In need of some help until I am able to return to work

 Before I tell my story I’d like to thank you for reading this.  The fact that you and I have never met and you are taking time out of your day to see what has brought me to this site to ask for help is a wonderful thing and I truly appreciate it. 

  Before April 18th of 2017 I was an optimistic person. I truly believed everything happened for a reason. I kept my positive outlook in spite of the fact that I had divorced my husband after 2 years of marriage preceded by 17 years of friendship. I had been fired from my job that I had for 7 years (the first and only time I’ve been fired) because my boss (my brother’s mother in law) was angry that I lost weight and started a rumor that I was bulemic. She threatened my job over her lie, told me to digest what she said, harassed me for a year and even made me come back from my honeymoon a day early because she forgot to do my review before she fired me. Because of that  I lost my house. I was buying it from my cousin and only owed $8,000.00 after paying him $23,000.00. I missed 3 payments and he took it back.  I even kept a positive outlook after my youngest Chihuahua Abby and her puppies passed away due to complications during her labor. I let my ex husband take our cat Wesley and I took my terrier Fez and my chihuahuas Jayden and Scrappy and briefly moved in with the man I was dating at the time. He had a few mental conditions and became extremely abusive. My best friend introduced me to her good friend and he acted as if he was my knight in shining armor. By this time a close friend had given me her Chihuahua named Cricket and I knew that 4 dogs was a lot for the new man in my life to take on when he moved me out of my exes and into his home. Cricket was pregnant as well so I talked to my brother and he took Jayden and Scrappy for me. The plan was when Cricket’s puppies went to their new homes I would pick Jayden and Scrappy up and bring them home. Everyone agreed that it was a good idea-until the day the puppies went to their forever homes. My brother wanted one of the puppies so she was the last one that I dropped off that day. As I kissed her goodbye I got my babies back and I was so happy. When I got home that evening I brought them in and was so excited to have them all together again-until my boyfriend looked at me and said that they were too much and we all had to go.        My dear friend Liz and her husband Tony had just bought the house they had been renting and offered me and my babies a place to stay. The house needed a lot of work and they knew that I was capable of doing the work with them. I was also working for an interior designer at the time that would sell me the materials that they needed to me for a very low price. Everything seemed like it was going to be ok. That lasted for about 2 weeks.

  I was at my boss’s house doing his landscaping. I left around noon to pick Liz and her husband up and drop them off at her doctor’s office for an appointment she had that day. Her brother in law was going to pick them up whenever they were ready to go home because I had to get back to work.

  At the end of each work day my boss would go to the bank while I finished up whatever needed done and I would leave when he returned. Not long after he left my phone rang and it was Tony’s brother telling me that the house was on fire. I tried to call my boss as I was running to my car to tell him I was leaving but he couldn’t understand what I was saying. I drove as fast as I could and had to park my car a block or so from my house. There was a very large crowd of people from the neighborhood and I fought through it only to be told that I couldn’t go near the house. No one knew where my babies were. I stood there for 4 hours waiting for the fire to be extinguished so that animal control could go inside and locate my 4 pups and Liz and Tony’s dog and their 3 cats. He found my babies curled up together  in my bed. The smoke took their lives. I thank God the fire didn’t touch them.  My whole world turned upside down that day and it’s still hard to get through each day without breaking down. 3 months after the fire I told a stranger that I saw walking his Chihuahua that she was adorable and he asked if I wanted her. I could never replace my babies but Zadie came home with me the next day and she’s been my sidekick ever since. Every time I think things are getting better life surprises me with new obstacles. That brings me to the reason that I’m here asking for your help. 

