Greetings to whoever reads this, and thank you for taking the time to do so.
My name is Hannah and I am 23. I currently reside in northern MN working as a paraprofessional at a small school district. To be honest, I never through things would get to this point (as I’m sure you all have probably read >1000 times), but for me, I do not know what else to do. It has never been my nature to ask for help, let alone ask for money. I’ve always been someone who has wanted to do things for myself, but here I am, asking for the help that I’ve been dreading.
I have a school loan that needs to be payed off by May 1st in order to continue my degree. I’m a semester away from getting my Licensed Alcohol and Drug counseling degree and I’ve never been more proud of myself for getting so close to this accomplishment. I’d be the first person in my family to get a college degree.
I’ve had financial issues come up the past couple of months that have impeded on getting this bill payed off. I needed new timing chains for my car, which wiped out my entire savings account in repairing that and I had to get necessary dental work done that took my stimulus check away. I have been paying towards my bill, $200 a month (all that I can afford right now) but at that rate, it won’t get paid off for 2 years.
I know there are people out there who need more help than I do, but I just wanted to give this a go, and see if there are people out there who want to support education. Besides having this job as a paraprofessional, the past 5 years of my life has been dedicated to those who struggle from addiction and chemical dependency. I want to be able to help those individuals at a greater capacity by finishing my degree and doing more.
Thank you for your time and please stay safe during this trying time across the globe.
