Blindsided & Left to Pick up the Pieces

This is so hard for me to do. I’m not ever the one asking others for help. I’ve always been fiercely independent, and I just want to say that even if no one helps me, at least I have put what’s been happening to me into words; some sort of therapy maybe. I swear I’ve never felt so defeated in my life.

Let me start at the beginning…

My husband and I met in April of 2018, both divorced once before and both really not looking for one another. A beautiful friendship grew into an amazing love story, and we were married 6 months later. He was my forever, for I had found the one whom my soul loves… or so I BELIEVED. We quickly settled into married life, we never fought, we always kissed goodbye and goodnight. Things were so good, until they weren’t.

April 21st is a day I will never forget. It’s burned into my memory forever. That’s the day my husband told me he was seeing someone else and that he had been unhappy for a long time and he was leaving.  Just like that!! There would be no “trying”, he was not “in love” with me anymore.  I knew things were not like in the beginning, but I had been (I thought we had been) working on things. He had even made the comment a week before about how things were better… I don’t understand!!

She was supposed to be my best friend. The one I could confide in, the one I never had to worry about being around my husband. She’s the one he left me for, not once but twice. Yes you read that right…TWICE. Some of you reading this are saying “How stupid can you be”, but let me say this. I loved my husband with every fiber of my being, and he came back and said he regretted it, he loved me, wanted our marriage to work, wanted to go to councelling and I needed to be sure. Well I’m sure now…sure that I will never let him back into my life.

The two of them drained my checking account, then he brought her to the house while I was away helping my dad with my mom who has dementia, and let her take whatever she wanted out of our house. She took several personal items of mine that can not be replaced. Not only that, she went so far as to take my clothes out of the dryer (some new to me things for work) This woman left her panties in my bathroom floor so I would find them when I got home and know she had been in my home!

Today I was told that I will have to have an attorney to finish my divorce. I make too much for legal aid, but am otherwise struggling. I need to move closer to my parents, and get out of that house. It’s killing me slowly being there, and I know I can’t do this on my own. I need $1200 before the attorney with even pull the papers from the courthouse and redraft them. Then I can be divorced in less than a week she said. Between 1st month/last month, security/pet deposit I’m looking at $3,000-$4,000 right off the rip (I’ll sleep on the floor starting out if I have to)

Please someone help me get away from this nightmare I’m in!!

Sincerely,

~J

A HUMBLE PLEA FOR FINANCIAL HELP!

First, I want to say that I am so grateful that I have come across a platform such as this that has empathetic and compassionate hearts willing to help those in need. That there are donors willing to hear the pleas of so many seeking financial support including myself and for this I am very thankful.

In my plea for financial assistance, I have found myself as a young man struggling to keep my head above water with the increases of rent, food, taxes, inflation and high interest on goods and services. I have been since the pandemic attempting to stay afloat. I was let go from my job due to downsizing and budget cuts that the pandemic brought about. I was working as an administrative consultant. After months of being out of work, slowly depleting my savings reserve; I was filing out at least 3 dozen applications a week to finally landing a job through a staffing agency. Though the pay was a significant decline in what I was previously earning, I was happy I finally landed something to try to cover my living expenses. Being that I have always lived modestly and below my means, it was enough to afford a midsize sedan and a small apartment at the time. Now I am on the verge of losing both.

Now with the significant loss in income, I have become dependent on my credit cards, have taken out multiple personal loans, borrowed money from the few friends and family I have who had anything to spare; I accumulated so much debt covering general expenses that it has caused me constant anxiety and stress. The debt of everything is totaling to an astounding six figures. Just thinking of paying off all of that back on top of increasing interest rates makes it nearly impossible to put a dent in all the total balances. I’ve sold many of my belongings, mow lawns, dog walk, housesit, complete online surveys, delivered food, anything that could bring in some extra money, but I am still falling short. I am in complete despair.

Since I was young, I have always been a helpful person. I volunteered time to whatever cause or situation a person needed to help them reach their intended goal. It is what brought me the most joy, knowing that I brought a sense of relief to their predicament. And now I find myself in an extreme situation attempting to cover the necessities just to survive and asking for help. I know so many people in this similar situation.

Lastly, I am very grateful for receiving any donations, no matter the size, as this would place me on the right track to alleviate these pressing financial burdens. With humility and thankfulness, I would now be able to rebuild my life with your generous contributions.