  On November 17th of 2022 I was using my f-150 to help my Mom. My grandparents had went into a nursing home in June and their neighbor was going to buy the house from them. The closing was in a few days and the garage still needed cleaned out. My grandpa passed away the night before I was going to clean the garage and my Mom was a wreck. I loaded the bed of the truck for the first trip and headed back into town to unload it and make a 2nd trip. I decided to stop to get something to eat. While I was at a complete stop with my turn signal on waiting for traffic to pass so that I could turn into the restaurant a man driving a Ford edge ran a red light and rear ended me. The police later told me that he was going at least 45mph in a 35mph zone and never touched his brakes. He hit my truck so hard that the bed folded  like an accordion, the dash popped off, the back windshield busted out and my face hit the steering wheel so hard that it knocked me out. I remember telling myself to open my eyes because if I didn’t I was dead. The pain was excruciating and it was terrifying thinking that. I’m assuming I thought that way because of an accident that I was in in August of 1997. That accident put me in a coma for 11 days and left me with no memory of the weeks before the accident, the day off the accident, being in the hospital and even the first couple of weeks that I was home.  This was due to a fractured skull and the swelling of my brain that required emergency surgery. The pain has gotten worse and my quality of life went downhill fast. I went to physical therapy 3 times a week for more than 3 months. This did not help me at all. I saw a doctor a couple of hours away and he sent me to get an MRI. The results showed that my L4 and L5 vertebrae are herniated. The damage to my L4 is pressing on the root to the nerve in my right leg. This has made it impossible for me to walk more than a couple of feet without having to stop and try to position my leg so that the pain subsides. I was referred a spinal surgeon and and I am scheduled to have surgery on my L4 next week. Although the surgery is scheduled on my birthday  I am very hopeful and very excited. The only issue is that my surgeon is about 3 hours from here so the appointments have been difficult to get to. I’m addition to my surgery I have 3 post op appointments to go to. My Mom and Dad have paid for the trips so far and my mom and my aunt have driven me to them but I know I can’t keep depending on them to do the same in the future. In addition to this I am living in a bad situation. My friend allowed me to move in to their house and I appreciate it so much-the only problem is that there’s no power and no water. It’s getting cold. There is a generator that I can use from time to time but that is expensive and I have no source of income other than my family giving me a little money from time to time. I have an attorney but I have no idea when the case will settle. It’s getting harder and harder to get by. Fortunately a video popped up on YouTube and that is where I learned about this website. I would like to get $5,000.00. This would cover my balance I owe to the power company and a few months of service, the fee to turn the water on and the service for a few months and the travel to my spinal surgeon’s office for my surgery and my post op appointments. I’m hoping after a few months I will be feeling fantastic and that I will be able to work again. Hopefully by then I’ll know when I’ll get a settlement and how much I will get. $5,000 is my goal but any help will  be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your time!

Seeking assistance falls outside my usual comfort zone. However, I’m aware that my current circumstances might wrongly portray me as a victim. In truth, I’ve managed to conquer numerous challenges and continue to persevere. I’ve now reached a point where I must humbly request some help, as everything I’ve strived for so far might be in vain otherwise.

My most pressing need at the moment is transportation. I currently reside in a facility for survivors of domestic abuse and human trafficking, and it’s in an area without access to public transportation. I’m on the verge of completing my culinary education, with a graduation date of 12/23/23. I’m scheduled to start my hands-on externship on 11/15/23, where I need to accumulate 150 hours in a professional kitchen. Thankfully, I’ve secured a site for my externship that has also offered me employment, allowing me to start my culinary career while completing my educational requirements.

Ultimately, my goal is to own a food truck and relocate to the West Coast, leaving behind the trauma and hardships of my current situation. I’m determined to work two jobs to save money and expedite this transition. Reliable transportation is my most immediate need, but I’m willing to put in the effort to make everything else happen. I hope you can see this as a potential hand up rather than a handout, and I am committed to paying it forward in the future.

I need financial assistance for College

I spent most of 2022 taking coursework that would lead me to becoming certified to work with addiction recovery and abuse recovery clients.  The course had two choices for the course, 18 months or a 9 month fast track course.  I took the 9 month course and finished in December of 2022.  The program led me to believe that upon graduation, I would be able to open my own practice, but after graduating, I came to realize that that was not going to happen.  In order to start my own practice, I would need someone with at least a Master’s Degree, or a medical doctor on board in order to work with insurance companies.  Then there are all the typical expenses with starting such an operation… expenses that I cannot cover.

