Help Rebuild My Farming Well and Protect Wildlife in Sri Lanka

Hello, I am Susil Jayatissa, a peace judge from Sri Lanka. I own a one-hectare plot of cultivated land that is my family’s only source of income. With help from the World Bank, I once built a 25-foot-deep cultivation well and installed a solar-powered water pump to irrigate the land.

However, last year’s heavy rains caused the well’s banks to collapse, filling it with soil and making it impossible to pump water. Now, I cannot cultivate my land or earn any income. Sadly, I also lost all my other properties during violent unrest in the country, leaving me without any financial support or access to bank loans.

To restore the well, I need to remove the collapsed soil using an excavator and strengthen the well’s banks with cement bricks. This will make the well safe, long-lasting, and usable for cultivation again.

In addition, wild elephants often visit my farm to drink water. Some have fallen into the damaged well and been injured. I also lose crops to elephant damage. To protect both the elephants and my crops, I plan to build a 6-foot-high cement wall around the well and install a solar-powered electric fence around the farm.

Your generous contribution will help me:
🌿 Rebuild the cultivation well and irrigation system
🧱 Strengthen the well’s banks with cement blocks
🐘 Protect wild elephants and crops with a safe solar fence
🥚 Re-establish a mixed farm with crops, livestock, and fish resources
🍚 Support local families with food, milk, and eggs

This project will not only restore my livelihood but also help protect wildlife and provide food security to the surrounding community.

I am sincerely grateful for your kindness and compassion.
May God bless everyone who helps make this dream a reality

Seeking Assistance For Medical Bills after Surviving Severe Heart Failure

Help Us Cover Urgent Medical Bills After My Wife’s Heart Failure

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult and humbling moments of our lives.

On 17th June 2025, my wife was rushed to a private hospital after suffering a sudden and severe heart failure. She was admitted twice to the medical ward between 17th and 29th June, and then spent the entire month of August in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), fighting for her life.

Thanks to the incredible care she received—and the grace of a generous donor who covered the initial hospital bill—she was discharged on 3rd September 2025 and is now recuperating at home.

But our journey is far from over.

We are members of the Discovery Medical Aid Scheme, under the Essential Delta Core plan, which unfortunately does not cover many of the critical procedures and specialist services she required.

We are now facing additional medical bills from:

  • Cardiologist consultations
  • Lancet Laboratory diagnostics
  • Radiology imaging
  • Post-discharge medications and follow-up care

The total outstanding and expected costs are projected to exceed R500,000.00.

💔 My Story: Trying to Rebuild My Life and Break the Cycle

Hello everyone,

My name is Rapha, and I’m reaching out with faith and hope in my heart. The past five years have been some of the hardest of my life. I lost both of my parents, faced financial hardship, and have dealt with what feels like nonstop bad luck — especially with cars that I depended on to get to work.

One of my vehicles completely broke down while I still had a loan on it. Even though it wasn’t running, I continued making payments until it was fully paid off, because I wanted to do the right thing. Later, I managed to save $2,500 and bought another car — but it quit on me less than a year later. That happened today, and I feel completely defeated.

I’m a hard worker and just need a reliable vehicle to keep my job and continue rebuilding my life. My dream is to get an efficient EV — something dependable that won’t constantly break down and drain my finances. I’m doing everything I can to get out of debt, stay positive, and move forward.

I grew up in poverty, and I’ve always wanted to break that cycle — not just for myself, but so one day I can give back and help others in the same way I’m asking for help now.

If you’re reading this, thank you for taking the time to listen to my story. Any help you can offer, big or small, would mean more than words can say. I truly believe with a little faith and kindness, things can turn around — even in a single day.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for caring, sharing, or helping me take one step closer to getting back on my feet.

With hope and gratitude,
Rapha

Midterms, Registration deadline, and Food :/

I’m a student trying to keep my life together long enough to finish school, and everything’s hitting at once. I’m almost out of gas, behind on rent and other bills, and still trying to figure out how to pay for next semester while making it to midterms in San Marcos this week.

I’m working and doing what I can, but right now I’m tapped out. I don’t need much—just enough to keep my car running, get to class, and stay enrolled. I’ve come too far to fail over money.

If you can help, even a few dollars would mean more than you realize. Thank you for taking the time to read this—it honestly means a lot.

I’m just trying to make it through this midterms and stay in school my last semester and prove my family wrong. I’m struggling but I’m determined.  Anything helps.

