Hello, my name is Noah Crowley. I’m a full time student. I recently bought my first car, a Honda CR-V 2010 for am expected 4,500. The taxes on it was over 500. Okay, I was smart and saved money. Well the car ended up needing a butt load of maintenance. I found the cheapest and best mechanic but it ended up costing about another 900. I took it to Valvoline, and the oil stick was bone dry. They also quoted me many more maintenance that needs to be done on the car for about 400. The mechanic said the control arms and balls were cracked and I would need to replace those too, another 800. I signed up for auto insurance with USAA and needed to pay a 400 down-payment as well as my monthly bills. Already about 6,500 spent in just 1 month. I thought I as going to move to Washington with my family so I bought a steal of a deal car there for 2,000. Yet since I didn’t I never used it, my family is trying to sell it. Making my expenses for this about 8,500 with another about 1,500 in expenses left. I’ve run out of money, I can only afford 2 months of auto insurance bills, gas is so expensive these days and it’s killing any scraps of money I have left. I was without a job for the last 6 months and just recently got one last week. I’ve tried to be smart, I’ve avoided student loans so far, had jobs, going to a community College, but the extra 4,000 in expenses in just almost 2 months has erased my financial abilities. I really just need anything that can help me buy gas. Anything extra to cover car costs would be appreciated but at the bare minimum, please, I need gas.

I’m asking for help, I desperately need to get my car fixed. My daughter’s father was diagnosed last year with stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 43. He was taken  to a hospital  out of town over a month ago, doctors say if he makes it out of the hospital he will go to hospice. I am in desperate need at the moment because my fiancé car recently broke down. He is working two jobs right now, taking care of his 5 kids, paying rent and other bills constantly. My fiancé lives in Miami at the moment for work so I am not able to see him. His kids live in another city as well about 2 hours and 30min away. He has been saving up money to get to them & also me for months.

In February 2023, I was a blessed to purchase a much needed car. A 2015 Chevrolet Equinox with approximately 97,500 miles. This car has made it possible to further assist my family, picking up or dropping off some of my church family and commuting to my job. The regular car maintenance needed was affordable and some parts were easy to repair.

Until my engine light came on and the auto mechanic diagnosed the engine. He said I will need an engine timing change. His service includes  the part and labor, will be $1600.00.

I’m also in dire need of replacing  the front rotors and front brakes. The cost is  $500.00 for the parts and labor. This will be done by a  different mechanic

Last year my  catalytic converter was stolen. When it  was replaced, the  mechanic stated that when the thieves cut off  the catalytic converter, they damaged a connecting part. this will cost an additional $300.00.

While the car is being repaired, I will need to rent a car for at least a week. The additional $600.00 should cover the cost for the car rental.

I recently purchased an older car for $7000. that had a 3month/3000 mile warranty.  I then had a full inspection done. A couple of issues were found and it looked like they should be covered under the warranty. I am well wihtin the warranty timeframe and mileage. Apparently the issues aren’t covered. I am now presented with a $3500. repair . Head gasket replacement and differential seal replacement.

I am on a social security fixed income of $952. per month.

I do not have any extra income to cover these repairs.

I currently babysit my 2yr old granddaughter and being without a car would be a real hardship.

My young adult daughter struggling when she just began!

I really am not very good at writing or being able to get exactly what I want to say in a letter, but here goes.

I am a 54 yr old mother of a 20 yr old daughter. Now we have had a rough go at life but we always have been able to get by somehow. I didn’t know that the things that I went through in life would have such a bad impact on my children at the time, and that is something I have to live with and regret.

I was married to my daughters father when I had her and 7 mos later separated. Now I knew it was a mistake to get married because her father was a very mean and violet man, but I let him fill me with empty promises as well as my daughter. My daughter has been through one let down after another when it comes to other people and although I tried my best to give her a good life, I just wasn’t enough. I see now that she definitely has been tortured mentally with all she had to see, hear and endure as far as domestic violence. Unfortunately I tried several times to give her father the chance to be just that “a father’s, and of course it just wasn’t in the cards

Of the 20 yrs of my daughters life he only probably spent or acknowledged her on any given day or holiday (birthdays, Christmas’s) a total of 3 yrs. I don’t quite understand why but it was always if he wasn’t around neither were any person in his family. So needless to say she pretty much only had me and her older brother (from previous relationship) to depend on. All of this has left my daughter harboring a lot of pain and anger. So she was determined to make a life for herself by herself at a young age. She has never been one to ask for anything from anyone unless it was a must. All she has known is that you cannot rely on other people to be there when you need them. It hurts me so but it has made her and I closer than any parent can be with their child.

My daughter recently went through a breakup of a 6 yr relationship and although it was mutual, of course there is still pain. In their agreement they decided that he would take the one vehicle and she to take the apartment. Now though she works full time and makes decent money it really is only paying for her to have a place to call home. We talked about her taking on another person but as she only has as many friends as you can count on one hand it just isn’t something I am willing to bring a stranger into, and even then it will be much harder to save for a car when your constantly paying for a ride back and forth to work, with Lyft alone it’s almost $40 a day. She only has had her apartment for a little over a year and now I fear that she may struggle so as to lose her job if she doesn’t find a vehicle. It’s getting harder and harder to rely on others, and most expensive.

So I am asking for donations and hoping to raise $10,000. The reason I am asking for this is so I can be of some kind of help being I am disabled and have several health issues which have caused me to barely be able to care for myself. I would like to be able to either have a good down payment or be able to buy a nice reliable car outright and also pay for maybe 6mos to 1yr of car insurance so she has some time to get some kind of money saved. The way things are now there isn’t anything left to be able to purchase a car now or in the near future. With this help I believe she can have the opportunity to live without struggling and worrying about how long she will be able to keep her job and her apartment. She has been asked if she is interested in a management position in the future at her job and hopefully that will be when she can have more than all the responsibility she bears on her own right now. If anyone deserves a kindness in this world, my daughter is among them with all that life has thrown at her in the past.
