Being a single mother especially in today’s era can be extremely overwhelming. If you are one of those mothers who is doing it alone every day you know what I am talking about. It seems like the bills just continue to pile up and never end.

Researchers have said that just in 2015 year ending alone over 80 percent of the households in America that we’re single households we’re in fact ran by a FEMALE head of household which we’re mostly living very poor.

Many people may say well there is government assistance for them to get a grant but it’s hard to find and information regarding that said topic anywhere. So in hopes to help the single mothers out in the world this article will give you some insight on the different assistance topics we can cover including where and how to get a grant or scholarship. Also, you will read and see how simple it is to receive help with income expenses and medical insurance.

Are there really grants for a single mother?

Of course they do but these grants are not only for single mothers. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t help for a mother to receive one. I know its mind boggling that the government hasn’t had any means created for money for a single mother that is actually in the shape of a grant. One thing the government does for a single mother is they assist them through a group or have set sponsors through a company, and sometimes they are covered by the actual income assistance completely.

Below are a few websites that will redirect you to free items that you can get just for registering on the website.

Low Income Assistance for Single Mothers / Government Grants

As I said there is not an official grant for a single mother available that is FEDERAL. However a single mother can go through federal programs and register and sign up for them. Those kinds of programs are usually for households with low income. Which means you would also qualify for Welfare. No matter what the case these are programs to help those who make below the limit and live poorly.

Below are different types of assistance based in the United States.

TANF – TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

TANF is a crucial for many low income families located within the US.

With TANF you receive a small amount of cash every month that you can use toward your food, rent, and other necessities. However you only receive TANF for up to 60 month limit.

If you are a single mother and you have children in your home who are less than 19 years old you are eligible for TANF.

SNAP – SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Food-stamps or SNAP as other people may refer to is financial help for meals. You can receive money every month to place food on the table if you are on low or no income.

For most of Americans living in poverty SNAP is potentially the only assistance they can get.

Research has shown that in 2015 SNAP benefits have helped at least 45 million Americans. Most of the ones who receive the stamps are under are up to the age of 18.

When you go to use your benefits for SNAP you have your own personal debit card to ring your groceries up with at the register. If you are interested in trying to get on with SNAP benefits all you have to do is fill and application out and send it in or take it into a local office that deals with SNAP benefits.

NSLP – NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM

This is a program that gives free (or discounted) food to students whose parent’s income is bellow a poverty level. The income needs to be at least between 130-185 percent bellow the poverty line.

Most the time if a person is a receiver of SNAP benefits their children will be accepted into this program for free lunches. But, that doesn’t mean if you don’t have or receive SNAP that your children are disqualified.

You need to contact your child’s school to apply.

TEFAP – THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Food for the American families who are in the poverty range not matter what the age.

If you have received food stamps before or any other program assisting you and helping you such as the ones in this article you could also be approved for this program.

You will need to contact your State distribution agency to learn more about the Emergency food assistance program.

Local Food Banks

A food bank doesn’t exactly fit into the whole “Grant” program area as it is actually a location in your town where you can get food if you are in need.

Do not allow you or your family to go without food. If you ever reach that trouble you can call 211 and ask them where the nearest food bank is based on your location.

More then 200 food banks exist with the feeding america foundation and they supply enough food to feed over 40 million people.

WIC – WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN PROGRAM

This program includes a package deal where you as a mother are able to receive healthy foods, whether you are pregnant or a new mother, and also to children who are 5 or under.

WIC is a program that is temporary and only used for a short amount of time – usually between 6 to 12 months.

EARLY HEAD START / HEAD START

These programs are for children up to 5 years old.

You can receive free child’s medical and dental care along with their schooling, and dietary needs.

Find your closes headstart office on their website or call at 1-866-763-6481.

Insurance for unemployment

This is a special program which will pay you weekly if you are unemployed and it had nothing to do with you for you being fired or let go. You will only be able to receive this benefit for maximum 26 weeks. Different states have different benefit rules. But most states will average out at about 45% of whatever the average weekly income is.

Single mothers who are out of a job temporarily can find solace with these benefits and can help make the burden less for themselves because this pay will restore what you have lost from losing your work.

If you want to try and get this started and opened for you, you will have to find your local unemployment office or apply on the website for this specific program. Most states will allow you to also try to sign up for this over the phone.