Covid fallout has brought me to near bankruptcy

Hello and thank you for reading.

I’m from the UK and I had a small business working overseas pre Covid.  This was destroyed from lockdowns and I was forced to come back to the UK and start from scratch with no place to live, no job and no furlough.  The only way I could survive was to take out a loan to cover living expenses etc.  If I hadn’t taken the risk then I would’ve been homeless.

Since then I’ve retrained as a truck driver – it’s long hours and physically demanding work but has enabled me to cover the loan payments and keep a roof over my head until now.  However, with the cost of living spiralling out of control I’m struggling to make ends meet now.

I don’t drink, smoke and I’m not reckless with money.  Like many, I had to take on debt to survive after having my income cut off by the ‘health experts’ and I’ve been digging myself out of this hole I never asked for ever since.

I’m well aware there are many causes here which will make my situation look trivial.  Maybe somebody who was in my position once but is doing well now will see this, relate to it and give me a little help.  I can’t tell you how much I’d appreciate it – when I’m back on my feet rest-assured I will pay it forward.

Here is my link below.

Thank you for your time and I wish you all the best.

Disabled Senior In Dire Economic Constraints

My name is Theresia Hunter-Nelson,  a 72 year old disabled female who has worked in the Senior Community for 25 years.

I have worked providing (live in/live out) private personal care, household management, advocacy, end of life transition and whatever else my client/patients/ families required.  My life has become enriched in so many aspects because of each individual experience!  There has been many “ups as well as downs”!  However, in hindsight, my employers did not provide a 401K fund nor did they contribute to Social Security in my behalf!

In my experiences, I have been loved, shown adoration,  sustained physical injuries,  encountered prejudice, disrespect,  underpaid, well paid and even devalued.  In retrospect, I’ve also gained valuable lessons which I’ll never forget.

In December of 2018 I relocated from Southern California to Stockton, California (my Sister had some chronic health conditions/age), to assist my Sister.

In May of 2022 my elder sister, 83, contracted Covid. She had pre-existing chronic conditions and had refused to get vaccinated.  She went into the hospital and stayed two weeks. On June 3rd, she was sent home on Hospice to live out her remaing days.  A decision was made for me to quit my position and take care of her, as I was the only qualified person in our household. This was one of the hardest things in life that I would ever experience! I had no clue, going forward , how life changing this would be and the “downward spiral syndrome ” that was to about affect the core of my stability!

My Sister , for whatever reason,  never purchased the house she lived in for 17 years. Once the property owners became aware of her condition things changed drastically without so much as a show of respect or decency!

On June 6, 2022, a for sale sign was placed in the yard and a envelope with a type written letter along with the Realtors business card was placed under the front door.  We (occupants) had 60 days to vacate the premises!

I certainly wasn’t aware of my own wellbeing .  I’ve  struggled with Sleep Deprivation/Hormonal issues and HBP-controlled since 2012.  Something  else was happening during this time, however.  There apparently were warning signals (physical) that I did’nt interpret at the time! I just knew I had the daily responsibility of her care.

In all actuality, taking care of her, excepting the reality, grieving, (not knowing when “Sis” would pass), planning a funeral, and finding another place to live……was insane!  ***The residue of this experience still affects me (yes I’m now in Therapy and under a Physicians care) and I’m still struggling with this!

Prior to her passing (8/8/22), we (family) went through her papers and found out she had let her burial/life Insurance lapse!  Unbelievable!

In the days that followed,  we were able to “suck it up”, roll up our sleeves, coordinate a viable plan, secure individual storage units and start packing up the house.  With inflation having gone crazy,  we (4 adults) were unsuccessful  financially,  in securing a single family residence together.   We had to separate and secure housing by whatever means necessary!  I secured an individual storage unit for everything I owned without the security of knowing where I would be living or how soon I would be employed again.

The Ceremonial services (9/2/2022), were held in our hometown of Fresno, California, where other family members reside.  I decided to stay awhile and give myself a chance to breathe and reevaluate my circumstances before making any future decisions.  In the month of September,  I ended up in the ER twice.  My BP was at Stroke level, and experiencing extreme periods of irritability, anxiety and distraction.  I gave myself “a pass and permission ” to feel whatever I felt and put off seeking professional help.

