Seeking financial assistance for my daughter’s medical care

My name is Alona Woodard. I’m a disabled, single-mother, and non-traditional student. I’ve lived in Port Townsend, Washington for over 6 years with my 16 year old daughter, Ava. I have a unique situation and I’m making a wish for your assistance. My daughter is in need of an optometry appointment to obtain a prescription for some glasses ASAP and I simply cannot afford to pay for the appointment. She expressed to me several months ago that she’s having trouble seeing clearly and that it’s affecting her ability to complete her assignments, read music for choir, or participate in her extracurricular activities. My daughter does have Medicaid with limited vision coverage, but there are NO optometrists that accept her insurance within a 100 mile circumference of my location. As a result, I have to take her to a local out-of-network optometrist and pay upfront and and out-of-pocket. My only income is Social Security Disability Insurance and there’s no additional funds available for this type of expense after all necessary bills are paid. The amount I’m requesting is $500, which will cover all the appointment, the prescription lenses, and the frames. I humbly ask for your assistance to help pay for my daughter to get the medical care that she desperately needs. Thank you for your time and consideration. God Bless!

Medical Bills HELP ME PLEASE

Today, I am reaching out to share the poignant story of my 22-year-old son, Blake who, in the pursuit of a promising career, encountered unexpected health challenges that have left him grappling with overwhelming medical bills. As a parent, witnessing my son face these difficulties is heart-wrenching, and I am humbly seeking your support to help him through this challenging time.

Blake recently embarked on the journey of obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This endeavor was not only a step towards financial independence but also a source of excitement and optimism for his future. However, this journey took an unforeseen turn when he started experiencing severe chest pains, leading to medical examinations and treatments that quickly escalated into a mountain of medical bills.

The financial strain has become unbearable for Blake jeopardizing not only his dream of a career but also his only means of transportation. The weight of impending bills, coupled with the threat of losing his vehicle, is pushing him to the brink, and as a parent, I am reaching out for support.

Your generous contribution can be the lifeline that Blake needs to regain stability and continue working towards a better future. Here’s how your donation can make a significant impact:

1. **Medical Expenses:** Assist in covering the accumulating medical bills, including consultations, diagnostic tests, and treatments for Blake.

2. **Vehicle Preservation:** Help prevent the loss of Blake’s only means of transportation by contributing to essential repairs and maintenance.

3. **Educational Support:** Contribute towards the completion of his CDL program, ensuring that can resume his journey towards a promising career.

Your kindness and generosity can make a profound difference in Blake’s life, offering him the support needed to overcome these unexpected challenges. No contribution is too small, and your assistance will not only ease the immediate financial burden but also provide a sense of hope and encouragement for Blake to persevere.

Thank you for considering this urgent request and for being a source of strength for Blake during this challenging time. Together, we can help him overcome these obstacles and continue working towards a brighter future.

Puppy with Parvovirus – Vet Bill

I had a puppy that was beautifully wonderful that unfortunately came down with the Parvovirus. I took her to the vet and she received the diagnosis, the cost of this was $330.32 and I was given a choice to put her in urgent care or to watch her die. The vet said it was a 50/50 chance of survival.

I transported my 12-week-old puppy to the urgent care facility and started treatment. The cost of treatment was $1,500 per every 12 hours of critical care. After 36 hours of care, my puppy crashed with no white blood cells remaining and I am completely devastated. I had to travel in the winter storm to ensure she didn’t pass away with anybody there who truly loved her.

I’m not looking to recover all of the cost but if I could raise at least $2,000 I can then begin to find a new puppy to love and care for. She had her first two vaccinations and we’re not sure how she contracted the virus. My son has special needs attached to her and that is the largest heartbreak for us. I want to get him another puppy with the same size and look as the previous puppy.

For anyone who contributes I am eternally grateful to you.

Please help me help my lupus

Hello, my name is Lily, I’m 20 years old and I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) when I was 15. The past 3 years have been the most challenging. With intense pain and muscle weakness being by my side everyday, paired with vestibular migraines it has become very tough to live with. I don’t go out unless it’s for my job, and I am studying but can barely make it to campus. My life has become a hollow shell of what it used to be and I try to do the best I can but it’s becoming to much to bare. I’ve done tons of research of treatments all around the world, and I have found a stem cell treatment in Switzerland that seems promising. I’ve spoken with them and they believe they can help reduce my symptoms so I can actually live. As you might be able to tell I’m extremely desperate as I’m trying to find anyway to get myself there, as it’s going to be upwards of $5000 just to get there and cover my initial appointment. I know this is a long shot but thank you so much for anything anyone can give.

