I have never asked anyone for money, so this is a very difficult thing for me to do. I feel uncomfortable even writing this request. I would not say that I am flat on my face, but I am beginning to feel a bit financially constrained. Recently I had decided to start my own business, and the startup costs are becoming more than I anticipated. On top of that there are a few family members that depend on me when they are in a bind. Recently my uncle was in the hospital because he had an accident while working with a tool, so his hand is in a sling, and he will not be able to get any income for a few weeks. I had to send him some money to cover his expenses. My savings are starting to get depleted because I do not like to be in debt, so I did not take out a loan to start the business. I have my own expenses to cover, and I feel so pressured to handle my affairs as well as to try and help my family. I am also frustrated because my capacity is limited, and I cannot get to assist in the way that I would like with all that is needed. It is taking a toll on me. I try not to complain or let them know how burdened I feel. If something happens to me, I must help myself because no one else can help me. I am my own contingency plan. I just want to be able to be there for my family and take care of my obligations without fear of my account going to zero.

I want to get my business off the ground, but it is not completely set-up, and I am already incurring recurring expenses. The paycheck that I get goes towards covering expenses of the business as well as other expenses such as rent, insurance, etc. I do not get to put away much to an emergency fund. I am seeking $150,000 to build and grow my business, and a part of it will be used to pay rent and the expenses of my family. This funding will carry the business a long way. I’ve long since had the desire to initiate and grow a business as an entrepreneur, creating an e-commerce brand, designing graphics for other small businesses, and learning about real estate investing and wholesaling.  I’ve completed approximately 80% of the document processes but still have to create a strong Google and social media presence, obtain business credit, mentoring, and coaching to fully execute and establish myself as a bona fide businesswoman.

SHORT TERM BUSINESS GOAL # 1:

I am a new business owner seeking donations to grow my business.  I intend to create both a Shopify and Etsy store to sell a small line of clothing items for adult women and men and ultimately expand to children’s attire.   The proceeds from my sales will be utilized to fund a community initiative to create a PSA Board on a 24/7 loop to dissuade misguided youth from embarking upon paths of destruction as a way to take back our community by reaching out and drawing those individuals back in by encouraging and supporting a mission to foster positive activities that will enable them to better prepare for a positive and prosperous future.  I’d like to also work closely with other community activists as well as a part of the initiative to further drive awareness and provide the necessary resources to those said youth in need.

LONG TERM BUSINESS GOAL #2:

Two years ago, I established an LLC with the intent to renovate my current owner-occupied property of nearly 24 years and flip it as a rental property.  Doing so would have enabled me to establish financial freedom from the 9-5 as well as generational wealth and legacy.  While funding was plentiful during the pandemic and I was able to receive some grant funding, I was never able to successfully complete my business establishment in its entirety nor successfully complete my renovation projects as funding was received was limited and ultimately depleted prior to all renovation completions.   I also lost a total of $27K due to a scamming contractor and a botched siding job on my home.  The siding job was financed for $17K as to free up the capital to complete my full-gut kitchen renovation.  As I was unemployed at this time for over nine months, I essentially had to live off the remaining funds I had and the financed loan for the siding job has now been sent to collections critically impacting my credit.  I had to discontinue payment as the contractors still have yet to correct the botched installation to date.  I reached out to multiple law offices for counsel, and no one would take my case essentially saying there was no case based on the info provided.  I’ve saved what I could and have completed some of the smaller projects but the larger projects, I just don’t have the capacity to complete them given that I’m currently unemployed yet again and have struggled to obtain gainful employment on multiple occasions over the last 20 years with a more than sustainable income.  Saddened as a result because my goal was to have paid off my mortgage 10-15 years ago.  Pressed for cash, I’ve paid into multiple online courses to supplement and secure passive income including career coaches, life coaches, business coaches, Forex, real estate investing, tax consulting, real estate broker, life insurance, and most recently an online prep course to sit for the Human Resources Senior Certified Professional Certification to offset or yet upgrade my bachelor’s degree in HR.  Sadly, once the courses conclude or you’re no longer able to continue to pay these online gurus their exorbitant fees to continue mentorship your membership is canceled or access to the website’s resources are disabled, and all your investments are up in smoke. I’ve recently created a new LLC and have decided to get creative in finishing what I started.

My community located in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood borders the forthcoming home of former President Obama’s honorary Library site.  It’s been talks that post the finalization of that fully constructed site, real estate investors are looking to buy up as much property in this neighborhood putting current residents at risk for gentrification.  To protect my investment, it is my intent to renovate my home to capacity so that if we face the unfortunate experience of being forced out of our properties, I can get the highest return possible.  While I don’t intend to sell but rather utilize this residence as a rental property as aforementioned, I am in need of the funds to complete the necessary renovations.  So I am writing this letter specifically seeking donations to fund those costs. It is imperative that my own initiative will also encourage other property owners not just in my immediate community but in others also to do the same.  I’d also eventually like to buy an abandoned property or two and auction them off to deserving families each holiday once, I gained my financial footing creating a passive income in real estate investing.

I am not big on the celebration aspect of the holiday season but one that takes pride in the importance of making kind and generous gestures to those less fortunate as I was once homeless for a year.  Unless you’ve been one to experience being without the bare essentials and no roof over your head you could never imagine what it’s like. I went from homeless to homeowner in five years at the age of 30.  Each year I give up to five industrial-size garbage bags filled with clothing, shoes, toiletries, and household goods to the Salvation Army and I also randomly seek out an individual in either the grocery store, Walmart or Target and offer to pay $100 on their shopping cart.  People often take for granted that’s what is to be celebrated – Goodwill, not the gift giving/receiving.   I’d like to also start a Holiday Tradition @ Walmart and Target stores each year for the “Ring the Bell, Jingle Bells” initiative to randomly bless one or two shoppers each year with either $500 or $1000 shopping cart awards.

