My young adult daughter struggling when she just began!

I really am not very good at writing or being able to get exactly what I want to say in a letter, but here goes.

I am a 54 yr old mother of a 20 yr old daughter. Now we have had a rough go at life but we always have been able to get by somehow. I didn’t know that the things that I went through in life would have such a bad impact on my children at the time, and that is something I have to live with and regret.

I was married to my daughters father when I had her and 7 mos later separated. Now I knew it was a mistake to get married because her father was a very mean and violet man, but I let him fill me with empty promises as well as my daughter. My daughter has been through one let down after another when it comes to other people and although I tried my best to give her a good life, I just wasn’t enough. I see now that she definitely has been tortured mentally with all she had to see, hear and endure as far as domestic violence. Unfortunately I tried several times to give her father the chance to be just that “a father’s, and of course it just wasn’t in the cards

Of the 20 yrs of my daughters life he only probably spent or acknowledged her on any given day or holiday (birthdays, Christmas’s) a total of 3 yrs. I don’t quite understand why but it was always if he wasn’t around neither were any person in his family. So needless to say she pretty much only had me and her older brother (from previous relationship) to depend on. All of this has left my daughter harboring a lot of pain and anger. So she was determined to make a life for herself by herself at a young age. She has never been one to ask for anything from anyone unless it was a must. All she has known is that you cannot rely on other people to be there when you need them. It hurts me so but it has made her and I closer than any parent can be with their child.

My daughter recently went through a breakup of a 6 yr relationship and although it was mutual, of course there is still pain. In their agreement they decided that he would take the one vehicle and she to take the apartment. Now though she works full time and makes decent money it really is only paying for her to have a place to call home. We talked about her taking on another person but as she only has as many friends as you can count on one hand it just isn’t something I am willing to bring a stranger into, and even then it will be much harder to save for a car when your constantly paying for a ride back and forth to work, with Lyft alone it’s almost $40 a day. She only has had her apartment for a little over a year and now I fear that she may struggle so as to lose her job if she doesn’t find a vehicle. It’s getting harder and harder to rely on others, and most expensive.

So I am asking for donations and hoping to raise $10,000. The reason I am asking for this is so I can be of some kind of help being I am disabled and have several health issues which have caused me to barely be able to care for myself. I would like to be able to either have a good down payment or be able to buy a nice reliable car outright and also pay for maybe 6mos to 1yr of car insurance so she has some time to get some kind of money saved. The way things are now there isn’t anything left to be able to purchase a car now or in the near future. With this help I believe she can have the opportunity to live without struggling and worrying about how long she will be able to keep her job and her apartment. She has been asked if she is interested in a management position in the future at her job and hopefully that will be when she can have more than all the responsibility she bears on her own right now. If anyone deserves a kindness in this world, my daughter is among them with all that life has thrown at her in the past.

Hi my name is Lisa and I’m in desperate need of a vehicle, I have had the same vehicle for 17 years. Back in 2005 is when I purchased the vehicle. Before that I used to work 50 60 hours a week so I was able to afford to lease vehicles so I was getting a new vehicle every 3 years. On September 17th 2005 one day before my birthday. I had to run to the local grocery store and I was going across the parking lot when I heard my friend shout, “the car is rolling” before i knew it I got pinned between the car that was rolling, and a bumper trailer hitch of a pickup truck and it crushed my leg. My leg was crushed and it’s never been the same since I couldn’t maintain at work. This crushing injury completely turn my life upside down so no more working all those hours no more lease vehicles. So in 2007 I bought a 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo LT I’ve owned that car for 17years. Because being on disability I couldn’t afford to send my car to the shop when it needs to be repaired so I did all the repairs and upkeeps on my car myself. It was a good car for me. Until about 3 weeks ago and it just quit running and I haven’t been able to figure out what is wrong with that I’ve replaced everything I’ve changed everything no code coming up it just doesn’t want to run anymore it’s had a long life. I’m not one to ask for help. I believe in doing everything on my own. This is one thing that I’m not capable of doing and that is figuring out why my car just won’t start anymore I really desperately need a vehicle not just for myself, I take care of my elderly mother as well I take her to doctor’s appointments, shopping, laundry and with my car being down I’m letting my mom down and that is really hard for me to swallow because I’ve taken care of my mom for 23 years I’ve been her Soul Provider her soul caretaker my car breaking down couldn’t come at a worse time. She has several appointments lined up, had them for months now and my car goes I don’t know how I’m going to get her to her appointments.