Desperately Seeking Help to Have a Tumor Removed

Hey there, I’m Nikki. I wear the hat of a mother to three amazing boys and the faithful companion of Bruiser, my protective Pitt Terrier. Seven years ago, a small lump appeared on my upper left arm, inconspicuous as a pea. Ignoring it seemed reasonable at the time, yet over these years, it has swelled to the size of a softball, a constant reminder of the unseen battles I face.

My work is more of a freelance patchwork, lacking the security of a steady job or the comfort of health insurance. When I sought help from my doctor, hoping for a solution, she regretfully admitted her inability to remove it due to its sheer size. The prospect of a surgeon’s intervention emerged as the only viable option, but the exorbitant costs turned it into a distant dream. So, I resigned to endure the discomfort, unaware of the ticking time bomb it became.

Now, this tumor, seemingly innocuous, exerts immense pressure on my nerves, rendering my arm and hand numb with alarming frequency. Its growth accompanies dark bruises, marking the territory where this unwelcome guest thrives. The medical verdict adds to the distress – its proximity to my heart amplifies the risks, casting a shadow of uncertainty over my future.

A procedure to remove it demands a financial sacrifice far beyond my means, roughly estimated at $1200-$1600. The urgency is palpable; it’s not just about the physical discomfort but also about securing a future where I can be present and healthy for my boys and Bruiser.

Reaching out for support is a humbling experience, a plea not just for monetary assistance but for a chance at reclaiming a life unhindered by this looming health concern. Every contribution, big or small, is a glimmer of hope, a step closer to a resolution. Your consideration and potential support mean the world to me. Thank you for being part of this journey, and for believing that together, we can make a difference.

Psalm 34:17-18: “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Autoimmune Therapy

Hello,

My name is Marie. I am 41 years old.

I have three auto immune syndromes that cause a need for multiple therapies daily to stay mobile.

I have chronic myofasical pain syndrome which causes my body to stay in a constant state of muscle spasm and rigidity. Imagine flexing your biceps and how hard those get, that is my body 24/7/365.

As a result, I need to go to chiropractic therapy daily as my muscles pull my joints out of place. I also go to physio weekly to help fix injuries as a result of the rigidity. Also essential is massage therapy. I go once a week for that but need it more often. These are all recommended by my specialist but nothing is covered by provincial help as it is considered “alternative” even though it is essential to me and others

I pay for all of my therapies out of my own pocket because my insurance only covers about a two week period every year given the amount I spend in a week.

The second syndrome I have is Fibromyalgia which causes widespread nerve pain in my body making light touch unbearable. I have a very restrictive diet which helps keep it at a a manageable level. But as with anything, finding food that will not cause flareups is expensive.

The third is diabetes. I have to pay out of pocket for my monitor supplies because I am on metformin rather than insulin so far. That is about 250 a month if i were to actually be able to pay for it.

If I stopped going to therapy or cut back my muscles will tear and make it almost impossible to walk. The Pandemic confirmed this as I was without therapy of any kind of 3 months. I still have repercussions from this.

I didn’t buy anything for people for Christmas this year, I made everything. I am still short for my bill that is due on the 8th.

I work part time because I am not physically able to do full time, also by the time i am finished my four hour shift, i go to chiro to fix me and have to spend hours recovering from my shift.

medical expenses a week not including meter supplies or other life expenses such as gas and insurances is 495/week. I don’t make that much

I live at home with my parents. My father is disabled and my mother is his caregiver. She helps me with some of my physical restrictions such as putting my socks on and some cleaning that is too difficult for me to perform due to not being able to bend.

She also buys groceries for me even though i don’t ask her to because she knows that i wouldn’t be able to buy them for myself or I would end up eating things i can’t because of cost. They only have one pension between the two of them as she didn’t get one

My local food bank used to offer grocery gift cards to pay for perishables but have cut that program out months ago.

asking for help is very difficult, but i am so overwhelmed trying to stay functional and not end up in a wheel chair. The financial stress is hard on my pain levels as well

Thank you so much for your consideration. Sending positive energy to you.

Electric Wheelchair

I am an active senior with reliable housing living in an isolated village with poor transportation. My car is an old beater but it runs ok if I don’t drive it much. If I move to a larger center I will loose my subsidized housing.

