My goal is to become financially stable. I’m tired of living paycheck to paycheck and having to choose between paying rent, having power, or eating. I will always choose to pay my rent above anything else.  I just haven’t been able to get back on my feet after losing my mom back in August of 2022. That was really hard on me mentally going to the hospital everyday for a month seeing her in pain and discomfort and knowing she wasn’t going to make it. She didn’t want to be DNR and wanted to be at home when she passed. My sister was the power of attorney and decided to make her DNR and wouldn’t let her die in her own home. I was the one who visited every chance I could. I would sit there for hours just staring at her. When my sister put her on comfort care, I could tell she wasn’t comfortable at all. She was getting hives from the OxyContin and she was itchy. I had to ask for some anti itch cream so I could put it on her. She went in the hospital July 13th and on August 15th she was to go on hospice. I wanted to be there when she passed cause I didn’t want her to be alone on August 14th I was on my way to go see her when my sister called and told me she had passed.  She died from liver and kidney failure due to cirrhosis of the liver from her alcoholism. My world had flipped upside down. It felt like my life was paused as the world around me was still going. My life forever changed. I didn’t take her death well. She was the first person in my life that was close to me that died.  I was just lost. My sister sold her house to pay off all her bills and whatever else that needed to be paid. I lost my job, lost my house, and just lost my way.
My bills were stacking up as I couldn’t pay them with no income.   I finally got a job in May of 2023 and moved into a house with my boyfriend. Things were looking good and was almost on track and than my boyfriend lost his job. So now we were relying on just my income which was enough to pay rent and get gas in the car to make it to work. My boyfriend’s car got repossessed. He finally got a new job that he loves, amazing. We now have a double income.  We have been trying to play catch up, but can’t seem to come out on top. With him being out of work he hasn’t been able to make payments on his child support. They are now going to be garnishing his wages for even more than what he’s supposed to pay. He has no problem paying it but now we have less income to work with to get back on track. So, I’m here today to swallow my pride and ask for some help.

I tried to get a personal loan from my bank to pay off my credit cards and just have one bill with a way lower interest rate, but was declined since my credit score dropped 200 points due to all the missed payments. My bills from credit cards being back up is close to $10,000. I owe $19,000 on my car, and my rent is $2,100. I need $800 to make my car current and $1000 for June rent. I can continue making payments on everything else. I’m basically asking for at least $2000 to help us get back on our feet so our stress levels can subside.  We would be forever grateful. I need help getting a used fuel van for transportation.

At 62 and if I am very honest with my situation, I feel that I have not achieved much since I arrived to America 22 years ago from Africa. It is not that I have not worked hard, rather what I can term as hard luck may have been one factor that had hindered financial success till now. I can honestly say that I have also been working persistently over these years but however not persistent at a job because we have been relocation  from state to state due of job mobility mainly occasioned by my wife who sadly has been the major bread winner.

I will gladly say that I have a niche in transportation. I ran a medical transportation company in Louisiana for almost 8 years. I had close it down as many did, because I went into debt because of high insurance premiums  that made it impossible to remain in business. In between the transportation venture, I worked for Walmart, several other job that I need not to mention here.

Unlike many immigrates, my non completion of a university education is also a major contributing factor. I did enroll in  colleges, but along the line had to quite because I had to do more than one job to help my God given wife dealing with financial need for children in school/college even at present.

I will say this, and God will bear me witness, I will recycle successes of goodwill from what I termed assured success in my new quest for continual human endeavor

All meaning contribution will be channeled solely for the purpose of getting a van and the accessories ..insurance, equipment and certifications . I need to move and redirect my efforts driving for Uber because I make far less that minimum wage in Arizona.

There are much that I can say here, as to why I am seeking help. Such would be countless request from family and friends in Africa who thing life here is on a platter of gold not realizing that there are days that I drive 10hrs for Uber.

I know what goodwill is all about. I extent that always even with my very meager resources. My life has been governed by love for humanity. I believe and Know for sure that whatever you so, that will you reap.

I am counting on men of goodwill, love and desire to see others with genuine desire to elevate there situation to come to my aid. I want to that you in advance should you be moved to act accordingly

