Life Improvement

I have worked hard my whole life, never having to ask for money. Always self-sufficient and proud of it. I never asked my boyfriend for money and have always been fiercely independent. For many decades I worked in a Church to help others. I have recently turned 65 years old. I am now in a different situation myself and need help for myself and my 89 years old mom.

I had been living with my boyfriend for 5 years in a home along with my mom as he originally invited her to live with us. She broke her hip a couple of years ago, got it fixed and just has not been the same since. In the last year she had a little fall but nothing broke but she could not get out of bed anymore. So she has been bedridden for about 10 months now.

The relationship with my boyfriend went really toxic – I had to move as it was also affecting my mom. Her condition aggravated an already on-the-brink relationship.

I did not qualify for a mortgage. I found a mobile home in a park that would work for my mom and I, nice and safe. I did not have money for this so I made an offer to the owner, she agreed. So far we have paid $53,000. I have been doing this since March 2025. I originally put $25,000 down, I borrowed what little money my mom had tucked away herself and then I scrounged up money I had been putting away for a rainy day. So any buffer I had between my mom and I were gone.

I have been struggling very hard each month to get this paid. My mom is on $600 a month social security.  I have $21,000 left to pay the home off and then I can start paying off my credit card debt (another $20,000) to really get rid of my stress.

The company I work at is an upstart and for the last year has not paid very much. I am now looking for other work which I will do. If it wasn’t for my return from the IRS, I would not have been able to make my October payment. I still have insurance, medical and other bills to pay. I had put myself under a credit card handling to condense my payments which is why I did not qualify for a mortgage.

This was an unexpected turn in my life as I had planned on staying with my boyfriend of 10 years the rest of my life. Since this was no longer an option, I had to move quickly to get my mom and I into a safe environment.

I have help from hospice coming in each day for my mom to help change and feed her.

All of this is very stressful and I am hoping to get a little bit of help here, whatever can be done.

If I could get any amount even $5000 or $10,000 for the next 2 payments, I could get the rest paid off working. I could then devote my monthly earned funds directly to my credit card debt and handle that on my own.
