I used to work alot.back in 2019 I moved to Portland Oregon with $350 and a suitcase trying to figure out a plan to change my life and make it. I was successful

 I got enrolled in the Northwest college of construction. While living homeless in the streets I went to class diligently while working temp jobs until I got a job in the construction field. After 3 months I finally did. I started making 25ph plus a $15 pH fringe. It was life changing. 6 months into working covid hit making my company lay off a number of employees due to social distancing standards. I received unemployment until the end of the summer of 2020 where I started working for a moving company and then traffic control. In November of 2021 a friend I went to college with in Arizona in 2009 told me about a job offer working through favorite staffing contracted with OSHA making $75 ph 60 hrs a week all I had to do was get my OSHA 30. I spent the money and took the class and got certified. The only thing is they required me to be fully vaccinated by my first day of work and I had less than a month to do it. So I took the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The next day I was sick as can be but I recovered I just got a cough that never went away. 14 days later the cough got progressively worse and I started spitting up a red mucus. This was the day before Thanksgiving 2021. For 3 days I continued to deal with the cough and shortness of breath trying to make it from Portland Oregon to Springfield IL where the job was so I can begin working. My first day of work which was a Sunday I went in and my bosses told me because of the coughing I had to go to the hospital to get it checked to make sure I didn’t have covid. So I went and I didn’t have covid but my lungs were 80 percent fluid. I was put into an induced coma for 4 days to wake up and find out I had extreem heart failure. Because of this favorite staffing decided to terminate my position keep in mind I just left everything from Portland Oregon to get there. So now with no job no home and a new medical problem my mother suggested for me to come home which is Grand rapids Michigan. I came home for her to tell me I couldn’t live with her because of her husband so I rented a room from a friend of mine. I went 6 months without working realizing that wasn’t going to work out I got a job working traffic control in Michigan. After a couple of months of working my heart was taking a toll after all I have an injection fracture of 15 percent. Because of this my job had a medical team look at me and said I can not work for MDOT with a injection fracture that low so a week before Thanksgiving they let me go.  That December I got a pacemaker and difibulator installed to my heart. So I filled for disability. I finally received it in the end of October 2023 however a week after my 35th birthday on November 14 I went in for a heart Cath and I was admitted in the hospital again. 2 days later I was told I have stage end heart failure. The only option they gave me to live was a LVAD ( Left Ventricular assistant device) but part of it was making me move in with someone who would help make sure I recovered well so my mother volunteered for me to stay with her causing tension between her husband and me. While I was in heart surgery all my stuff was moved against my will out of my friends apartment into my mother’s house and where I am grateful for the assistance now the time of me living there is up. I really need help getting my car fixed affording my own place at least a down deposit granted a year of rent would be great because of my heart condition finding a job is difficult no heavy lifting I’m not allowed to be near electrical currents like no jumping cars I was even told vacuuming I’m not supposed to do because of static electricity. If I find a job I have to only work part time unless it is a good career that will support me the rest of my life but it must have good health benefits and the ability for me to make all my constant doctors appointments. Right now I’m just trying to lose weight so I can get on the heart transplant list. Once I get a new heart I can go back to living my life and working but until then I’m kinda stuck. I only have another 40lbs to lose before I can get on the list but only time can tell how long it will be before I can get a heart. Please help me I have never really asked for help before but right now at this stage in my life I need it my goal would be $100,000 because I know it would keep me alive and ok for at least 5 years while I wait to get a heart which I hope by then I get because the LVAD has an average life expectancy of 5 to 7 1/2 years. Single Mom Needs Help Catching Up

Hello I am a single Mom of 2 beautiful daughters,  I am a blue collar worker but have managed to raise my girls solely on my income.  I have successfully put my oldest daughter through  college and she is thankfully financially independent.  I am currently putting my youngest thru college and need assistance to catch up with expenses that have fallen into arrears (my job cut our overtime for 2 months).  I work full time with overtime every week (4 O/T  days by-weekly) This usually carries us,  but I am struggling to catch up.  My youngest daughter is highly intelligent  and has received her Bachelor’s Degree and is currently working on her PhD,  (she’s too smart not to) she works (low paying job) which helps with her expenses but the bills fall on me. I’ve fallen for a SCAM and it affects my elderly Mother…Help me fix it please

I fell for a task scam. I didn’t find out it was a scam until after doing everything that was required, the money that was promised, well didn’t happen because it’s a scam. You can find out more about these on Reddit, which is where I found out that I’d been scammed. Now after I found this out, I also found on Reddit supposed recovery hackers that state they can help you recover what you have already been scammed out of. I trusted Reddit, like a fool. Yes I realize that I have doubly been a complete idiot and got scammed twice.

