Death of a father due to cancer, widow chased out of the family house, family in distress and financial struggles.

In 2013 my father Eng. Maccerlino may his soul rest in peace was first diagnosed with gastrointestinal tumor (GIST) a form of cancer that affects the intestines/stomach, we went to a number different public and private hospitals for treatment and ultimately the doctors recommended that the tumor be cut off  and tested for cancer they we were sent to a private hospital called Paragon hospital in Bugolobi Kampala  where this treatment and operation was done this was very costly but as a family we were ready to have this operation done.

From 2013 up to 2020 my father was in and out of hospital trying to manage the cancer however with all our efforts and the treatment he final passed on the 11th of August 2020 it was at 7:25pm at the Mulago cancer institute Kampala Uganda he was pronounced dead the cause of death was the GIST cancer and pneumonia and that was the beginning of all our family problems and financial crisis.

After his death we spent a lot of money clearing his hospital bill before the hospital could release his body to us, we further incurred more costs paying for funeral expenses during and after his burial after his passing we realized he had left unpaid bank loan of 200million Uganda shillings at Centenary bank Kampala we had to clear this bank loan with interest because he was above the insurable age.

Our stepbrother Nicholas also went ahead and put a Cavet in court to block our application to get letters of probate he is challenging our father’s Will because he wasn’t named as a heir in the said Will, and this infuriated him as the eldest son he believes that he is the only that deserves to inherit our fathers’ things. (This is an African mentality some people have) because of this he manipulated the Clan leaders to support him in his barbarism the case is currently at the high court which also requires a good amount of money to pay for the Servies of a good lawyer.

Our stepbrother immediately started to fight for the family property my father had 2 wives and had built a semi -detached house one side for my mother and her children the other side was for my stepmother and her children. Now  my step brother called Nichlous odgong decided to break the wall that was separating the 2 houses to make it one house so as to claim it as his own house , and threw out my old mother and her children out of the house in the process he destroyed our property and without mercy threw out our Funiture, tv and fridge and cooking things and our belonging claiming the house is his and he wants us out, my mother cried out heart to God and to her late husband in pain as our stepbrother Nicholus took pleasure in seeing her pain he laughed at us and took a video of my crying mother falling on the ground helplessly. (imagine this is our own stepbrother doing all this)

We reported the issue to the local police of the area who arrested him and was charged with 1. Malicious damage 2. Trespass 3. Melding with the Estate of the deceased.  but was released on bond after 2 days ,The police in Gulu asked him to stop what he was doing but he still refused, the government then took up the case with the DPP Office of the (director of public prosecutions) in Uganda the case has been going on well, however he went and bribed one of the officer InCharge of the case we were shocked to recently find out the case was closed for luck of evidence which reason is not valid enough because sufficient evidence on the file. we current need money to hire a lawyer for this case expedite this case privately.

This is the worse time of my life and my family especially my mother. we are hardworking people  i have 2 younger brothers and 3 sisters we current live in a small, rented house in Kanyanya Uganda,

Because of this we lost our business which we were doing in the capital of Kampala since our expenses was more than my income from the business  i couldn’t pay rent anymore, and ultimately i wasn’t able to rent the shop anymore so the business came to an end, i have currently decided to sell my products online and on social media flat forms which is not as effective as having a physical location, also as a family we have since adjusted our life style we eat one meal a day we struggle with paying for rent since we were thrown out of our fathers house.

I therefore kindly request for financial help of 150,000US dollars that will be able facilitate legal fees to settle this family dispute, cover housing rent  for atleast one year as we recover and also establish back our business so that we can get back to our feet and give my family a fresh start.

Young Man off the street in a halfway house, sober, getting his life together

Hi, I figured this was worth a shot. Anyway I go by Jay. I’m 32 years young. I have a few months sober, clean from crack and fentanyl. I was an intravenous user and have used on and off for the past 12 years. I had been sober before, actually up until about 18 months ago. I had had almost 3 years sober. I had made a good life for myself. gotten a nice apartment, fixed my license and bought a car. I even started a very lucrative business detailing boats, buying all my tools and even hiring a few people. I usually had 5 grand on me at any given time. I focused all my time and energy on this business. As a result I became complacent with my recovery and stopped doing the things that were helping me stay sober like going to meetings, going to my doctors or mental health programs.