Section 8 housing

Section 8 is basically a program that helps a family be able to pay for their housing. If approved you will receive a voucher of up to 70 percent of your bills (utilities and rent). You are expected to pay the other 30 percent.

If you want to apply and feel you qualify you can get in touch with your local office involved with public housing, the HUD office.

CCAP – CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

This is a benefit for families who can’t afford to place their children in daycare while working.

You still have to pay a certain percentage but it isn’t a big lump of money. The less you earn, the less you need to contribute.

EITC – Earned Income Tax Credit

It is a tax benefit for people with low income. You could potentially get as much as $6,000.

If you normally have a tax rate of $1050 but you are allowed $5550 then you get refund of $4500.

There is a Children’s Tax Credit too for as much as $1,000 for EACH child.

LIHEAP – LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

LIHEAP is a program that is a one time help to help pay for heating / cooling expenses.

Most of the time this is for the disabled or families with children or disabled person in the home.

If you need any extra information regarding this topic you can get in touch through the number 1-866-674-6327 or a local number for your local LIHEAP office.

WAP – WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Weatherization assistance program lowers energy bills for families in need. Usually the elderly and families involving children are accepted and put to the top of the list before all.

Your monthly income need to be below 200 percent poverty level.

To apply, find a local WAP center.

Medicaid

Medicaid is help with medical expenses. If you do not have health insurance this gives you certain benefits as long as your income restriction meets the level it should.

A lot of single mothers may meet the standards to be recipients of Medicaid even if you are unemployed.

Every state has different rules about Medicaid plans. You can find out exact requirements on this website.

Together with ObamaCare it ensures that even single mothers who didn’t receive any health benefits will now be able to have coverage.

CHIP – CHILDREN HEALTH INSURANCE

CHIP gives children without health insurance a chance to have health benefits all the way up until they are nineteen. It is for families whose income is too high to receive Medicaid benefits.

It provides every type of benefit you can think of — dental, eye exams, and even annual doctor’s exams.

Every state has its own rules. If you would like to learn a little more about this specific benefit you can call 1-877 Kids now (1-877-543-7669)

Federal Pell Grants

Aid program for students of up to $5,815 for those in need to be able to set foot into college.

This is the best opportunity for a mother who is single to finally be able to finish her schooling and finally continue in the workforce. The money is completely free of charge with no interest rates or paybacks ever.

You need to fill out an application and submit it for a pell grant and have it turned in on or before June 30th of every year.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant

Similar to the Pell Grant. If you already have had pell grants and you are at the top of the charts in need you will be first on the list to receive this. Depending on a persons needs that are wrapped in with their financial struggle will ultimately decide who will receive anywhere between $100 too $4,000 annually.

Charities

Charities can be a way to seek help for you and your children whether you are in need of food or clothing or even housing. A lot of charities around the world actually have their own food banks that they run and they will give you bags of free food.

If you go to salvation army a lot of the times they will let you sleep there if you have no where else to go especially if it is a result of violence.

Churches

Most churches will offer you food and clothes or maybe even a place to stay if you have been recently kicked out by the one you are living with.

To find information on this you should look through your phone books local listing or yellow page. You can also research online and see what churches are available to your area and call them and ask what services they do offer.

Loans

Single moms can receive loans usually relatively quickly but I would not recommended that at all. You could potentially go into debt and not be able to rise back from that.

Sometimes you have no choice because you have to fix your broken car or maybe pay for utilities and food and need the help right then. But you have to be able to pay that loan realistically quick.

Pay attention to your credit because if you try to get a loan through a bank or anyone they will check your credit score and see if it is even available to be able to place a loan out to you. If it is a loan that is for payday loans or credit card advances they will not run a check but you will end up paying more after fees and costs.

Line of Credit

If your credit is decent some people ask a bank for a loan personally. Most of the time this is a better idea then asking for a payday loan because if you need quick money with lower rates of interest this is it.

Personal Loans

On a personal loan interest is lower dramatically but you have to pay in instalments. It doesn’t really fit criteria for an emergency. Normally if you just tell them you do not have any more funds and that is why you need this they will turn you away. If your credit is poor you will not be able to even touch this offer.

Short term (payday) loans

This is a very popular type of loan. You may know it by the term “Cash advance.” The interest runs really high on these and it is a loan that is only for a small time frame.