I need to go back to how this all happened. I am in my mid-fifties and have been struggling financially, emotionally for 9 years now, since I lost my partner in late 2015. In 2022 I found myself out of work and desperately looking for work. Sadly, ageism is real and after 6 months and 60 applications (even applying to goodwill as an associate- seriously looking for anything) and still no job. I decided I needed to go back to school and try and reinvent myself in a new career. I obtained my estheticians license in late 2023, and again applying to find work, and again was struggling to get hired anywhere. So I struck out on my own. My 77 year old mother decided to help me by opening a credit card and putting me on it as an authorized user.

I had worked hard to build my own credit for many many years, but in 2022 with not being able to find work, I couldn’t keep up and my credit score went into the toilet in mere months.

Struggling to get the business up and running I have been keeping my eye out for odd jobs anywhere I could find. I saw an ad running on Instagram for a job. This turned out to be the task scam. I now see these ads everywhere, now that I know what they are and report them every time I see them. They’re in Facebook marketplace, Instagram, and I’m sure so many more.. they’re literally everywhere.

I used the cash advance on the credit card in the task scam and then the recovery scam, I used simply the credit available.

My shame has been quite overwhelming because the balance now is so great that it is affecting my mother’s credit, and she is retired living on social security.

If all of this was only affecting me, I wouldn’t be here asking. My home, which is a 20 year old motorhome I purchased last year with money I received from the sale of my apartment, which I couldn’t afford to keep. I felt it was the cheapest way I could live given my situation over the last couple of years. I purchased a thousand trails membership and with that I am able to stay a few weeks at a time, then I dry camp the time I need to be out, then start over again the cycle.

It’s not ideal but it has kept a roof over my head.

Since being scammed I have seriously considered selling the motorhome to pay off the balance and just become homeless. It’s the only thing I own of real value. I am still trying very hard to get my esthetician business off the ground and that will continue.

But what is most important to me now is fixing this debt. My mother trusted me and I feel I have let her down. One can wonder how someone can fall for these scams, but as you see here from my own admission, it happens when one is desperate. That is how they get you.

My mother isn’t angry with me, she knows how trusting I am, but this is stressing her terribly and affecting her health, which scares me. I am fortunate to still have her and I want to be here for her. Not be a burden to her and a source of shame and embarrassment.

Please. Any help anyone can do will be truly appreciated. 

The scammers got about $10,000. 5k with the first task scam, and 5k with the recovery scam. If anyone needs proof, I’ve got it. I took screenshots of all the pages in the task scam, including their supposed “terms and conditions”, as well as all communication with the recovery scammer.

Urgent: My Passport and the Importance of Being with My Wife in Ukraine

<span;>I am writing to express my urgent concern about my  troubles as to getting my passport. My wife, Svetlana, lives in Ukraine, a country that has been facing significant challenges and instability. After we was married.

<span;>The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has created a perilous environment for civilians. My wife is experiencing immense stress and anxiety due to the constant threat of violence and uncertainty. Her safety and well-being are my top priorities, and I believe that my presence by her side would provide her with much-needed comfort and support.

I understand that there may be a backlog of applications, but  My wife’s emotional state is deteriorating rapidly, and I fear that her mental health may be at risk if I am unable to be there for her.

I am here to see about if I can get the necessary funds available to pay just in case that is why my passport is being held up. The most important thing is for me to get there with my wife.

I hope you can understand the urgency of my situation. My wife needs my support now more than ever. Being able to be with her would provide her with a sense of security and hope during these challenging times. It would also allow me to assist her in navigating the complexities of the situation and making plans for our future together. This money isn’t for her, it is to be used for travel and to pay for any expenses just in case that is what is being held up for my passport. Please please I am willing to do anything for the help to pass this transition to be able to get to my wife. Willing to do anything.

