Sleeping with One Eye Open: My Battle Against the Loanshark
They say desperation makes you do things you never thought possible—but no one warned me it could cost you your peace, your sleep, and almost your life. I borrowed money from a loanshark, and now I’m trapped in a nightmare I can’t wake up from.
Life has become a relentless storm, and I feel like I’m drowning in its waves. Every day is a battle, and every night is a war. I made a mistake—a desperate decision to borrow money from a loanshark when I had nowhere else to turn. At the time, it felt like my only option, but now it feels like a noose tightening around my neck. The weight of the debt is crushing me, and the fear of what might happen if I can’t pay it back keeps me awake at night. I sleep with one eye open, haunted by the thought of what they might do to me or my loved ones. The stress is unbearable, and it’s taken a toll on my health. My head pounds constantly, and I can’t remember the last time I felt truly at peace.
The worst part is the loneliness. I feel like I’m trapped in a dark room with no way out, and no one to hear my cries for help. The devil himself has whispered in my ear, tempting me with the unthinkable—ending it all. He tells me that my life insurance policy could pay off the debt, that it would be a way out. But I know better. I know it’s not the answer. I refuse to let him win. I refuse to give up. But the thought lingers, a shadow in the back of my mind, and it scares me more than anything else.
I just want to start over. I want to wake up one morning and feel the sun on my face without the weight of this debt pressing down on me. I want to sleep through the night without fear or pain. I want to live, truly live, without looking over my shoulder or feeling like I’m one step away from disaster. But I can’t do it alone. I need help. I need someone to reach out and pull me out of this darkness before it consumes me completely.
I’m not asking for a handout. I’m asking for a chance—a chance to rebuild my life, to pay off this debt, and to find my way back to the light. I’m asking for someone to see my struggle and offer a lifeline, no matter how small. Because even the smallest act of kindness can be the spark that lights the way out of the darkness. Please, if you can help, know that you’re not just saving me from debt—you’re saving me from despair. And for that, I will be forever grateful.
I think about the life I used to have—the laughter, the peace, the simple joys that now feel like a distant memory. I miss the person I was before this debt took over my life. I miss feeling hopeful about the future. But I still believe that hope exists, even if I can’t see it right now. I believe that there are good people in the world who can help others in their darkest moments. I believe that kindness can change lives, and I’m holding onto that belief with everything I have.
If you’re reading this, please know that your help, no matter how small, could be the turning point in my life. It could be the difference between sinking deeper into this abyss or finding the strength to climb out. I’m not just fighting for myself—I’m fighting for the chance to live a life free from fear, free from debt, and free from the shadows that haunt me. Thank you for listening, and thank you for any help you can offer. You have no idea how much it means to me. My paypal link is tongolethu02@gmail.com.
Urgent Financial Assistance for Ongoing Medical Treatments
Dear Supporters of BeggingMoney.com,
I am writing to seek your kind assistance during a challenging period of my life. My name is [Your Name], a 59-year-old retired veteran and former flight attendant with American Airlines, where I served for over 20 years. In 2000, while crossing a crosswalk in Florida, I was struck by a car. Although I sustained no broken bones, the accident left me with numerous contusions and started a cascade of health issues that have progressively worsened over the years.
Following the accident, I underwent six months of therapy, but the pain and damage were more profound than initially assessed. Despite continuing my career as a flight attendant, the physical demands of the job, compounded by the turbulence and radiation exposure over the years, exacerbated my condition. By 2014, severe nerve problems and back spasms forced me into early retirement. My doctors advised that I would need to manage the chronic pain indefinitely.
Seeking a more affordable and sustainable healthcare solution, I relocated from the US to Panama. However, three months ago, while attempting to paint, (this was how I was covering any unfortunate expenses) I experienced a severe episode where my arm lost all movement due to sharp pain, with my blood pressure dangerously high at 179/111. My condition deteriorated to the point where I could barely move, sleep, or engage in any activity due to the pain.
After trying various traditional treatments without success, a local suggested an alternative approach. I met a practitioner from Taiwan who, upon examining me, diagnosed that my spine, shoulder, and two ribs were misaligned, issues stemming from the original car accident. Her non-traditional methods have been miraculous; from being unable to move my fingers, I can now lift my arm to my elbow. This treatment has been the only thing to offer relief in 25 years.
