I’m writing this letter to request $2700 in funds for a car repair. I’m a single father and my son and daughter live with me. I’m employed as a semi Truck driver. My day is: I drive 45 to work, get in the semi truck and drive 8-10hrs a day and another 45 minutes home. Its quite a haul but it’s a job and I’m not one of the complaining type. In life, my parents always told me that ” you do what you have to do to get to what you want to do in life”.

I’m requesting the funds because my car, which is a 2003 Infinite G35, transmission went out on me. Luckily I wasn’t on the road yet and I was able to get it back to my house.

The problem is that this is my only source of transportation for me and my children. I got a rental car to continue going back and forth to work, but my rental car is costing me $260 a week. Rental car prices are outrageous!  I’ve been trying to hold on for the past month and a half but I can’t save any money to get my car repaired because of what I’m paying out weekly for the car on top of the bills for the house. I honestly feel as though I’m at a check cashing place and can’t get out!! If you’ve ever been in a situation to use a check cashing place you know how high the interest rate is and it’s nearly impossible to get out of the cycle. I’ve gone to a car lot but I can’t afford the payments they were trying to give me.

It’s a tough situation and I’m going to keep my head up but I really need some help if there’s anyone out there willing to help. I will provide receipts of the repair work or whatever you need to see how the funds were used.

I live out in a rural area. I had a job and a car, and I was working on getting on my feet to save up money to move out of the toxic house I live in. I rent a room from someone who was once a friend. As time goes by, the abuse and negativity has gotten worse. But I was working my way out of here. That is, until, my car broke down. My transmission went out. My dad passed away back in 2008 and left me his 1997 Buick Skylark, which he purchased new.  The vehicle has 138,000 miles but is in decent condition and it has a great amount on sentimental value to me.

It’s not like me to ask for help and I hate having to do it, but I just started a new job which is fairly close to home, but this job pays monthly and I don’t get my first paycheck until July 15.  It’s going to be rough getting by for the next few months and I don’t officially start full-time until September 1.

My trouble started when the car overheated and we ended up replacing the water pump because it was leaking.  We also replaced the thermostat and serpentine belt.  We went to fill it with antifreeze/coolant and it all poured out on the ground, turns out the heater core has a major leak as well and the estimate to replace the heater core is $400 just for the labor.  While in the shop they told me it was time to replace the brakes and the shocks are getting worn.  They also pointed out that the bushings on the motor mounts were getting bad so I will need new motor mounts.

My backup vehicle was recently rear-ended in a hit and run.  It appears something is broke on the rear axle and I don’t even know if it can be fixed but currently it can’t be driven.  I only have a few miles to get to work, so I don’t need much of a vehicle, I’d be going by e-bike if I could afford one.  Thank you in advance for any assistance you might be able to give with my daily commute to and from work.