Looking for a saviour

Good evening,
I am a Scottish woman who lives in Edinburgh, UK.
Seven years ago my partner walked out on my children and I for another woman.  He was a serial cheater and not a very nice person.
We were not married and as such, I was left with nothing.  I had to find a flat for the children and I.  My children were 18 months and 5 years old respectively (daughter and son).
I had no job, no furniture, nothing.
I decided that I wanted to make sure my children were brought up as well as I possibly could achieve.  So, I researched the best free state primary school in Scotland and moved to a flat in that area.  My children have thrived.  My daughter is a girl scout and goes to piano lessons every week.  My son is a boy scout and goes to tennis and football lessons each week.  They are kind, funny, clever and a benefit to humankind.
I decided to go to college and completed an access to university course in Mechancial engineering.  I achieved an AAA result. I then applied to go to university and was accepted on to a Physics degree at The university of Edinburgh.  I looked after two very young children and done a Phyics degree while living in abject poverty.  I slept on a couch for years as I could not afford a bed.  This is testamount to my character.  I done everything myself with no help.  I dont even own a car.  I walked my children 1.3 miles to their school every day and bvack, then went to university.  Then walked another 1.3 miles to the school and back to pick them up.  Got home, clean, tidied, made a home made meal, bathed the children, played with them, read to them, made their packed lunches for school the next day…  Then sat studying subjects such as Electromagnetism, vector calculus and thermal physics to name just three modules.
Many people always quip how hard being a parent is; let alone a single parent.  Let me tell you; the single parent thing seemed like a walk in the park compared to a trying to do a Physics degree as a mature student.  I was under acute stress.  In hindsight, it was totally menatl to do a degree while looking after two under 5’s on my own with zero support.
The children and I stayed in our privately rented flat for 7.8 years.  Last July we were evicted and I had to find somewhere else to live.  I am a model tenant and my landlord needed to sell the flat I was renting.  This was incredibly stressful due to the housing shortage in Edinburgh.  There are like 10 people looking to rent for every property available.
There is a housing emergency in Scotland and particularly Edinburgh where I live.  Therefore I cannot get a council/social housing provided by the council.  I have been on the waiting list for a home for 5.6 years (current average time to get a social home is now 19 years).
It was a miracle that I managed to find a flat in the same catchment area for the children’s schools.  If we had to move to another area it would have caused so much psychological distress to the children being removed from their communities.
My rent increased from £980 per month to £1550 per month.
I passed my Physics degree and have been working for 3 years now.  Happy to provide my degree certificate if anyone wants proof of anything to donate.
I have always managed to support the children and I.  I have never asked for financial assistance in 8 years.  I have always paid my bills and rent.  However, this month I am short of rent of £550.
I am so frightened of not paying my full rent in time (due Tuesday), as that can be reason for eviction.
I would love the option of repaying any donation back in intsalments but i think this is anonymous.
If anyone out there would be kind enough to donate anything, I would forever be indebted to your generosity.  On every walk to the school every morning I would say thank you out loud into the air and wish you good fortune forever.

Help needed

There is so much, my mind is heavy, don’t know or where to start. Am in my 50s have two beautiful girls, they are my world, am a hard worker, but hours are cut, not enough to meet our needs, i try to be happy but its so so hard, i need help. Help with paying off Loans so that I can help my family

I am writing the post to ask for help with paying off loans so that I can help my family. Unfortunately when I was younger I was not the most financially responsible and managed to get in quite a bit of debt and I am struggling to clear this debt off.

This month my Landlord raised my rent by £400 and I am struggling to pay this now with everything else. My sister broke up with her boyfriend and is struggling to look after herself and my niece and they are currently living with my mum who is struggling to look after and provide for them.

Please help me save my home and land

I am Chandrapala and I am from Sri Lanka. I am a small entrepreneur. I have a book shop. I started my small business in 2018. Before I started this shop I got a bank loan for it. I put all my properties(home & land)  to the bank as a collateral to get my bank loan. Unfortunately, we faced COVID-19 pandemic period and me and my family also suffered from this virus so I had to close my shop for a few months. After the COVID-19 pandemic period Sri Lanka’s economic situation was completely changed. The government decided to increase the bank loan monthly rental, so our monthly installment was increased. Then we couldn’t pay up the loan rental because our day-to-day cost of living( foods medicine etc.) also increased. All the costs are done by the shop’s profit, so we had to pawn the jewelry and sell my motorbike to maintain the shop and pay up the bank loan rental. So I could not pay up my loan properly because of that reason my loan had big areas. Sri Lankan government decided power cut daily(six hours per day) so this is the one of main problem of the low profit of the shop. I borrowed some money from my friends and some other neighbors to pay the bank loan. Not only that, the electricity bill, telephone bill, water bill and shop rental are also too high but the shop has no big profit. Some days I paid for all the things. After that I have no enough money to get the meals for my family. I really faced a big crisis. Now I have no one to ask help for me. I had no other income. As of today, my home and land will be owned by the bank. I have no money to release it. The bank gives us only six months  to release our home & land. For my business I got small loans to buy selling items and pay up my first loan. after the COVID-19 pandemic. Period. I’ve had no good profit from it so now I face a big crisis. I want to save my home and land but I have no enough money to release it. I just want $20000 to release my home and land. Without this property, we have no place to live. I have two children and both are below four years. My business has fallen down now. I try to increase it like before, but it has no selling items like before. I have no money to buy them. I have no other source of income, jewelry is also owned by the bank. Because of the COVID-19 period my business had fallen down and that period the goods were also very expensive so I had to pay the big cost of the goods(selling items).Now I just want to release my home and land from the bank because, without this home and land, we have no place to live. Help me become a teacher