Needless to say, I was disappointed and felt as though I had wasted the time and money spent getting the certifications, and the fees that I had been paying continued, and would be increasing so I took leave from the organization.  Not being one to give up so easily, I decided that I would apply to a college in order to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.  I’ve started the process… filled out an application, applied for a Pell Grant, and provided my prospective college my Associates Degree transcripts, and now I’m just waiting to see if I’m accepted.

So I am 81 years old, and that may make some wonder why now?  Well, the answer is simple.  For most of my working life, I simply didn’t have the money to continue my education beyond my Associates Degree, and quite frankly I don’t have it now, but I have never given up on the idea of furthering my education, getting a Bachelor’s degree, and going back to work.

Just before I turned 65, I lost my job, and though I had been looking for the next 15 years for a job, no one would hire me, in spite of the fact that in my occupation for 30 years, computer typesetter and graphic design, I was highly skilled.  I know that the reason I couldn’t get hired was because of my age, but there was nothing I could do about that because it would be impossible to prove.

So my only income is Social Security, and that is not a whole lot of money, and though for 2023 the cost of living raise in my monthly check put an extra $149 in my check, every cent of that was eaten up quickly, because since then, every single bill I have increased, some of the increases were substantial… especially food.  Because I was getting food from the local community center, my bill for food each month had been about $50 to $75, but two things have changed.  First, the food from the community center has been slowly becoming less and less, and lacking in variety and quality… i.e. lots and lots of rice, and unhealthy snacks.  I’m now having to spend $150 to $200 a month on food, while actually getting what used to cost me $75 at most.  Every grocery item has increased, and its contribution to my monthly expenses is getting to where it’s not sustainable, and I fear that my already tight budget is only going to get worse, probably to the point where I just won’t have the money to pay all of my bills, and perhaps my mortgage.

So as the situation stands now, if I’m accepted to the college I applied to, unless I’m able to bring my expenses down, I will not be able to pursue my Bachelor’s degree, let alone pay my other bills, and so I’m hoping that some kind person with the ability to help would be willing to help me pay off my mortgage and my solar panels.  For that I would need $140,000.  My mortgage is right around $122,000. and the solar panels, if I paid them off today would be just under $19,000, for a total of approximately $141,000.

If I’m fortunate enough to have someone who can afford to help me with this, paying off these two large bills would put approximately an additional $700 in my checking account every month, and combined with the Pell Grant, I would be able to pay for my college expenses.  Some might think it foolish to go after a Bachelor’s degree at my age, but they do not know me.  I am not your typical 81 year old.  I am very active, in excellent health, and old age runs in my family, so I fully expect to live at least another 20 years, and I have no desire to just sit and watch television, waiting to die.  My passion has always been helping others, and for the first ten years of my working life, I worked in the social service arena.  The money wasn’t great, which is why I had to go into working in the print industry, but the satisfaction I got working within the social service arena was priceless.

Bank is dropping me into foreclosure (on 11/62023)

Hi. Hopefully  you can assist me. The bank is turning me over to attorneys for foreclosure on Monday 11/6. They haven’t yet but I checked today and it is going ot happen.  Can you somehow pay it? I no longer qualify for a loan. I don’t want to lose the house because in AZ they keep your equity. For reasons I can’t explain in 400 words, I did something I wouldn’t normally do (it was 2014) I paid a lot of money down (had to do with wife’s mental state) I own only 250K on a house now values at 750-800K (don’t believe Zillow .. its not worth 900K). The payment is 1790.  (I struck a good deal) a 1300ft2 rental house here is 2500.00 a month. I do NOT want to lose this house.   You should know I have had many homes in my life, and I’ve never had an issue).  I’ve learned in Arizona the bank get to keep your equity .. and my equity is 3 times what I owe.