My goal is to raise up to raise in both donations/sponsorship or business funding in the amount $100K.

My name is Josh I never beg or seek handouts, but unfortunately I have been hit by repeated trials recently with the difficulties which many have been hit by. I recently needed to leave south Florida due to the excruciating rising costs of living, I have recently relocated to West Tennessee to live with my GF/ Future wifes family. I had to make this move due to south florida becoming overly expensive and me being squeezed out of local markets where I sold my products for my business due to market hosts deciding to choose friends and hobbiests over myself and my business. Collapsing my income from a living and growing wage to almost nothing and I unfortunately have not been able to locate work to properly sustain myself and do not wish to be a burden on my GFs family. I am also unfortunately waiting on a small inheritance from my previous mentor in which I worked and caregave for 8yrs due to him falling ill with dementia, which has been now held up now for almost 2 years due to others involved feeling they are entitled to more money than they are receiving. I moved here to Tennessee where it is cheaper living in order to work at building a future life for my future wife and myself, but unfortunately have not been able to find any sort of work yet and haven’t had an easy time rebuilding my business due to the lack of outlets here. Unfortunately all of my capital has been drained between moving expenses, cost of living and by marketing people who took my money and did not execute the jobs they said they could do in order to try to grow my online sales. I just need some help and assistance to rebuild back onto my feet so I can help provide to my GFs family to help carry my expenses while I work to rebuild my business or find adequate work while I wait on my inheritance to then have the cash needed to invest into mine and my families future. I write to you this morning at 10:07am on 11/29/2023 from somewhere in Pennsylvania. I live in a nice neighborhood & Its peaceful and quaint. I have lived here since i was 17. My grandparents raised me and did the best they could. They took me & my sister out of the North Philadelphia ghetto where it was dangerous & worse present day. Currently i am now employed but want more from life. I never went to college, never went to trade school. I did attend a music voice coach at one point because i loved singing. Tried to make it in the industry & came close but never achieved. Now i am 49 & I have two children and i want more for myself to provide more for my family as well. I feel empty because of not fulfilling something in my life that i can be happy about. I want to be free of this feeling that saddens me everyday of not achieving something financially.  One day i got interested in wanting to own a multifamily unit!  Where i reside the building of 9 / 3 bedroom 1 bath units were being sold. Right then and there it clicked… buy to hold for passive income so i tried to buy them with this being my first time, nervous and without a clue of what i was doing. Well long story short the new owner had asked me if i could get $5000 as an earnest money deposit and if i did he would help me. Now its been over 8 months since then and i told him 3 months before that i was unable to get the $5k. I am hoping that if i am still able to obtain the $5k that he will be willing to still help me gain profit to build with in order to obtain a building. Whether its 4 units, 8 units, 14 units preferably.. i just want to own at least one. So… i have been researching trying to study about it, I came to a point where i took the steps on my own determination to call a private lender, Credit lender, and to my surprise i was halted because i did not have the funds to take the next step! My funds are very limited. I only make about rough estimate $40,000 a year. Where i live it  is over populated and rents are high. But great place to invest! I am a caretaker for elderly people. So it really does not pay much. I have tried other outlets for loans and friends but all have denied me. I have poor credit now ever since interest rates skyrocketed. I could not afford it! Hello! This is my first time ever doing something like this, but desperate times calls for desperate measures. I am currently renovating my first investment property. I bought it myself in cash in 2021. I used my money to put a new roof on the house and then had to hold off continuing renovations because I ran out of money. In August, I was finally able to qualify for loans to complete the renovations. The renovation costs exceeded my loans and unfortunately I keep getting turned down for additional funding. I have applied to grants with no luck, tried getting lines of credit with no luck. My mom loaned me some money to help and I’m truly grateful for that and will be paying her back once the house is completely renovated. I have personally maxed out my credit cards and the business cards I do have to complete this job. I’m currently in school getting my Bachelor’s degree and is using my VA educational benefits to live off of. I have been having issues with my contractor, who has been stalling this project. I had paid him half up front with already having purchased the materials for the job and now it’s going on over a month and a half and the job isn’t completed. When I voice my concerns, he doesn’t take criticism very well and stops working, therefore holding me up. The project I hired him for was to install insulation throughout the house and new sheet rock because I had an asbestos abatement done throughout the house, leaving the house completely gutted. After hiring this contractor, I’ve realized this is the biggest job he’s ever done before and on top of that he doesn’t have a crew of people working for him, just one young man who seems to be doing all the work himself. I have had to deal with that on top of other things that keeps coming up in regards to this house. This is my first rental property ever. I was planning on fixing it up and renting it out to someone who needs affordable housing. This has not been an easy process for me at all and I’m learning as I go.

The goal of the company that I worked for was to just get the work done, not giving each individual proper training. I worked one on one with the most loving and passionate group. I have been researching and keeping up with techniques in this field, but I need help with the financial part. I am trying to raise 75,000 dollars to put toward a building and a van. I am using some of my own money, but it has been hard, because most people do not see my vision. I know that it will be hard, and I am willing to put in the work. My company will show them how to work in a competitive work environment all the while learning skills that can be used in everyday life.
