I am a new author! I have written two novels, my second is entitled Ulysses Lives!, and it is published and available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iTunes.  It took at least two years to write Ulysses Lives!, and about as long to edit, proofread, and streamline it as well. The result is something I am proud of, as any new author would be.  I tried very hard to produce a novel as easy to read as possible, and I know I have succeeded.

But alas, my novel is not selling. Why not? Well, no one knows about it. No one knows about it because no one is promoting it, no, not even the publisher.  As it turns out, I can not expect the publisher to pay for book promotion, even though they have a stake in this project as well. I am not promoting my novel either, and that is because I don’t have any money left.  I went into debt just to get published, the fee amounted to $3500, and I financed it through credit cards and high-interest loans.  The debt has almost ruined me, at the very least it has made it difficult to make ends meet, and in addition, I have fallen behind in almost all my bill payments, including rent.

I humbly request a donation of $5000. Such a generous donation would enable me to pay off at least a little of that debt, and perhaps more importantly, enable me to promote my novel at least a little.

The past three years have been extremely trying for me and my family. Passionate about design, I chose to venture into the world of t-shirt design. While I had the creative skills, I soon realized that starting a business required more than just talent. I invested time and effort into researching the latest and most effective processes, but I did not anticipate the substantial costs involved.

To get my business off the ground, I used my credit cards to cover the expenses of obtaining the necessary licenses, legal documentation, and hardware. With my brand, Knocks, in mind, I began selling my designs online while also reaching out to other businesses, offering my services and customized products. The initial success I experienced, securing a few clients, filled me with pride and hope. However, the challenges soon emerged.

Despite my best efforts, I struggled to secure additional clients and generate enough income to cover my monthly bills and rent. Eventually, due to logistical difficulties, my services were discontinued by the businesses I had been working with. Faced with this setback, I shifted my focus to building an online presence.

I established my store on Etsy, called KnocksVIP, in the hopes of selling my unique clothing and home goods designs. While I made a few sales, including some support from friends, the return on my investment was not sufficient. I found myself draining my resources, both financially and emotionally, with advertising costs and social media boosts.

To make ends meet, although ignoring my credit bills, I took on sporadic jobs designing t-shirts for friends and through referrals. However, I have now reached a breaking point. My credit cards are maxed out, and I am unable to pay them off. I have reluctantly come to the realization that I need help.

The core component of my business, my printer, recently broke down. I have done my best to repair it, but unfortunately, the quality it now produces is far from satisfactory. I am desperately seeking assistance to acquire a new printer, which is crucial for the survival of my business. While I have explored alternative options for producing my products, such as outsourcing or shipping, the increased costs would significantly impact the affordability of my products and compromise my position as an accessible and budget-friendly clothing provider.

The professional printer I require comes with a price tag of around $27,000, but I have also considered used machines, which range around $18,000. I am wanting to start a farm where I can raise fresh, homegrown foods that will be delivered to local food banks to allow everyone to enjoy The Homegrown Experience.  This delivery would include seasonal fresh fruits, vegetables and eggs.  I am hoping to raise enough to purchase at least 10 acres of land or more which could benefit 100’s if not 1000’s of people each week.  I have over 20  years experience with raising homegrown, fresh fruits and vegetables along with chickens for eggs.  I want to bring this life of experience to a bigger level to be able to share with people who either live in a food desert or cannot afford fresh, homegrown foods.  The joy of homegrown foods and the nutritional value versus processed foods.

I am also looking to include a hands on learning experience for individuals and groups that are looking to learn more about how food is grown.  This would include hands on workshops for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and individuals looking to learn how to grow their own food from seeds and what is involved in the raising of chickens for egg production in a free range atmosphere and some of the different breeds and egg colors.

I am seeking business capitol in order to purchase new equipment in order to repair more band instruments for the Houston and surrounding areas. I own a band instrument repair shop in the Houston area.

 

I currently have an ultrasonic cleaning tank but require a bigger one in order to clean tubas. Tubas are one of the instruments that don’t get cleaned regularly by school districts because they are one of the more pricy instruments to clean. They are pricey due to the time and effort needed to clean it properly.

 

If an instrument isn’t cleaned on a regular basis (at least once a year), it can cause health problems. Think about a student that has lunch right before band. That student is basically blowing their lunch into the instrument. If it isn’t cleaned at least once a year, that instrument is given to another student the next year and the cycle continues. There is stuff growing in that instrument that could cause the student some health problems. I want to solve that problem.