Currently, my pension from American Airlines is $1,300 a month. My rent and utilities are $600 a month. However, my treatments cost $900 a month, at $75 per session, twice a week. This expense, coupled with my inability to continue painting due to my condition, has depleted my savings. I am now facing the harsh reality of not being able to afford these crucial treatments.
I am reaching out to ask for your help to cover the costs of these treatments for the next 9 months, which amounts to $2,700. Including transportation costs to and from the clinic, as I am unable to drive due to my injuries, I am seeking a total of $3,000. This financial support will ensure I can continue receiving the treatment necessary to manage my pain and improve my quality of life.
If you feel moved to support my journey towards recovery, please consider donating via my PayPal.me link:

Your generosity would mean the world to me and provide the lifeline I desperately need.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can provide.

Subject: Need Help to Overcome a Difficult Time
Hello,
I am reaching out to you today because I am going through an extremely difficult time. My family and I are struggling with heavy debts, and despite all our efforts, my husband’s salary and my small earnings are not enough to cover our basic needs.
In addition to these financial difficulties, I have health issues that require medical tests, which I cannot afford. But what weighs on me the most is my daughters’ future. Like any mother, I want to give them a proper education and a better future, but right now, I am struggling to provide even the bare minimum for them.
I am on this site today because I have exhausted all my options. I never wanted to ask for help, but today, I have no other choice. Any small support, in any form, could make an immense difference in my life and that of my family.
I would be eternally grateful to those who can help me lighten this burden. May God bless you for your generosity and compassion.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my message.

A bed for my Children
Hello everyone,
I am the mother of four children and we’re going through an extremely difficult time, unable to feed ourselves properly and pay our bills. I lost my job 10 months ago and I am trying as hard as I can to find another. But my efforts have been in vain so far. Recently, my apartment was infested by bedbugs, which destroyed all our beds and mattresses, as well as our furniture. I gave everything I had to have a company come and disinfect the apartment, which was no longer liveable and endangering the children’s health. I have nothing left and I am appealing to your generosity to help me buy new beds for the children, who currently sleep on the floor. I’d also like to buy a second-hand utility vehicle to deliver mail and light parcels. A sum of €20,000 would help me achieve all these goals and help me regain my financial independence so I can take care of my family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Best regards,
Attorney fund for Thomas
Hello everyone. My name is Sabrina and I am here on behalf of my boyfriend Thomas. Thomas is currently in jail on an $80,000 cash bond for an assault 2nd charge that was not done on purpose.
He’s in jail because of his ex best friend putting something in his drink that caused him to act not himself. His ex friend had cut the oil line on his truck. In which, an argument had occurred and he was arrested because of what his ex friend had done. The ex best friend was not arrested and was allowed to go home freely.
I’m trying to raised money for an attorney. The court appointed attorney is not trying to help him and keep giving him the run around.
I found an attorney that will represent him and his retainer fee is $5,000. I’m trying to raised enough money for the attorney to be able to get Thomas out of jail and $3,000 for his mortgage and other bills ($8,000 total).
Thomas is an amazing, caring, devoted, loyal and a wonderful human being who would never harm anyone intentionally or on purpose. He is hardworking and have been working at his manufacturer job for 19 years. He is a great person to be around and so dearly loved and will give you his last dollar.
Thomas has been in jail since February 8th, 2025. His court date was March 10th, 2025 and the judge will not release him from jail. This is his first time being in jail and his mental health is starting to deteriorate rapidly. He has apologize and deeply regret for everything that happen.
I’m asking for $8,000.
Attorney retainer fee – $5,000
Mortgage and bills. – $3,000
If you can find it in your heart to donate, I really would appreciate your blessings and kindness and have a blessed day.
Thank you….

Seeking Support During a Difficult Time
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We are reaching out in a moment of great hardship, hoping for a little support as we navigate one of the most challenging times in our lives. Recently, we suffered the devastating loss of my mother-in-law. As anyone who has lost a loved one knows, funeral expenses can be overwhelming, and unfortunately, we were unprepared for the financial burden that came with saying our goodbyes.
