Will and Shine

Good day to all,

I turn to you this day as others and the lord knows I did try not to come this platform. Today, I’ve come to find that my source of transportation needs an engine replacement. As this came as a shock to me. There were no obvious signs of this type of failure. I hadn’t started it in a while and it was known that other important work was necessary.

Of course, there is a history to this part of life.

In March this year, my work was terminated due to management issues. The pay was good and on time while the project was ongoing and until just before our two week break. The last two pay periods were awkward. As it was the first time we hadn’t received the pay on-time. The next payment was received late as well and on this occasion it was also short. Thank the most high that we had another week complete when it was time for our break.

Anyway, we returned to our homes respectively expecting to be paid as we were told before heading home. My pay would take about a month and a half to get to me in which case I could not now pay rent. As they would give small portion after being home three weeks then two weeks later a little more. Never paying my full pay at once. In any case this caused me to lose our house about mid-April. We ended up in hotels while I could attempt odd jobs to feed them. More…

At about three weeks later I fractured my foot second thing in the morrow. March 7th, it happened. The next day I realized standing on two feet was not an option. So very thankful that it did not necessitate surgery. We found that we could save by staying at campgrounds for a period. Yet, by this time were clearly beyond low budget. Now, work was not an option for me & this all happened so fast. Losing the house is one thing and was very hard on my family. The children of course thought it was fun. We don’t inform them we don’t live anywhere. We teach them to be greatful that we are covered sometimes. Also that we can eat sometimes.

Now, my bone is healing well and we’ve decided to try to get me back working and…here we are this day. Of course, now the cold season is upon us again. Without the car I now cannot provide heat.

Thank you for your time, patience & sincere consideration.

GET MY VEHICLE OUT THE SHOP

Retrieve Car From Shop

My name is Mary and I’m a hard working Mother of two children 8 and 18. Back in July I purchased what I thought was a perfect dream car for me and my two children at the time I was working for a cleaning company (which is far from my normal field of work ) I’ve always held clerical / customer service positions, But after going through a ruff patch I had to take anything I could get to keep a roof over our head and food on the table which every month was a juggling act of what bill would be neglected or what would be late , Back to the story of me purchasing what I thought was my dream car back in July prior to that I had a 20 year old car that was over heating and breaking down almost EVERYTIME WE GOT IN IT, But because my kids depends on me and I’ve never gave up I took that chance driving it daily so that I could make money for my children , One day ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH finally me and my 8 year old son broke down on the highway during rush hour traffic which was so scary and one of the worse days of my life . The next month following I neglected several other bills just to get me and my children reliable transportation and started calling and visiting several car lots with only $1000 to my names and bad credit praying that someone would give me a chance . Finally in July I found a buy here pay here that I felt was a god send , I don’t know much about cars, But they were willing to work with less than perfect credit and accept the down payment of only $1000 which was every penny I had left to my name. After taking the car on a test drive the car ran what I thought was perfect I didn’t notice anything off or strange we signed the paperwork and drove off to celebrate this was Friday come Monday my car was locking up on me as soon as I got off the highway I felt gut punched and so much despair I couldn’t believe what was happening to me ! I’m such a good person a kind hearted person a hard working person I don’t have much but I always give what I have and what I thought was a dream turned into a nightmare right before my eyes . After calling the car lot they was rude to me and cold to me and basically told them to call my warranty company. I was able to borrow the money to have my car towed to a Ford dealership and I did call the warranty company that said they would have to take the car apart to do a diagnostic and that they also send an agent out . Come to find out my engine was completely blown which was an issue prior to me purchasing the car given I didn’t have the car a full 48 hours before it breaking down . Long story short the warranty company was only able to cover a fraction of what the Ford dealership billed me for the bill for the engine replacement and a few small other things was over $5000 the amount the covered and the balance still due is $2500 however I haven’t had a dime extra since this happened as well as still being charged a car payment for a vehicle I only had from Friday to Sunday. I really really really need my vehicle back to stop catching rides and to get back on track not to mention I’m just starting a new job, But it will require me to travel a lot and I won’t be able to be dropped off and picked up . Everyday especially with the season changing I’ve had horrible anxiety and worry and a Pitt in my stomach wondering what can I do to get my car out . It’s not that I don’t work hard I work very long hours and I’m underpaid by the time I’m home I have enough time to cook dinner for my boys shower and go to bed . I’m hard working and very underpaid and I don’t make enough to save the money because every week I’m short on the bills I currently have always having barely enough to survive .  If anyone can find it in their heart to bless me with retrieving my vehicle now that the engine has been fully replaced and finally a reliable car it would mean more than the world to me . I’ve always been to ashamed or to prideful to ask for help and that’s why I’ve waited this long , But I’m human and I truly and deeply need help . I’m doing my very best and right now it’s just not good enough to get my car back alone . Again if anyone could find it in their heart to help me it would mean more than the world to me and would be the greatest act of kindness I’ve ever received. My car has been ready for pickup I just don’t have the $2,500 to pick it up. Thank you !

