I amm 55 yr old grandmother of two. I removed a boxer Mix puppy about 8 months ago. Her name is Abby and I love her more than anything. I’ve struggled to be able to save money to get her medical care. When I saw the ad online this lady had multiple different liters of puppies. I felt so sorry for the puppies. I was living by myself after 32 yrs of marriage. I caught my husband cheating on me. So I was tired of being alone but instead of having a man, I had decided to get a dog for company. I went to this ladies house she had a puppy mill without the parents on property. There was a small puppy ( boxer Mix) in the corner. The food and water bowls was empty, at least  14 puppies running around,plus American bull dog. She pulled kibble in bowl all dogs ran to bowl, small runt as she said couldn’t get to bowl. I chose to take the runt as she called her. . I brought her home she was starving. Within a week the dog had doubled in size. I’ve been able to feed, housing and love my dog. But after paying bills I cannot save enough to get her shots, rabies, spayed and neutered etc . I’m begging for help with funds to get Abby her care. She just went through her first cycle of going in heat, I bought doggie diapers. I did buy shots at tractor supply and had my son give to her. But I had only bought first two doses. Plz help me get veterinarian care.

Lía’s surgery

Two malignant tumors have grown on two of her paws (back left and front right) so she can’t walk properly and without pain. Create an animal shelter on my island in Martinique

Hello everyone,

I’m taking my chance on this site because I believe that in life, dreaming big is allowed! My dream: to create an animal shelter on my island in Martinique! Here, the animal protection society (SPA) is so overwhelmed that they’ve actually closed their doors. When they receive a dog, it’s usually to euthanize it. All the associations are also completely overwhelmed, packs of dogs are forming, and it’s becoming a real problem. The authorities are doing absolutely nothing about it. I am passionate about addressing this issue. I feel I have the strength and the capacity, as does my partner, who is a dog trainer.

I would also like to create a space for a dog boarding facility (highly in demand here), which would allow me to create a profitable activity alongside the shelter. This would include dog grooming and a dog playground. I am currently finishing the training that will allow me to be compliant and open the shelter. I am fortunate to have my mother supporting me in this project, and she wants to donate a magnificent, very large plot of land of over one hectare, isolated more than 100 meters from the nearest residences, near a river – perfect for the project!

My only obstacle to this project is financial means. Firstly, to pay the notary for the donation of the land to ensure all rights to the property (I have a brother and a sister, and I want to avoid any inheritance issues, especially since they don’t like dogs!). This would cost around 2000 euros. Then, there’s the cost of installing a prefabricated container to make it a living space for my family (I’ve already found one pre-fitted second-hand), which is around 5000 euros. The transport of the container would be around 500 euros. Some light landscaping, a day of tractor work at 300 euros, and if possible, a slab to place the container, costing about 1500 euros. From there, any means would be welcome to create spaces for the animals and to cover veterinary expenses. A sturdy shelter for two dogs costs around 1000 euros. The location is large enough and far enough from residences to accommodate all the dogs in need on the island.

The investments I’ve already made with my limited means include 350 euros for training and 700 euros for fencing to accommodate a pony we already have boarded, which can also be used for the dogs.

For me, implementing this project would truly be an achievement, a triumph over life, especially since my loved ones don’t believe in me. Yet, I believe, I dream big, everything is already in my head; it’s possible, and it’s up to you. I would be eternally grateful to you, as would all the distressed animals in Martinique. Each of us has their own sad stories, however it got better when we got adopted. We were born in not so loving families that abandoned us on the streets. We endured cold weather, snow storms, rainy weather; we were living in dirt and extremely low temperatures without our mothers, water and food or shelter. We are among the few lucky dogs that got adopted in a loving family that tries to offer us all we need to be happy and healthy and loves us unconditionally as well. Our adopting family helped us a lot when we needed, however now they cannot afford to cover all the costs. We decided to help them and with the support of all the caring people that love animals we can return their act of kindness. My sacrifice for those without a voice

1st of all I am not one to ask for money from others, I am more the one that wishes to give to others in need.

