I Was Evicted & Lost Everything – Please help!

Hi, I am a 26 year old entrepreneur and photographer. I got evicted from my apartment and had just about everything I own thrown out by apartment staff, maintenance, and/or the marshals. For a few months I had been struggling with staying current with rent (sometimes catching back up then soon falling back behind) and had been communicating with my leasing office about my situation while still working to catch up. After working all day, I came home to a changed lock , so I couldn’t get inside and was forced to contact a friend about staying the night to avoid having to sleep in my car for the night. The following day I spoke with my leasing office manager again to communicate that I only needed a few more days before I could bring my account current and was informed that it was too late and I had officially been evicted. When I asked about the status of my personal belongings that were inside my unit, the manager informed me that everything I own had been either dumped in the parking lot or thrown in the dumpster. One of the many issues with that is the fact that when I went to the parking lot to retrieve my things, nothing was out there meaning everything was gone. The manager claimed that I was supposed to be home when the unit was being repossessed, however, I was never given an official notice to vacate with any information on when anyone was coming. This meant I was robbed of the opportunity to maintain possession of all of my belongings and move them into a storage unit. My apartment staff, maintenance, and/or the marshals cleared out my apartment of everything while I was gone for the day working. In addition to furniture like my bed, couch, chairs, and tables which I don’t even care to replace, they also threw out all of my clothing/shoes and expensive things like my TV ($400), MacBook ($1800), all camera equipment ($6000), kitchen appliances ($200), and the $6,000 worth of money orders I had hidden/stashed in my closet for when I made the last bit to bring my rent current. This adds up to over $14,000 worth of loss. With that, they threw away personal belongings of mine with sentimental value that can never be replaced. All I really had left was the clothes on my back, my wallet, and my car. I am devastated having experienced this. I am not sure if I can raise $14,000 as that is alot of money, but I would greatly appreciate any help to lessen the burden of this loss to facilitate me getting back on my feet and starting over from scratch. Thank you so much for reading this far; anything is appreciated!

Overwhelming Lemonade making

I’m not entirely sure where to start here. I have a penchant for TMI, and it often causes more problems than it solves, but here is my story and why I’m here today…

3 years ago I relocated back to America after living in England for 20 years. My first job back was cashier in a retail store I took, so I could save to build my credit from 0, and further get a car. Then I could be an Uber driver. I wanted to be a taxi driver ever since I saw a music video in ’92.

Once I got Sheila E. my Camry, I was ready to hit the road. Started driving with Uber and in 11 months I managed to save $4k, and built my credit to a very good score. I was proud of what I had achieved, and I was happy. And single. The only thing I didn’t have was my own place to live. It was alright sharing, but I wanted my own apartment. I was almost there. Then I fell into a relationship trap with someone who wasn’t at all who I thought. Everything you wouldn’t want from a man; cheating, lying, manipulating, etc. I confronted him, and he didn’t like that.

After leaving I got my own apartment but I wasn’t alone. He was cyber-stalking me, stealing identity, and much more. He was trying to financially and emotionally ruin me. Anyway, I couldn’t drive, and I lost my apartment within 3 months. I had to move back in with my father again. After a few months of heavy drinking, I started getting things together again, and then I met another guy in a local bar. I wasn’t looking for a relationship, but he was persistent and charming. At first anyway. He moved in with us and things were ok.

Then I wanted to move back to the city, because that’s where I could really make money again driving. What I truly love doing. I’ve had plans now for the last 2 years to go to Duke for post grad studies in Health & Wellness Coaching (which I feel is my true calling) but telling toxic family members about it was a mistake. Anyway, I still dream to go there, but that’s not the reason I’m here asking for help.

The guy I decided to move into a new apartment with in May this year, became a completely different person when we moved in. I helped him get a new job in a warehouse, earning more than ever, but he was never truly grateful. He never is. Nothing is enough unfortunately. He had bad spending habits and credit, and I tried explaining that we couldn’t be frivolous with spending, because bills and rent and more important things needed taking care of first. He became extremely controlling and jealous too. Didn’t want me to work as a driver anymore, because I liked it and picked up men. Even though it was strictly professional. He’d bought a car from my father, but didn’t want to drive it, because it was too slow, and he couldn’t drive on the busy highways. He said. So we shared my car. After 4 months of depression with me staying at home with our puppy, the penny dropped. And here we are. Here I AM anyway. Almost 2 months behind in rent. My credit card is maxed out (which I never had before,) all because I just had to give in to his whims and demands to keep some sort of peace. Emotionally beaten down.