This is a loan that would more then likely be considered if a problem arises and you needed to repair your car or had a disastrous dental emergency. You have to know for sure you will be able to give every penny back.

If you do not pay this type of loan back you could be in loads of trouble financially.

Credit card cash advance

Do you own a credit card? If so you will be able to get money from a bank as easy as 1, 2, 3. This is not a method that is highly praised though because as soon as you start taking money out of the bank the interest keeps rising and you also are charged for using and pulling out of the bank a fee. This is potentially the easier options if you do need cash asap but you have to pay it back and make sure you absolutely can.

When it is all said and done grants will not solve your money issues within your home if that is what you expect. To get a grant is definitely not easy it isn’t a walk in the park by any means.

If you are looking to get a more stable source of financially being stable you should probably look in areas around you or find a women shelter until you can get back up on your feet.

If you think you have all the time in the world you can apply for other areas of assistance such as Food stamps, HUD, and etc. They do take a lot of time and effort for someone to get back with you and let you know if you have been accepted and enrolled. Try finding a part time working job as a way to financially start becoming stable again.

The moral of this is you can not expect a grant to fall into your hands without effort and take all your worries away. They are only here too do one thing and that doesn’t usually fix anything with your financial setting.

This is all on you and what you decide, no one else can decide for you.

Help with bills and food.

I am single mum of a gorgeous 3 year old. We live alone in small London flat and I don’t work, because I take care of him. I do all I can to get an employment or another source of income. I even started my own online business but it requires monthly budget to invest in FB adverts and I don’t have money to cover that cost at the moment. I went to work last year, but my son was sick and I had to leave the job, because I am unsupported by anybody here as I am from Poland and live in UK. I am on low income and his father stopped paying child maintenance. I have tone of bills to pay, even my previous employer asks for repayment of salary overpayment from last year. Dental care is free, but I cannot have toxic amalgam again, so I need to pay for dental filling as well. I started to use my credit cards and I also need to repay them. Please, support me with anything so I can get my business up and running and start to earn independently again.

You will be blessed and so appreciated. Thank you!

Financially inneed of help

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Elena Misseri, and I am a single mother who works a full-time job. In 2020, my life took a turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the past three years, I have undergone five surgeries, as well as chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which forced me to be out of work. My most recent surgery was in August of 2024, and I am hopeful it will be my last.

Due to being in and out of work, I have fallen behind on various bills, and it seems like I am unable to catch up. I live paycheck to paycheck, and there are times when I need to choose between putting food on the table and paying my utility bill. Currently, I am three months behind on my car payments, and I fear losing it, which would leave my family without transportation. I am also behind on my utility bills as well as other expenses. During my time off work, I was only receiving 20% of my regular pay, and with the cost of living constantly rising, it has been a struggle to make ends meet.

I would sincerely appreciate any assistance or support you may be able to provide for me and my family. It would mean a great deal to us as we try to get back on track financially and have some stability before my battle with breast cancer. Thank you for taking the time to read about my struggles, and I hope that you can offer some help. Your support would be truly invaluable.

Thank you.

Warm regards,
Elena Misseri

Single Mom Feeling Defeated By Unexpected Development ofDisabilities

Hi my name is Lisa and I have the following disabilities and physically I’m completely incapable being employed anymore

