Full-Time Lyft Driver Facing Financial Crisis Due to Wage Garnishement- Urgent Help Needed

1. Introduction:

Hi, my name is Eric, and I’m a full-time Lyft driver. I put in long hours every week, working hard to make a living. As anyone in the gig economy knows, some days are good, and some days aren’t. I’ve always taken pride in being able to support myself through dedication and perseverance. However, right now, I’m facing an unexpected situation that I just can’t manage on my own, and I’m reaching out for help.

2. The Challenge:

Recently, I received some difficult news: I’ve been hit with a wage garnishment on my account from the state of California. This garnishment means that my earnings are now withheld, and instead of being able to cash out daily like I usually do, I will only be paid once a week on Tuesdays. This change has put me in a very tough spot because, as a Lyft driver, I rely on daily cashouts to cover essential expenses, especially charging my vehicle. Without the ability to cash out every day, I am effectively immobilized since I can’t keep my car charged and ready for work.

This garnishment hit me completely by surprise, and I’m doing everything I can to figure out a solution. However, while I’m working on resolving the legal and financial aspects, I still have pressing, immediate needs that I can’t meet right now.

3 The Impact:

This situation has placed me in a critical financial bind. My rent, which is $1,200, is due very soon, and I also have an additional $1,000 in other expenses that will be due in the next couple of weeks. Without being able to cash out daily, I’m at serious risk of not being able to pay my rent and meet basic expenses. Losing access to my vehicle or my living space would only make things worse, making it impossible to continue working and earning. I’ve always done my best to manage on my own, but this situation is beyond what I can handle alone.

4. The Solution:

I’m reaching out to ask for any assistance that you can provide. Your support would help me cover my rent, keep my vehicle running, and get through this incredibly challenging period. Every bit helps, and knowing that people care would give me the strength to keep pushing through. Once I’m past this immediate crisis, I can continue working and move forward.

5. Gratitude:

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to me right now. I truly appreciate any help you can offer, whether it’s through a donation or by sharing my story with others who might be able to help. If you would like to support me directly, you can do so via PayPal here: paypal.me/EBryant752 I am sincerely grateful for your support during this difficult time.

A Fight for Health and Stability: Request for Support During Medical Crisis

My name is Shawn Costill, and I’m writing to ask for help during an incredibly difficult time. I’ve been battling serious medical issues since I was 12 years old, and despite years of surgeries and treatment, I’m now facing overwhelming financial stress as my health continues to affect my ability to work.

It all started with severe, constant stomach pain that left me bedridden and eventually homeschooled. After countless ER visits and doctors, I was diagnosed with endometriosis — four cysts and significant scar tissue were found during surgery. We hoped that treatment would ease the pain, but it never did. Over time, I learned to live with it, only going to the ER when it became unbearable.

Years later, a routine physical for a school activity finally gave us answers. A doctor listened closely, ran tests, and diagnosed me with MALS — a rare and painful stomach compression disorder that requires surgery to fix. Since then, I’ve also been diagnosed with Nutcracker Syndrome (which led to a kidney transplant), SMAS, May-Thurner Syndrome, POTS, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I’ve now had 12 surgeries in total.

While we are doing everything we can to manage my conditions, the reality is that my pain has recently worsened. I’ve missed work, fallen behind on bills, and am struggling to keep up. While there are some assistance programs for my medical costs, everyday expenses — rent, utilities, basic needs — don’t qualify. I’m currently $2,500 behind and truly just need enough to catch up and breathe again.

Any support you can offer would bring enormous relief and allow me to focus on healing without the fear of financial collapse hanging over me. I’m deeply grateful for your time, your compassion, and any help you can provide.
With sincere thanks,
Shawn Costill

Wanting a better today

Hi it started with me asking for a transfer to over side of the country, then being made redundant due to night work being canned and my partner pregnant with our second child so I went and did a 60 hour night shift to pay rent and bills and to look after my family.