Single Mom New Grad Starting Over After A Decade of Abuse

This is very difficult for me, as I’ve always been fiercely independent. I’m a 45-year-old single mom of the most amazing teen boy trying to bounce back after a horrendous marriage to an abusive man. You know the drill. “I can help him be a better person with my love.” Well, I couldn’t. His dual-diagnosed mental illness progressively worsened over the span of our decade-long marriage. I knew a few years ago that I needed to make a plan to get out, so I went back to school. The emotional and financial abuse continued to escalate the closer I came to reaching my goals. With him refusing to keep a job, I was expected to hold the responsibility of paying the bills, buying groceries, and continuing my education. I used my wages to pay our HELOC and my car payment without fail and, unfortunately, the rest had to be placed on credit cards. I did my best to keep up, even as my school demands required me to drop my working hours to 20 hours per week. He ultimately left in a manic episode, telling me that I’m a prostitute and can make it fine on my own. For the past year, I’ve just been scraping by but healing in the absence of the chaos. In recent months, however, I’ve had to repair a broken main water inlet, as well as my car when the transmission went out. I did graduate. I completed my ADN with high honors at a local community college, and currently graduated with my BSN suma cum laude from one of the top 5 Bachelors of Nursing programs in the country. I’ve used my degrees to specialize in psychiatric nursing to help people like my ex-husband, to be a voice of compassion for those patients and for their family members. I’m working for the very psychiatric hospital that has helped him multiple times.  I’ve doubled my salary with my new job, but the compounded interest is killing me. I’m working just as much overtime as I can get, but being autoimmune, I’m not feeling well for the majority of those shifts. Just last week, I worked 65 hours in a five day period. I actually got sent home today due to illness and I’m in tears because I’m giving up an extra $500 on my paycheck just because my body needs to rest. I am doing a debt repayment program. It’s killing my credit score and making me feel like a horrible person when I have to ignore the creditor phone calls “for negotiation purposes.” I’m not that person. I pay my bills and I own up to my responsibilities, but I’m at a loss here. I’ve actually considered selling my home with a rent-back agreement just to find a way out, but it terrifies me. If something were to happen, I would be homeless with a child and seven rescue animals. I know I’m rambling, and I’m sorry. I’m just a mom at her wits end feeling like I’m failing my child. Our graduation trip to Disneyland to celebrate my two graduations and my son’s promotion to high school was canceled because of finances. I had to pull him from one of his taekwondo classes because of finances. I wish I had family to go to, even just to talk things through, but I lost everyone in my twenties. I truly don’t even know why I’m attempting this, but my mom always told me that I needed to stop taking the weight of the world on my shoulders and I needed to learn how to ask for help. So, here I am. I’m asking for help. In the meantime, I’ll be looking for a second job. $100,000 would pay off my revolving debt and my car. $300,000 would also pay off my HELOC that I still share with my ex husband. My ultimate goal is to get out of the HELOC and move so he doesn’t know where I am, so I don’t have to have cameras all over my house anymore, so I don’t have to get the horribly abusive messages and threats from him because we still share this debt. I just need to start over. I truly appreciate it if you’ve read this far. It feels better just to get it off my chest or, as my mom would have said, my shoulders. Even if you can’t help. Have a beautiful day.

Getting afloat to stay afloat

First I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my post. As the title implies I hope i’m not asking for much, due to cut backs and the shut down we have fallen into being due on our bills for several months and have a couple of disconnection notices. The savings i accrude have dried up long ago, and even as i work now the paycheck dissapears every week to these bills that i cant seem to catch up on, making it hard to even get the bare minimum in groceries. Ive added up how much it would take to catch up and it would take about $7000, I am not one to ask for a hand out but short of picking up 2 more jobs i thought id atleast give this site a shot, of coarse every little bit helps and every dime is appreciated. Urgent Help Needed to Stop Foreclosure After HR Layoff $11,775 Needed

Foreclosure has begun on my home, and I am running out of time. I was laid off from my corporate HR job as a Benefits Specialist in April, a role I loved because every day I was able to help employees when they were scared, confused, overwhelmed, or in crisis. It gave me purpose to be the person who cared and who guided them.

Then I became the one who needed help.

Unemployment has not been enough to cover my mortgage and essential bills, and I only have three weeks of unemployment left. The amount needed to stop the foreclosure and bring the mortgage current is $11,775.43. Without it, I will lose my home.

I apply to jobs every day in HR, Benefits, LOA, and Retirement roles. I am consistently told I do not have enough talent acquisition or payroll experience, or that I am overqualified. I am doing everything I can to get back to work, but I will not make it in time without help.

I have applied to every possible assistance option. My credit is not good right now due to this hardship, so getting a loan is not possible at this time. I will work on rebuilding my credit once I am stable, but I do not have enough time to fix that before the foreclosure deadline.

It is extremely humbling to have spent my career helping others and to be now asking for help from strangers. But I do not have another option. I am asking for help to keep my home while I continue to fight to get back on my feet.

Any amount you can give makes a difference right now. If you cannot donate, even sharing this could save my home.

Thank you for reading this and for anything you can do in this urgent moment.