Disabled Veteran Needs Jeep Repaired

Good Day,

I have a 1969 Jeep CJ5 with a lot of missing parts and would really like to get her on the road. I’ve had her transmission and t-case rebuilt, but they are not hooked up. She needs drive lines, brake lines, shocks, mufflers and other stuff that are missing. Seems like a lot of work, and I do not have the tools or parts to get it done. She would have to be towed and possibly be stored temporarily until assembled.
Is there a chance that some of you guys can help?I’m an old, fucked-up paratrooper on fixed income, looking forward to having transportation and independence.

Thank you for your consideration,
Mark Alan Ramp

I Need help repairing my car and help my family

Hello .

I am a 53  year old man in need of financial help to take care of my wife and daughter and get me back on my feet. I was laid off  work about 10 months ago when my company made a ‘business decision’ to close the office I worked for over 3 years. Since then I have had job interviews, but never received second call, until about 3 weeks ago, when I started a new Job. All the while I was out of work, my wife has been helping with all the expenses and I was complementing with my rideshare (Lyft) business and also using my credit card to take of things in the house. Now to work on my care as the tires are worn, my driving shaft is making some horrible noise and I was told by the technician during my last check that I needed to change my brake pads i have a total estimate of about $ 4,200.00 for these repairs alone. I am hoping that the is some one out there that will help get back on my feet as i will have a care to help my family get back on track as  complement my wife with my new job and my rideshare business. My actual goal is for a donation of about $6,500 to enable pay down my credit card also that I have used to help me during this period. Thank you very much for your anticipated help and may the good Lord bless you

my pay pal  link is www.paypal.me/gamboyd and my paypal link is $gamboyd

Thank you once again for your help.

My Daughter Tore Up My Car

I let my daughter use my car to work, because she didn’t have one and I wasn’t using it too much I had available transportation to get me back and forth to where I needed to go so I let her use my car to go to work; She also didn’t have a place to stay of her own, she and I were living with my other daughter and my other daughter put her out so she didn’t have a place to stay either so she was sleeping in my car and using it to go to work  for 6 months. By the time I picked it up the front bumper, and fender was hanging off, the right side view mirror was broke, and the rear view mirror is broke, there are dents on one side of the car that doesn’t allow the door to open all the way, and there is a dent in the back of the of the trunk. I am 70 years old with a limited income, and currently homeless looking for a place to live. My goal is to get stable somewhere and start working on my business again that I’ve started two years ago. I haven’t made any money from it so far, because I’ve had so many set backs and it took awhile to learn the business. It’s a  surplus overage business and what I do is research records, and contact people that have had foreclosures and let them know that they have a surplus to collect from the county where there property was foreclosed. Then I get them under contract and they get paid from the county where there property was foreclosed. This total cost of parts and labor to replace will be a total of $ 1,500 that I need. I appreciate your help with all my heart and thank God for your favor.

Need A Car!

Greetings! I am in need of a car because my car no longer works. A week ago, (September 20, 2023), is when my car stopped working 😔. I need a car to get to work and to go see about my ailing Mother. She lives nearly 30 minutes from me. She is almost 80 years of age and took a fall 4 months ago and has been slowly recovering because she also has additional problems with her health and she needs me to help her get to her medical appointments. I can’t do the many things that I do in a day because I don’t have my car anymore, like food & household shopping in addition to the already mentioned tasks that I need a car to do. I was told to come here to explain my situation and to ask for help. I have hope that someone will answer my need and assist me. It would be such a huge burden lifted from my shoulders to have the ability to get a car to replace the one I had. And I literally have the effects of this stressful matter in the area of my neck and shoulders, so on top of needing a car, I need a deep tissue massage! 😀 So I am asking urgently for an able and kind person to extend their helping hand to my situation. May you be lead to my aid.

I live In a SafeRest Village & They let my car get vandalized, now deny responsibility.

