relieve a lot of stress on my continued retirement.

In need of help, when covid hit the world, I had a full-time job, and lost it, due to cutbacks and putting my family and self in a tailspin. I’m reaching out to you today in hopes of finding support during a challenging time. I’ve been a nurse for almost forty years and now I am retired. My career was my passion, and helping others has always been my calling. That is why I’m writing to you today—I need your help.

My husband and I have been married for almost thirty years, and we’ve shared a life built on love, service, and faith. However, last year, we lost my mother after caring for her for seventeen years. Caring for her disabled status was a full-time job, and it took a significant toll on our finances. We’re now facing a substantial mortgage of over 400K, student loans, and credit card debt. Hello, I am humbly asking for emergency help with my mortgage and bills. I owe $20K in late mortgage and about $3K in late utilities. HOW DID I GET HERE?! I went to college, got my degree, and worked in my field for 10 years… all the “right” things, and still things just went wrong and I am struggling to get it back on track. I have worked primarily in staffing and recruiting throughout my career, with a focus on process optimization, and I loved it! But ever since COVID hit in 2020, the staffing industry has gone through a series of layoffs. I was laid off once in 2020 and the last time, in May 2023.

I have applied for many jobs, written many cover letters, and applied for $17/hour jobs; although I’ve had interviews, there have been no offers. I had a roommate move in, but then she was laid off and couldn’t pay rent so she moved out. Now I just had TWO roommates move in and that will net me $1,300/month, but my mortgage company won’t let me make partial payments?! (I’m still going to try!) In addition to all of this, I fell and hurt the cartilage in my knee and healing has been slow; AND I can’t do rideshares because my car is older than 10 years old.

I love my home so much and I’m scared if I lose it I’ll never be able to be a home owner again. I’m happy to try and work out a repayment plan, I am just begging if anyone could please help me during this incredibly bleak and oppressive time in my life, you would be my hero and help me save my dreams of being a homeowner.

In mid-December 2019 our mother suffered a Bilateral Thalamic Stroke which almost ended her life.  I became her Primary Caregiver, and after two months of hospital and rehabilitation stays she was able to come home.  That began her long term recovery.

In late November of 2022 she suffered a T.I.A. and was hospitalized again.  There had been an undiagnosed Atrial Fibrillation situation and she was once again released to the rehabilitation facility.  The doctors at the facility decided she required Hospice Care, so I brought her home and began the new wave of care and recuperation.  She graduated the Hospice Program near the end of February 2024, but still requires 24 hour care/observation which I happily provide.

Mom is a retired RN that worked at the local V.A. Hospital for 20+ years and helped many Veterans and their families.  She has worked hard to provide for us and teach us as we’ve grown and moved on to our own lives.  She loves travel, painting, seeing her grandchildren, and animals.

We have encountered a major upheaval recently in that the home she’s been renting for over 32 years has been twice since January of 2024.  The current owners have made it clear that they want us out so that they can renovate and “flip” the property.  This presents many new problems for us going forward.

Given the current rates on home rental, we cannot afford to rent a home for mom.  I also am concerned that changing locations may cause confusion and anxiety for her which I plan to mitigate by relocating locally.

I am hoping to raise enough funds to purchase a modest “Forever Home” for Mom to live out her final years comfortably without being worried about becoming homeless.  My sincere dream is for her to have a place she can call Home, and that she can continue her recovery in a stable environment with the benefit of being able to enjoy the Grandkids during these sunset years.

I am coming here today in order to reach out for help with my property taxes; which total $1,002.44, due on April 30th.

To say this past year has been one of the most turbulent of my life would perhaps be a bit of an understatement, we may need more space than I have here to provide the full and expansive context. I come here in full awareness that there are so many out there suffering and struggling right now, all over the world, too. It breaks my heart that forms like these must be created in order for folks to simply get by and survive. I pray we can move into a world of connected community support and self sovereignty that allows for meaningful, impactful growth and change in order to create new systems and ways of being so as no being has to suffer for a lack of funds or resources. I hope to help create this world one day, and hope I get to live to see it happen, even if it’s in small ways.
Yet, here I am, humbled and online asking for help. There isn’t anyone in my life  I can ask, my friends are all equally trying to stay afloat, and the only family member I have isn’t in a position to assist me.

My land is all I have. It is my home, my sanctuary, the place where all is right and good in the world when everything seems to spiral into the seeming abyss of chaos and confusion that is this dark night of the soul. I am currently in between jobs right now, working on my business, cultivating my homestead to live my dream as an herbalist, trying to work online task jobs, dealing with one unexpected expense after the other, while attempting to stay above water mentally, emotionally and physically. The moment I think I’m okay, that I might just be in the clear, something comes up and knocks the wind out of me. I am struggling so badly. I have given up food and basic amenities like shampoo and clothing, sold personal items, and done as many odd jobs as possible to try and save for property taxes and my monthly bills throughout the entire year and I am still in the negative. Six years ago I went into $20k worth of debt to escape an abusive situation, and it’s still haunting me today and preventing me from saving and getting into a more stable place. Up until this year I’ve scrapped by, yet this year has hit me so hard I can’t create any firm ground for myself and my future. This is all taking a toll on me, and I am asking for help out of a place to try and get ahead just a little bit until I can start my job, get the client base I need, pay off my debt and start my dream.

Greetings to whoever is reading this. My family and I are in desperate need. We’ve had a horrible last year and beginning of this year. My husband got laid off late last year. He does construction and it’s been really slow. He was working 1 maybe 2 days a week. In December he found another job and has been working at least 3 days. But we have fallen behind on bills. On 6/1/23 my life changed forever, my husband and best friend of 34 years died. I came home after working a new nursing position and found him dead in our bedroom.