In October,  2022 a door opened for me in a income qualified Senior Housing Complex.  I had enough put aside to secure the rental.  I even obtained a Part Time Caregiver position until a bad fall which after Xrays determined complex Osteoarthritis in both knees/tailbone, ie, Mobility issues.  In November 2022, I was diagnosed with moderate to severe Anxiety and was referred to Behavioral Therapy.

I began to increase my Credit Card usage to meet my obligations of which includes a ‘storage unit’ (Stockton, California). I was able to file a claim (Unemployment) of which ended December of 2023 with no extension.

Today, this is where I am…..medically,  the Orthopedic surgeon suggests a knee replacement,  now Pre Diabetic,  2 BP medications (referral to a Cardiologist), 1 Anxiety medication (I don’t feel any difference), 1 Cholesterol medication (recent), operating on interrupted sleep patterns nitely (less than 5 hours total sleep.

Economically: Forced to let go of All credit cards , a pre-lien sale notice of everything in my storage $10,000 value), sole income of $1024 (Social Security)…..Monthly outgo:  Rent: $627.00, (current), Utility: PG&E: $89 to $109.00, (current), Cellphone: Comcast Xfinity: $45.00, (current) Cable/Internet (same company): $160.00 ( past due x 2), Auto Payment: Westlake Financial: $286.90(current), Auto Insurance: ConnectbyAmFam: $77.00 (current), Life Insurance: Ameriprise: $65.85, (2 months due…pre-lapse status), Storquest Storage Solutions: $ 232.00 (+$32.00 late fee) ×2…($517.00) due (pre-lein status)…..total monthly: ($1,583.75) , now have Cal Fresh benefits (food): $220.00, monthly. *** Excess monthly expenses/ overages: Fuel, Automobile maintenance,  household/food/incidentals have been charged to Credit Cards, currently “maxed out/over the limits”….gone!

This information is verifiable!  I’m also seeking Bankruptcy counseling…..I have nowhere else to go or nothing more to lose!

My Faith has been my foundation and GOD saw fit to equip me with the gifts of giving, caring for others, compassion for the elderly and disabled,  family first, Community,  and now “it’s my Season of need”.  I have always believed in Humanity,  yet I’ve lived/experienced the destruction of Culture (my own)and its support system (my own) generationally! The reality of my fragile existence and current circumstances overwhelms me each day!

I’M TRYING EVERY DAY

Hello, I came across this site while looking for side jobs online.
My name is Paul and I used to make a good living working in construction. I love what I do and it’s great to be asked to help others at their place of business or homes because of my skill set.
But now, I almost have nothing to work with. I’ve pawned/ sold most of my tools. Sold things like watches jewelry TV electronics, you name it.

I live in Las Vegas, but I’m in New Mexico for work. My current debt is 8400 dollars
That’s just
Rent: 1,400
Truck: 1,200 -Past repairs and needs tires (still in Las Vegas)
Pawned tool: 2,100 – to get out of pawn
Cell phone: 700
Storage fees: 3,000 -Trying to keep out of Auction week to week payment

I used to be able to help friends, my brother David, and my mom’s cell phone was in my name.
My ex-wife and I are good to each other we get along, and people even think we are still married.
Back in September of 23, I choose to help my ex-wife. I was trying not to dwell on the risk and how it put me in harm’s way. I did it thinking I could turn it around and make the money back but no. She even promises to pay some back because of an upcoming raise and bonus from her employer the Clark County school district. She is still waiting.

Out of nowhere I came down with shingles I guess from the stress and it was misdiagnosed for weeks.
Pride is out the window and long gone when it comes to earning money.
I’m juggling 2 cellphone companies to keep communicating with work and finding more work.
I’ve worked all my life I’ve collected Unemployment once, when I tried recently I was denied due to a technicality.
After sending in the corrected paperwork day after day, hour after hour I called and NOTHING I couldn’t reach anyone I’m done waiting any longer.
I’m hard-working and great at my job.
My employer likes me.
I start with a 4:30 AM bus ride to the train station after a 45-minute train ride, another bus to the job just minutes before the 7 am start time.