Then all of the sudden a few weeks ago, I NEED TO WORK he told me. He can’t do it all on his own, and more types of verbal and emotional abuse. So I have been trying to get back to work, but almost every time I come home, there’s drama. He had my things packed at the front door once, or just makes me feel miserable to ruin the fact I enjoyed my shift. I have pawned things to come up with some money. He refuses to pawn things he owns.

I don’t want to be with him anymore, but we both signed the lease. And the only downfall of self employment is lack of healthcare. (I’m relying on his benefits as well, seeing the doctor I love, and saw when I was with the last headache.) He said I could take my name off the lease when we pay rent, but I know if I do, he’ll start saying it’s his apartment and I need to move out. I like where we live. Especially the location. It’s perfect for my work, being so close to the airport.

He’s extremely manipulative. Always playing games, and furthermore, I found out he’s also cheated. He has hidden dating apps on his phone. I have reason to believe he’s installed spyware in my phone as well. To keep tabs on me. Same thing the guy I saw before did. So, I am in a public library writing this to keep my privacy.

I don’t know what to do. I thought about going back to England, because I’m somewhat homesick, but I can’t leave my puppy behind. He’s a pitbull, and he’s not allowed entry there, and here, he’d be abused. I also have an adopted cat I love, too.

So, the only thing I can hope to ask for is enough money to catch up on my rent. Perhaps enough to help me get back on my feet again. To set aside, so I actually CAN leave in the near future and head southwest. Start a new life in another state. I have dreams and goals of getting so far in life with a career, though I feel I need trauma healing therapy, and abilities to create to create stronger boundaries to get there.

Thank you for reading my plea. And if you made it this far, thank you again for taking the time to. Genuinely appreciative. Have a blessed day.

Tragic Car Accident Has Led to Unemployment

Greetings!

I was a full-time rideshare driver. That is how I made a living to provide for me and my child. Unfortunately, I was in a tragic car accident on 8/4/2023. A driver failed to yield at a stop sign and crossed an intersection that I had the right way and my car was totaled. I didn’t have a stop sign or a stop light which is why I had the right of way. Even though I tried to yield when they came darting across the intersection it was too late. They were found at fault. Yes, they had insurance and yes I settled with their insurance however my credit is in terrible shape and I have not been able to get approved for a loan for a new car. The sad unfortunate part is my car was almost paid off and I had plans to take my money and put that towards repairing my credit. I only had $1700 left on my loan and planned on doubling up on payments so I could pay it off. My credit took a huge hit during COVID and it’s better than it was 3 years ago but still needs work. I don’t know what else to do. I haven’t worked since the accident. I have paid my bills through the end of September. I have been looking for work in hopes that I could at minimum take public transportation to a job. I was okay with doing that because I’ve done it in the past. Plus it would save me some money. Being a rideshare driver is expensive when you tally up all your expenses. So I would have been able to save quite a bit of money to repair my credit and a good down payment for a new vehicle in the future. I have applied to so many places based on my experience in corporate America. There is a rideshare program to rent a vehicle through Uber and that costs $300 a week which is my last resort. I’d rather not go that route but I will if I have to. In my area, there is a waiting list that I am on. I am simply asking for help with getting a vehicle. I think a bigger down payment would assist me in this car-buying process because of my credit. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Requesting $20,000 to build a mobile flameworking studio to teach and blow glass

Well hello there!

I am a glassblower/flameworker and have been working with glass for the last few years. In that time, I have developed a reputation for having standout glass character designs and speedy turnaround for wholesale and retail orders. Previously, I worked out of my home studio but I have since moved out of state for my husband’s work. Because we are now renting, I cannot have a studio and there are no renters where I live willing to let me set up shop.

This is where you’re amazing generosity may come in. I am raising funds to build a mobile glassblowing/flameworking studio. This studio will not only house all of the equipment necessary to make glass sculptures, but also will house a small gallery to show allow potential clients to view, in real time, what their finished products will look like. There will be at least 3 workstations, so that I can teach classes while traveling and at shows. Essentially, this studio will be used to travel to different locations and schools to not only make and sell glassworks, but also to teach those that wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity.