Mental & Financial Abuse

I don’t yet know where I’ll be staying coming this week but it won’t be here, anymore! I turned 65 on Sept 11, 24, & I’m ending my battle with a cold, loveless, belittling narcissist who I caught maliciously gossiping about me, with the sister who hates him, who stole his inheritance (reported to Law Enforcement), premeditated & physically carried-out her steps to eliminate their mother over her jealousy of the attention my partner was getting! She succeeded & got away with matricide! Siblings of a feather protect each other! My anxiety has manifested into massive plaque psoriasis, bite marks on my tongue from stress, I suffer from missing & jagged molars & I suspect that I have psoriatic arthritis! I can’t afford medical care at this point! I loaned my brother $800 12 yrs ago but he’s selfish & gave me $250 2 years ago! When my car had safe brakes, got free books from my library & sold on them on eBay! A few dollars here & there covered my bank overdraft fees! I’ve been paying the $975-1,025 rent by personal check monthly for 6 1/2 yrs leaving me broke & panicky! My net monthly income is $1,453. My partner has been borrowing cash from his many credit cards & repays them monthly with his Soc Sec & pension benefits! I believe that $6,000. will cover 1st month’s rent & security deposit, moving expenses, furniture & appliances, decor, clothing, my car brakes repaired, car insurance & plate! Please support me with tuition and help me meet my potential

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to go through my post out of the many other people who also need financial assistance.

My story may not be something new because this is a story for quite a few international students moving countries for a better chance at life and to fully take on the role of someone who is expected to help make a difference in their society, family or country through education. That’s exactly me and this time all the odds just weren’t in my favour.

I have been a severely Type A kid since whenever I had the chance to be responsible, maybe at age 7. Always on track, getting everything done, meeting deadlines weeks before they’re due and knowing when to ask for help. I didn’t think I’d be one of the probable majority of students transitioning into university who were hit with so many changes that they go off track a little. In my case this would be mentally because it’s gotten much worse for me and my disassociation to a level of it bringing on memory issues and having me socially backing out. I have been working jobs and doing relatively well in school so I don’t know where I went wrong but if I reach out to family back home, I have to make them aware about my mental well-being and reach out time and again for additional support, which they’ve already invested so much by sending me abroad for education.

I have been trying to fix my mental health and seeking support amongst friends finally, which I was hesitant about and I am still doing well in school so I don’t want to pause here or go back home and start all over again and be a burden to people there just because of lack of financial resources. Along with that, I came across some dental issues this summer which was not the best addition to my bills.

I have paid what I was able to from my summer jobs which is exactly what I wanted to be able to do for the entire amount but I’m still short some $10,000 (which is a significant amount, I am aware and feel very bad about). But I would appreciate any support even if it helps me get at a $5000 or up to $10000 total.

Left abusive relationship/financial help

I packed all my clothes into my car and drove 30 hours back home to my parents after escaping an abusive relationship.

He left me with 12k in credit card debt and is not paying me back. It’s all under my name. I am an educated smart young woman. I graduated from Roosevelt University and worked hard my whole life. I have a lot of student loan debt. Not looking for anyone to pay for that, i will do it. But I need help with the credit cards. The interest is so high and I’m having a hard time making the payments.
I moved back in with my Immigrant (legal) family. My mom makes very little hourly and my dad just lost his job. Discover Angola Through My Eyes: A Journey to My Roots

My name is Elea, I’m 37 years old, and I am of Angolan descent. However, I’ve never had the opportunity to visit my homeland. Due to financial constraints, I have never been able to set foot in the country that is such an important part of my identity.

Today, I have a family: my husband and our 3-year-old son. Now more than ever, it’s important for me to show them the beautiful country of Angola, to introduce them to where I come from, to pass on this cultural heritage, and also to explore and understand for myself the part of my history I’ve never been able to experience firsthand.