Bottom line I’m NO bum I’ve worked hard for what I had I came up with nothing but that was different It was just me and not a whole lot to lose. But now I do have a lot to lose and people that depend on me. And YES, IM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP. IM BEGGING FOR ANY KIND OF HELP.

I’m currently looking to donate plasma for money.
I truly, truly need help. Anything would mean, so much. A little help could go a long way. Rent, a cellphone bill would be huge, or a few hundred bucks to help with food, wash clothes, and travel to work.

Your help could benefit me in so many ways, a dependable vehicle would allow me to look for better-paying jobs.
Not be a burden to friends and Family getting rides or worrying if I have a way home.
I just want to get back on my own two feet.

Thank you for your time and I hope there’s a way we can help each other.
Please don’t let me fail.

Any cent makes a difference.

I recently lost my job due to company downsizing and have been unable to find new employment, causing significant financial strain on my family. This situation has made it difficult to cover basic expenses, including my children’s education. Both of my children are dedicated students with dreams that require a solid education, but I cannot afford their tuition fees for the upcoming school year, which include tuition, books, and essential supplies.Despite cutting back on non-essential expenses and seeking local assistance, it is not enough. Therefore, I am reaching out to our community for help. Any amount you can contribute will make a significant difference, ensuring that my children can continue their education without interruption. Your support will not only alleviate our immediate financial burden but also empower my children to pursue their dreams and build a better future.Education is a powerful tool, and with your help, we can provide them with the opportunities they deserve. Thank you for considering a donation. If you cannot donate, sharing our story with others would also be greatly appreciated. We deeply thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.

In Need: So very much all of a sudden

I don’t even know where to begin: I have several chronic conditions, to name a few Autoimmune disease(R.A), low back surgery about three years ago, fibromyalgia & that’s just a few my body doesn’t produce steroid fluid nor adrenal gland fluid-I’ve lived here in my current residency for about 16 years-Four years ago accompany took over the property/They supposed to help the community, Yet it hasn’t been that way l; even several of my neighbors have moved out for various reasons. I received a notice by certified mail asking for me to kindly leave the premises by July-They did not give me a reason:I have  proof of the letter they sent- I called them. They still couldn’t give me a reason. I know why, That I can explain privately because I want to have room to explain the reason for my need at this moment. I don’t even have 🧳 Luggages for my family, We’ve been packing little by little.
Paying rent and trying to save up for first months rent & a deposit has been very difficult. Even with all my you can say disabilities-I’ve been Taking care of my Grandmother 👵 Since 2012, A couple years ago she ended up developing onset dementia with medication. It has helped prolong the disease. It has been trying she has no family. I been the only one taking care of her & my children would help out as well. When I had surgery, the state came in & help & that changed everything but I couldn’t do much for my grandma at the same time she  also had for 4th stroke being an ICU every time & then going to rehabilitation centers. She would get better go back home. I would become again her 24 hour caretaker and that’s basically when my body gave up. I had to get treated  have surgery in a hospital about two hours away(such a painful process, I Had eight doctors working on me, I’m gonna still need surgery on each level of my low back🥹. It scares me because where I got rehabilitated it was not a very good place. My husband had to take me out of there by day three or four that; I would have to also discuss privately as to why and what happened to me, Honestly, I feared what could happen to me yet I wanted to speak out what happened to me so that others don’t go through it🥹 but when they have the power($) it can be very difficult 😥