Six months of doing this with 3 hours sleep my body could not cope so moved my family to Scotland renting a nice house in a small village. Everything seemed to be looking up. I got my partner and two children settled in Scotland and drove 8 hours on weekend too see my family and then 8 hour’s when I could getting ahead in rent and paying all bills ahead of needing paying. Did this for a while until I could not anymore and handed in my notice and moved to Scotland to be with my family. I looked online and found a few jobs applied and went for interviews. One thing or another I could not get job then a supermarket job came up applied and went to prove ID and birth certificate got damaged in my wallet and they could not except it and it was during COVID and could not get a replacement so said could not employ me.

I went and applied to work in a holiday camp as a money collector and apparently people do not last very long doing this I found out afterwards due to what it involves. Got job seasonal yippee. First year past ok and at end of season looked for work and found a dog food company so applied and started working for them over winter and enjoyed it. Then came really not well and found out I was allergic to deer antler what was one of there main products, so had to leave was very disappointed. Found out my partner was pregnant.

We had a home birth in a pool due to COVID  baby girl number three I love every single one of my children and work as hard as I can to provide for them

Next year started applied to join holiday camp again and this time I worked in there shop as well as money collection and near end of year said the warehouse could be done better as was a warehouser in past so I was aloud to strip and put knew shelving in the warehouse almost doubling the space. Time goes on and get full time contract at holiday camp I thought ok very hard work but it’s a job. Also found out my partner was pregnant again after our first holiday I was able to do for us.

Then the worst happens a team leader came to work with COVID and they said he had to work in warehouse where I was working and gave me COVID very badly. I lost my balance and my body got weak and almost lost my job as manager was not understanding. So as soon as I was better looked for another job while still working and found a job back at the same company I got made redundant from applied and got the job went and spoke to holiday camp manger and handed in my notice. During the period before moving to new job more and more was pushed onto me to get done and the last week before moving to new job my body gave up and hurt all my back and arm. I was devastated. I had to speak to the company and said I hurt my back and arm is it ok to keep job open they said sorry but no they needed someone to start now.

So lost new job and job at holiday camp thought no, I started to loose all the advance payments I had done bring rent to one month in advance and bills month by month before healing and finding a new job at a supermarket my baby was about to be born and was told I had the job. Yes.  Then the new we baby boy was born at home in the same birthing pool as my daughter and was ment to start work that week I called the company up as my baby boy had to go to hospital as one of his lungs was not inflating and was put in  a incubator in a room on his own. My partner stayed at hospital while I was looking after my three daughters and going to hospital every day with them. The company was understanding and kept my job open after about two weeks my boy was home but now starting to go in debt I started new job.

Was as hard as ever going back to work after a new boy was born but I did soon got given back door to do as well as shelf filling as was impressed with my work. Went free probation period and got offered two days felt destroyed after all I was doing. But excepted it as a job is better than none. So did overtime when ever it was possible to increase my wage. I managed to say and pay of debts but still could not get ahead again like I was.

I save for a family holiday and went on our second holiday my second ever holiday and went back to work and got food poisoning from a fast food shop as bought a treat for family and wish I had not and had to take time of work and putting me back into debt.  Some time went past after.

Then the worst happens I get a email saying you are going to be evicted due to owner was wanting to sell up…

I don’t have the money to get another property have no family that lives near and four children with another on the way and a partner and I am supposed to be providing for them.

The new baby was coming and I delivered him my self at home in the birthing pool that my other two was born in. Was amazing then 45 minutes later midwives turned up baby healthy but partner was ill she was rushed to hospital and they did tests and found a extra muscle on her heart. She came home and can’t do much and has to do more hospital visits to find out if anythink can be done.

Now I had a eviction notice delivered to the door by two people saying I have a choice finding £75,000 by July to buy from owner or leave. I spoke to my mum and told her the price and said I will pay her rent above the mortgage repayments if she could buy it so my family had a roof over there head. But my mum said she could not help us and can not get a mortgage so have to rent another three bedroom house.

