Need help with rent to keep me and my 1 year old safe

This is truly a shot in the dark and one of my last resort options.

I got laid off the week before I gave birth in 2023 and I have been unemployed up until January of 2025.

I’ve been getting by on help from family and friends but in that time my car got repossessed right before Christmas and I got behind on rent.

In the middle of all the stress I was finally hired for a job in January but it didn’t start until February 19th.

As it stands I’m 3 months behind on rent and need all the help I can get. Realistically $5500 would get me out of eviction status.

I’ve been homeless before and I don’t want to do that again with a small child if I can help it. I tried to apply for a loan but the job I have now is at a huge pay cut and would still have me behind on rent paying it off.

I hope this reaches the right people because I really want to keep me and my kid safe.

Urgent Help Needed: A Family’s Plea to Keep a Roof Over Our Heads

Hello, kind-hearted people.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do—putting my pride aside and asking for help. But today, I find myself in a situation I never imagined: struggling to keep a roof over my family’s head.

I am 60 years old, a husband, a father of five, and the sole provider for my family, including our two beloved dogs. My wife has been a dedicated stay-at-home mother, ensuring our children are cared for while I’ve worked tirelessly to support us. I’ve always taken great pride in being a provider, but life has taken an unexpected turn.

I recently lost my job, and while I’ve done everything I can to keep us afloat—burning through my entire retirement savings and severance pay—we are now at a breaking point. We receive income assistance, but it barely covers basic utilities and groceries, let alone our rent for the house we have been in for 5 years.

I am not giving up. I am in the process of starting my own business, something that will allow me to stand on my own two feet again. But as with any new venture, it will take time before we see any real financial stability—at least 90 days. Right now, I just need a bridge to get us through until then.

I am humbly asking for $15,000, which will help us cover rent and essential bills for the next three months while I work to rebuild.

As a father, husband, and provider, this is an incredibly difficult request to make. My identity has always been rooted in taking care of my family, and the weight of not being able to do so right now is devastating. But I also believe in the kindness and generosity of others, and if you are in a position to help—whether big or small—please know that it would mean the world to us.

I would be grateful beyond words for any assistance. And if you wish to connect, I would be happy to personally thank you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this, and may life return your kindness tenfold.

🙏 With gratitude,

Tod

Desperate for rent

Hello,

I am desperately in need of help as I am about to be evicted from my home. I am disabled and my parents died over a year ago. My sister took over the rent upon their passing and hasn’t been paying it. I have just found out we owe almost 10,000 and face eviction in the next few days. I have nowhere to go and no other family and due to my disability I don’t have the means to work.

I am going to lose my childhood home. I am going to lose my little cat who is my whole world. I won’t survive on the streets.

Please someone help me.

College student struggling.

Hi there. My name is alyssa, I’m 21 years old and just recently enrolled in a college course. However, not even 4 days ago I woke up to a message from my boss stating that his business was evicted from the building’s landlord, has refused any communication and has refused to compensate myself and the rest of my coworkers for the last month we have worked. There is nothing for jobs currently. My student loan payments start coming out in March, I have rent on March 1st. I was the breadwinner for rent and bills between my mom and I who live together. I’ve been trying to apply for as many jobs as I can, I’ve posted selling items on FB, I don’t know what to do. This is not something I usually do, this is a last resort for me to find any help I can.

Senior Scam Victim Needs Financial Help

I am a victim of wire fraud. They presented as a legitimate broker in a vehicle transaction. (Ebay Motors) I wired $21,000 to them before I discovered that they were illegitimate. This can be verified by my banker, Scott at State Employees Credit Union at the S. Churton St. branch in Hillsborough, NC. Needless to say, my retirement funds disappeared. In an attempt to earn enough money to cover my living expenses, I sought a work from home job because my failing health would not allow me to do outside work. I got onboarded by a company that presented themselves as a well known legitimate business (AirBnb) They turned out to be a scam that stole another $30,000 from me.
There were others that scammed me to the tune of $12,000.
I feel foolish about these errors in judgement, and they have left me desperate. My once good credit rating is now very poor, making it difficult to get good housing. I have always worked hard but I am now in failing health. My Social Security doesn’t cover the extremely high rentals in my area. This is the sole purpose of my appeal. I’m in immediate need of assistance. I need to move from this furnished place for more reasonable rent. First month rent and deposit will cost me about $3,000. I will also need to buy some furniture. If I can’t get that pretty quick, I will need another $1,800 to close out where I’m living now.
Can you help me? Any amount will help.
Thank you so much for your help and consideration.