To cover the costs, my husband and I were left with no choice but to sell his work truck—the very vehicle he relied on for his job. It was an incredibly difficult decision, as it not only meant parting with something he worked so hard for, but it also meant sacrificing his ability to earn a living. Without the truck, he has been unable to continue working, which has placed an immense financial strain on us.
In addition to selling the truck, we had to withdraw money from my 401k just to help cover the remaining expenses. This has left us in an even more precarious situation, as those savings were meant to secure our future, not be a last resort to get through today. Despite our best efforts to keep up, we have now fallen behind on our mortgage and household bills, and we are facing the harsh reality of not knowing how we will catch up.
Living in rural Wyoming presents its own challenges. Job opportunities are scarce, and without reliable transportation, my husband has been unable to find work that doesn’t require long-distance commuting. The stress of this situation has been overwhelming, and while we are doing everything we can to get back on our feet, we are in urgent need of help to get through this difficult time.
We never imagined having to ask for assistance, but right now, we have nowhere else to turn. If you are able to offer any support—whether it be financial help, job leads, or simply sharing our story—we would be forever grateful. Every little bit makes a difference, and we appreciate any kindness sent our way.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and from the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate your compassion and generosity.
God bless you all.

Please Help!!! Combat Veteran Going to Be Homeless
I, George Quinney, born in November of 1976, I’m a 90% disabled combat veteran who served 16 years in the Marine Corps from 1997 to 2013. After his honorable service, I transitioned to a career in the tech side petroleum industry, where I worked primarily with computers, from 2013 until facing significant employment challenges due to the previous administrations actions. A proud husband to my wife, Alexa, and father to our four children—Justin (age 2), Tiffany (age 4), Connor (age 15), and Lauren (age 16)—We have faced mounting financial and personal hardships in recent years.
Following my military service, I leaned on his skills and resilience to provide for my family. However, prolonged periods of unemployment—9 months in 2023, 7 months in 2024, and 3 months in 2025—have absolutely drained my savings entirely. Now, I am relying solely on my VA pension and credit cards to support his family of six. The VA pension, while a lifeline for disabled veterans like me, is calculated based on his 90% disability rating and family size, but it has proven insufficient to cover rising costs, especially with young children and teenagers at home. My petroleum industry job, once stable, has not provided the security we hoped for, leaving us vulnerable during these gaps in employment.
Compounding these struggles, Me and my family recently learned our landlord will not renew their lease, threatening our housing stability. They are requesting we move out within these next six weeks. With no savings left and credit card debt accumulating, We face an uncertain future. The VA offers benefits like disability compensation, health care through CHAMPVA for dependents, and potential housing assistance via the VA Home Loan Guaranty program, but navigating these resources can be daunting under such immediate time sensitive pressure. My situation reflects the challenges many veterans encounter post-service—balancing pride in their sacrifices with the harsh realities of financial strain.
For us, immediate steps could include contacting the VA for emergency assistance, such as the Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program (VRRAP) for job retraining in high-demand fields, or seeking aid from veteran support organizations like the VFW or DAV. These programs have been contacted with no help available due to not qualifying or extended timelines that will not work. With a family depending on me, my Marine Corps grit will be tested anew as I fight to secure stability in an unforgiving civilian landscape. Time is critical, and community support could be the difference between recovery and collapse for my family. We are requesting help for the ability to move. Covering a first and last months rent along with deposit and moving costs for rental trucks and hiring services. Do to my injuries I’m not able to move furniture or heavy items.
I don’t like doing this! But at this point, I feel I have exhausted all my possible options and any level of support will be supremely heartfelt in appreciation
Complicated financial situation
Hello all readers,
I’d like to introduce my current situation: I’m a 27-year-old man living in France, and I find myself stuck in a cycle I can’t seem to escape. I’m €1,000 short every month due to poor management and self-mistakes.
However, I’m now trying to get out of it on my own, but the debts I’ve accumulated are preventing me from doing so. I quit smoking to save money, cut my expenses as much as possible, and I’m doing everything in my power to get back on my feet.
I’ve never dared ask for help because I’m ashamed of it, and a friend recommended I try this kind of platform to appeal to human generosity.