I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis in my entire back making me very crippled up. I can walk only a few feet at a time but pull myself along with my feet in an old wheelchair as I can’t use my arms well enough to use the wheel bars. I am in constant pain and spend most of my days laying in bed to try controlling the pain. I ‘earned’ this condition from working too long and too hard in my youth. Wish I had a time machine.

All I really want is a lightweight electric wheelchair so I can drive into town to do my shopping and attend social events using the electric chair to drive around in the stores or venues.Ā  Right now I am terribly isolated and in danger of becoming depressed or worse. I am a generally happy person and love to volunteer etc. but now I just lay in bed rotting away. I am unable to attend physio therapy due to the distance from the parking lot to the clinic without the help of a chair. The chair I want needs to be light enough to lift into a small car. If I fold it up or take it apart I should be able to handle that. The ones I want are on Amazon and cost around $2500 Canadian.

Any small contribution would be gratefully accepted. Thank You for reading this.

Request to collect donations for a complex heart surgery

My name is Hamza Gharbi. I am 33 years old and suffer from heart diseaseĀ

I will explain my illness to you in detail

A significant aortic leak on the bicuspid valve,

An aneurysmal dilation of the ascending aorta,

Ischemic coarctation of the aorta with hypoplasia of the arch.

My process is done in two parts because of its complexity

It’s a challenging and intricate journey, where a small heart hides the secret of my life. I’ve fallen into the clutches of illness, facing a significant challenge – a complex surgery on my tiny heart. Today, I’m here to share my story and to appeal to the spirits of kindness to offer the generous assistance that can light the path to recovery.

The heart, the vital center that pumps life into our veins, has faced numerous challenges in my life. I’ve felt the strength of pain and the weakness of the body, but in my small heart, the pulse of hope and determination persists. Doctors have confirmed that the only solution to restoring a normal life for me is undergoing that intricate surgical procedure.

But here I stand, hand in hand with my aspirations and dreams, seeking the helping hand that might be the reason for their realization. This is not just a plea for medical assistance; it’s a cry for human support and inspiration. My little heart relies on your mercy and compassion to beat anew.

The assistance you provide won’t just be a contribution to covering the costs of the operation; it will play a fundamental role in building a bridge of hope between despair and healing. In this time where social distance is growing, you come as a word of love and solidarity.

I believe in the power of humanity and the generous hearts that are open to giving. Let us all be part of this story, a story that carries within it the joy of recovery and moments of happiness that will return to me because of you.

Let’s unite hand in hand and heart to heart to paint together a new picture of my life and my hope for a better tomorrow. Let us be together on this journey, because you never know the strength of the joy that can be born when a person realizes themselves through faith and giving.

Thank you to everyone who will stand by me in this challenging moment, thanks to the benevolent souls who possess big hearts and the desire to make the world a better place. Your contribution may be the hope my heart needs to pulse strongly once again.