●Lumbar Spondylosis w/ Facet Arthropathy

●Degenerative Multi Joint Disease w/ Myofascial pain

●Bilateral Complex Regional Pain Syndrome- Region is my feet and ankles

I have a son and his name is Tristan I raised my son as a single mom working two sometimes three jobs I managed to never miss a beat with his games, school functions, or holidays I slept a couple of hours a night since the day he was born to ensure all the above For the entirety of his adolescence and to the best of my ability I worked very hard to not let him be too tainted by our poverty and did everything I could to sheild him from the dysfunction of other family members (one major traumatic incident occurred, explanation included) I didn’t let him live in an unrealistic reality either though I needed him to know where he came from and how fortunate he was to have a small but mighty village helping me raise him in a loving stable home especially coming from a family such as ours where most of the kids became statistics Regarding the aforementioned family trauma was 3 days before Tristan’s 13th bday my mother committed suicide in our house while we slept, because she was crashing on my couch after coming back from jail we agreed to let her stay for 2 months only provided she followed all of our house rules and requests she didn’t I told her she had to go the night before and she took her life instead and we’re the ones who found her of course But he knew that my mother and I had a poor relationsh I later discovered that one of her reasons for taking her life, most likely was because she stole my identity and put me $43,000 in debt I couldn’t fight it I tried though because she was not alive to defend herself so I was held liable for it I was financially destroyed by that My credit is destroyed now and it’s taking me several years to pay it off just for more debt by her to surface so I can’t get loans I am in the throes of applying for disability benefits and that is just a long drawn out nightmare of a flawed process for 2 years now I have been unsuccessful at finding any type of assistance program in place for Americans  awaiting approval What are we supposed to do and we have to fight for this money that we need so desperately I meet all the criteria I actually exceed so many requirements yet I keep having to appeal their decisions A positive I hold onto is I’m very fortunate that my son is as stable intelligent and emotionally healthy as he is but he has the same mindset as I do He refuses to follow suit with this family and he stands strong with me on breaking the cycle But he has been the most affected by all of this Disregarding all my pain and what I go through physically,  my son became collateral damage We need help more than we’ve ever needed help in my entire life I don’t know what to do where to turn or how to get out of this I don’t want to put a $ amount out there because I don’t want to overreach I have no expectations of anyone to think I expect any certain amount that needs to be met I just need to survive and ask someone for help So whatever anyone thinks they can can contribute is more than what I have and would be INCREDIBLY APPRECIATED and will certainly help No amount is too small

For 36 years of my life I worke hard labor jobs ultimately abusing my body and resulting in it turning on me These neurological and musculoskeletal disorders cause me chronic debilitating excruciating pain daily One of my conditions is rare incurable and registers at a 42 out of 49 on the McGill Pain Scale My son’s education is being affected by it in a colossal way because of his inability to go full-time and accept all the scholarships he was offered Instead he had to assume all my responsibilities and become head of the household He’s unable to have the experiences of the campus life because I can’t be left alone for long periods so he has to take classes online only part-time unable to accept opportunities that came with the scholarships because he is unable to fulfill the requirements by going full-time due to my disabilities Our situation has obligated him to work full time just to pay our basic bills just to have utilities and a roof over our head Everything else has piled up He’ll now have student loan debt, something he would not have had with those scholarships This is all because I can’t take care of our house, myself, our four animals, who are just as much a part of this family as Tristan and I are Their extremely affected as well as as I cannot afford their veterinary care until I begin receiving disability benefits that I applied for two years ago and all four of them are two years behind on vaccinations including their rabies Their nails don’t get trimmed they’re not getting their heartworm preventatives anymore and most importantly regarding preventives their flea chews and they suffer scratching One of my part time jobs was working at an animal hospital for many years in addition to my restaurant manager job and my bartending and server job at another restaurant Working for the Animal Hospital allowed me great discount opportunities for all of their supplies hence us growing our fur baby family to the size that it is I never thought I would end up being unable to provide for my family Finally my son’s job requires him to drive his own car throughout the entire shift and we each have our own car – mine is necessary for my friend and my neighbor to get me to my doctor’s appointments every week sometimes several a week and now both cars are completely broken down and now he’s unable to work and I’m missing appointment We don’t have money for the repairs for either one and we’re going to lose everything if I don’t come up with $ to fix these cars and get a few months of bills paid so we have time to catch up and try to pad our finances a little bit I have many more details I could provide but I feel like this is such an incredibly long story as it is so I really want to conclude this I however would be more than happy to answer any questions or tell anybody more details and how this is affecting us and what we need if you reach out to me I would be more than happy to do that

I cannot tell you what it means to me for anyone who even takes the time to read this even if they can’t help because it’s a lot here and it can be emotionally taxing to read stories like this and I know that because I used to be someone who helped families like mine I can’t put into words the magnitude of appreciation my son and I would have to any and all who are able to help us no matter the amount You would just be our angel on Earth I thank you all

Single mother still stuck

Hello

I have never done something like this before, I rather give than receiving.

But currently I seem not to have any immediate resources.

I heard about this platform and I decided to give it a go.

I am currently desperate as I am facing serious financial issues. I need $3000 to pay bills and debts while I get back onto my feet.