So I have a family with five children 8 ,6 ,4, 1,0 and a sick partner being evicted and I only have a part time job but supermarket said they can give me a extra day permanently that will help but will not help with getting another property. I have never asked for help from strangers I have been the one that tries to help overs.

But now I am asking to anyone that can help I require help please as my children and partner means everything to me

Thank you for reading

I hope you are keeping well and having a happy life.

Single Mom Needs Help With Rent

I am a single mom and the father is absent and provides no help. I have fallen behind on my rent. I recently lost my car due to transmission failure. I was a delivery driver for Walmart, DoorDash and Ubereats and I used my car for my jobs.  I wasn’t able to make a couple of payments on my car and my bank ended up repossessing my vehicle with the bad transmission. I used my tax money last month to pay my rent for April. It’s now the 7th of May and I’ve received an eviction notice to pay by the 10th. I owe $1250. If there’s anyone out there that would help me with paying my rent I would be so happy, thankful and grateful beyond words.
I have a cashapp account.

Thank you so much!

I have been taking care of us for so long, one last month and we’re out

Hello, I am 26 years old and I’ve been taking care of my girlfriend and our cat basically alone for almost a year. The lease on our apartment ends very soon, and I’ve been doing everything i can to hold on until it’s officially over. After that, we’ll be moving into my family’s home to relieve the financial pressure I’ve been under for quite a while. Over the past year, things have become more difficult month by month. My girlfriend lost her job and hasn’t been able to work due to ongoing physical and mental health issues, and I’ve taken on all of our expenses on my own. That includes rent, car payments, insurance, utilities, food, transportation, and anything else that’s come up along the way. To keep up, I’ve had to rely more and more on credit. Each time I thought I had it figured out, another expense would come up. And now, as the final rent payment is here, the numbers just aren’t adding up. My next paycheck alone will not be enough to cover what’s due, and with the amount of debt already on my plate, I’m stretched beyond what I can manage. The final rent payment is $1200 and is due by May 1st. This will be the last one before we can start the process of moving out, and after that, there will be no more monthly rent to worry about. Just this one last hurdle. If there’s any way you’re able to help with that amount—or even part of it—it would go directly toward getting through this last month in one piece. Once we’re out of the lease and into my family’s place, the situation will shift and I’ll finally be able to start catching up on everything. Thank you for reading, and for any support or understanding you can offer.

Rent Relief Needed: Rebuilding My Life at 53

Hello everyone,

I’m 53 years old. Last October 31st, my company eliminated my position during a severe downsizing and since then I have been out of work. I’ve always been independent—supporting myself and those I love and until recently, I never imagined I would need to ask for help and since then, I have been navigating one of the most difficult periods of my life. Last summer I suffered heart-breaking losses of family members and dear friends rapidly in close succession. Grief crushed me and I plummeted into deep depression that intensified after losing my job. Today I find myself alone but finally ready to react. My modest savings and unemployment benefits managed day‑to‑day expenses somehow until now but those funds are pretty much exhausted. I’m four months behind on rent at €500 monthly now putting me at risk of eviction when lease expires May 2025. Stable housing is critical: it will allow me to focus on regaining my mental health, recovering physically and caring properly for my two beloved cats. On Tuesday, April 22nd, I will begin a new entry‑level job. While it doesn’t match my previous roles, I welcome this opportunity as a fresh start. Alongside my new position, I am building zero‑cost side projects—a mobile app for iOS and Android, and the first drafts of two books that I believe they can generate additional income in time.

Unfortunately, the stress of my situation has taken a physical toll: I am experiencing recurring abdominal and renal colic. I am doing my best to manage at home rather than risk hospitalization, which could jeopardize my new job start date and leave my cats without care. Yesterday night I was in constant pain for 3 hours and I will get the chance to see a doctor after these holidays.   Every donation will go directly toward my back rent, ensuring I can focus on recovery and on growing my new career without the fear of eviction.