At this time, I am only asking for $20,000 that will be used to build the studio, buy torches and kilns for the workstations.

Please help me reach my goal and thank you so much for even considering it and reading my plea. I hope you have a wonderfully, generous day!

Embracing the Challenge: Starting a Local Computer Support Business

Hey everyone! 👋 I wanted to share a bit about my journey into entrepreneurship and the challenges I’m facing while trying to kickstart a computer support business aimed at helping our local businesses in need of reliable IT support. 🖥️💼

The Vision: I’ve always had a passion for technology, and I believe that every local business should have access to affordable and dependable IT services. Our community is teeming with small businesses, but many of them struggle with their computer systems and networks due to budget constraints.

The Hurdles: One of the most significant challenges on this journey is securing the funding needed to turn this vision into a reality. Launching a business comes with upfront costs that can be quite daunting, including registering the business, setting up a professional online presence, and acquiring the essential software and hardware.

Investing in Knowledge: Staying on top of the ever-evolving tech landscape is crucial. I’ve been investing in my skills and knowledge to provide top-notch IT support to our local businesses, which means training and certifications—another cost to factor in.

Connecting with Clients: Building a client base is a gradual process. I’ve been attending local business events, joining associations, and even cold-calling potential clients. However, making these connections takes time, and sometimes, a financial investment is needed to speed up the process.

Cash Flow Concerns: Managing cash flow can be a real tightrope walk, especially in the early stages. There are operating expenses like utilities, transportation, and insurance that need to be covered even before substantial income starts flowing in from clients.

Scaling Up: Looking ahead, I’m excited about the potential to grow the business. But that too requires funding—whether it’s hiring additional staff, expanding our services, or investing in advanced IT tools to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

The Way Forward: While the journey has its share of challenges, I’m not giving up. I’m exploring various funding options, from personal savings to business loans and even grants. My determination to provide local businesses with reliable IT support keeps me going, and I believe that with the right strategy and community support, we can make this vision a reality.

Donations to a small business like mine are very much appreciated. Your support mean the world to me as I work towards bringing affordable and dependable IT solutions to our local businesses!

Need helping paying off debts

Hey, I’m working towards paying off debts but it’s been challenging. First I want to thank you all in advance for helping me. I really appreciate you all.

I have several loans and a credit card that I used to pay for school, books for classes, bills, food, etc during the pandemic 2020 when I was laid off because of the Covid shutdown.

Since then I’ve worked several jobs at a time to pay back these loans and credit card but life happen. I really want and pray to financially free of debt and to be able to breathe and enjoy life. Without worry of debts.

Thank you for taking out the time to read my story.

LAST HOPE

I’m a young woman who has worked all her life. This is no sob story and im not looking for sympathy but empathy. I won’t make this statement long and this is quite embarrassing for me to admit but i need help.

I lost everything after the passing of my parents during covid. I lost my Job and our home since i couldn’t keep up with the payments. i had just finished university and been actively looking for employment but to no avail.

it’s been really hard getting back on my feet. my parent’s funeral bills are £20,000. I also have a health condition that requires £2,000 every month for treatment. Im an only child, and there’s no one to help me. My parents family don’t want to help and have become oblivious to this whole ordeal. I have requested for a payment plan and been asked to pay for my parent’s bodies to be stored until payment is made so I took out a loan of £5,000 for this. I’ve been working odd shifts here and there but not enough to even make a dent and merely surviving. I’ve also been sofa surfing from friends.

I have tried charities and been left on a waiting list for over 2 years. I am really struggling to keep afloat, my health is deteriorating and have suicidal thoughts every day but i can’t allow myself to give up. I’ve sold everything i owned, including my car to meet these payments.