It started with a little bit of drinking. I would show up to meet customers with a buzz to help with the anxiety and fear that came along with meeting new people and maintaining those customer relationships. I’m sure some of them even noticed. It wasn’t long before I met a girl and I was into her. But she was into drugs. It was just a matter of time before I was right there with her using. My work ethic and business slowly became less of a priority to me. before long I spent all my savings that I had acquired from the business. It wasn’t long before I began to sell my belongings and it wasn’t long before I lost the apartment that I had worked so hard for. Suffice to say boat owners don’t take too kindly to the fact that they have a junkie working on their boat and it was a matter of time before all the surrounding marinas knew about it

. It was just my girl, myself and the car. my girlfriend had panhandled before and offered to do it to help. It helped but it wasn’t enough. It was never enough. Now, I had never done anything like panhandle before but as you can guess I was right there with her doing the same. I was quite scarred at first but eventually it didn’t matter how I felt as it became necessary for me to not be dope sick every morning. Many moments of desperation had brought me to a point to sell the car to one of our drug dealers. I remember he gave me 500 dollars, 200 in crack, 100 in fentanyl/heroin. It was that day that we REALLY became homeless. With those drugs I ended up overdosing and almost dying that night. It was terrifying to say the least. I remember the paramedics in the ambulance asking me when my birthday was and who my family was to so that they could identify me. I was struggling to think of the answers to those questions while in a daze and became terrified that I had brain damage asking the paramedics over and over if that was the case without realizing I was doing so. I eventually recovered and went right back to where my girlfriend was. It wouldn’t be the last overdose.

after that it was a series of unfortunate events whilst hopping from abandoned house/building to the next. We had people almost shoot us. We seen a friend of ours overdose. He had died two weeks later to being brain dead and his mother had to pull the plug. He was 34. His name was chucky. I’m the one that found him unresponsive. A lot of shit had happened. They aren’t uncommon occurrences in the street either. Its traumatizing. Without writing a book on this website Ill just say…what brought me to get sober again was another overdose that almost killed me again, I got into rehab. I never did have any closure with my girlfriend. the last time I seen her was about 4 months ago when she got dropped off at rehab herself. I miss her but I know I need to work on myself. She has persistently tried to reach out to me but I haven’t returned her calls. I hope she gets help. I know she wants to stay together, I just cant right now if want any shot at this thing. I also don’t blame her for the choices I have made.

I live in a halfway house now and am doing great. I’ve gotten back to my meetings and am currently doing everything I was before but more. when I sold my car to the dealer, he never changed the title over and the car racked up parking tickets until the city towed it. So I know ive got some fines there. I also wanted to buy my tools back for the boat detailing business to try and get that going. that isnt as important as winter is coming sooner than we think. I’m also an incredibly talented atrist. I draw realistic portraits in color pencil and soft pastel. You can see examples of my work on instagram. the profile name is jakeapop and the profile pic is a drawn side view self portrait with a black hat on. like one of those goofy artist hats. as if now its got 115 followers if you find it. anyway I am passionate about art and hope to get professional art supplies once again. all in all, Im glad I could share a sliver of my story with you and would be incredibly grateful for any help I recieve. thank you and may god bless you.

Super Garden Volunteer Needs to Hold Off Social Security Until 70

When I’m 70 my Social Security figure will cover my modest expenses and way of life. I’m 68 and a half now. My sister and brothers never made as much as I did, so I can’t fall back on them. I just want to be able to continue my intensive volunteering at a nearby garden.