Can you help me, and help me fast?  I can’t get a loan .. I have no money except what I get from plasma donation.  I can pay back a loan, or I can pay it forward if you like .. I have the perfect project to do that with. I am certain I will find a great job, or (if I have to give up of getting a high pay job) I’ll start another business..but right now I need to keep the house the equity, and the low monthly payment.  I’m energetic healthy, love to work, love to learn, luckily have 2 great kids, and (so   I thought) managed money growth reasonably well. I’ve changed my mind on that.   I’ve never had a vice except exercise and James Bond movies.

Can you help and help me fast so I don’t have attorney’s fees to make it worse?

I owned a successful business since 1998. It failed in 2020. Free lance (for former customers) covered me. That facilitated the time to find a high paying job (my skill and experience is HIGH in Electronics & related admin). In AZ electronic skills should be highly marketable. In 2021 my search began. (still quite a bit of $ investing since 21).  When a “good fit” came up I applied. Cash ran low just before the kids started college the cars old but fine, I take care of them). Luckily my kids were smart & got scholarships help which saved the day somewhat. My job hunt ramped up and I’ve spent 4 mos & spend 8 hours a day every weekday at least seeking employment; 3-4 custom a day, about 100 sent. After some rejects (2 last Friday). I sought help from 3 resume services (though my own were reasonably good).

Dental surgery

Dear members 

My name is Mag. I am a mother of 4 boys. We moved to the UK in October 2021. I work as a nurse. Before we came to the UK my elder son who is now 19years had an accident and fell onto his face and his front teeth all sank into his gums. This was corrected by pulling them out and they were fixed with braces. I received news of my new job with sponsorship after a few months of the surgery but not long enough for his review. 

When we arrived in the UK getting a referral to the dentist was difficult.  We asked our GP to refer him for possible removal of the braces but all his referral were rejected buy all nhs dentist. Meanwhile he began to have severe headaches and pain as part of the brace to the back of his tooth broke.This situation was now very worrying it was now over a year of back and forth with no help whatsoever.

When his headaches and pain became severe I took him to a private dentist who did x-rays and they revealed a new problem,  he had puss under all the teeth and he aspirated most of what was around the teeth.  This dentist informed us that he will need an operation can canal root tooth cleaning which he estimated over £600 for each tooth and 5 of them were badly affected.  I did not have that kind of money. He also made the referral again to specialists and few months down the line we took him to London for another x-rays.  The maxilofacial referral came back requesting atlest £6000 down payment to remove braces and then to do this canal root cleaning. This was a lot of money which our salaries combined would take years to accumulate.

This has been a very long nightmare which I have no idea how to solve. I ended up considering to travel back to Africa and get the braces removed which could be possibly cheaper but he is not able to travel alone due to his learning disabilities. Costs for 2 people traveling and surgery are not easy to accumulate.Now his pains and headaches continue I am getting more and more stressed but with the state of cost of living my hands are tight.

We have been managing him with antibiotics and analgesia recommended by the dentist until we get a way forward. I am writing to appeal to any one who can assist us to get his surgery done. I have tried the bank for a loan but it was declined. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you

Hopeless

I’ve never done anything like this but im desperate.  I am about to lose everything if i dont find someone to help me. I will give you the short version My husband and i worked hard our entire lives but i missed getting a pension by 6 months and my husband was told right before retirement that  his company sold and the new owners told him that his pension was gone! They said we could sue but they had more money than us and they would keep us in court till even if we won there would be nothing left it would go to legal fees.  So we tried to make it work.  It didn’t work and my husband had some health problems too. 3 year old died in devastating house fire

Today November 1st 2023, my brother and his wife lost their 3 years old son and their home to a devastating house fire. They have two other siblings who was  rescued who by a neighbor. I am therefore seeking some financial assistance on their behalf. No matter how small, our family will appreciate the donation, as they were unable to save anything at all. It’s a really sad day for our family as a few hours earlier we lost an uncle to natural death. As we morn these two souls in our family the tragic death of a child in this manner has torn us apart. Please help I lost my job. I suffered discrimination

Greetings to all, and I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for taking the time to peruse this message. I am a 51-year-old African American who has endured discrimination at the hands of a group of colleagues.