This week I got back to my part time work which I love, after 3 montths of sick leave. During this time I got my debts piling up as my compensation payments were just enough for rent and some food. Things have been really thigh as I also have my 8 year old boy to look after.

If you could please find in your heart to support me, I will so much appreciated it.

May Lord almighty will continue multiply with health and blessings.

Thank you so much for your time.

Lots of blessings

Please Help Mom Older Senior on Disabilty

Here’s a draft for a letter requesting financial assistance to help clear your debt so that you can improve your credit standing for a second mortgage.

I am writing to humbly request financial assistance to help me pay off a debt of approximately $20,000. Due to recent financial hardships, I have fallen behind on multiple payments, resulting in a low credit score that now prevents me from securing a second mortgage that could stabilize my finances.

About a year ago, I lost a significant portion of my income from Social Security, which had been a vital part of my budget. Unfortunately, this loss came at a time when my bills were already high, making it extremely difficult to keep up. My financial priorities shifted to focus on paying my car loan and my mortgage, as these were essential for my transportation and housing stability. While I have managed to keep up with these payments, I have been unable to make regular payments on my credit cards and a personal loan. This has resulted in high interest fees, penalties, and a growing balance that I am struggling to address.

My situation is difficult, but I am motivated to find a way out. Clearing my existing debt would allow me to improve my credit score, making it possible for me to apply for a second mortgage. With this new financial support, I would be able to restructure my budget, secure a lower interest rate, and stabilize my financial future. However, I need assistance to bridge the gap between my current financial obligations and the chance to start fresh.

I understand that this is a significant request, and I am more than willing to provide any documentation you might need to better understand my circumstances. If there is any possibility of support, it would make a profound difference in my life and help me regain financial independence. I am open to discussing repayment terms or any other requirements you may have for assisting me.

Thank you for considering my request. I appreciate your time and any support you may be able to offer during this challenging period.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]

I only have 8 classes left to finish but it has been very hard, for I have to work to pay my mortgage, bills and help my daughter with college ( I really don’t want her to quite school to help me pay bills) My daughter is also going through some health issues regarding her kidneys and is in and out of the hospital the majority of the times. Losing the roof over our heads

Hello,

I’m a 39-year-old U.S. Army veteran, single mother of two amazing boys.  If you would’ve asked me 2 years ago if I would ever see myself writing a 400 word “essay” describing my situation in hopes a stranger would be willing to help, I would have raised my right eyebrow and said, “nope’.  But here I am, doing what I NEVER thought I would do and learning that the phrase “never say never” couldn’t be truer.

On July 2023 when my oldest son had gotten extremely sick and following doctors advise I stayed home to not only care for my very ill child but to also keeping my infant from getting whatever his brother had since he was highly contagious.  I missed a total of 4 days of work and after almost 6 years of being with the company I was let go because they (property manager at the time) did not deem E.R. discharge papers and doctors notes sufficient for my days to be excused and/or allow me to use sick days.  After weeks of job searches, I finally had received an offer which I was very grateful for and did not see any other option but to accept and prepare all for the move.  After witnessing that I had sold everything I owned and was ready to make our move, my son’s father decided he would sue me the morning I was set to leave Texas forcing me to stay, losing another job and spending what little I did not have on attorney’s fees.

From August 2023 to now I have been fighting for one child, supporting the other on his decision to join the military all while struggling to keep the roof over my head and what little sanity I have from going left on me as well.  After years of hard work and owning my pride for being the strong independent woman/mother I had always been I found myself struggling and facing one brick wall after another.  I have been humbled to say the least.  I am living in an apartment in my son’s name and now facing eviction because I have not been able to get caught up financially all while still dealing with what the Texas courts believe to be in the “best interest of the child”.  I am actively searching for work but if I do not pay the total amount due ($6,500) as soon as possible I will lose the apartment and face the possibility of losing my son.

If you have read the brief breakdown of my story and are considering helping, I do have legal documents that backup every single one of the above statements and have no problem providing.

Now, to whomever is reading this; it is 1:32am and I have spent all day online and/or on the phone seeking emergency assistance to which I’ve had no luck so I do apologies for the rambling.

Thank you for taking the time to read a snip of my story and even if you choose to move forward with another’s situation, THANK YOU for being an answered prayer to someone in need.  I had no idea this was a “thing” and to learn that there are people out there willing to help a stranger this way is very honorable.

