Requesting assistance to retire and take care of my disabled wife full time

Hello friend,

I lost my retirement savings when I invested in a local biotechnology company. I was an inexperienced investor and fell for the CEO’s hype.

My second mistake was accepting money from Hometap for a percentage of my homes equity. I now owe Hometap $120,000 as of today. My mortgage balance is $325,000 and the combined total is $445,000.

My wife has been through the medical ringer through her life and it is very difficult to manage her care when I need to work 60 to 80 hours per week. This is also not sustainable due to the fact that I and going to be full retirement age soon.

I am 33 years old & am in need of some serious help. I sadly still live at home with my parents as I haven’t been able to move out due to financial hardships. I had a couple other jobs in the 2010s but have also went a lot of unemployed time where I have been unable to receive unemployment money. Also thanks to the pandemic I was living off of the government’s Stimulus checks which didn’t really get me far.

Back In January I lost my job unexpectedly. I was working at Ted Britt Ford and they were unable to keep me on board as my job I was doing got taken over by the computer. So I am in the process of looking for a new job but as most know the job market is not the best at the moment. I had a little bit of savings from that job but I am running out of it & could really use the help.

To help build my credit and to give me a little extra help I also opened up some basic credit cards but have been unable to pay them off due to me loosing my job.

This past year I also started going to my local dentist thanks to getting a little bit of dental insurance as I hadn’t been to a dentist in over 15 years. All though I do have the Affordable Care Act as we know dental and medical bills are very expensive these days. I would like to be able to go to a doctor as well as the dentist to get a much needed check up. If you pay me for this I will use this money for this purpose.

Dear Kind & Giving People,

First, thank you for taking the time to read my story. I’m grateful for your time. My heart aches as I look at my financial despair. I’ve focused my life decisions on my two beautiful daughters while being a single Mom for many years. I don’t know where I went wrong.

I can no longer provide the life they deserve due to years of struggling with mental & emotional issues and little to no support from their father as we separated when my daughters were 8 and 3 years old.

New Beginning’s

My name is Barbara and for the last 7 years I have suffered domestic violence.

Because of my upbringing I took it in thinking that this is normal. Over the years things have escalated and now it has turned from verbal abuse into physical abuse. I told my family and friends and all along they asked me to leave but I refused. I kept insisting that I am fighting for my marriage and that God will intervene. To be totally honest I truly believed this. I kind of still do but reality sets in every single day.

Now I feel Ashamed to even go back to my family or friends because they honestly asked me to leave so many times.

I currently do have a job but I am actively looking; I had saved up some money and moved into an apartment but bills are pilling and I am starting to feel overwhelmed. My plea is that you aid me to leave this situation once and for all and to start over.

I have lived in a women’s shelter before, and they really helped me. Right now, I have my puppy with me and as you all know some people are allergic; which makes it quite hard to find accommodation. This little puppy has honestly saved me from drowning into dark thoughts and depression. He puts a smile on my face every singe day.

If you have it in your heart any thing big or small goes along way. I would very much appreciate and I promise once i get on my feet I will pay it forward.

People keep asking me; why do people, especially women stay in an abusive situations. I honestly do not have a n answer to that because every situation is different. I only speak for myself here when i say at times it is because I felt like I am at a dead – end point. I felt cornered and kind of suffocated. I was ad still am embarrassed that people will look at me and say but we told you so . So ended up just staying to save face. So to Speak.

Asking for help for medical bills

How did it come to this?

At 47 a single mother of 3 boys aged 15,14 and 4. I have never had to ask for help before,but here I sit in the dark on a Saturday night at midnight lost confused and crying completely depleted. I have exhausted all other avenues. Applied to every known finance company ( even the dodgy ones) only to be knocked back every time. Its not that I couldn’t afford the repayments on a loan in fact I have an excellent credit score its the fact that Im a co borrower on a car loan that my partner ( now ex ) took out and I was unaware that being a co borrower even though its just on paper means I am equally liable for that debt. So fast forward to now. I am single with 3 children, unemployed due to health reasons my partner walked out 3 months ago I have used up all savings and have now reached the point of begging. Trying to Keep My Family Afloat – Please Help

I never thought I’d find myself writing something like this, but life has brought us to a place where we have no choice but to ask for help.

Before COVID, I worked full-time as a dialysis technician. It was a meaningful job that I was proud of—but like many others, I lost that job during the pandemic. Since then, I’ve been trying to rebuild. After months of applying to jobs, I received an email from a life insurance agency and saw an opportunity to start fresh. I began working as a life insurance agent in September 2024.

What I didn’t realize is how difficult it would be to get started in this field. It takes time to build a client base and earn commissions. I’m learning and improving every day, but we’re falling behind faster than I can catch up.

Trying to Stay Afloat After Losing My Job – Anything Helps Right Now

Hi everyone,

This isn’t an easy thing for me to write, but I’ve reached a point where I need to ask for help.

A few months ago, I was unexpectedly let go from my job. It was a position that aligned with my degree and something I had worked incredibly hard to land. I poured my energy into that role, only to find myself unemployed through no fault of my own. Since then, life has felt like a nonstop uphill battle.

I’ve been doing everything I can to stay afloat. I’ve been Ubering nearly every day, taking whatever odd jobs I can find—from dog walking to helping people move. I’ve even applied to jobs outside of my field, including restaurant work and retail, just to have something steady. In fact, I’ve applied to over a hundred jobs, and I can prove it. I’ve tailored my resume, written countless cover letters, and followed up every chance I got. But despite all the effort, nothing has landed yet.

The biggest weight on me right now is my student loans. I’ve fallen behind, and the pressure is getting heavier by the day. I’m not someone who shirks responsibility—I know these are my loans, my obligations. But life has thrown me off course, and now I’m just trying to catch up before things spiral even more. Right now, I’m about $3,000 behind.