Hello to all, my name is Sarah Jean. And I am in need of assistance for vehicle repairs. About a week ago, my van overheated and is now inoperable because I can’t keep any antifreeze/coolant in it. I had a mechanic from Meineke look at it and they quoted me a little over $1,000. I went to Meineke because I thought I might have a warranty with them because about 6 months ago, my van had overheated and they repaired it for me by replacing the hose assembly for the antifreeze/coolant. The hoses were deteriorating at that time and I thought I would have no issues with it again for at least a few years. The van is a 2013 with almost 200k miles on it. But sadly, that isn’t the case, the leak has something to do with the housing of the oil pressure sensor I believe, it could be another part and I’m mistaken. I use my vehicle daily in order to provide for my family. I am a single mother to a 17 year old & also an 8 year old girl. We relocated a few years ago to escape my abusive ex. The only family I have outside of my children is my mother, and she doesn’t have much either. However , she did send me what she could. Which was $200 and I used that for groceries and other household necessities and hygiene products. Earlier this year I was doing pretty well financially. Things changed when I had a cancer scare, I gave away a lot of my clients that I cleaned for with my small cleaning service and accepted a position as a restaurant manager. Unfortunately, I’m no longer in that position, I’ve had trouble with finding someone to look after my daughter while I work, especially living somewhere that I don’t really know anyone. I still have a handful of clients that I clean for but without my vehicle, I won’t be able to and that will cause me not to be able to make ends meet. I’ve also been supplementing my income doing food deliveries because I’ve had a tough time marketing for new clients. We have enough groceries to last a week or 2, and I was able to pay December’s rent & utilities with the money I had made before my vehicle broke down. I haven’t started any Christmas shopping so my 8 year old daughter probably won’t have a Christmas this year, luckily my 17 year old understands. But if I am just able to get my vehicle back working, I’ll at least be able to make ends meet for our upcoming expenses. I plan on looking to work an actual job to supplement my cleaning service and so that I am not driving my vehicle into the ground again. I’ll then be able to save up enough money for a down payment so that I can trade my van in or sell it and get something else more mechanically sound. I will say I’ve tried for a loan but I’ve been declined for everything besides payday loans. Which only offered $800 and the repairs would be greater than that amount. I’d also have no way of repaying them for at least a month or two. If anyone is able and willing to help me, I would greatly appreciate it! I’ll definitely do my part to pay it forward when I’m back to being in a better position. Hello, my name is Raquel, I’m in desperate need of help to get my car fixed. In 2019 I was blessed to be given a 1999 Mazda Protege, a gift from my grandma. I took very good care of my car and kept up with proper maintenance. I loved it so much, and I appreciated it, so I kept it in pristine condition and, because my grandma gave it to me, it meant a lot to me. Unfortunately, I had gotten into an abusive relationship where I was abused mentally, emotionally, and physically. He knew how much that car meant to me so he made sure to disrespect it any chance he got. When I met him my car was in perfect condition and throughout our relationship he had not only purposefully put dings and dents in it but I had to replace a busted-out windshield and slashed tires. A lot of times he would take my keys from me and the physical abuse was so bad that it was just easier to let him take the car than to deal with the fight. Many people would tell me about how he would drive my car recklessly and be rough on it, doing burnouts and pulling the E brake. Not only could you tell by the appearance of the vehicle that it had intentionally been run into the ground but it was starting to run rough and I was afraid it wasn’t going to last much longer. It broke my heart because not only was it all that I had but it was a gift from my grandma and I never wanted to disrespect her like that. Luckily I was able to get out of the abusive relationship. I moved back in with my grandma and was able to start working again, in which I had made enough money to take care of a few very overdue but much-needed maintenance on my vehicle. I found out that my abusive ex had messed with my spark plugs and spark plug wires, and that my vehicle wasn’t even running on all cylinders! I bought all brand new plugs and wires and had them all replaced properly and my car was running so much better. Next, I was going to do an oil change so I purchased the proper oil and a brand new filter I was on my way to work and all of a sudden my car decided to overheat, seize up, and die on me. This is my everyday transportation I used to commute to work, go grocery shopping, door dash, pick up prescriptions, etc. I had it looked at and I’m looking at anywhere from $1500-$2500 in car repairs, there’s no way I can afford it or get myself a new vehicle. I take care of my grandma at home and I can’t even go grocery shopping for us. I really could use some assistance. I can’t even get to work, I’ve been so stressed. I really don’t know where to begin…

    I suppose the best place would be when I went from the top of the world to beginning of the nightmare that i’m currently living. But don’t get me wrong, I know I have it a lot better than some. I am truly grateful for all I have and even have had that is gone now. 

