I Never Thought I’d Be Here Asking for Help — But I Have Nowhere Else to Turn
Hi, and thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m reaching out because I’m facing a crisis I can’t get through alone. I need $2,000 to cover rent, utilities, and my car payment after losing my job without warning.
I’ve been on my own since I was 16 years old. Life hasn’t been easy, but I’ve always done what I had to do to survive and provide for myself and my three children. I’ve worked hard every step of the way and never asked for help unless I had absolutely no other choice. Unfortunately, right now is one of those times.
Until recently, I was working full-time and managing to stay on top of my bills. Then, without any notice, the company I worked for shut down. No warning, no severance—just a locked door and a final paycheck that barely covered immediate needs. I was left shocked, scared, and scrambling to find a way forward.
Since then, I’ve done everything I can think of. I’ve applied for every job I can find, signed up for unemployment, and reached out to local organizations for support. I’ve sold what I could, cut every non-essential expense, and tried to stretch every dollar. But despite all my efforts, I’ve reached the point where I can no longer make ends meet.
Right now, I’m behind on rent. My utility bills are adding up. And my car—the only way I can get to job interviews and take care of my kids—is close to being taken away. I’m not asking for extras. I’m simply trying to keep a roof over our heads, the lights and water on, and the vehicle that’s essential to rebuilding.
The $2,000 I’m asking for will go directly toward covering these urgent needs and helping me get back on track. I’m actively looking for work and determined to get back on my feet, not just for me—but for my children who depend on me.