I always planned to work until I was 70. The museum where I was a constant freelancer always kept older people as long as they wanted to work, and I was counting on that. Unfortunately, museum cut-backs from huge losses during the Covid pandemic have been extreme, and this has essentially forced me to retire early. There will not be a turn-around there any time soon. I’ve been very careful about spending and I’ve looked hard for work, but I’ve run through all my savings now. No one is hiring 68-year-olds, no matter what the news says.

For the past 30 years, I’ve been a constant volunteer at a large community garden, caring for a collection of rare trees, training young people, and keeping the garden open to the public. In the spring, we often have over 500 visitors a day, a bit less when the bulbs have finished blooming and people start going away for the weekend. We have a constant dog parade from our neighbors who walk through. Our 90 large and small trees are famous locally, and their care is my main project, along with teaching new members and high-school kids how to prune them. Recently, I had the parent of twins I’ve watched grow up ask if they could do their senior community-service project with me. Of course the answer was yes.

Every week while I was working at the museum I often also spent from 10 to 20 hours at the garden, except during rush times at the end of a project. Since I stopped getting any freelance work, I usually spend 30 hours a week as group head and primary gardener. All I want to do is to continue volunteering there.

My monthly expense is $1,800 and I’m 20 months away from 70, so I need $26,000 to reach my best Social Security figure. Without help now, I’ll only have $200 a month after very basic bills. If I can make 70, I’ll have $400 a month over rent and utilities, plenty enough for me. With that, I could volunteer in peace at the garden for all the years ahead. I just need to bridge the gap to 70.

Need Digital Hearing Aids

My name is James I’m 46 years old born with a severe hearing impairment.  I have a family with one son he’s aged 11.

My education is OK but I did struggle due to my hearing impairment. Hearing aids aren’t great neither are they any better nowadays. I did go to uni but didn’t quite make it due to my struggles.

When I left uni I worked at my dad’s place for a month doing solicitor searches for a water company. It was good. Then I went to try other jobs my dad was made redundant. So I followed him he went into teaching and he managed to get me into teaching. So I taught IT at college aimed at 14 to 19 year old students.

It was stressful and difficult for me. So I decided to leave, tried market research met alot of people all over the country asking for everyone’s opinions for the surveys. After a few years of knocking doors in all the weather’s for peanut crap money I was made redundant without a job.

Struggled to find work for nearly a year eventually got into bus driving. I’ve been on the buses for nearly 10 years.

Now it’s time to move on I need a new approach in life better lifestyle and more money to enjoy all the things I’ve missed out on.

My pledge is to raise £2000 so I can put towards the cost of 2 digital hearing aids from a reputable company. Any donation you can financially give I will appreciate every peny very much. God bless you.

Disabled mother seeks funding to turn a hobby into a business

Hello,

My name is Melissa Cogley and I have been struggling with mental illness for the last 20 years. After getting the covid vaccination I lost feeling in both of my legs. I was diagnosed with neuropathy. There is no cure so I have been learning how to live again.  I am a mother of 2 children and cannot work so I have no way of contributing to my family which is what a mother should be doing. I have not been able to work and I am disabled. Not being able to walk very well has made life hard but I push through everyday. With my disabilities it has made it hard to enjoy life and I became very depressed . I looked to find a hobby so I can stay active. I started making wax melts and soap infused sponges. I decided to sell them on facebook and formed a following. Now I am faced with staying where I am or pushing to grow it. I have a set small income from being disabled and really need money so I can try and make a business out of this to give myself and my family a future.  I have a garage that could renovate and use to house a business. It is old and needs a lot of work. I am glad that the roof does not leak. I am afraid that I might fail but strive to push forward. I will take any donations that will  go directly to building a future for myself. I will use the money to buy supplies that I need to continue to make my product. Material and supplies are so expensive and with the current economy it is hard to get what I need. It is hard on a fixed income every month and feel as I am getting no where fast. Any and all help would greatly be appreciated. I was not fortunate to have kept my mobility but I will look to press on. I look forward to meeting the many nice people out there who are more fortunate than myself who are willing to share what they have to help someone get somewhere in life. Again I appreciate any and all help that is offered. I have attached a link for direct donations below.
