Hope for a Home – Cancer is taking my sister… Help us keep her kids with family

In October 2023, my 33 year old sister was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. Originally she had a mass in her right lung, left 3rd rib and lymph node. After radiation Monday -friday and chemo for 4 months, she continued to developed more masses during treatment. She is now undergoing immunotherapy in hopes to prolong the inevitable however complications have caused set backs in her immunotherapy infusions. She is currently on oxygen and the machine she needs to run in order to avoid using all of her portable tanks trips the main breaker to her home.

She is a single mother of 4. My nieces are 11, 13, & 15. My nephew is 6 and mostly non verbal on the spectrum. I am a mother of 4 (my oldest two daughters do not live with me as they are 18 & 20 and moved out to start lives of their own). My youngest 2 children are 8 & 14. My significant other has 3 daughters that he shares custody of. My sister and I each currently live in mobile homes (conveniently next to each other) that are not in great shape but it’s all we can afford. We have no other family support so I have no back ups/no cosigner to lean on for help.

As she declines I am finding it very difficult to juggle two separate houses. I will also be taking guardianship of my sisters children when the time comes as their fathers are not in their lives at all. In total I will have 6 children full time and the extra 3 part time (yes… 9 kids… because why not right?!). I want to be there to care for her and her children as well as care for mine while I’m working as many hours as I can pick up caring for those with mental and physical disabilities.

Needless to say, it has been an extremely difficult year. My pay isn’t nearly enough to rent and after maxing credit cards to cover transportation and her finances while she was waiting for disability, as well as finance a disaster of a vehicle from a buy here pay here rip off business, my credit isn’t great.

I’ve exhausted all options of how I am going to be qualified to buy a home big enough let alone continue to afford what all it entails/monthly expenses/mortgage. I am not sure what anyone may be able to help with or how, but at this point I am desperate to make this happen. I can’t raise 6 (sometimes 9) kids in a fixer upper 2 1/2 bedroom 1 bath mobile home let alone have space for my terminally I’ll sister and I refuse to let my nieces and nephew end up in foster care. I’m just a mom/sister/aunt who is trying to do the right thing with no means to do so.

I would volunteer every free second I have to help others in any way I possibly can! My dream is to run a non profit advocacy center someday. If anyone can help, I would do anything to give back!

Financial Hardship

This month has brought about so much chaos for my family. My husband lost his job and I had to come home after working as an OTR truck driver of the last 8 years. I had no option as I needed to find the means to keep a roof over our heads. But the bills are piling up to fast and I’ve been unable to find a job as of the time of posting this. This is a last ditch effort to not get evicted in 8 days, keep our vehicle, and survive till I can find a sustainable job. I’m an extremely hard worker and I’ve been studying day trading forex for the last year while I was working 80 hr weeks on the road. It just won’t work fast enough to pay our bills in the immediate.

I never thought I would have to do something like this, have always believed in working for what I have but life really turned against me this time. I would have been able to continue in my job but I had to come home to update my license as it was about to expire and due to Hurricane Milton, I was delayed too long in being able to do so.

I’m in need of about $15,000 to pay rent, electric, internet, food, and to keep our truck from being repossessed. I need a vehicle to get around for all jobs I am looking to do.

An Injured man and his little girl need help please.

I am asking for help because no matter what I do, I can’t seem to find another way to deal with what’s happening right now in mine and my young daughters life, and I’m realizing that I am finding myself in a situation I thought I’d never encounter. In the past few months, I’ve lost both my job and my wife. Now my daughter is in jeopardy because I cant afford to transport her back and forth to school and to her after school activity programs. The pain has been overwhelming, and I’ve been struggling to keep my head above water.

My wife and I were involved in a car accident resulting from a man with Alzheimer’s disease driving down the wrong side of the road. Speeding in an SUV truck he drove straight into us while we were sitting at the stop light.