So my story starts like a lot of others’ do here in Portland, I’m homeless. And I’m currently on, at least, a couple dozen housing lists. I have been for several years now. But as of now, I have made a somewhat decent life for myself, as much as I could living out of my car. I’ve come up with a fairly profitable Canning route, and was able to save enough for a safe car Now at this point all I needed help with was actual housing! It seemed like a dream come true, running into a friend who told me about Allgood, and they’re “Safe Rest Village downtown. So, naturally, I jumped at the chance at temporary housing, until I came up on the housing lists. I moved in 14 long months later(I ironically was put on another waitlist to get into the village), and lived there until the whole site had to move up to Multnomah Boulevard, just behind Barber Safeway. Reason being, the staff felt unsafe, because of the gunshots happening every half hour. Fair enough. I remember the area, and t neighborhood, close to a grocery store. So I moved with everyone.

Now, everything was amazing, for the first nine months at the downtown location. Upon arrival at the new “safer” area, my spirits were soaring! Everything was coming together for me, all the hard work id been putting in was starting to pay off in under 2 years, I’d put myself in position to be a productive member of our society again, I couldn’t of been more proud of myself! I was in the last hurdle of turning my life around. What started off as shamefully collecting cans out of peoples’ trash’s, had led me to a variety of other odd jobs, that the members of the community’s were blessing me with. I no longer was embarrassed. or harassed, when I arrived in the neighborhoods was still canning in. I was lucky enough to now have an income 6 days a week, where made-$35 a day, that is the daily limit allowed for turning in cans. Yet also had steady odd jobs on 5 of the 6 days a week. And I now owned my 2008 BMW X5 SUV free and clear! (It helped that I got family price on vehicle cost, so about a third of bluebook had just moved into the final stop before getting affordable housing! Since there was no “guide on how to get yourself out of the gutter”. I was definitely more than proud of myself.

That was until the 3rd day at “Multnomah Safe Rest Village”. I was told that if I didn’t park my vehicle a block down the street, at the end of an unlit gravel road, that Allgood was going to have my car towed! Then I was told that where I was parked, along with everyone else, was a ‘Firelane’. So after work, I parked where I was told to, by the Director and Case Manager. When doing so, I was a bit confused because no other cars were parked where I was now.. not only were they not parked there, they were all now parked in EXACT spot I was told I couldn’t park! Now, since it was later in the evening, and 2nd shift village staff was now on.. I was going to have to wait until morning to see why I was the only one who had to park off grounds! Irritated, and tired, I stalked off to bed.

The next morning, I was horrified to find my vehicle had been broken into, not only broken into but they had ransacked and destroyed just about everything in and on it. The messages left on my seats and dash, written in what I guessed was white paint, said un- kind things like “DIE HOMELESS FUCKS” “Go back to where you came from!” “die, die, die” “HA HA HA” “Fuck off!!” And, if that wasn’t enough, my backseat had been completely ripped out, and by doing so, that gave access to my fuel tanks, which were drained dry. Along with that, my transmission line(Sliced open) and both catalytic converters had been cut out. The Fan, and the entire radiator, were gone. The hood latch was busted off. And the drivers side window was missing. Among various other small things… I took a few pictures, then I got myself together and returned to the village, where I told staff and made a police report. Upon showing staff (the director walked down there and saw all of this) he told me to park my car back where it had been parked the very day before. I asked “How can I park there if it’s a Fire Lane? Won’t I get towed? And besides that, my car is undrivable. Hey, maybe I will need that tow after all!” My attempt at a joke didn’t make it far.. I was informed that was untrue, it was not now, nor had it ever been, a Firelane… What?

At that time, I was told not to worry! Allgood would take care of all of the damages involving my car. And for awhile it kind of looked like they were following through! A local garage came and fixed the drivers side window, and stated that’s all they could do, because they were just a body shop. I was asked how much I thought it would cost to fix everything I said “More than I paid for sure.” What needs fixed, that I’m aware of, is the fuel tanks, back seats, interior dome lights, tow package, transmission line, complete exhaust, hood release latch, radiator/fan, and various hoses, along with the entire interior replacment..

The Director, to this day, has not said one word to me about what’s going on. The last time we talked was when he returned from a vacation.. he pulled me aside after the Wendsday Community Meeting, and told me that “he’d been gone, but was now back!” And it’d all get “taken care of.” That was over a year ago. On the 9th of October 1 filed a grievance, where I asked for an update, or financial payment for the value of my car? Also 35$ per day that I’ve now been unable to work. I need my car to transport cans to the bottledrop, but also for the other odd jobs. Not a word. I asked how does the grievance procedure work? I was told that the Director probably tore it up, and that’s it. My car is still sitting outside the fence to this day, where we were able to pull it too, with the help of another villager.