Thank you.

Single Mother

Hello, I am a single mother. My natural children are grown, but I have had guardianship of a boy for 13 years whose parents are addicts and he was in danger of going into foster care at 2 years old. He is now 15 and I’m doing everything I can to keep him mentally healthy and away from drugs.

Sometimes I feel like I’m neglecting the rest of my family because I need to be completely available to tend to this child whom I love dearly.

I also work as much as I can, sometimes 60+ hours per week. My child is not supposed to be home alone, but that’s impossible with the lack of available services for his age group. Because of some situational issues this year, I’ve been called out of work or have had to take time off while this child is in the hospital. I have fallen behind and have gone into debt trying to keep things afloat at our home. The stress is getting to me. I never ask anyone for anything, but now I’m handing this over to God and His grace. I need to raise $100000 to lower my debt load and be able to breathe. My other son has twins on the way and I would like to be able to spend time with them in a positive way.

Hi everyone 👋

Yooo…As I am trying to write words are failing me.😭💔

I’m a young girl from a small rural area who was raised by a single mother who had nothing much but love.We lost our father back in 2010 and our mother did all she could for me and my 2 younger siblings till year 2020 when she had a stroke that left her disabled (left side not working) I had to jungle between school, nursing her and taking care of my younger siblings. As difficult as it was seeing her alive no matter her condition gave me hope that one day things will get better. Unfortunately she passed on in 2022 and a huge part of me died with her, I had to mother my younger siblings till this day.

Saying it’s difficult is an understatement. I’m trying, I’ve been trying with little I got from piece jobs that I last had 2years back. It’s hard😭 I’m pleading with anyone who can donate no matter how small it is I’ll highly appreciate and it will go a long way.

Single Mom money needed for daughter sweet 16 birthday

Hello,

I just found this site and it actually made me so happy to know that there are people out there that care.

I am a single mom of a beautiful kind wonderful daughter.  It has been just the two of us since she was 7 years old.  Her father passed away in a car accident.  I do not have family and I work very hard just to pay the rent and bills.  I feel heartbroken that I always had to work and wish I was able to do more for her and had more time to spend with her.  We never had a vacation because I could not afford it.  I am living paycheck to paycheck just to pay rent and food.  Her 16th birthday is coming up and I would like to take her on a vacation.  I just want to create a memory for her that she can always remember.

Thank you.

Seperated Struggling Mom

Good day to you and thank you for reading my story. I wanna start by saying that as much as I have been through in life, I am still grateful for where I am today and have much to smile for.

I will try to keep this short. I promise.

So I used to be an auto technician for about 7 years, I met my husband during the “covid season”. We had our first child, and agreed that I would be a stay home mom due to how we felt about the school system. We even agreed to homeschooling. We got married and needless to say our child thrived. I was so grateful to have been put in a position to be a stay home wife. We still still had our issues, as any married  couple, right? Or so I thought.

Darker things began to arise as I got to know his mother ( who runs a daycare) and her boyfriend. Around 6 months I started to let our child stay with relatives (overnight). My child was showing signs of “suspicion” when she would stay with my husband’s mother, and her boyfriend ( such as not wanting to be changed all of a sudden followed by hysteric crying). Now I’m no psychic but my daughter has not left my side since her birth! Homebirth (in our same home) breastfed and homeschooling all in the same home. I know my child. Anyway, I tried to have this conversation with my husband and his mother to no avail.

August 2023, I decided to get a job to boost our funds. My daughter enrolled at my mother in law’s daycare and by the end of my first week at work, my daughter had shown me many signs that made me uncomfortable. I stopped work and talked to my husband again. After much evasion, the step father would not take a lie detector test and yet still insisted he continue to babysit our child, sometimes alone. Fast forward…

My husband and I did not agree about his “step father’s position” in our child’s life and my concerns were completely disregarded despite our child’s behavior. I ended up moving to my mom’s because she got sick. We still went back and forth because it was not far. Because I had to move, my husband felt like we were not his responsibility anymore and just stopped supporting us. Took the 2 years worth of tax money and bought a property in W.V. He changed the locks and moved in another lady friend that “needed help”. He refused to meet for play dates out of assumptions and paranoia. At this time I stopped attempting and sought a lawyer for a divorce.