My wife, she was killed on impact. I suffered head trauma and multiple concussions along with back injuries with pain that still will not go away , and I’ve been out of work ever since. Last Hope For Help

First thing I would like to say is thank you for your time for reading this. I need money to get my utilities turned on. I have a strange situation going on and I really need help, I don’t know where else to turn. I’ve already done every possible thing I can think of, I’ve tried government help, grants, churches. So here is what’s going on :  My husband and I have lived with his mother for 12 years and took care of her until her recent passing, he had to quit working 1 year ago to help me with her because it go so bad. Her granddaughter that none of us have seen or spoken to for 15 years is over her estate. She wouldn’t turn off the utilities so that I could put them in my name and she run the bills up real high and let them get terminated. Now I have No Electricity, No Gas, No Water, No Sewer and they won’t give me new service until these old bills are paid in full and I have no place else to live but here. It’s getting really cold at night and I’m so scared of freezing to death. I’m 61 years old and all this has been extremely hard on me. Fired after concussion: PLEASE HELP me avoid losing my home and pets

My name is Caroline, and I am reaching out for help during an incredibly challenging time. In 2023, I was laid off from my previous job, which was a difficult setback. However, I worked hard to find new employment and finally secured a job that I was excited about. Unfortunately, not long after starting my new position, I suffered a concussion. This injury not only impacted my health but also cost me that new job, leaving me in a precarious financial situation.

When I suffered the concussion, I immediately noticed its effect on my ability to perform daily tasks, let alone work. The symptoms were severe—constant headaches, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating. I tried to push through and continue working, but my performance was affected, and my employer ultimately decided to let me go. Losing my job in the middle of recovering from a concussion has been devastating.

What makes my situation even more difficult is that because I was laid off in 2023 and briefly found a new job before being fired due to my injury, I am no longer eligible for unemployment benefits. I had relied on those benefits during the months I was searching for work, but now that I no longer qualify, I have no steady income to support myself. After borrowing money from family and friends while unemployed, I am struggling to pay my mortgage and essential bills like utilities and groceries, and caring for my 2 year old dog and cat.

Despite my health challenges, I have been actively searching for new employment, but my recovery has slowed down the process. It’s been incredibly difficult to balance job searching while dealing with the lingering effects of the concussion. I’m doing everything in my power to get back on my feet, but I need assistance to make it through this rough patch.

HELP US HELP OUR FURRY FAMILY

Hi, thank you for stopping to read about our family and our special circumstance. We live in a small town in Oregon, USA. We currently have two teenaged boys living at home full time and another one with us part time. We have a little house out in country that we are renting hoping to one day buy, but that’s another story. Today I am reaching out for a different reason. About two years ago, two and half, maybe, my son came home with a little black kitten. We didn’t need a cat, we already had two dogs, but one was elderly so we agreed to keep her. She was so cute, her name ended up being Kitten…we took too long choosing a name and so Kitten it was. A couple of months go by and our elderly boy passed away, I lost my best friend and the whole family was hurting. Out of nowhere a friend of mine showed up with two little kittens, the cutest things ever. She couldn’t keep them and she couldn’t leave them where she had taken them from. She rescued these two precious babies from a not so great house in the area. I couldn’t say no, our family grew by two. Riley and Beefy are their names. We were in love with our new babies and Kitten fell right into the role of big sister. Riley was probably the cutest kitten we had ever seen and her sister, Beefy was fluffy and so sweet, also very cute. About two weeks later my son, Kaiden yelled for me, he sounded scared. I came running, of course, I found him holding up Beefy to me, he was crying, he said, “Something’s wrong with this kitten.” Beefy had just had her first seizure. First one of many, many more. It broke my heart. She became our special girl. Moving on, our girls got pregnant, one by one. We thought it couldn’t hurt to let them have a litter, we can find them homes and kittens are great fun. The babies came, we found great homes for a few of them, some of them stayed with us. We didn’t realize what we were doing to ourselves. The spay and neuter clinic in our town first stopped accepting the vouchers from our local Friends of Animals group in our area to not accepting new appointments all together. We have a regular vet that we use but the cost can grow very quickly. Recently our cats started getting sick, like a cold, snotty nose, eye infections and fluid in their lungs. Before we knew it, everyone was sick, including our tiniest family members. We lost so many babies. It all happened so fast, we tried to save them. I finally tracked down some antibiotics and started trying to save the last few remaining babies. So far, so good except for the smallest one sitting in my lap right now. We do not have a lot of money, saying we live check to check doesn’t even cut it because we usually don’t make it from one to the next. We both work more than 40 hours a week at our jobs and the work around the house is endless. We have come to the point now we are spending more money on our furry family members than anything else and because of this the people are going hungry and going without. Today I’m reaching out in the hopes that we can get help to fix our cats, there are a lot of them, and get them vaccinated so no one else gets sick. It’s easier to rehome kittens if they are fixed and vaccinated. We also need help to buy supplies, food and litter and cat friendly furniture….it’s all very expensive. The cats eat better than we do. We have transformed parts of our house into cat places because we don’t like them being outside all the time, we live in the woods, it’s dangerous. Unfortunately we have had to keep the boys outside at nighttime because of mother nature, we are trying to not have more kittens. I suspect there are a couple girls pregnant right now but it’s too soon to tell. Our situation is urgent, the need for help is growing by the day. Our community is overwhelmed with cats right now and we refuse to surrender to the shelter, we really do love these kitties. They are special to us but they are draining everything out of all us.  Even if you don’t feel moved to donate, thank you for taking the time to read about our furry family. I am also looking into, possibly registering as a rescue for cats, we have been naturally moving in that direction and I have developed quite a strong passion for these furry little people (yes, I consider them people) and would love to be set up to help other kitties in need. Family needs urgent help !!!