The lead and her best friend have a partnership in manipulating anyone and any data that doesn’t make them look good. Then they two new team members who are players on another toxic level. One of them is extremely unprofessional, and she applies that at work. I have been present to meetings with yelling, constantly talking overs and personal attacks. She tends to force people to serve her and if you don’t play by her book and her disguises you will get abusive treatment and completely ghosted. She makes promises that she does not fulfill in the last minute.  The other one uses theory to avoid doing anything. He has a theory for all but no practical experience instead resorting to techniques of gaslighting, constantly questioning and forcing you to justify what you are doing. They both have no clue of any procedures of the compant, they are not willing to apply them or consider them. They all control everyone else to comply with what they want.  And together they intoxicate anyone who wants to do an efficient work or who questions them. If you confront them and beg for collaboration and teamwork, they ghost you completely, they gaslight you, they don’t show up at meetings, they contradict the agreements and start the discussions over and over again so you can’t complete your work. They deny all that was previously agreed. They tell you that you are creating stories, and they totally block you. Once your work is not done due to the lack of collaboration, they start questioning it putting you at bad shape. Because I brought to attention the unfair strategy and the incomplete work, I was removed from meetings that I needed to be part of with the explanation that I inserted myself too much. It got to the point that I was almost completely barred from doing my work. And at the last step they remove/fire you from the team as had happened to me and many others.

Even though my contract was originally until next year, they suddenly fired me without much explanation. I have two kids to feed and didn’t expect this right now at all. I am in dire need of assistance to rebuild my life until I find a new job. Your support and attention to this message mean the world to me, and I sincerely thank you for it.

“Eviction Prevention”

Single mother of special needs adult child seeking financial assistance to prevent eviction from current apartment. Unfortunately I lost my job in September 2023 which has caused me to fall behind on my rent and utility bills. Medical bills help needed

I’m a retired stage 4 pancreatic cancer patient undergoing aggressive chemotherapy for the 2nd time starting 11/07/23. My care involves various cancer meds, CT scans, MRI, Radiation and Chemotherapy intravenously. I currently received only Social security and have aged out of its disability supplement. I’ve pursued and exhausted cancer grants some who offer 1 time help. My battle with pancreatic cancer will be 5 yrs. on my birthday 11/13/23. I got SCAMMED – Now falling behind in more debt – Please Help

I was drawn into what seemed like a legitimate “job” in the realm of cryptocurrency “investment.” The scammers involved me in high-risk crypto investments that promised exceedingly high returns. These investments operated through a series of “daily tasks” and initially paid out smaller sums as returns. For instance, I could “reserve a seat” with $100 and expect to receive $140 once the trade concluded. They primarily engaged in Futures trading on the crypto market, creating an illusion of genuine gains.

I naively believed that this method could help me pay off my credit card debt and settle overdue bills that had been accumulating. Consequently, I borrowed $11,000 from a private financial institution at a staggering interest rate of 35%. To fund these investments, I also borrowed from my wife’s credit line and relied on the generosity of two friends. This financial journey began on August 15, 2023, and for a brief period, it seemed like I was finally on the path to financial recovery. However, my hopes were dashed just two weeks later when I discovered that I had unwittingly embarked on the most significant mistake of my life, losing every cent I had invested.

I am currently engaged in a challenging pursuit to track down the scammers and, hopefully, recover some of the lost funds. This process is protracted and demands further financial resources, as I need to enlist the services of a cryptocurrency firm to trace the transaction routes in the hopes of securing a refund.

Meanwhile, I am grappling with the burden of regular expenses such as my electricity bill, car loan, and mortgage. The situation has worsened since I am now servicing a new, high-interest loan that I didn’t have before, and my wife’s part-time job pays less than the average income. As a result, even providing our three children with proper meals has become a daily challenge.

The weight of regret and shame I carry is profound. I should have known better, and the most distressing part is not being able to adequately provide for our children, given the predicament I have placed us in.
