Hello,
I never thought I’d find myself writing something like this, but life has brought us to a place where we have no choice but to ask for help.
Before COVID, I worked full-time as a dialysis technician. It was a meaningful job that I was proud of—but like many others, I lost that job during the pandemic. Since then, I’ve been trying to rebuild. After months of applying to jobs, I received an email from a life insurance agency and saw an opportunity to start fresh. I began working as a life insurance agent in September 2024.
What I didn’t realize is how difficult it would be to get started in this field. It takes time to build a client base and earn commissions. I’m learning and improving every day, but we’re falling behind faster than I can catch up.
To make things harder, my husband—who has always been our main source of support—is now dealing with serious physical health issues that prevent him from working. He has always carried us, and now he’s counting on me. It breaks my heart to feel like I’m letting him down, even though I’m doing everything I can.
Right now, we are:
Behind on our mortgage payments
At risk of having our electricity shut off
Unable to afford tags for one of our cars, while the other is close to breaking down
Struggling to pay for groceries and basic necessities
About to lose our phone service, which I rely on to work and connect with clients
We are doing everything possible to stay afloat, but we’re running out of time and options. I’m not asking for a handout—I’m just asking for a chance to get through this rough patch so I can continue building my business and support my family the way they deserve.
If you’re able to help, even a small amount would make a world of difference to us. Thank you for taking the time to read my story—and for caring enough to consider helping.
With sincere gratitude,
Ashley