This is probably the hardest thing I have ever done.  I have learned to be humble and know when to ask for help and for me this is that time.  I am a 47 year old widowed father into Covid I had done well kept my bills paid even had a successful business.  I successfully raised my 3 children to adulthood and proudly saw them all graduate with honors.  I am a proud person by nature I believe in working hard for what you want and paying your own way.  Sadly after the pandemic my life took a step downward turn. I was laid off from my job and lived in a small town so work prospects were non existent for a long time.  I struggled to keep my home and pay my bills but sadly my investments and savings only carried us so far. Luckily I was able to see my youngest graduate and leave home before I lost everything but it was just barely.  I was forced to sell off all my belongings for a fraction of their worth until I only had my trusty truck and clothes.  For the first time I was homeless and nearly without hope. Living my son had a room for me but it was 400 miles away so I packed up and set off with my dwindling bank account and what little hope I had left.  I didn’t make it 50 miles and my transmission blew on my truck I used everything I had left to get a haul a and a tow bar.  I pulled my truck to my new home but I was left penniless.  My truck will cost about $3500 to fix.  Usually this wouldn’t be an issue but sadly like many others my savings are gone my investments also all gone.  I’m drowning on debt caused by my loss of employment from covid then the extremely long amount of time it took for the small town I lived in to come back to life afterwards. It’s unrealistic to believe all my problems will be solved from this but I’m hopeful that maybe God or the universe however you want to look at it will find a way to bless me.  I believe in paying it forward and have done my best to live by that but now I find myself being the one hoping beyond hope that someone will find it in their heart to help me.  My transmission would cost$3500 my debt has become a staggering 50k but honestly if I could just get my truck back on the road i can work and start working on everything else.  That being said anything would be helpful.  Thank you for reading this and if you find it in your heart to bless me with any amount I can say with 100% certainty your blessing will be paid forward to another when I am back on my feet. I don’t know where to begin with this request really. I’ll start by saying that I’m 39 years old and now clean and sober. I battled addiction for a lot of years and then finally grew up and got over it. I used to have a business with my father and I got in some trouble and if forced us to shut the business down and because of the stress my dad had a stroke. I have been rebuilding our relationship and for almost 4 years I worked three jobs. During that time I helped cover my parents expenses  like rent, vehicle costs, Etc. During this time I was dating a female that to my dismay was not honest or loyal. I caught her cheating on me numerous times and asked her to admit her disloyalty. She refused and it upset her that I had caught her more than once. Little did I know she was taking every piece of information and situation that she could to slowly sabotage my life. I had saved for years and years and searched high and low far and wide for my dream car. A 2000 B5 Audi S4. After finding one that I was pleased with I purchased it and took exceptionally great care of his car. It is my baby.  Well after my own personal custom alterations with the car performance upgrade parts and slowly on its way to becoming an award-winning showstopper. I leave a friend’s house one night get in the car and begin heading home when I come to my first stop sign and notice that not only do I have any breaks but I have no clutch pressure either. What was the reason for this? Well my ex-girlfriend (the cheater) had cut my brake lines on the car. My break and clutch fluids run on the same master cylinder so since the clutch had been blood dry it also caused my first second and fourth gears to seize in the transmission. I knew that the repair was going to be costly however I wasn’t aware of how much until I got an estimate. It’s a $3,000 fix to get this thing back on the road. I didn’t have that much money so in a pinch I purchased another car for Fairly cheap. However that car ended up being a nightmare. Problem after problem until one day I was unaware that my tags were expired 3 days past the renew date. The car got impounded and I was no longer able to make it to work and one by one I was fired from my jobs. Now my parents are struggling again as am I also. Where is my dream car now? It’s sitting in my birth mom’s backyard and slowly sinking into the ground because time is getting the best of both of us. Having no transportation and living in a trailer I’m losing hope in life and Ever Getting that car back on the road again. I don’t know what to do and it’s come to a point where I need to get it out of my mom’s backyard and if I can’t get it running it’s probably going to go to a junkyard. On October 8, 2023, I had a terrible accident where I almost lost my life. Thank God, I didn’t lose my life, but I did lose my new car. My car was a 2019 “Mitsubishi Mirage G-4” that cost $19,995, and I only had $8,000 left to pay it off. That was the car I used to work as a full-time UBER driver. Basically, my car was my tool for making money, and what I used to pay the rent for my apartment, the car payment, my cell phone, and other personal bills. It seems that repairing the car is too expensive, and here in my country, it is very rare for car insurance to cover all the costs of a collision or accident. I’m single 39 yr. old female, have no family at all or close friends to ask so here I am. I’m asking for help with my car. my car repair quote is around $6000.00. So here is the story on the car. I did not run the car into the ground I know how to maintain a car. I unknowingly financed the car that way. I tried to sue but apparently I can’t. idk why. So, little over year ago I financed the car for $12,000.00. I put $6,000.00 cash down on it. Only to have the check engine light come on BEFORE I EVEN GOT HOME! I took it to an actual dealership and had inspection done just to find out the car needs $12,000.00 worth of work! including timing chain (reason for engine light) oil leak, coolant leak, motor mounts, broken brake shoes (unsafe to drive), and several other things. I had the timing chain done for just under $6,000.00. But haven’t been able to get the other $6,000.00 to finish repairs because I’m still paying the car note so i wont mess up my credit as I’m already trying to rebuild it.