It’s come to the point in my life that I don’t have much left to receive because of my life situation.

I am a British guy that moved to China back in 2015 to become an English teacher. I only planned too stay out here for 1 year but i ended up coming back in 2016 because i enjoyed being immersed in a different culture and having my own independence.

In October 2016 on my way to my friends in the city of Nanjing China, I came across a white dog hobbling across the road looking worn out and underweight and from what I could see nearly on her last legs. I stopped to offer her some food i had and she took it nervously but with ease. I then knew in my heart i couldn’t turn a blind eye, so I rescued her and took her to a nearby pet hospital I knew to give her a roof for a few days. It was at the end of the days I paid for that she would be back on the streets, so it was this choice I made to adopt her myself. I named her Shelby.

Fast forward to December 2020 when covid hit I lost my job at the current school I was working in because they could not afford to stay open. My work visa was due to expire end of December 2020 so was unexpected. Since I rescued shelby i kept coming back for another year in china. My back then serious 1st Gf relationship would take care shelby when i went home. You may wonder why i didn’t bring her home with me. Well Nanjing does not have a licensed pet hospital for pets to travel abroad internationally and Shanghai was the only one. I had to get a 9 hour bus ride one way back and forth for all the tests and I just didn’t have it in me to do it. I was going to eventually do it but the world shut down unexpectedly.

From January to march 2021 i managed to get 3 humanitarian visa to give time to find another job, but with covid about and schools not open and getting papers validated it was near impossible. I had the choice to put shelby in a shelter and leave China or overstay and protect her. Well as a father that rescued her from death, I chose to overstay my visa and be there for my dog.

I am a spiritual nature guy so making this sacrifice for my own freedom was hard but actually the risk is worth it for Shelby to stay safe. I trust in God i am doing the right thing and although some days i am challenged by fear and paranoia i just remain in faith.

I continued to stay in Nanjing until November 2021 without a visa, and as i lived in the same building since 2015 i guess you could say it is how i didn’t get caught. The covid checks were becoming more serious with flashing QR codes etc, i got around it but i was living like a ghost everyday watching my back.

I joined a dating site because i am lonely as the last time i went home to England was back in February 2019. I was fortunate enough to meet a woman online and to fast forward i told her about my situation and she excepted it. I then left Nanjing with myself and Shelby and the 3 of us hired a car and i drove 1500km across china to move to Shenzhen the south of china next to Hong Kong.

The relationship turned sour pretty quick and we would clash often living together as her place was small. She also had a small teddy dog she took from her friend, as her friend had a baby and could not take care of it anymore. I managed to move out and live in a room a floor above, but the fear got to her letting me stay because without a visa it could land her in trouble also.

I then was in a city that could give shelby the tests to leave, but because i did not have a visa i was not allowed to take her out the country. I then tried to put her in a shelter, ,but the shelter was overcrowded with all the people that abandoned their pets throughout covid, as 1 in 4 dogs that were left behind was from a foreigner that gave up their pet.

My then Gf broke up with me because of the stress and she was going to abandon the teddy dog because her new place cannot have a dog. I couldn’t let him suffer so i also rescued him and took him under my wing as well.

Because the 2 dogs would clash, I am renting 2 rooms in her name which she agreed so shelby can live upstairs with me and Cindy lives downstairs. I walk them separately each day and have to buy the foods and treats and walks each day.

I had some online teaching in the past and some one to one to survive here as i cannot get a normal job since i am wanted for my choices. That kept me afloat for some time along with using my credit cards to pay my way etc.

I live alone each day, I have not seen my family and friends back home for 5 years now. I have already overstayed 3 years and counting. I have run up a debt of 10,000 UK pounds from my credit cards to live off. They are maxed out now. I could afford the minimum payments but this is the 1st time i cannot now, so i am getting late payment fees etc. I also owe the Chinese government 10,000RMB ( equivalent to 1300 UK sterling) for overstaying and if i don’t pay it i will face jail time for up to one month, and potentially black listed from being able to travel to other countries in the future.