Financially Drowning – Trying to Stay Afloat

I feel so wrong for being here. There are so many people out there that need help right now, especially those who were impacted by the recent hurricanes.

Life has been getting really rough lately. I have always taken pleasure in being able to help others financially, but now I find myself in a position where I need help. I am struggling just to make ends meet and am getting into more debt because I have had to rely on credit cards to get me by, but now the debt is starting to weigh me down.

Everything is going up. My rent is increasing $150 starting November 1, 2024, and I have to pay $150 to go towards the increased security deposit. My car insurance has gone up (not from my own doing) so much that I have considered canceling it, but can’t because I still owe about $5,000 on my car. I started doing alternate day fasting to help cut the cost of money going towards groceries. It’s been great for weight loss.

I just feel like I am drowning. Mentally, I am struggling. It’s just getting harder to exist. I’m sorry. Maybe I just needed to vent and get this out.

I am looking for other part time jobs and side projects that I can do to bring in some supplemental income. I signed up for multiple delivery services and have been placed on a waiting lists. I have a full time job, so I just need to find something. I have been looking at remote jobs so I won’t have to leave my dog alone all day. Don’t worry, my dog has food.

I am trying to help my daughter, who started her freshman year of college this summer, by paying some of her bills. She doesn’t ask her dad because he has been out of the picture for many years. She is looking for a job on campus right now so she can start earning money.

Life has to get better. I am trying to keep my head up and remain positive, but it’s not easy. I feel like I have to force myself to act like everything is okay. Plus, the holidays are coming up. It doesn’t feel like it will be much of a festival holiday season.

Hello Begging Money

My name is Sharon Clarke, and I am a fashion designer. I started a small fashion business, funding it on my own. I then secured a job altering clothes for a fashion company’s e-commerce shoot in New York City and decided to rent a studio nearby for my business. However, after just one month, they informed me that they no longer needed my services, leaving me in a difficult financial situation. Now, I’m struggling to cover the costs of both my apartment and studio without steady income.

Rental Assistance

I usually donate money and my time to those needing help, but I find myself needing help at this time, asking for help sometimes is not an easy thing, but here I go. I have been working my job for 26 years now and at times I have worked two jobs at a time, but that was when I was younger and didn’t have issues with my body. As of now I’m only working my one job and I find myself needing a knee replacement my copay is around $3000, I have been trying to save but it’s hard because I have been put in a different area at work because I can’t keep up the pace working in production its expected that I maintain a certain amount of output daily but I can’t move my knee like that anymore, the first doctor I went to for help only wanted to keep doing a bandaid solution by doing cortisone shots, which at the time I thought would help me I didn’t know that it was the worse thing I could do and as time went on and I told him that it’s no longer working and asked questions of how I can resolve the issue and get my knee better he said he wasn’t answering my questions and left the office I had to get his supervisor involved, It was shocking to me that he wouldn’t help, but his office was paid for every visit that I was scheduled for, I wasted two years thinking he would help. I was then referred to a new doctor who is awesome and told me more about my knee in five minutes than the other one who didn’t care. I have had gel injections by the new doctor and physical therapy to try before he just replaces my knee to say I’m scared is the least!, but the pain I deal with daily is becoming to painful and winter is coming so I’ll be in even more pain.