Writing this request has been profoundly humbling, but I am committed to moving forward. If you can contribute—even a small amount—it will make an enormous difference in helping me secure my home, rebuild my life, and continue creating projects that reflect my passion and purpose. Your support will not only cover rent but will restore my confidence and help me see the light at the end of this tunnel.

Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can offer. I am deeply grateful.

Single Mom of 4 Struggling to Keep a Roof Over Our Heads

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my story.

I’m a single mother to four amazing kids, and I’m doing everything I can to give them a stable and loving home. I work full-time and have two part-time jobs on top of that, but despite all my efforts, I just can’t seem to make ends meet right now. Between rent, bills, food, and basic needs for my children, I’ve fallen behind and I’m scared of what might happen if I can’t get caught up soon.

My rent is due, and I simply don’t have enough. I’m reaching out here because I’m desperate to keep a roof over our heads. I’ve never asked for help like this before, but I’m at a point where I have to put my pride aside for the sake of my kids. They deserve safety, warmth, and a place to call home.

If you’re in a position to help, please know it would mean the world to us. Every dollar helps, and even just sharing this would be a blessing. Thank you so much for reading, for caring, and for offering hope to a mom who’s doing her very best.

Need Help With Keeping a Roof Over my Head for Myself and My Dog

Hi, and I’m reaching out for help during a challenging time. Unexpected financial struggles have made it difficult to cover my rent and essential bills, my dog had some issues that I was able to take care of but from those vet bills I am close to losing my apartment. I’m humbly asking for your support to get back on my feet.
I’ve always worked hard to provide for myself, my family and my friends, but life has thrown some unexpected challenges my way. In addition, to getting the surgery my pup needed over a month ago, its been drastically hard to keep up on feeding myself and paying necessary bills and this month I don’t know if I will be able to do it. I usually make sure my pet is fed before me but that dog has helped me through some tough times so I owe it to him.
Right now, my rent is $1600 with roughly $200-300 in utility bills and I am past due on most of it already and also being drained through loans I have tried to get to stay afloat, but if I can make a dent in the payments maybe I can buy enough time to find another revenue to add for myself where I can never be put in this situation again.
I’m not someone who asks for help easily, but I’ve realized that sometimes we all need a hand. Any support would mean more than just paying a bill—it would give me stability, hope, and a chance to rebuild. Every dollar will go directly toward rent, utilities, and essential expenses to keep me afloat as I am looking for another job to keep me in a good spot in the future.
If you’re able to contribute, please consider donating through paypal.me/paypalpal126. Sharing this page with your friends, family, or on social media would also mean the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer. Your kindness gives me hope.

A Humble Request for Support During a Difficult Time

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is [Your Name], and I’m reaching out today with a heartfelt and humble request for a bit of support during a challenging time in my life.

I’m a single individual working hard to make ends meet, living paycheck to paycheck. I earn $1,000 every two weeks, and while I am grateful to have steady employment, the rising costs of basic necessities—food, groceries, gas, and monthly bills—have made it incredibly difficult to keep up. Like many others, I’ve felt the heavy strain of inflation and the ever-climbing cost of living.

One of my biggest financial burdens is rent, which takes a full $1,000 out of my income each month. That alone consumes nearly half of what I earn. After rent, utilities, transportation, and food, there’s often nothing left over. I find myself constantly playing catch-up, and saving for emergencies or the future has become nearly impossible.

I’m not asking for a handout, but rather a helping hand. If you’re in a position to help, even in the smallest way, your generosity would go a long way in helping me regain some financial breathing room. It would allow me to start saving for the future—something I’ve not been able to do despite my best efforts. Your support would provide some much-needed relief and peace of mind.