Angola represents much more to me than just a destination. It’s a journey to my roots, a deep desire to reconnect with my origins, and to share this unique moment with my loved ones. ***URGENT – Medical & Livelihood Financial Needs***

My name is Desi.  I am asking for funds to prepare for a corrective surgery in the abdominal area in October from the stomach bypass and will require at least 4 months to recover. I also have an urgent car loan and extensive repairs totaling $9,073.00 currently as a result of the high mileage placed on the car from my job as a deliverer of medical materials/supplies and driver for patients – need this by Wednesday, October 2.  Currently, my outstanding bills total $46,560.00.  For the corrective surgery and 4 months of recovery, my bills will be a grand total of $85,620.00.

I have always been challenged. But, I trust God, His process and live my life going beyond my means.  In the last few months, I have been sick, quickly lost 30 lbs. plus in a few weeks and have been unable to sleep. I am having eating and abdominal/stomach problems because of scar tissue and the obstructed area provides a small opening from my stomach bypass.  I do not have an appetite. I am scheduled to have extensive test and possibly surgery in October. I have been challenged to keep up with my medical bills, a loan and repairs of my car and monthly livelihood bills.

My story does not start just this year upon asking for your help.  It started before I was born. At birth, I was diagnosed with “arthrogryposis” (which is arthritis, polio, and visually have clubbed hands and feet with no ankles and wrist bones). As a result, I was identified as disabled, having extreme physical challenges of living a normal life with handling things with my hands and walking with my feet. From childhood to adulthood, I had millions of dollars worth of surgeries to maximize my independence.  I also had a stomach bypass as an adult to help my short and small body frame maneuver better – my weight was too heavy for my body frame. However, none of this hasn’t slowed me down at all.

As a child with a crutch or two, I played football, basketball, whatever I wanted to do. As a youth at just two years old, I served at Eastern Star Church of God & Christ as the drummer and this helped me develop a great love and appreciation for music. I played in my high school military-style marching band.  I am currently serving as the Minister of Music at my church where I have been a member for over 20 years. Then in giving back to the community and through travel, I live fully in my purpose mentoring and supporting the youth and adults in their musical endeavors.

One of my greatest accomplishments in life is building a beautiful family with a wife and two wonderful children (Dr. C’monee & Ethan).  You see, I was never supposed to be able to get married and have a child. As a result of getting married, I became ineligible to receive disability benefits.  I vowed to God and my wife that I would take care of my family, again going beyond my means.  As everyone else does, I work full time driving and picking-up/delivering medical supplies and tests, and transporting patients to/from their appointments.

My 1st wife, Monique got terminally ill with cancer and passed.  The two most beautiful and loving things that Monique did before she passed was take my last name as her own and introduce me to my 2nd wife Sonja. Sonja and I would be married 4 years after Monique passed. As I promised God and Monique, I also promised Sonja that I would take care of her.

I am in urgent need of your help. Sonja and I primarily depend on my income to sustain ourselves. I currently have:

Emergency Financial Assistance

My name is Destiny Marshall. I’m in need of immediate rental assistance. I have tried to contact multiple sources for help but all of their funds are exhausted. I have until the first to pay the balance on my rent, which is $1,958.70. That is what is due from last month that I couldn’t get help for and my October rent combined. My husband being laid off and me starting my new job after the loss of my father the bills have outweighed the income, in the beginning of him being laid off we have already exhausted our credit cards and loan options which now unfortunately have just added to our debt. In July, My husband was laid off and told he could return in 3 months but they have yet to give him his job back and due to us only having one vehicle it hasn’t been easy for him to try to find something that works with mine and the kids schedules. I was with a great company for 4 years but after loosing my father unexpectedly in July My hours were cut and so I found a job doing what I love making a little more money and closer to home. Our landlord has worked with us the last month but everywhere I try to get rental assistance from I am unfortunately being told they no longer have funds available. We are still struggling as a family of 6 with a single car and our oldest having special needs not even having room for his adaptive equipment. I just want my family to be able to sustain having a roof over our heads and having two reliable vehicles. I am writing to you today to share a personal challenge and to ask for your help. Last December, I was hospitalized due to a sudden cardiac issue. Since that life-altering event, my life has drastically changed. While I fight every day to regain some stability, my heart condition now prevents me from working as I used to.

Recently, another unforeseen event has worsened the situation: my heating system broke down, and with winter fast approaching, this has become an urgent issue. I must find a solution to repair or replace the heating system before temperatures drop further.