With a heartfelt thanks,

Irene

I need help paying multiple hospital bills

Hi! My name is Molly and I am a young girl trying to get back on her feet after I randomly developed multiple severe autoimmune conditions. I take immunosuppressants which have worsened my asthma and I have thousands of dollars in medical bills and I am having a ton of trouble paying them back and applying for disability. All my savings have been going towards my rent, I haven’t been able to afford food or the supplies I need to recover or even start physical therapy. I am constantly stressing about these things and how much debt I am in that I keep on making myself sicker. I don’t know if this will do anything but under the circumstance that someone wanted to help I thought I would post somewhere although slightly embarrassed. I put 300 for the link only, I would really be happy with even less. Just anything would help. https://py.pl/FVHZkd38rPT0ofZOrB7uhQ

Life Improvement

I have worked hard my whole life, never having to ask for money. Always self-sufficient and proud of it. I never asked my boyfriend for money and have always been fiercely independent. For many decades I worked in a Church to help others. I have recently turned 65 years old. I am now in a different situation myself and need help for myself and my 89 years old mom.

I had been living with my boyfriend for 5 years in a home along with my mom as he originally invited her to live with us. She broke her hip a couple of years ago, got it fixed and just has not been the same since. In the last year she had a little fall but nothing broke but she could not get out of bed anymore. So she has been bedridden for about 10 months now.

The relationship with my boyfriend went really toxic – I had to move as it was also affecting my mom. Her condition aggravated an already on-the-brink relationship.

I did not qualify for a mortgage. I found a mobile home in a park that would work for my mom and I, nice and safe. I did not have money for this so I made an offer to the owner, she agreed. So far we have paid $53,000. I have been doing this since March 2025. I originally put $25,000 down, I borrowed what little money my mom had tucked away herself and then I scrounged up money I had been putting away for a rainy day. So any buffer I had between my mom and I were gone.

I have been struggling very hard each month to get this paid. My mom is on $600 a month social security.  I have $21,000 left to pay the home off and then I can start paying off my credit card debt (another $20,000) to really get rid of my stress.

The company I work at is an upstart and for the last year has not paid very much. I am now looking for other work which I will do. If it wasn’t for my return from the IRS, I would not have been able to make my October payment. I still have insurance, medical and other bills to pay. I had put myself under a credit card handling to condense my payments which is why I did not qualify for a mortgage.

This was an unexpected turn in my life as I had planned on staying with my boyfriend of 10 years the rest of my life. Since this was no longer an option, I had to move quickly to get my mom and I into a safe environment.

I have help from hospice coming in each day for my mom to help change and feed her.

All of this is very stressful and I am hoping to get a little bit of help here, whatever can be done.

If I could get any amount even $5000 or $10,000 for the next 2 payments, I could get the rest paid off working. I could then devote my monthly earned funds directly to my credit card debt and handle that on my own.

Requesting $19,263 tuition financial support for my Marine Biology Eco-Sustainability education

I am asking for financial support and assistance with funding my formal education at Stony Brook University. I am taking advantage of every possible financial program but there is still a $19,263 balance. Thus far, I have been unable to get an approval on any type of additional loan to cover the remaining tuition balance. I am passionate about aquatics and have embarked on my journey to educate myself on marine biology, oceanography and eco-sustainability, while taking advantage of various experiences and opportunities along the way. The ocean is vast and there is still so much unknown and left to discover.
The sixth child out of seven, backed by a single mom trying her best, I knew early I would have to work hard to support myself through school. Committed to working and saving during high school and now through college has gotten me this far and will continue to press forward. However, my hope is to avoid gaps between semesters and avoid missed or lost opportunities. I would have loved to continue playing water polo in college or gaining a scholarship to support my education. However, I also learned most schools lacked the programs focusing on the marine animals and I believe there must be continued research and protocols developed, establishing balance between both the biodiversity and sustainability factors. Hence, the decision and my journey through Stony Brook University began.
It is vital that we achieve the balance necessary to ensure the needs of people are met while also ensuring we are safeguarding the biodiversity of all life ensuring sustainability for future generations. It is my intention to prepare myself through education and experience alongside knowledgeable professionals conducting research and be a part of the solution.
I eagerly welcome the opportunity to join those that have already begun the work of understanding the impacts of climate change and what is occurring in the arctic areas, as it relates and impacts the wildlife. I look forward to the research and contributing to the wildlife libraries and repositories, expanding the knowledge acquired and needed to continue forward motions and doing my part in helping to continue developing the action plans that will drive change. The more we understand the factors that contribute to lost or abandoned fishing gear and building healthy sustainable fisheries, the better control we will have on maintaining the balance.
I appreciate any assistance offered to me. My PayPal link is paypal.me/LenardAquatics.
Thank you in advance for your attention, kindness and generosity.