Right now, we have been searching & seeking a place to live. It is so difficult because there’s not very many places in my area that fits our budget & is nice area where the that you can say crime rate is low. My daughter is working, She’s trying her best to help us so much😭 Even now as I tell A little bit of my story am crying Because I Can’t Understand where did we violated  our Lease, or how in anyway, but In Ohio after your lease expires you can ask the tenants to leave😔 with no reason. Where trying to figure out and save for moving expenses, everything is adding up quickly & this was so unexpected.
Just last month, I turned in my grandmother‘s apartment because we could not afford her being in a nursing home & paying for her apartment. The plan was always for her to come back. We moved everything out of there, just me & my family. Which is my husband and two children, I’m  sharing all of this with you so you could understand & have a clearer picture of what we’ve have been facing. My husband works part time: Because there are times where the pain is so bad in my joints that I really am not able to do anything & he helps me so much, if not, when I get swelling in my ankles, I have to be literally in bed three days at a time. I’ve been working since I’ve been 16  years old, Very independent person. Got into a car crash I was in the passenger side they use the jaws of life to get me out. I don’t even remember the accident. Ever since I suffered from back pain for many years & Six years ago diagnosed autoimmune mean disease. Last year, my husband‘s stepmother passed away a beautiful lady that was unexpected. A month later his father passed away. He had no insurance. Two weeks later, a close friend of ours passed away he had no insurance as well. People don’t understand how expensive it is to bury somebody & you can say a little by Little our savings Has basically Gone down to zero. Credit cards maxed out with each Funeral-Sad to say you know who is who when somebody passes away. Almost 2 years ago, my dog passed away from lung cancer😭 I didn’t even realize how much he was basically my emotional pet, He was only 10 years old beautiful Sog who literally loves everybody, strangers didn’t matter who and if we had the money we would’ve paid for surgery, when I seen the life leave his eyes those was the hardest thing in my life I ever been through,on top of everything else😭. I’m asking for help it’s the hardest thing to do, But I don’t know what else to do, I’ve never been in This type of situation-My son has ADHD he worries so much He’s almost done packing his room. I talked to him so much & I’m Reassure him that we will find someplace to live that way he can be calm. I truly am in need of help and kindly am asking for help, if you could find it in your heart 💛 to help me & my family, there would be no words to express The gratitude in my heart and in my family 💚 heart.   Thank you 🙏 so very much…

Taking care of 2 nieces after losing job and need to find a new home for us soon

I’ve been living in a mobile home for about a year and a half now and found out in January my landlord is selling and i need to be out by the end of the July. So since then I’ve been setting aside any extra money i make so i can prepare to move. I was working as a carpet cleaner making commission of 20% on each job which used to be a pretty profitable occupation before covid. Since then business has slowly been dying with the past year being the worst. The beginning of the year is when we’re the slowest anyways but this January we were down to almost no jobs the whole month so the company had no option but to let go of most its staff, myself being one of them. That was January and was the first speed bump, the one that followed in February came out of nowhere and hit really hard. A quick backstory of My sister, she’s a single mother of 2 amazing daughters (9 and 14) has been having financial troubles after her she lost her job and had her car repossessed and sold at auction. When that happens she’s still obligated to pay off the rest of the lease amount, in her case that equaled 13,000 dollars. Obviously she can’t pay that so they are suing her and garnishing her wages. Other than paying them the money she owes the only other option she would have is filing for bankruptcy. She was stuck in a bad situation with 2 hard options to get out of it. She let the stress of everything build up and started using drugs as a way of numbing herself to it all. I can understand needed a way to relieve the stress but can’t believe she would choose drugs 3 years after we lost our cousin, who was my best friend, an amazing father of 4 and the nicest person you’d ever meet. He started using the same drugs she’s currently in which led to him taking his own life which was extremely hard on everyone so to find out she’s doing the same drugs just blows my mind. The one thing I’m thankful for through all of this was that she had a good enough state of mind to bring the girls to my house where she knows they’d be safe and taken care of. I just don’t know how to make it happen financially. She basically dropped them off, didn’t say where she was going or when she was coming back. She just left and never came back. Changed her number, blocked everyone on Facebook and disappeared. I’ve tried everything from driving through bad neighborhoods looking to trying to file a missing persons report but couldn’t since she left willingly. I’m more than happy and willing to accept full responsibility with raising these 2 girls but since I’m not a legal guardian i can’t do much. Even picking them up from school Is like pulling teeth because I’m not a parent and I’m not on the list. I use that analogy because the older needs to go to the dentist but legally i can’t make the appointment or even so much as bring her to the doctors office. I’ve found an attorney who can help me out, starting with filing for temporary guardianship but her fee is $2000  and i don’t have anything close to that but if i did it would have to go towards finding us a place to live, my car payment/rent/phone bill plus we need food and clothes since all the girls had when they were dropped off were a backpack with a few outfits each. I’ve found work and i pick up as many hour’s as i can, the job doesn’t pay that well but it’s better than nothing until i find something better. I’ve also rented a booth at a flea market selling off my comic books and action figures and pretending i have my own store of collectibles instead of selling so the stuff i collected for myself. I dont mind selling the shirt off my back and working my hands to the bone for these girls but it feels like I’m doing that and i just keep getting deeper and deeper into a whole. I’ve never been one to beg or ask for help but these girls deserve something better and i promised to do what it takes to get them there i just need a little push.
assuming anyone is still here reading this i want to thank you for listening to my story and if not, it was at least therapeutic to get these words out and write down what I’ve been going through. I guess i fondly understand diaries… which means I’ve already gotten 2 things out of this so I’m winning already but if anyone would like to help in anyway, then the girls and I would appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

