Flying my dogs home

In 6 months I will be moving back to South Africa from Hong Kong, after 7 years.

An all too familiar tale, durng covid I signed up to foster dogs and a few days after filling in the form I got asked to take care of 2 puppies (they could both fit in my backpack). As all my family and friends already knew, I was not going to be able to let them go and so I officially adopted my two beautiful mixed breeds in April of 2021.

Its not somthing I regret, although sometimes the cost has been difficult to bare and I had to make a ffew adjustments to my lifestyle. They bring me immense joy and I am grateful to have them in my life.

As I hhave decided back home to be with family- young nephews and aging parents- I will of course be flying my dogs back. It is a hefty expense and so I am reaching out to anyone who may be willing and able to help.

The cost will be about US$4000 per dog (blood tests, vaccines, flights, cost of crtaes, transport, 2 weeks quarantine in South Africa).

If anyone is able and willing to help, it would be greatly apprecited!

Help Me $$

I’m a 74 yr old retired single woman. My monthly pay from Social Security is only $920. It should be higher than that, but someone had erased my work history at a Dept Store. In order to make extra money, I tried working at Doordash and Uber Food delivery. However, I’m not able to do that anymore because it made me very anxious. Also, my car is a 2013 and consumes alot of gas. I do own a one bedroom one bath condo. I have been looking constantly for a less expensive condo but there isn’t anything available. My condo isn’t expensive, but nothing is selling. My condo maintenance went up to $607 a month. Then I was charged $1000. for assessment. In January I’ll be charged another $1000. for more assessments. I have a support small dog. He needs Cardio Care prescription dog food. He has a heart murmur. He also has a collapsed esophagus and his lungs fill with fluid. So I have three medications for him to get and his special dog food. As I said earlier, my car is a 2013 and I just hope I don’t have any major expenses for my car.

So, if there is someone who has an excess? amount of money who would like to help someone and their cute, sweet chihuahua, we would appreciate any and all help.

Thank you

Help my mission to end the world’s biggest injustice

My name is Jem, and I am an animal rights activist.

It started around 3 years ago when I became aware of the horrors that animals are subjected to every day. I learned that over 80 billion animals were being bred into existence every year for the sole purpose of being enslaved, exploited, and killed.

I learned that this is unnecessary, and is only happening so wealthy people can make profit from their bodies, whilst consumers fund the industry for a moment of taste or convenience, at the cost of an innocent beings entire life and existence.

I learned that every nutrient our bodies need can be obtained from plants, so why would we treat these vulnerable babies as commodities, and take everything that matters to them – their freedom, safety, comfort, children, and lives. After all, these things matter to them just as ours does to us.

I became vegan and decided to dedicate my life and my voice for speaking up for these beings who cannot defend themselves. My aim is to educate people about animal exploitation, and promote veganism – the principle that other animals should be free to exist in their own right and shouldn’t be exploited by humans for any use or purpose.

I do this for all of the lives who suffered at my hands before I was vegan, for all those who are currently being exploited on a farm or violated in a slaughterhouse, and for all those yet to be born into this system of abuse.

I took my activism to social media recently as I learnt that this is a great way to spread awareness to thousands more people.
My channel is www.youtube.com/@jemlettuce and my Instagram is www.instagram.com/jem_lettuce if you want to take a look.

I am looking for support so that I can quit my day job and focus on giving these beautiful innocent beings all of my time that they deserve. I just need enough to cover my bills and expenses so I can get by without having to earn money elsewhere.

Thank you for your time and consideration. My PayPal is paypal.me/jemlettuce
I am also on Patreon: patreon.com/JemLettuce

Any donations are greatly appreciated.

Need money for a dog rescue group

My name is Maudy and I am currently living in Chilpancingo, a city 45 minutes away from Acapulco, México. I move here back in 2008 and funded a dog rescue group called Protege tu Mundo A. C. To help with all the expenses opened a store and for many years everything was on track. The covid pandemic happened and since then we do not get as many visits as we used to and sales dropped completely.

I tried many things to keep promoting our dogs in need, which are more than 50, and also help some stray animals that needed medical attention. The cost of running this rescue group is about $2,500 dollars a month to pay rent, food, medical services, cleaning personnel, and utility bills. I have no other option at this moment but to ask for your help. This is for real and if you contribute we can video call so you can verify our story.

Anything you can contribute will be great. God bless you!

Paws for Hope: Help Heal My Puppy’s Unexpected Journey

Hello kind souls,

My name is Catherine and I am reaching out to you during a time of great emotional and financial distress. This past December, I faced the heart-wrenching loss of my beloved mini golden doodle who was almost 12 years old. She suffered from a sudden and severe continuous seizure, leading to the most difficult decision of my life. Despite having pet insurance, the costs to potentially save her soared to $6,000 a day without a guaranteed diagnosis or cure. With profound sadness, I had to let her go in the early hours of a cold morning, a decision that still haunts me.

In the midst of my grief, I was encouraged to fill the void with a new companion. Hoping to mend my broken heart, I acquired another mini golden doodle from a reputable national breeder. Expecting to receive a healthy puppy, I was instead faced with immediate medical challenges. My new puppy arrived suffering from two parasites—one of which was highly contagious—and double ear infections. Compounding the issue, my pet insurance required a 15-day waiting period before kicking in, leaving me to shoulder over $5,000 in medical bills upfront as my puppy’s condition couldn’t wait.