As i write this, im very upset and at wits end. i don’t want to be a burden to anyone and if you’ve come this far in my story, i am truly moved and would appreciate your help. I need a total of £40,000 but any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much

Emergency Need of Money

Hello,

My name is Sophie Swan. I am a Greek 30-year-old woman. Since I was a teenager, I have been struggling with depression, and at the same time, I had to study at the University of Physics and work as a waitress. It took me several years to finish the university because I was always poor and the employees in Greece paid so little, such as 30 euros for 10 hours of work. I am about to graduate now, and I am going to study at the University of Psychology. I succeeded in overcoming my depression, and I have a vision: to help others do the same! If someday I become rich, I would like to make donations to those who suffer from hunger, poverty, illnesses, and mental issues! This is my purpose in life. I believe in Jesus and in all people with pure hearts full of love and light! And you are one of them! I am trying this period of my life so hard! I am struggling with financial issues, like my rent and other bills, because I lost my job recently. Please help me to do something better in my life! I don’t want more than 3000-5000 euros to overcome this situation and continue my dreams! I promise to refund you back as soon as possible! That’s a promise And if you can’t help me, that is okay too! Thank you so much for your time! God bless you all!

My best regards, Sophie Swan

Need Help! Facing foreclosure soon.

Hello,

My name is Mr. Rogers and I’m married with 7 kids in the home from ages 4-17. Currently my family is facing a foreclosure on our mortgage. It all started a year ago when I got laid off from my full-time job and begin doing gig work like amazon and grocery deliveries to make ends meet. As a result I was able to keep food on the table and pay some small bills, but was getting behind on the mortgage. Today I’m happy to say that I have a new full time job and part time too. My attempt to catch up on my mortgage has been very challenging. I’ve managed to get close to being able to pay the reinstate fee, but is short $5000. I’m asking for help to save my family from being homeless this winter. I would greatly appreciate any amount right about now. Thank you and God bless.

University fees

I am a PhD student. I started my PhD program in 2021 at MEDIU university in Malaysia. I enrolled to the university because I believed that I could pay all the school fees by myself due to the online teaching job that I was doing in 2021. Unfortunately, the families that I was teaching at then had financial problems and then stopped. This stopping seriously affected my income including my education.

I have paid more than half of the school fees (the whole is more than $ 6000 USD. The rest is only $ 3,100. I would really appreciate those who can help me pay this school fees. It’s urgent. May God help you.

I have the university admission letter with me to prove that I am studying in that university (Al-Madinah International University) MEDIU.

INJURED – Back Rent and Car Repair HELP

I went through a monumental set back back in my life having to start with nothing and have climbed up out of homelessness into my own apartment.  I badly injured myself that has taken over 2 years to recover from and have started physical therapy the end of August.  My landlord has been patiently waiting for the amount I owe in back rent.  I cannot physically work yet.  I need $3,000 for back rent plus $1,000 for current rent and $3,000 to repair my car and get it registered.  It is parked with 2 flat tires that keep going flat after repair work at auto shop.  I need new set of tires for winter and  emission work and windshield to get my car to pass state inspection and get the registration and license plate for it so I have transportation to a job once I can work a job again.  I need $7,000 which will keep me from being evicted and being homeless and have transportation to get to work in the very cold snowy climate in Vermont in winter coming soon.

I had broken my leg and nearly ripped all of my ligaments on both knees.  I could not walk for a long time.  My apartment is upstairs and I was home bound because I could not go up and down stairs.  I am walking now but still have great difficulty with stairs.  I have a few more months of physical therapy and healing before I can return to a job.  I only receive food stamps and no other source of income.  It has been a struggle each month asking  for help with phone bill and car insurance paid by a disabled friend on very low income.  When I am healed, I can work again and support myself.

I just went through a terrible flood disaster in July in Vermont.  Everything  in front and back of my house washed away in the flood.  I am trying to hold on after having climbed my way up from nothing.   I have trained for good job when healed so am nearly back on my feet when I am recovered enough to start working if my financial need is met by caring people who can help me.