Help Us Secure a Roof Over Our Heads

Hello,

My name is Amanda, and I am reaching out with a humble request for help. My husband and I, along with our two children, have been facing homelessness for the past few of months, and we are desperately trying to secure stable housing before the arrival of our third child in May.

As a mother, I never expected to find myself in this situation—struggling to provide a safe and stable home for my children. I have always worked hard to support my family, but after the loss of my income, we have been unable to make ends meet on my husband’s earnings alone. With medical bills, daily necessities, and other financial responsibilities, saving enough for a fresh start has felt impossible.

We have been approved for an apartment that participates in the Housing Tax Credit affordable housing program, which means our monthly rent and utilities will be manageable on my husband’s income while I continue searching for work. However, our biggest challenge right now is the move-in cost, which totals $3,328. This includes the security deposit, the first month’s rent, and other required fees before we can move in.

I have applied for state assistance for help with the move-in costs, but resources are extremely limited, and I have yet to receive any answers on when—or even if—we will get help. Every time I reach out, I’m met with uncertainty, leaving us in an agonizing waiting game with no clear resolution. In the meantime, we remain stuck in a cycle of instability, relying on family or friends for places to stay since shelters we contact have 4-6 month waiting lists. Every moment without a home adds to the stress and uncertainty, especially as we prepare to welcome our newest little one.

I am asking for any support—whether big or small—to help us reach this goal. Every donation brings us one step closer to securing a home for our children, where they can feel safe and secure. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing our story would mean the world to us.

From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate any kindness and generosity you can offer. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. May you be blessed abundantly for any help you can provide.

With gratitude,
Amanda & Family

Mother’s Plea: A Safe Home for My Three Babies

I never imagined I would find myself in this position writing to strangers, hoping that someone, somewhere, might have the kindness in their heart to help me and my children stay in our home. But life has a way of humbling you, and today, I am asking for a miracle.I am a single mother of three beautiful children, all under the age of five. Every day, I wake up with one goal ”to give them the best life possible, despite the struggles we face. I have always worked hard to provide for them, doing everything in my power to keep food on the table, clothes on their backs, and a roof over their heads. But right now, that roof is at risk.

Over the past few months, I have been fighting to stay afloat. Between rising costs, unexpected expenses, and limited support, I have fallen behind on my rent. My landlord has been patient, but time is running out, and I am terrified that my children and I will be forced out of our home. I need $3,500 to cover the overdue rent and avoid eviction. This amount would not just pay the debt ”it would give us security, warmth, and peace of mind, at least for a little while.

I am not asking for a handout. I am asking for a helping hand something to pull us out of this dark moment so that I can keep pushing forward. I am actively seeking more stable opportunities, doing everything in my power to ensure that this never happens again. But right now, I need help.

I think about my children every second of the day. I see the innocence in their eyes, their little smiles that dont yet understand the weight of the world. They deserve stability. They deserve to wake up in their beds tomorrow and every day after that, without fear of losing their home.

If you have the ability to help, even in the smallest way, you would not just be giving us money you would be giving my children a safe place to sleep, a home filled with love instead of fear, and a mother who can breathe again.

Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for even considering helping us. I pray that someone out there has the heart to answer this desperate plea.

With gratitude and hope,

Anna

I Lost my business because of Covid and Im still struggling to rebuild

Hello world and thank you for all those willing to help people like myself and others who are in need of assistance. I have been a Real Estate Investor for 19 years and finally felt confident enough in my abilities to leave my job of nine years to start my real estate services company in 2018. I was excited and ready to use my hard earned nest egg to jump out on my own and finally rely on my own abilities to support my life. With that being said, I got licensed to be a realtor and was studying to become a contractor. I had purchased multiple properties, renovated them, and rented them out to build my residual income which would be the backbone of my business. I would periodically flip properties for additional cash flow as well as provide realty services and consultation for clients…. and then it happened. Covid. I had acquired 10 units with 10 different tenants and then the moratorium happens. People were not required to pay their rent and I lost everything. I didn’t receive any government assistance or a PP loan. I lost every property that I owned. My car was repossessed and I myself had to get assistance from the government to pay my rent ….twice for 5 figure rental arrears. I’m a single mother with a 13-year-old son. I picked up delivery jobs and sold any luxury goods that I own to try to pay bills and rent.I started getting food stamps and medicaid to further assist with my son. I am still working hard to try to restart my business and to keep a roof over our heads. Any help is a blessing and I’m truly thankful and grateful for any assistance that can be provided.