To date, my debts total €30,000. This sum could reset my accounts to zero, and I hope to have an additional €20,000 to properly get back on track.
Thank you for reading to the end. I’ll post my PayPal link right here.

ABANDONED
My husband Abandoned us leaving us with nothing!
After 12 years of marriage he said he was going to the mountains for 2 days with his brother-in-law and never returned.
He moved to another state, left all his belongings behind, changed his phone number and email and blocked all of our family on all social media platforms.
Two weeks later I found out through family he had a new girlfriend.
The worst part about his abandonment is he left behind his only child. My Stepdaughter! I’m the only mama she has left and have always been here for her. That will never change!
Her mother passed away from a drug overdose years ago and therefore I stepped up to the plate. His leaving her behind is devastating to her to say the least.
We’ve been married for 12 years and just bought our “supposed” Dream Home, our “Forever Home” that we would retire in.
He emptied all the bank accounts, disconnected the utilities, canceled the car insurance and left me with all the debt. Literally everything!
He’s been dealing with his mental health for a significant amount of time. Over the last 4 years he’s become aggressive, mean and very distant and last April he physically violated me for the first time. The entire family has encouraged him to get mental health care but he refused.
He left me with a pile of debt and I am drowning. This last year he started having me use my credit cards for things with the promise they would be paid off at the end of the year. But he transferred all of our money out of our accounts.
He left November 27th right before the holidays and left me with those responsibilities alone.
I am managing a 2-acre property with horses, goats, ducks and geese and dogs and cats, alone with my stepdaughter. I do have family that helps occasionally but we are managing mostly just the two of us.
I am working but it’s limited. I have a private home studio hair salon where I work part-time.
I had a back injury and a neck surgery that caused nerve damage a couple of years ago so I had to lessen my workdays to part-time. Up until then. I was a full-time Independent contractor. Now I barely make enough to meet our basic needs let alone pay for the huge debt he left me.
I was completely blindsided by this so I couldn’t prepare for it
I am behind on some utilities but they are working with me until I can catch up. Credit card interest rates are so high they are killing me. I’m basically just making the minimum (when I can.) I have managed to pay the car insurance in advance with a tax return, our groceries are limited but we’re fed and have meat in the freezer. Fuel for the cars is hit and miss so we’re planning out trips to town accordingly and utilities are always late. The gas bill is not paid. I’m managing to feed the animals but it’s such a struggle because of the credit cards. If I could get those paid off I would save an extra $1,700 a month which would be life-changing.
My credit is being severely affected by late payments and I’m worried because when things are settled after our divorce I’m going to need my credit to rely on to purchase a new home or rent some place to live. In October of 2024 I had a 760 credit score, Now it’s 580.
I do have an attorney now. My father has been able to afford to help me with that but nothing more.
My attorney assures me I’m eligible for spousal support but it will be a while before I will see that and it may not cover enough of the debt or bills. And of course we’ll have to split the debt, but he has Credit card debt (I’ve now discovered) of his own that will only balance the scale. I’m stuck either way.
My husband is taking my daughter’s social security money, because as her “rep payee” he is the recipient for her since she’s a minor. He’s spending it for himself and his needs.
He’s quit paying the mortgage so I’m certain we are going to lose this home because I cannot afford the mortgage on my own.
Because I don’t have any legal authority over my stepdaughter, I’m not entitled to her monthly social security money (from her mother’s death) and I’m also not eligible for child support.
All of this being said… I’m stress to the max, BUT I’m a fighter and I will do my best to not let this destroy us. I will be here for her and I will fight for the sanctity of a secure home. I’m not quitter, I just need help.
When I came into this relationship I had a lot of money, when I got sick and needed to rely on him and his income he left. That’s the only way I can explain it now.
They say what God brings you to he will bring you through, … A YouTube video for this page popped up the other day and it hit me like a ton of rocks. I thought to myself, maybe this is the answer that will help us. My faith in God will never waver and I know he has a better plan for us. Ultimately. It’s just really hard right now to see the end result. My heart is broken and I’m still in shock this had happened. Like a tornado he just ripped my entire life away from us and left us stranded with nothing.