Now none of this is my fault, I had my car downtown for over a year and never once was it touched. Had they not forced us into an area that once housed sex offenders, an area that they neglected to tell us, was literally run to the ground by the surrounding community, because they didn’t want them here. It would have been really nice to know that the community was against us moving here. But now, instead of my life moving forward, I’m now 100 steps behind, & nowhere closer to having a home.

That’s my story… But I have a few things to add;

All good claims to house people, right? Then how, out of the 30-40 people here, has only 1 moved out in over a year? And that 1 person actually paid for his apartment with his SSI checks.

Allgood has also recently gotten in trouble for overcharging their accounts, and possibly stealing, or using their funded money for anything other than housing people.

Allgood, in my opinion, is just another “NonProfit” saying they want to “help”, receiving funding, taking the money and using it on themselves. Doing anything and everything except getting people housed, and helping people. They’ve completely destroyed everything I was working towards.

So I’ve just stumbled across this website, and the funds I need to either replace or fix my car Is around ~$12,000. I have pictures from that day, If you’d like to see them? It’s worth a shot, right?

desperately need a new car

Hello,
My name is Audrey and I live in the Minnesota, USA. First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this request. I do value your time and consideration.
Few months ago, my car broke down and a friend of mine was kind enough to lend me one of her cars, which has been of tremendous help to me. However, I need to return it soon and I do not have enough funds to get a decent car that can hold for the next few years. In fact, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, it has been hard for me to recover financially and make ends meet.
In addition to getting a new car, I resume my student loans repayment in October. I have medical bills to pay and I need to travel back home (Cameroon) to visit my father who has been critically sick for a while. Though all the above mentioned are all priorities to me, I believe that getting a car is the first I should tackle.
This is the reason why: prior to getting the car that I am currently using, I had two jobs. Unfortunately, I had to quit one. There were days that I would work both jobs and needed to catch the bus in between. However, the bus was not always on time, which caused me to show up late to my second job multiple times. That is the reason why I decided to quit instead of being a burden to my fellow coworkers.
Working only one job has significantly reduced my income. With a car, I will be able to get another job, provide for myself, and get the money I need for the other things on my list. So far, I have been able to save $2,000 but I need a total of $9,500 to get the car that I desire to buy from another friend of mine. He is selling a Toyota Rav 4 in good condition and with low mileage. It will be very helpful given the harsh winters that we get in Minnesota.
This is my story and I truly value the time you have taken to read. Thank you in advance for your generosity and any donation you will decide to give to this cause.

Please Help, am a new mom, I sincerely need a car to be able to go back to work

Becoming a new mom has brought joy and challenges into my life in equal measure. The responsibilities of caring for my precious bundle of joy are immeasurable, but they come with the added weight of providing for our family. As I prepare to return to work, the need for a reliable car has become paramount. The daily commute to my workplace has suddenly become a logistical puzzle that requires careful planning and execution.

The moment I held my baby in my arms for the first time was a life-altering experience. Those tiny fingers and innocent eyes filled my heart with immense love and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. The sleepless nights, endless diaper changes, and round-the-clock feedings are a testament to the sacrifices that motherhood demands. Yet, amidst all these challenges, I am reminded of the importance of financial stability and providing a secure future for my child.

Returning to work was always part of the plan, and I knew that balancing a career and motherhood would be challenging. However, I was not prepared for the complexities that would arise when it came to transportation. Our current situation leaves us without a reliable car, and this has become a pressing issue. Public transportation is an option, but the limited schedules and the need to carry baby supplies make it impractical. It is clear that having a car would not only simplify our daily routine but also ensure my baby’s safety and comfort during our commute.

The search for the perfect car for our family has become a journey of its own. Safety is my top priority, and As a new mom, I need a vehicle that offers ample space for a car seat and baby gear, making every journey a comfortable and stress-free experience for my little one. Fuel efficiency is another important consideration, as it will help us manage our expenses and reduce our carbon footprint.

Financing a car as a new mom can be daunting, especially with the added expenses of diapers, formula, and baby clothes. I have been diligently saving and exploring financing options to make this dream a reality.
The thought of driving my baby to daycare or pediatrician appointments fills me with anticipation and a touch of anxiety. The freedom and convenience of having our car will not only make my daily work commute smoother but also enable us to explore new adventures together as a family. It is a symbol of independence and the ability to provide for my child, and I am determined to make it happen.

In the midst of sleepless nights and endless baby giggles, the pursuit of a car to facilitate our journey into the world as a new family is a significant milestone. As a new mom, I understand the importance of being prepared for the unexpected, and having a reliable car is an essential step in that direction. It represents the bridge between the demands of motherhood and the responsibilities of providing for my family, ensuring that we can navigate this new chapter in our lives with confidence and grace. Thanks everyone who can help.