The operation will take place in GermanyĀ

The price of the operation was $78,000Ā Ā

The Hard Financial Path to a Liver Transplant

It all started over 2 1/2-3 years ago when my wife (April) was diagnosed with the onset of stage 3 liver failure. It came as a pretty big blow since she had already been diagnosed with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and now this. At first it wasn’t a daily critical challenge. Then as time went on it got increasingly worse. Her gastroenterologist seemed very reluctant to treat like a patient and more like cattle running through the counter to just get the appointments over with. His lack of focus and inability to seemingly care was apparent. In March of 2022 her declining health hit a tipping point. With her strength weakening, she laid down beside me and said she was gonna take a nap. Little did either of us know, that day would forever change how we approached her failing liver. She was laying by me on the couch and sleeping. Ā At least I thought she was. She actually slipped into a coma. I heard weird sounds and looked over and she was an asphyxiating by her vomit while she was laying on her back. I was blessed to be right there to sit her up and clear her airway. Our 7 year old was freaking out and I redirected her focus to help and it helped.
We called for an ambulance and we followed. It was at that moment I made a decision to switch her doctors and it saved her life. Hemphatic encephalopathy. Her new doctors went above and beyond. She was unfortunately in a coma for 5 days and after she was stabilized, it was hard enough on her body that she had to relearn how to walk, talk, and do everyday tasks. She had 12 weeks of therapy to get her functions as close to normal as they could. This was the beginning of a very hard physical road for us.
Some of the unfortunate effects of a liver problems come and go and one is more permanent. She now will have Kidney damage. One side effect from this swelling and retaining lots of water. High fluctuations in her ammonia levels (which damages her brain every time they get too high and causes loss of mobility, speech, and motor skills), potassium, magnesium, iron fluctuations along with dehydration. Her doctors do what they can to get her back to functioning as normal as possible. Lately we ran into a problem at the end of October 2023 where the insurance dropped her and continued to cover myself and out 7 year old. Since then she has been in the hospital more than at home. Somewhere along the lines of 85/15 with 85 percent being how often she’s been in the hospital to the (roughly) 15 percent being home. We have been working with the liver specialist team getting her ready for the transplant testing to begin. We have 4 kids total, 3 are grown and our 7 year old. The 3 grown kids are ready to test and donate their Kidney for their mom. We have worked really hard to get to this point, and then the insurance happened. She was in the hospital for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and the doctors want her to go back to a nursing home after she gets released. Here’s where the financial craziness comes in. Her medicine per month averages 4200.00 to keep her alive. The outstanding bill for the hospital is over 125,000.00. The cost for her needing to go to the hospital is about 6000.00, and very well could go up depending on the care she has to receive. (More attention since she can’t walk, therapy, special dietary needs).
There is at least a somewhat silver lining that the insurance might reinstate by the end of January 2024. But until then, I’ve sold everything that I could including selling my 2020 Ford Ranger to help with the bills. But they continue to pile up and increase. So the request for a miracle would be help with the $$145,000.00 that this has crippled us financially. She is only 54 and deserves a long life and the help to get there. I’m with her 24/7 for her every needs and being able to make up the difference isn’t possible while taking care of her. We would greatly appreciate any help that you can give. Thank you for taking the time read our life story. Ā If you’re willing to help:

Life changing accident

Broken šŸ’”

My son recently had a serious motorbike accident suffering a severed spinal cord and shattered discs at the base of his back. The surgeons at intensive care unit of Royal Perth Hospital spent 11hours performing surgery, inserting rods and supports but sadly he is permanently paralysed and learning to adjust now to life in a wheelchair. My plea is for assistance with a couple of different battles we ate now facing. My house is far from wheelchair accessible so visiting with me is not an option for him. I would like to purchase a hoist of some sort as there are 14stairs to climb to my front door. I would also like to remove the bath tub and replace with a wheelchair accessible shower for him. There are so many things we all take for granted in our day to day lives I am learning everyday of these and the struggles my son now faces. He is a qualifiedĀ  carpenter by trade but unable to carry out these renovations due to obvious reasons. I know he would jump at the opportunity to assist somebody in need if he was able so I thankyou in advance for your kindness and generosity. We face a long hard road ahead and I cry everyday for the unfair card i feel he has been dealt but I am also so grateful to be blessed with my beautiful family and thank God I still have my son. ā™”

The next thing is my study. After his accident I looked into different spinal treatments and healing options as I wanted to “fix” him and found Dr Carli Axford and her treatment she has designed called SPINAL FLOW. I am a qualified massage therapist and love to help and heal people. I was awarded a part scholarship for studies to become a spinal flow practitioner and began online studies at a cost of $1200 per month. Unfortunately I was only able to keep up payments and study for 4months. My overall health and well being deteriorated rapidly due to the stress and pressures of the whole situation and the reality of my sons condition sunk me into deep depression resulting in me deferring studies for 6mnths and forfeiting my scholarship. I would love nothing more than to continue studies with Spinal Flow Academy but the cost of the qualification is a total of $16000. Sadly I don’t see myself being in the position to cover these costs anytime in the next 10years!! For now I am focusing on day by day adjustments to our life now as it will never be the same. I have learned that nothing in life is guaranteed. Seize the moment and cherish loved ones and treasure every moment you share with them.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this. I wish you a beautiful day. Namaste šŸ•‰

For My Aunt, A Very Special Woman In My Life

Hello everyone,

Ā

Honestly, I don’t know where to start. I never thought I’d find myself needing to do something like this. I’ve always been someone who works hard to earn their own way, but life sometimes puts you in situations you can’t handle alone.