A helping hand to pull me out of serious debt

First off, id like to introduce myself.  My name is Heaven. I am 30 years old. I used to have pretty good credit but I have ruined that over time. I’ve had so many bills piling up and instead of getting enough money together to eliminate debt I’ve accrued more. I’m so behind on some basic things. Car payments, cell phone, credit cards/personal loans, insurance, you name it! I even owe for having my dogs teeth pulled. I would love to be able to get rid of some of the debts that are holding me back. Once I get back on track, it will be a whole lot easier to take care of everyday things like food, toiletries and so on. Please consider helping me get on track to taking care of debts and getting myself in a place where I can maybe save some money to buy myself a home one day. I am looking for roughly $20,000 total. I understand that is asking for a lot. I’ve always heard that it’s ok to ask for help, so now I’m asking. Thank you.

Please help me escape abuse and heal mentally

hi i am a 23-year-old married woman living in Australia. I am writing this with a heavy heart, hoping to find a glimmer of hope in this dark time of my life. Recently, I have suffered severe domestic abuse from my partner, which forced me to make the difficult decision to separate from him. This decision, although necessary for my safety, has left me in an incredibly vulnerable and desperate situation.

I have no place to call home and am struggling with immense emotional and mental turmoil. To make matters worse, my parents have abandoned me because I left my abusive marriage, leaving me completely alone in a foreign country with no support system. Every day feels like an uphill battle, and I am at my breaking point.

I am reaching out to you, kind strangers, in the hope that you can help me find a way out of this nightmare. I urgently need assistance to leave Australia and return to Nepal, where I can start anew and rebuild my life. Your generosity can provide me with the means to secure safe passage home and begin healing from the trauma I have endured.

Every little bit helps, and your support could be the lifeline that brings me back to safety and gives me a chance to reclaim my life. If you are able to help, please consider donating to my PayPal: kriti.kafle.59@gmail.com.

Maui Wildfire Relief

Dear Benefactor,

Life can change in an instant, and for my family and me, it changed dramatically last year. We live on Maui, where I had a stable job that allowed us to live comfortably. However, the devastating Lahaina wildfire obliterated our community, leaving me jobless and our family in dire straits.

Our situation is dire, and we humbly ask for your help. The wildfire not only took away my job but also consumed our savings. We are now in a desperate situation, needing to find a way to make ends meet.

Compounding our struggles is my wife’s severe dental issues. As a child in China, she was given antibiotics that inhibited the growth of enamel on her teeth—a common issue due to the medications used at the time. Seeking affordable dental care, we went to Mexico, where we spent $8,000 on treatment, only for it to be botched, leaving her in constant pain with ten improperly done crowns. Proper dental care in the U.S. is crucial for her health and well-being, but it is prohibitively expensive for us right now.

Adding to our emotional and financial burden, my wife’s parents have recently moved in with us from China. They are elderly and needed her care, as she is their only child, a result of the one-child policy. Shortly after their arrival, her father was diagnosed with stage 4 colon and liver cancer. Caring for her parents has added an immense emotional burden to our already strained resources.

To provide for my family and ensure my wife receives the dental care she needs, her parents are cared for in their old age, and we can build a new life after the wildfire, we have come up with a plan. One viable solution is starting a small business on Turo, renting out cars to tourists on Maui. With your support, we can purchase a few vehicles to get started. This venture will provide a steady income to pay bills and slowly rebuild our lives.

We are a hardworking family that has always managed to pull through tough times, but the combination of these hardships has left us overwhelmed. Your generosity could be the beacon of hope we desperately need. By supporting us, you would help us start the Turo business, fund my wife’s essential dental repairs, and assist with her father’s care. Every contribution will make a significant difference and bring us one step closer to stability and hope.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for considering our plea. Your kindness can change our lives forever.

With gratitude,
Derek & Fei Benbrook