I desperately want to protect her from any lack of normality. I don’t want her to be affected or embarrassed by things because I can’t pay for something we need. Whatever it may be. On top of her Dad leaving her! She’s been through enough tragedy in her lifetime!
I’m very embarrassed to be asking for a handout but I am desperate. I’ve come to the realization I’m going to have to get rid of our animals… The dogs and cats are easy to keep but the horses are expensive. The sad part is the animals are the one thing that brings us joy in this crappy time.
If anyone is interested in helping, I want to make you a promise that I will pay it forward when things level out and I am back on track. I have always been a giver and very generous to those in need. You have my word and a pinky swear on that.
To anyone who read this far, thank you so much for taking the time and for your consideration in this matter. I am beyond humbled and grateful for any and all help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Always Aloha and God Bless Y’all🌸 Andrea
*My overall debt is $36,000 in credit card debt. Part of that is Amazon which I’m using to purchase things that we need. But I am very close to maxed out.
If I can pay that that off it will save me roughly 1700 a month which will be a huge help.
Thank you Again!

Please Help me save my loving parents’ family home
Dear friends and benefactors,
Today, it is with great emotion that I appeal to your solidarity.
The house of my loving parents, this refuge full of memories and history, is about to be sold to finance the EHPAD (retirement home) where my mom now lives. Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to finance this purchase, nor to obtain a bank loan.
My parents are French “Pieds-Noirs” from Sidi Bel Abbès (Oran prefecture) when Algeria was French, and have worked hard all their lives. In 1962, when Algeria became independent from France, they lost everything and were forced to leave their homeland, leaving behind their home, their belongings, their memories and the fruits of their labor. In spite of everything, with strength and courage, they rebuilt their lives in France.
My Papa left us in 2009, leaving this house as the last witness to his struggle and his love for us. Today, my mom can no longer live here, and the idea of seeing the few things they still own disappear breaks my heart. This house is more than just walls: it’s a symbol of their history, their sacrifices and all the love they’ve given.
To preserve it and carry out the necessary work, I need 350,000 euros. It’s a huge sum, and I can’t do it alone.
If you can help me, even with a small gesture, every donation will be a beacon of hope in this ordeal. Together, we could preserve this home that has meant so much to my parents and to me.
Thank you so much for your support, your sharing and your generosity.

Need $10k to be a contributing member of society again
Hurricane Beryl was the beginning of my financial hardship, I just relocated to Texas from California for work. ( I do have a job) The storm knocked down trees that cost money to remove, repair damages, etc… then in an attempt to keep my 13 year old American Bulldog from overheating I went in search of a hotel. There were NONE with any vacancies. So I was at a rest st0p trying to lure my dog back into the car in the pouring rain and water caused my car to become stuck in PARK. Now my car was immobilized. I had it towed to the dealership and didnt know that the service advisors worked on commission therefore believing them on the things they said needed repair I ended up paying $5400. When I go to get the car after they had It for 2 months the left headlight was out. It was working when it was towed in. So they refused to repair saying they didnt break it, I said fix it, they said it would be $5000. I said no way. So I left, now I needed to register my car in Texas, get my drivers license, which you cant do without registering a vehicle that’s in your name. SO I took the car to a different dealer, they told me that one of the items I had paid to repair, needed repair, and they confirmed the headlight was actually $4990. (I can provide proof of all of this if you want) so now my car is ready to be picked up and I cant afford to pay for it. So while all this was going on my sweet Maddie dog got these huge lumps on her, I spent THOUSANDS at the vet and ended up having to put her down anyway. I am 2 months behind on rent and I am paying for a rental car and drowning. I would be happy even if someone was willing to loan me money to help me get my head above water then I can start paying this down but right now everything is so urgent, im about to be homeless and no car to even lie my stupid little head. Yeah, Im sure there are better stories on here, but this is the honest truth and I am just looking for a little help, which I ALWAYS pay it forward so I thought maybe if I actually ask for help someone may offer it and that would be amazing, to actually be able to breath again, its something I cant even imagine right now I am losing badly because I am late on all my payments so my credit is being hit, this is a downward spiral. So any help is greatly appreciated. A loan is preferable so that I am able to pay you back, I would feel better about that as opposed to just taking a hand out. Thanks for your consideration.