Ā

I’m here to ask for help with two things if possible:

Ā

The first and most important is to cover the expenses of a hip surgery my aunt had. She’s a 74 year old woman who’s been crucial in my life. She was the oldest in the family, my dad was her brother, unfortunately my grandparents died when she was very young and she had to take care of my dad, she never married or had children. When my dad married my mom, I was the only child they had, since I was born she always loved me and took care of me as if I were her own child, but not only that, she has also been like a sister and a friend, covering some of those stupid things you do when you are young, since I realized what she was doing for me she has always had and always will have a very special place in my heart, basically my family has only been my mom, my dad and my aunt. My mom passed away in August 2014 from cancer, and my dad in May 2020 during the pandemic. Since my dad’s passing, it’s just been my aunt and me.

Ā

A couple of months ago, she fell and broke the upper part of her femur. Unfortunately, the only solution is a hip replacement surgery. It’s unfortunate because the cost of a good-quality prosthetic and the surgery is high, and there’s a good chance she won’t fully regain her mobility. Even before the accident, she needed some help with daily tasks, and now, especially with my work, I need someone to assist her while I’m away. Currently, a neighbor is helping me out.

Ā

I had to borrow money from friends to cover the surgery and medications because the banks turned me down. So far, I’ve been able to pay part of it with the money my dad left, and I had to sell some things like my car and my mom’s jewelry. Still, I owe around $6,000.

Ā

The second reason is to seek help in buying a car. I’m working as a driver, I started with ride-sharing apps and gradually gained some private clients to take them wherever they need when I’m available. I also do deliveries for packages and food. As I mentioned, I had to sell my car to repay part of the borrowed money. Currently, I’m using a borrowed car, but it doesn’t feel right using someone else’s car because as you can imagine they wear out a lot. A friend at a dealership has arranged a deal for me to buy a 2021 Toyota Corolla hybrid, but the initial payment is at least $5,000 to keep the monthly payments reasonable, that will help me to save more for my aunt’s medicines, rehabilitation therapies, and give some extra money to the neighbor who’s helping care for her, although she has not asked me for anything, I want to have that gesture with her because she has offered to take care of my aunt and accompany her without asking for anything in return, and I know that the extra money would help her. I know I won’t make a lot of money as a driver, but I chose this job because it gives me flexibility to be there for my aunt when she needs me, and surprisingly, I enjoy it.

Ā

I know it’s a lot of money I’m asking for, and honestly, I don’t think I can raise it all through this. As I said before, the most important thing for me is to pay back the $6,000 my friends lent me, I don’t feel comfortable owing them that money especially these days they need it too, they’re not in the best financial situation, but they helped me because they know how much I care for my aunt and what she’s done for me since I was born, she was there for me when my mom and father died. She’s the only family I have left. I don’t know how much longer she’ll be with me, but for whatever time it is, I’ll do my best to be with her and take care of her the best I can as she has done it for me. The money for the car would be a bonus; if it doesn’t happen, that’s okay. I’ll figure out how to manage without it. As I said, I’ve always worked hard to get what I need.

Ā

Lastly, I don’t know if it’s necessary to say, but for me, doing this is like asking for another loan. I assure you I won’t just repay the gathered money. This will be a debt I’ll repay for the rest of my life. I’ll help others in need, just like I need help right now. I don’t need to swear on anything or anyone; I know I’ll do it because I’ve always kept my word. My parents and my aunt taught me to be grateful and to keep my promises. That’s who I am and who I’ll always be.

Ā

To all those who can help with a donation thank you very much, it means a lot to my aunt and especially to me and to everyone who’s read this whole text (sorry for making it so long), if you could spare a prayer or a positive thought for my aunt, for all the people who’ve helped me, for those who will help, and for me, I’ll be eternally grateful.

Help me pay for my sister’s treatment after she suffered a stroke

Help me pay for my sister’s treatment after she suffered a stroke

Hi! my name is Alejandro, and I am seeking help to cover my sister Natalia’s medical treatment expenses. At 38 years old, she suffered an ischemic stroke, leaving us with a medical bill of $12,000. She is about to be discharged, but her ability to move her right arm and leg has been affected, along with losing her ability to speak. We are struggling to meet these unforeseen medical costs. Natalia was a devoted teacher passionate about literature, pursuing her teaching degree in language and literature while teaching classes. Three months ago, her life took a drastic turn. We are facing this new challenge while trying to adapt to the circumstances, but the financial aspect has become a major concern. We urgently need to start her rehabilitation at a specialized center in the city and ensure the continuous supply of vital medication she requires. We wonder if someone could offer us any kind of help in this challenging situation.”