If you feel called to contribute, you can send a donation directly through my PayPal at the following link:

Even a few dollars would make a difference. And if you’re unable to give, sharing this message with others would mean just as much. I appreciate your time in reading my message, and I’m thankful for any consideration you can give.

Thank you for your kindness and support—it truly means the world.

Warm regards,

Joe

I believed I could be an artist and I worked hard

I messed up with finances. I’ve been working all the time and forgot to check bills and save up. I was naive enough and I still am, that I could be an actual artist. For years I’ve been working for a company that taught me a lot but I had very little free time and not that great salary and I really believed I could work on my own project with this company as they promised, but that never happened and I don’t think it’s entirely their fault but with the inflation and them choosing other projects as a priority I haven’t had a chance but to leave after years. After that I deep dived into freelance on the internet and just when I thought I had stability many things changed and after a few months of working 16 hours a day I bought a notebook so at least I could go work outside and after that the client decided to not continue our cooperation because they found out they didn’t budget properly and also we didn’t count with the obstacles of cooperating across the sea in this climate.

I still think their project will one day come to life and be great, but I’m not sure if it’s possible right now with the budget they have and I really need to pay my bills and not only work all the time. After a few days after that, my electricity went off just as I was doing a portfolio animation so I could find some normal job at least. I completely forgot about the electricity. I forgot about many many things as I realised.

In between, when times were good, I started a kitchen renovation and I have all the appliances bought, but I dived deep into the work and I hadn’t have time to install them. Now I don’t have any money for the guys to come and make a hole into my wall where the digestor would go.

In past I offered my place for Ukrainian refugees, some great girls and a mom with her son came to live here, and I left them to stay free of charge for as long as they need and they happily stayed for a few months, I was happy to help when people had nowhere to go.

Now I’m in a terrible situation myself and I can just beg and hope that the karma, the universe or some wonderful chance leads some wonderful people my way. I would be eternally grateful and I wish many great things will come your way for your help.

I’m in debt and my electricity is turned off. As delusional as I am, I would very much like to work on a short animated film even after all this, I’ll pitch to a proper short indie film producer and I’ll try to get a funding through any means possible. But to even apply for such things I have to have my life properly sorted out. I know this sounds incredibly messy. But I really have been working all the time.

I know multiple softwares, and I’ve been drawing on paper too, my whole life. I’m  passionate about lights and atmosphere, even much more about visual storytelling. As a person who’s uncertain about everything else, not having enough courage to set time for my selfcare aside most of the time, there’s no much I’m confident about, but I feel like I have no choice but to make a short movie.

I want to make a movie about our inner demon ego leading us towards terrible decisions in life and then the same demon mocking us for every decision we make. He’s a cynical little prick and plays on our weaknesses, like a little teenage rocker plays his pawn shop guitar. Basically I’d love to make fun of myself in a very cruel but hopefully funny way. I think I have the best research possible. I’m going to do everything I can to fix this and have proper savings after all this and I’ll never work without a proper contract again.

I need around 18000 altogether for my financial struggles and finishing the kitchen renovation, my broken window and debts, so I don’t eat ramen from an electric grill, and another 70000 for the short film.

With the life expenses I went just a little higher because I’m completely burned out and I could use a week of just sleeping and some time of looking for a proper contracted job for stability, like teaching or advertising. I have to pay bills, until I raise money to work on the film properly.

With the movie budget I went a lot lower because people would be mortified how much it costs and I’ve got my dinner melting in the fridge right now so I’m really not in any place to bring this on the table after reading all the heartbreaking stories here.

I still have to fight the mess of life I’ve created.

I lost my job

I was attacked by 4 police officers, while with my child. I was sent to a hospital where I was then attacked by another officer while attached to a hospital bed by handcuffs. Charges were bought against me and not the officers which resulted in me losing my job. I am a young single mother and have no help from anyone. I’m behind by 15,000 on bills and really need help. My child is only an infant and up until that day I had everything figured out. Within seconds my whole life changed and now I don’t know what to do. Please someone help me.