Yes its a big price to pay, but my dogs are my family and they are innocent and cannot defend themselves. What else can I do?.

2 weeks ago shelby was sleeping and woke up in agony in pain. Her hip leg bone dislocated from her body, as it was translated her femoral head dislodges from the acetabula fossa. She needed immediate surgery so i spent the equivalent of 5000rmb from my credit card to pay for the treatment. I could cover this myself but it wiped me out hence being here.

She’s been in the hospital these past 2 weeks and is still their now. I will have another bill to cover for the extra care but i will sell some belongings to cover this.

I live each day with the bare minimum and i am used to it, I am grateful for what I have. I will find a way to continue, I always do. I know there are many people in need on here and I wish all can be helped.

Senior Dog in need of medical attention

Hello, I have a wonderful 15 year old dog named Midas.  He is a Jack Russel and Beagle mix with adorable black eye patches. He has been my companion and snuggle champion for 13 years.  When I adopted him from the shelter, I promised him that I would always be there for him, never abandon him, and always do whatever I could to keep him safe and healthy.

He has been very healthy until recently he started having heart problems and I have struggled to keep his teeth clean even with daily brushing.  What started as a heart murmur has become a mitral regurgitation, or a leaky valve allowing blood to flow backward from his atrium.  This causes him trouble when we go for walks or play with his toys.  His favorite parts of the day now leave him sluggish and he is very weak afterwards.

Some medications can assist and offer him the ability to combat the symptoms and enjoy physical activity but they are going to run over $200 monthly which I am not able to afford currently.

The vet is also recommending teeth cleaning to prevent bacteria from plague affecting his blood. But given his age, extra precautions are needed which add to the cost.

I am trying to get a second job to support his needs as his well-being and dignity are as precious as any additional years he has left in this world.  If you can, please help give my little king Midas more enjoyable years to play, sniff, and snuggle.

I need a service dog

🐶 Pulga is not just a pet; he is family. My grandma found him in a box and gave him to me when he was only 20 days old, leaving me the best inheritance in the whole world.

👉 In June 2023, Pulga developed a lump on his abdomen. I took him to a veterinarian who, for months, downplayed the situation, attributing it to a sebaceous cyst.

In early December 2023, I sought another veterinarian, and after several tests, the diagnosis revealed early-stage Skin Cancer with initial signs of Metastasis in the spleen.

🚨 Immediate surgery is vital, and an urgent start to chemotherapy is necessary.

Helping Pets Have A Place To Live

I wish to buy a property in the valley so that i can have more space for helping animals – There are some pieces of land but are over $100,000.00.  I currently have more than 10 dogs and one cat. I let so many go without my care and help due to not having enough room at my house which has a small normal lot. I care about the neighbors not having so much noise since these homes are only 10′ separate from each other….There are so many pets out without a loving home. Now that is cold is even harder to see them alone in the streets. I truly am grateful for all the rescuers out there. Let’s keep helping whenever we can and hopefully more people can do the same. When i get a big enough property, many more will be rescued and live happy for the rest of their lives. I’m doing good with feeding them and keeping up with vet visits but, would like to ask for donations to do something bigger and greater for them and others that are waiting for their much better home and land to play. Desperate to save my puppy

I recently got a Parvo (in between rounds of shots) for my puppy. I am devastated. I have been extending all and any financial means to keep him in care for this awful virus he has no chance to survive if I have to take him home early. I visit him everyday and it breaks my heart to see him so sick and down. I got this little guy and bonded with him immediately – he’s my goofy little fun loving bug.  I can’t even think about what I’m going to do.  I have never been one to ask for financial help but I am desperate and will do whatever I have to. I miss him in my home with me, sleeping in my bed, his little nose boops. The joy he has brought me in the last 6 months could never be described with words. I also suddenly lost my grandfather and the timing of it all is so grim. The holidays are on us and I just sit it this dark place, I can barely eat or think or anything.