Bless you for helping me! paypal.me/Sparklingbluesaphire

Help us Buy Our 1st Home

Dear Donor,

My husband and I would first thank you for taking the time to read this and donating. We are asking for your help to achieve home ownership as at this time we can’t do it on our own. We have been trying to do everything necessary to be in a good position to achieve our dream of homeownership, but like Murphy’s law when something’s go wrong, it really goes wrong. We started the process by the end of 2020. We did the normal things such as pulling our credit reports, checked our finances with a professional to have an overall idea of our spending and where to cut back, and created a plan to improve our credit scores, save money and payoff credit cards. We both had relatively good jobs and thought that would be the next step for us. In 2021, I even started a small business which gave us extra income to achieve our goal faster. Everything was going well, until September of 2021. First, my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer. The news alone was devastating but the worst part is that he lives overseas, and his insurance would not cover the treatment. The majority of my family that lives overseas and many communicated that they could not help with the treatment costs. My parents were already retired and living on a limited income, so after discussing it with my husband, we used the money we had saved to pay for the cost of the treatment. Then my grandmother fell down and broke her hip for which again we helped with hospital costs not covered by the insurance. Honestly I would do it again as they are my grandparents and it was the right thing to do. By November of 2021 my husband and I got COVID. It was full blown COVID and we spent about a month and a half out of work. Thank goodness that we had vacation time accumulated as both being so sick, we couldn’t work. So we had to used our credit cards just for a couple of weeks. When we finally were cleared in late December, my husband came back to work to a hostile environment. Apparently his boss was reprimanded because despite having four other people in the department, their work fell behind because my husband was out sick. It came to light that my husband completed at least 70% of the department’s workload. His boss started to add more work, impossible deadlines and made his work life a living hell. The situation went off for months even after involving HR. My husband was at the brink of insanity. My breaking point was when during a dental appointment, our dentist stated that my husband has grinded his teeth within a couple of months so severely that they would need to do crowns on all of his teeth costing $30k, which of course our dental insurance didn’t cover. I was so afraid on my husband’s mental state that I told him to quit his job. My salary alone could cover the main bills and with the extra income from my business, it would have been ok. We did some readjustments to our plan and knew we had to push back our goal a bit. We agreed that he would help me with the business instead of going for another job as I was not able to handle all myself to give him time to mentally recuperate. He agreed after one of our furry babies got sick and even after all the money we paid for treatment, we had to put her to sleep.
For three months after my husband quit his job, we did well. During those first three months, I also got a job offer for the same position with another company but of course better salary so I accepted it.  We felt that we were going to go back on track until one day, a person that used to be our friend asked me to borrow my car to visit her grandmother who was sick. This person said that her car was being repaired and offer to pay me some money for allowing her to use my car. I had started to work remotely for my new job so I didn’t see the harm. I had already taken my vehicle for service a couple of weeks prior and everything was in top shape so I agreed. She was late in returning my vehicle and when she did, I had to go an pick it up with a tow truck at her house. When I took the vehicle to the dealership, I was told that the transmission had gone bad and had to be replaced. I was besides myself when I heard that as my vehicle which I had purchased brand new five years prior was in excellent condition. Plus, I had my vehicle appraised close to $12k right after the last service (my husband and I were thinking of paying off the balance of $3k with some extra money that was going to come in and sell the car to use the money as a down payment). We didn’t have the money to do the repairs, the warranty had lapsed a month prior and a vehicle that I still owed money on was basically worthless. I was offered $500 to junk it. The so called friend refused to pay for the repairs as the mechanic indicated that he could not say for sure if this person did anything to it because my car has a cvt transmission and they just go bad. The dealership where I purchased and serviced my car would not pay for the repairs either. We looked for lawyers and no one wanted to take the case. So I paid off the vehicle, and after a lot of debate decided to do the repairs. I decided to take my vehicle to a reputable transmission shop. I was quoted $5,400 for part, labor and taxes. On top of that since my car is small, a new transmission is hard to come by. So I was set up with a company that would  allow me to make monthly payments. I reviewed the contract and signed it. After making payments for a couple of months, I requested a statement because the company had failed to provide one and I was having issues logging into their website. When I got the statement, I was in shock. This company was charging me $12k between the cost of repairs, interest and taxes. Their contract did not mention the interest as because the contract was considered a rent to own one, it didn’t have to list it.I fought this company until they agreed to settle. However, I ended up paying them $7k. After that it has been a series of events that kept pushing our goal far away. The last part that happened which it is the reason why I come to you for help is that our building was sold to a new owner. The new owner has now indicated that by January 1, our rent is going to increase to almost twice of what we pay now, and to be quite honest the apartment is not worth. It is a studio with approximately 400 sqft. We have been approved for a mortgage but what we lack is the down payment. Unfortunately we won’t have enough time to raise the money ourselves. If we can raise up to $20,000, it would help us tremendously.  We have no one else to turn to. Thank you again for reading this and for your contributions to achieve one of our dreams. You can send it via cashapp $ranOBBB1. Again thank you.
