I recently took what little I had saved up to relocate to Baltimore Maryland for an amazing job opportunity! I’m not school smarts so I’m not able to get the HIGH PAYING JOBS unfortunately. This job reached out to me to just market for their company to grow their customer clients. I new I could do that plus they offered me more than I have ever made before which was 50,000 a year! I make around 20-30 thousand a year making pizzas for a living. I got so good at the pizza industry that they would open other stores and have me market for them. I thought to myself this is my break to live a better and easier life. I spent about all my money to get a crappy apartment and a uhaul to get my personal items down here! The job took a month of just multiple interviews and finally got to go meet them in person and start training. It was only one day and at the end of it said they decided they aren’t ready to open their business in Baltimore anymore. They swore it wasn’t me that I did great! I’m emotionally torn apart because I keep going over that day wondering what did I do wrong. I have no idea because the day went great! I feel it was a scam or they were in over there heads trying to grow there business and backed out last minute. Maybe because they couldn’t afford it! They questioned my skills on all those video meetings in that month it took to even get the job! So it’s not like this was a blind date! I need help desperately

My name is Lori Cordero.  I’m a travel nurse from Florida working in Vermont and living in New York.  I have a desperate situation and need help. I recently moved my husband up wuth me. He is very sick with CHF and his ejection fraction is 24%. He had a rare cancer that he beat and they now fear it has returned.  I had to move out of the one bedroom housing and get a small trailer in New York closer to my contract.  It took a lot of funding and advances from work to make this happen.  My stipends had to be advanced for 2 of the weeks and now paying back and my check is nothing till June.  I have to travel home to Florida on Friday for 10 days.  I have to get my fingerprinting in Florida to keep my license for nursing active. I have several things to take care of while I’m there including getting my driver’s license fixed and reprinted.  I lost it and when I tried to get replacement found out that it was suspended for a traffic cam violation that was my husband in August.  He has never had a ticket and still doesn’t because it was my car. So have to have that done witch is getting more expensive by the minute.  I pay over 600 a week for our insurance out of my check.  I send money for food medical ect to my 2 girls in Tennessee.  My 32yo is taking care of my 14yo. It’s her 14 birthday Friday.  I haven’t even been able to send anything to them in weeks.  I have tried every option I can think of.  I have my plane ticket in hold but I have to go.  He can’t get any of the help he needs if I don’t have a job anymore.  I work for Northland Job Corps un Vergennes Vermont.  I work hard and have my whole life.  Can’t get a loan because of credit.  When he had cancer we lost everything.  I’m taking steps to make sure that doesn’t happen again.  I would also like to bring my daughter here for summer.  I don’t know realistically how much time she has left with him. For the first time in my life I’m scared and begging.  I just need a boost of 4000 to get through this time home.  He is staying here for health reasons.  I have no choice I have to go.  This us a desperate plea for help. I can make it if I can just make ut through may. I have picked up all extra shifts I could to make up for the 10 days I will be gone.  Also haven’t seen my mom since September and she is not doing well. She suffered a stroke after my dad died of covid in 2020 and us declining.  I’m not a whinny person.  I do what I need to do. I love being a nurse and love the peace in my smalk village.  It’s an escape from the madness of Orlando. I am a disabled senior citizen. I work part time to make ends meet. I got behind on my pickup payment due to the loss of my grandson a year or so ago he was only 20 he was in a horrible car accident. I’ve been trying to recover financially from the situation over the last year and have made some good progress.  I made arrangements for a deferment on my vehicle payment. I thought everything was fine until a couple of days ago. My vehicle was repossessed. I called to find out what the problem was and they said they needed $1090 to reinstate my Loan. They acknowledged they had a deferment, but they said it wasn’t enough. I took my Social Security check and and didn’t pay my rent in order to get them paid them the $1090.00 in order to get my vehicle back.  They assured me they would send the release papers to the repossession company, right then and then I could pick up my vehicle by making an appointment with them. I made them promise me there would be no problems and they did. I can give you names of people. I talk to you when I have documentation anyway, my vehicle already been taken to the auction finance company had sent the release papers to the company to call them back. I called the finance company and they said I needed another $940 before they would release my vehicle. I’m going to be homeless. I use the money I have to make that payment and they just don’t care . I sent them copies of everything proving that I had done the deferment and that I had made the payment and they said it was a mistake and there was nothing they could do. I’m without a vehicle, i’m going to lose my job and I’m gonna be homeless. I’m at wits and I don’t know what to do. I never expected to be living my years this way now that my grandson‘s gone I have no other family. I’m alone and I need some help. I work hard, I’m a generous, good person and I’ve done my best.   I’m no quitter. I don’t mean to sound pathetic. I just need a little help. I can’t imagine being homeless especially over this. I’m writing this letter in hopes that someone will extend their generosity towards me.  

In July of 2023, My car was severely vandalized by “The Kia Boys”. Who are the Kia Boys you might ask?  They are a group of boys that go around breaking into or stealing  Kia cars ( non push button start) They watched a Tic Tok video teaching folks how easy it is to break into a Kia and start it up with just a UBS cord.  In order to do this, you have to break off the steering column underneath the steering wheel.  The damage is unreal! Mind you, This was done outside my home.  I was devastated beyond belief! I just paid my car off and this happened.  All I could afford to do was fix the broken window. 

Because of this vandalism of Kias, The insurance companies went up on insuring Kias. Even the liability shot up.  Most insurance companies have stopped insuring Kias all together  as a result of this unless they have a push button start.   My thought was to get a new car but I just can’t afford another car note right now after I just paid off this one.  I had to use my rent money to help with repairs of my car and now, I’m  struggling to pay rent month to month and my other bills.  I’ve been using my whole pay check to pay rent in order not to fall behind but then I hardly have anything left to pay other bills 

Im trying to get back on track. I feel like Im slipping slowly down a hole with nothing to grasp onto.  Im humbly asking for $2,837.50.  This is for April and May rent to help me get back on track.  This amount includes late fees and eviction filing fees.

Everything was great in my life until my mom started to have health issues. The biggest problem is that she felt and broke her legs. Hello, I am a mother of 3 children, two of which still live at home because they are adolescents.
