Back in 2013, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and Bursitis in both hips which makes it difficult to stand and even sleep. This year has been difficult, back in January 2024, I blacked out while in my kitchen trying to get something to eat. I got dizzy and lightheaded and the next thing I knew, I blacked out and fell on the kerosene heater and scalding hot water fell on my left shoulder leaving me with second-degree burns. I sat in the hospital for over 6 hours and was never seen by a doctor. The next day I went to my primary care doctor, and she sent me to a wound care doctor. Two weeks later I blacked out again but this time it was in my bedroom, and I landed beside the space in my room that I was using to heat my room. My mom saw that my light was on in my bedroom and decided to check on me she found me on the floor. When I looked down at my leg, I noticed that my left leg was burned very badly to the point it was bubbling. I started taking care of my left leg like wound care took care of my arm. A week later my leg started having a fever in it and it was at that time I needed professional help, so I went to the emergency room and was there for twelve hours until they shipped me off to the burn unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital. While at the hospital I had 4 surgeries to repair my left leg. At this point, standing for long periods and climbing steps is very difficult. I did 17 years in the navy but 6 months before my naval career came to an end my wife filed for divorce. She took my two sons and sued me and essentially took everything I had. I haven’t seen my kids in almost 6 years and most of my money went to child support and attorneys. I find myself so depressed these days it hard to get out of bed. I have been so depressed I don’t even enjoy my hobbies anymore. The only thing that keeps me going is setting goals and accomplishing them. Lately I have been driving for a company called roadie. Im asking for anyone to help my Mother’s restaurant. On May 9th, a power line company by the name of Micheals Power Inc came to the building where my mother has her restaurant unannounced. They gave a notice just a couple hours before they cut off the power and said they would turn the power back on in two hours. When working on the power lines, there was a complete power surge in the restaurant and all of the fridges, freezers and machines completely burned out beyond repair. In addition to that, not only did my mother lose almost all of her equipment but everything inside. All of the meats, frozen produce, fish, fresh produce, and dairy products had to be thrown away. With the equipment and loss of goods the total loss is minimum 50k. Due to the power surge, it resulted in revenue loss for our small family business.
