I recently escaped a life-threatening domestic violence relationship and am now the primary caregiver for my 82 year-old father who has terminal heart and kidney conditions.
Due to age restrictions, I am unable to live in his home, which has made our circumstances incredibly challenging. The funds I am requesting are intended to purchase a travel trailer, which would provide a safe and stable living environment for me.
Furthermore, the same violent situation has left me in need of urgent dental care, and I am also seeking assistance for tooth repair related to these events. Securing my health and well being with safe and stable housing is the crucial first step I need to take to move forward.

These conditions create daily challenges, particularly when seeking and maintaining employment. Securing stable housing would significantly reduce my stress and provide the foundation necessary for me to manage my health and actively seek employment opportunities.
I am committed to getting back on my feet and contributing positively to the community. Once I have a safe place to live, I plan to dedicate my time to volunteering in local trash removal and recycling initiatives in inner-city neighborhoods and along nearby highways and freeways. My goal is to use this experience to not only rebuild my own life but to also give back to the world around me.

Humbly Asking for Help in a Time of Need

Greetings Kind Souls, 

I hope this  note finds everyone well. 

Writing this is not easy for me, but I find myself in a place where I must try anything and everything.  As much as I want to, I can’t give up.  So here I am reaching out and asking for help in the most extreme way possible.

Life, as it does, has taken an extremely difficult turn, and I’m trying to rebuild with very limited resources.  I never imagined I’d be in this position — older, starting over, and struggling to meet even the most basic needs. 

I have been through my share of hardships in my 62 years, as we all have, however,  I’ve never been a quitter, and I’ve always tried to move forward with my chin up, so here it goes…. 

Right now, I am in urgent need of a reliable vehicle.

I accumulated  debt from being scammed in 2019 and has really impacted every part of my life, and I have not been able to recover. I can not get a car loan of any kind.

I’m not looking for luxury — just something dependable, but of course my knees are so bad it can’t be too low or too high to get in to.  I have many needs for a vehicle, however, my main one is my many medical appointments, some being 4.5 hours away. 

I’m doing everything I can to stay hopeful, but my options are so few, and my resources so limited.

Due to husband and her father’s addictions we are literally losing everything and doesn’t seem that the law truly understands the safety issues of living like this because they are just not helpful or make the situation worse. My daughter is autistic and has come so far with behavior and social skills that she finally doesn’t even have a special ed classification. But due to his manipulation just to play a mental game that shouldn’t be played with children involved he is slowly messing with routines and changing things that mess up her whole schedule. Just telling her to shower at a different time messes her up and he does it on purpose because he can. Hi everyone!

My job relocated me and my children to a new state where we know absolutely nobody. Two weeks in they let a bunch of us go. I went ahead and found myself two jobs however those jobs didn’t start immediately so I couldn’t pay my rent. On top of this all, I was unable to make my car payment. Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my request. I never thought I would be in a position where I would need to reach out to strangers for help, but life has put me in a very difficult situation, and I am running out of options.

I am a single parent, the sole support for my children, and I am working two full-time jobs just to keep a roof over our heads in a very expensive tourism-based town. Every bit of my income goes towards the rent, utilities, food, transportation, and the basic necessities of raising my family.

Unfortunately, even with working around the clock, I have come up short in a critical area that would change the course of our lives.

More than nine years ago, I made some mistakes while under the influence of alcohol. I immediately took responsibility for my actions. I served time in the justice system, in a very intense solution-based program that I am forever grateful for. I also sought traditional treatment on my own, and after completion have never turned back to alcohol again.

My recovery is something I am extremely proud of. I am a huge part of local Alcoholics Anonymous and Celebrate Recovery chapters. I also work with other women of addiction/alcoholism- if it could happen to me, it could literally happen to anyone.

I have been doing everything in my power to build a stable and healthy life for myself and my children, we have come so far with emotional healing and rebuilding. But part of moving forward means completing the obligations of probation.

Right now, I am facing a deadline that I cannot meet on my own. By October 1st, I must pay the remainder of $4800 to the court in order to be compliant and complete probation. I have done everything else that they have asked of me, but if I cannot come up with this final amount in time, the consequence is going back to jail. That would mean being taken away from my children, losing both my jobs, and devastating the stability I have been working so hard to provide for my family. We all just want and need this nightmare to finally be behind us- as they tell me, they have their “supermom” back.

I am not asking for luxuries or extras- just for help in meeting this very specific and very urgent need. Every single dollar would help us get closer to this $4800 goal, and every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference in keeping my children’s lives intact. They would not only be missing me, they would lose friends, a school they love, numerous sports programs, and other extracurricular activities that they also have worked hard to build up.

I would like to emphasize that I am committed to continuing to work hard, remain sober, and provide for my children. I am also a full-time student with Abilene Christian University, and am slated to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with a concentration in Mental Health and Addiction in March of 2026. I will continue to always work towards my recovery, and the recovery of others as well.

This request is not about giving up responsibility- and I have no problem with repaying any help given to me. This is simply about asking for a little grace in a moment that I can simply not do it alone.

For over 20 years, I worked diligently in IT, building a stable and independent life. In a devastatingly short amount of time, that life has been completely dismantled by a perfect storm of betrayal, a severe mental health crisis, and a legal system that failed to protect an innocent person.

It started when a repetitive strain injury from overwork ended my 13-year career. My employer, who I considered family, let me go and dodged their responsibility by stringing me along with minimal freelance work until it was too late for me to file for short-term disability.

I fought to rebuild. I sold my house to free up equity, planning to downsize into a manageable home I could own outright, creating a stable base to launch a new invention-based business. The proceeds from that sale are my entire life savings and my only shield against homelessness.

Then, catastrophe struck. My former partner, who suffers from severe, untreated schizoaffective disorder, destroyed our home during a psychotic episode. As I calmly left to de-escalate the situation, she injured herself. When police arrived, she falsely accused me of assault.

Despite providing irrefutable proof of my innocence—including her own recantation, witness testimony, and a documented history of identical prior incidents that police had correctly identified as mental health crises—I was arrested, jailed, and slapped with a protection order.

This order was the final, crushing blow. It locked me out of the property I was still legally leasing, severing my access to over $80,000 worth of business inventory—my only means of generating income. It trapped my possessions alongside the person who destroyed them. Most cruelly, it has prevented me from using the funds from my home sale to secure a new home, as I am trapped in a legal nightmare, forced to spend my finite savings on lawyers and temporary housing instead of stability.

I am now watching the money for my future house—my last chance at security—drain away every single day to fight a charge that should never have been filed. I am facing down the very real prospect of homelessness because the system chose to ignore the truth.