    I had been working at a parts manufacturer company for several months and I loved my job. All the bosses loved me because I’m such a hard worker. I feel like anything that I do I’ve got to give it all I’ve got. You can tell a lot about someone by the work that they do. I like to know that if only one person is needed for some important job where attention to detail is key that I’ll be the one. Anyways, I was offered a full time position at this company with great pay and full benefits.

I went to get my physical and I passed it with flying colors. I was getting a permanent position the next day. I was so excited. Then the next day I clocked in and went for the morning safety meeting and we were all sent home for the pandemic. I was heart broken! Well the next year or so I was working for myself and barely making enough to make a profit. Then it was like I couldn’t make a dollar without spending two dollars. Not long after that my car broke down. If course it was the only transportation I had. And to make it worse I live out in the middle of nowhere. I couldn’t get my car back to my house for almost 2 months. I was able to barely make it to a “friend’s” driveway. I thought I was fortunate to have made it there. But when I went to pick it up it was bad… they couldn’t siphon the gas out so the literally took my gas tank off so they could get every drop. Then put a bag of sugar in it. They stole my radio of course. They ripped the door skin off to get the door speaker out. They even stole the speaker wires and the power wires. Headlights. Yup, gone. Fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor, spark plug wires, ignition, ignition key, both brand new car batteries. Hard wired inverter for the work I was doing. All my mechanics tools. Now I’m without a ride so I can’t get my job back. And to make it worse, the guy that stole some of it found out that I filled a police report so he broke into my house while I was asleep and assaulted me. Fractured my orbital floor and I had to have surgery. Now I’m so far behind its crazy. But I’m not expecting or asking for money to pay all of that. I need a car but I have a nice Acura Integra and I would really rather fix it. I can do the work myself so that will save me most of the expense. 2500.00 would have it back on the road and me back on the job. Hi my name is Dottie Ransom and I live in AL with a terrible disease that’s literally trying to twist my limbs and causes me to swell and fill up with fluid.

I remember when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis at 15 I never realized how severe this would impact my life, but now that I don’t have reliable transportation to get to all the Drs appt that I have I really feel hopeless.

I wish I had my family’s support but unfortunately I lost my step dad in 2014 then found my mother laying face down in her bedroom floor but I was too late and my heart broke to pieces, then a year later I get a call that my brother had died of a heroin OD. So I can’t reach out for family bc they’re all gone.

I’m asking for 5000 or a reliable car so I can continue to get to the doctors appts. I have to treat my Ra and try to figure out what’s causing me to fill up with this fluid I’ve been in the hospital 4 times where they’ve drained 8 liters out of my abdomen and lungs. The last time I was admitted the doctor came in and told me I had ovarian cancer and sent my to a cancer specialist that has so far not found any signs of the cancer I had been diagnosed with. Which is great news but omg I sat in there a month believing I was going to die of cancer.

Hi, my name is Chase. I am 23 years old, and my vehicle is past being reliable. Now, my situation may not be as important as others, but I really need help and have no other options. I currently drive a 2011 Chevy Equinox with oil consumption issues. Along with that, it has a clogged catalytic converter that throws me a check engine light. I work in the car service industry, and talking to my fellow technicians, my vehicle is not going to last me and I am going to run into the issue of blowing up my engine.
Now, I have never been lucky with vehicles as I am sure most people haven’t. I have had 4 cars since the age of 16, and most of them have had engine issues shortly after receiving the vehicle. My first vehicle I ran into a deer going 80 MPH (I was 16 and dumb for speeding down a country road) and totaled my first car. The second and the third, engine problems. Second one the engine seized, and my third blew a hole in the engine block. After my bad luck, my grandparents (who have always helped me out even when they couldn’t afford to) loaned me a vehicle through a dealership. My current vehicle. Now, we still owe on this vehicle saying I have only had it a year and a couple months. I have been paying the loan off through them, and I found out I still owe over 9 grand. My car is maybe worth 2 grand, so even if I attempt to try and trade it in I would have 7 grand in negative equity and I have nothing to put as a down payment for a new, reliable car. I make enough to pay for my car, and to pay for a new loan, but I want to completely pay off this car so I can start fresh and use it as a down payment on a new car. Truthfully, I am asking for 10 grand, but, I know that is not always feasible and so any amount would help my situation. Getting this car off my chest would relieve so much of my stress. I work 60+ hours a week, and trying to make ends meet along with trying to pay off my vehicle sooner with whatever I can throw towards the cost each week takes a toll on me everyday. I am going to be moving in with my boyfriend within the next couple months, and in doing so it is going to turn my 8 minute drive to work into a 30 minute drive that my vehicle will not be able to endure. It is hard enough trying to go see him and my family because I try to drive as little as possible. Like I stated before, my problem isn’t as big as most people, but it is a huge life altering issue and I need help. Please.