All of this happened in quite a short window and I did not think about all the bills about to come my way. Since I stayed home I took care of the bills. With an immediate shift in finances, I was unprepared to survive. I have had jobs, but not long enough due to shift not meeting the needs of daycare. I am getting around that making the best that I can with what I do have. But I do need the help. Being left with a $7,573 debt blindly was a hard pill to swallow on my own with spotty work. I do have promising things coming up in my future but I need time to finish school and establish my career. I am currently in school for Real Estate.

I would really appreciate any help that is given. I also have a small business that I would love to get back up and running as a travel agent. I am willing to give free discounted quotes ( up to 3) on any travel destinations in exchange for any assistance. info below

PLEASE HELP!

Hello,

My name is Christie, and I never thought I would find myself in a position where I need to ask for help. For years, I was trapped in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship with my husband. It took every ounce of courage I had to finally leave with my son and move out of state for our safety. In the process, I had to sign over temporary exclusive use of the home I worked so hard to buy, leaving us with nothing until it sells.

I’m a mortgage lender, but with the current state of the housing market, it took far longer than I expected to secure a new job. Unfortunately, the job I have now brings in a fraction of what I was making, especially since I’m not yet receiving commissions.

My son has been staying with his father, but he’s coming back to live with me next week, and I need to secure a safe place for us to live. Right now, I’ve been sleeping in my car, and it’s been incredibly difficult to manage without basic needs like regular showers or even a bed to sleep in. I’ve gone from a $400,000 home to sleeping in my car, and every day I wake up hoping that this is all just a bad dream.

I’m actively searching for a second job and willing to work whatever I can to get back on my feet. I’ve never had to ask for help like this before, but I am humbly asking now: if anyone could assist with anything to help me get into an apartment, I would be so grateful. I am even willing to pay back any help I receive, starting at $50 a month, and increasing as I am able.

I truly believe that something good will come from this, and I pray every day for that to happen. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you in advance for any support you can offer.

With deep gratitude,
Christie

Let me know if you need further adjustments.

Single Mother Trying to Better Life through Nursing School

First I hope to thank anyone who is able to provide assistance, if even in prayers. I am a single mother of a wonderful young boy, and I am trying to create a better life for us both as I pursue a nursing degree. I have faced numerous challenges in life trying to control my finances on my own and provide for my family. I’ve made mistakes such as providing money to a  friend when he could not immediately pay me back. However, I wanted to support his dreams and struggles as well. I did what I thought was right at the time, but I should have thought more about the future. I loaned $10k of my own inheritance and requested another $10K to help my friend because I truly believed he had a solid plan that would also assist my struggles. Unfortunately the money he invested had been a digital currency scam.  My kindness became my downfall and now I feel like a big fool. I wish I could take back those moments, and we tried everything from contacting police and investigators to retrieve the scammed currency, but alas, my friend made a mistake and it affected me big time as well. Now I’m back in school trying to shoot for a better career and support system, I am struggling to pay credit cards and keep up with my normal expenses. While I have a job, it pays little and nursing school fills up a lot of my time as well as trying to care for my child. He’s too young for me to safely leave alone and babysitters are too expensive. I used to have more support with his father’s side grandparents, but unfortunately both passed away due to cancer within a span of 2 years. My parents try to give me what they can, but they also work full-time and have many health problems they are trying to reconcile.

I am trying really hard to balance my responsibilities with school, motherhood and my current job. I can only pick up certain shifts due to a busy schedule, maintaining my grades, child care and this has put a major dent in my income. Nursing is a huge passion of mine as I want to work hard to give back to my community by providing skilled and therapeutic care. I love my patients and strive to treat them with dignity. I know once I graduate I will be able to stabilize myself a bit more, but I still have a year to go. I’ve made it this far, but financial struggles are affecting whether I can afford to continue.

I am reaching out because I believe with extra support, I can overcome the financial obstacles and relieve some stress. My focus will aim towards further myself and serving my community. I can improve my ability to provide for me and my son. By completing my degree, I will be able to secure a stable job and give back one day to others. I want to be a positive role model for my son and show him the importance of education and perseverance.

I am grateful for any assistance provided. Your support will make an incredible difference in my journey and help keep me afloat in the world. Your generosity is a value I will always keep in mind and try my best to return to others through my care, support, and guidance.