LOOKING FOR HELP IN THIS DIFFICULT TIME

Hello everyone

My name is Cheryl and I am reaching out to this platform as a last choice to
ask for help. I am a daughter who takes care of my 80 yr old mother, who is
wheelchair bound and has a lot of health issues including chronic Rheumatoid
arthritis and heart disease. Last year was the most challenging, when she was in and out of hospital a few times. I am fully responsible for her care and this has taken
a lot of time off work also leading to me behind on my own bills. This month I am unable to meet her rent and heating bills etc, which is $1800. The landlord does not care about our financial situation, as was told to me. I owed everyone, for the
help and now this is the only choice I have here. I feel so alone and so depressed about this situation, cause I do not know what to do, there is no where else
to go or shelter her. I am asking for any donations whatever you can, towards
this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Single Mother In Need of Finacial Assistance

Hello, I hope all is well. I want to thank anyone that takes the time to read this.

I am a young, single mother Rasing a young boy, He is 2.
Late last year I moved out of my mother’s house. (It was a very unhealthy environment, and I wanted better for my son and I)

I moved in with a family I’ve known for some years to continue getting on my feet.  I was able to land a job teaching at a local day care and by December I2th I became officially employed again. During the course of Christmas break 2024, I was put in a very inappropriate situation by one of the men that lived in the home. My son and I had to pack up and leave. Leaving us with nowhere to go.

We have been in and out of hotels, friend’s home, Airbnb’s all while I continue to work and search for apartments.

luckily enough I found a complex that was willing to work with me on getting me despite my low credit.

Because of not having a stable place to stay for the last few weeks I cannot afford all of the move in fee’s and first month’s rent. ($3,000)

Looking for assistance to help get my son and I a stable home and a fresh start. If anyone is able to help this would be a huge blessing to my son and I. I believe in God and I know someone will feel my cry.

A Humble Request

I never imagined I’d find myself in this position, but here I am, asking for your help to give my family some much-needed stability.

After serving 8 years in active duty in the military, I transitioned to the Air Force National Guard to pursue my degree, with the dream of becoming a pilot and officer. I worked hard, and by the time I graduated, I had offers lined up, ready to take the next step. Unfortunately, the world shifted in ways I couldn’t have foreseen. Changes within the military and the pandemic caused the pilot position and job offers to vanish, leaving me searching for a way to move forward.

After my college graduation in May of 2021, the pandemic made finding a job impossible. At the same time, my wife was diagnosed with a rare pain disorder, turning our lives upside down. My in-laws invited us to stay with them until we figured out the next move and I found employment.

Shortly after moving in with my in-laws, I began working for my father who was only able to pay me $300/week, but I appreciated any help. Six months later my father became ill, and I made the decision to step in and take over his business. This was the only way to ensure my parents could maintain an income during his recovery. While I’m grateful to have had the chance to support them, the business has been struggling, and there are months we can’t even pay ourselves. Still, I’ve kept going because family means everything to me.

My father is now unable to work and is in very poor health, so I have taken over his business. It is struggling to say the least, but I’m determined to make it successful.

My family of four has been living with my in-laws for the past four years. It hasn’t been easy. Boundaries have been crossed, money has gone missing, and the situation has made a hard life even harder. Now, we’ve been forced to leave sooner than expected due to their behavior towards not only my wife and myself but our two children, and while we’ve been saving for a rental, we simply aren’t there yet.

The housing situation in our rural area is bleak—rentals are scarce, and home prices are unattainable. We’ve found an Airbnb nearby that’s only $50 a night and are planning to stay there temporarily until we can find a more permanent place. We’re also facing a potential move an hour away, which will mean a long commute for me, but it’s the only option for affordable housing.

Right now, we’re in desperate need of help to get through this transition. We need at least $6,000 to cover first and last month’s rent, a security deposit, and moving expenses. On top of that, we need groceries and help to make it through the next few weeks while we figure out our next steps.

I never thought I’d be in this position, and asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. But I have to put my pride aside for my family. If you’re able to help, we would be incredibly grateful. paypalme/MichaelRickman15

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can offer.

Written with gratitude and a humble heart.