Hi, my name is Kyle, I have spent the last 5 years trying to save money to afford college. Unfortunately, with rising cost of living and fully supporting myself financially this has been difficult. I have finally saved enough to start my first semester. I have already been accepted into Kennesaw State University and their estimation for the costs would be about $12,000 per semester or $24,000 per year and my goal would be to get my bachelor’s in education followed by a master’s in teaching. Anything is helpful and much appreciated!

Why teaching? I love the environment; I’ve been in a leadership role for a youth group, middle and high school, for nearly 4 years. Going on missions-oriented trips with a ministry group called rebuilding hope, helping model virtues and helping de-escalate arguments, and teaching young men life lessons, moral lessons, and responsibilities as they grow up. Another big part of my choice is that there is a great need for teachers, especially people who want to be teachers. I know from my public schooling experience that there is such a big difference in the students when a teacher treats their students like they’re important instead of treating them like the worst part of a job. My third reason, and I try to say this with humility because I have plenty of growing to do, is that I have a good skill set for the job. I er on the side of patience and seeing the best in people’s actions, I naturally look for each side of the story before trying to mediate, and I love to learn; they say the best way to learn is to teach!

Emergency Hysterectomy to save my life

Hi everyone, I’m a 28 year old woman who is used to being a high achieving self challenging multi skilled person who has come down with an emergency critical condition that is affecting my ability to work right now.

I have to have an emergency surgery within the next month and a half or my condition could become complicated enough to risk my life.

 

I got diagnosed with adenomyosis, late stage endometriosis, and a bunch of fibroid tumors that are all growing at a rapid rate and now blood loss is an actual active concern that being exacerbated by my condition. My uterus is so swollen with tumors it cannot contract to stop bleeding. It’s been 3 weeks and it has not stopped, and I had a tumor detach and get stuck in my cervix nearly sending me to the ER but i have been putting off going to the emergency hospital until the specialist who diagnosed me can perform the surgery, which they are wanting to do within this month after hearing the symptoms I’m experiencing.

im not just a low skill level worker, I learned how to drive 50ft charter boats at 22, and continued to drive charters into my mid twenties, worked at one of the largest multi floor outdoor restaurants in the area for years, managed a cafe during COVID while most people got to stay home I worked overtime the entire pandemic and did so without insurance or hazard pay, I went to boat surveying school early last year and that’s when this condition started.

all I want to do is be able to go back to work.

but currently I can barely get out of bed without high blood pressure from anemia, I can barely stand up from the pain and swelling in my abdomen, and I just need help with humble living expenses and the portion of the bill that will not be covered by insurance when having an emergency hysterectomy

Debt Help, Please

I am a single mother living with five kids (12yo, 6yo, 4yo, and twin 2yo) at home. My spouse had an affair and left us when the twins were only 6 weeks old (yes, you read that right). The children and I are presently living with my parents (which is a miserable situation on its own) while I struggle to get back on my feet.

Abandoned Abused Mom, Rebuild My Life and Pursing Creative Dreams

Hello,

My name is Arielle, but I go by “Elle.” I’m reaching out because I’m in a really tough spot and need help. After 25 years of marriage, my husband left me. I found myself alone in an unfamiliar area with a lot of debt and no support from friends or family. I was a ward of the state from birth until I was 16, so I don’t have a family to fall back on.

I title this an Abandoned Mom because I am a mother and my adult children fault me for my marriage choice, for not being able to find a way out and they do not want the responsibility of helping me in anyway. My husband was not the only one abusive towards me.

Right now, I’m living out of my car with my service dog. I used to do a lot of painting, sculpting, and building, but being homeless has made that impossible. I do have an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil, so I’ve started creating digital art. I set up an Etsy store and a Print-on-Demand account with Printful, but I haven’t been able to sell anything yet because I don’t know how to market or advertise my work.

I’ve tried getting help from others, but it hasn’t gone well. One man who offered to help damaged my car, which is why I’m now living in it. The car’s battery was already depleting before he hit it, but this makes it even harder to get by.

My service dog and I are doing our best, but it’s really hard to stay hopeful without a stable place to live. The constant worry about where we’ll sleep or if we’ll have enough to eat is exhausting.

I’m asking for help to find some stability. Even a month in a hotel would make a huge difference. It would give us a safe place to stay and allow me to focus on selling my art and rebuilding my life. Your support could really help us get through this tough time.