The financial strain from these unexpected expenses has been immense. Although the breeder responsibly refunded the purchase price, the initial costs had already been charged to my credit card, adding to the financial burdens I am juggling while trying to keep my small business afloat, make mortgage payments, and manage everyday expenses.

As I write this, my puppy is now healthy, parasite-free, and thriving at 10 pounds, her happiness a small comfort amid the ongoing financial strain. Yet, I find myself in dire need of assistance to manage the debt incurred from her emergency medical treatments.

Any help you can provide would be a lifeline for me during this. No amount is too small, and your kindness would not only help alleviate my financial burden but also allow me to continue caring for my puppy who has brought so much joy into my life after a period of profound loss.

I am immensely grateful for any support you can offer. Your generosity means the world to us and helps ensure that I can continue to provide a loving home for my little one.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering my plea. Your support not only helps a small business owner and animal lover but signifies a beacon of hope in what has been a very dark time.

Pay for willows medication and surgery

My dog willow has been in and out of the vets these last two weeks. She has a deep corneal ulcer in her left eye which is on the border of rupturing. This may result in needing her eye removed. So far I’ve spent £1157 on her vet bills. I can’t afford to keep paying for her treatment, and her insurance won’t cover it. I am desperate for help with her bills. I don’t want her to lose her eye but if it comes to it it will cost £1100 and if not her other surgery to fix the ulcer will cost just over £500. This, along with her medication is pushing me over the limit. I struggle with my mental health and am a full time student, I can’t afford it or have the mental capacity to worry about it anymore. I am really struggling, please help me.

Please help me with all these cats. I’m drowning in the cost of feeding them.

Dear millionaires,

I bit off more then i could chew and need hslp.

Taking care of these cats has made it impossoble for me to save money to do anything else like pay my bills or save money to start my business.

I am drowning in a sea of hopelessness.

I need to start my business but cannot since I spend $100 to $140 a day to feed just them.

To be totally honest with you I’ve had to resort to doing some things I would not normally do in order to feed. Them.

Help me please.

Currently have about 30 adults and 40 kittens.

The county animal people make it impossible for me to get any help from them. They refuse to come get any of them.

I need about $100,000 to get my business started.  If i could get help with these animals I could save that 140 a day and have that 100,000 in 2  years.

I just feel like nothing good is ever going to happen for me. I’m always going to be struggling to fulfill my dreams. I have never gotten help from anyone.

Always did everything myself.  I’m just ready to give up. Walk out my front door, grab me a shopping cart and become a crazy homeless lady.

Support Our Furry Family

Hello everyone. My name is Yessenia, I have been under treatment for depression for 9 years. I attend checkups, take medication and have my family to support me. However, I must admit that my greatest motivation to move forward and not let myself be defeated are my animals. Approximately 6 years ago we started by adopting two cats, then a dog…

At this moment I have 4 dogs and 7 cats with me. All have been rescued due to abuse or abandonment. The white dog that appears in the photo, the French Poodle, was called Lulú. She was blind and she was my faithful shadow. She was with me 24 hours a day. One day she got sick, we took her to the vet and that same day, she died. Apparently due to a heart problem that never had manifestations before.

It wasn’t easy, I still dream about her sometimes, but I know that while we were together, I gave her all the love I could and I have 11 more fur babies to take care of. Those who have had animals know that keeping them is not cheap. Food, finding a place where they accept you living with so many animals, the vet, the medications, everything is expensive. But it’s totally worth it.

If you are able to support us to move forward at this time when my financial situation is not the best due to work situations and changes that have been generating increasing difficulties, we sincerely thank you for your collaboration.

Your help is essential to be able to face this stormy time and to be able to resume with renewed strength the fight to find a job that allows me to continue providing my furry family with everything they deserve. They are my reason, my best therapy and absolute proof that unconditional love exists.

Surgery for Ruger

I am owned by an adorable 3 year old Italian Greyhound named Ruger. Ruger, unfortunately broke his leg a few weeks ago, on a Friday night. Leg breaks are quite common with this breed of dogs, but in over 20 years of owning Italian Greyhounds, I had never had one break it’s leg. My husband and I brought Ruger to the Emergency Vet at Cornell University. We paid them to stableize and cast his leg, then took him home with meds to keep him calm and pain free for the rest of the weekend. On the following Monday, I called Dr. Brown, a vet who specializes in Italian Greyhound leg breaks, and made Ruger an appointment for Tuesday morning. We drove the 9 hours to West Virginia to get Ruger the best possible care. Ruger had surgery the following day and a plate specifically made for tiny Italian Greyhound legs was placed to repair the break. He remains with Dr. Brown for his critical healing for four weeks. We will make the 9 hour trip again next week to pick Ruger up for the remainder of his recovery at home. We will then follow up with Ruger’s own vet here in NY.  This has been a difficult expense beings that my husband and I are retired. Thank you in advance for any and all help. @usps047 is my Cashapp

Vet bills for my high risk cat

It’s hard to ask for money from strangers. I feel embarrassed for some reason. But I can endure it when I think of who I’m doing this for.

Approximately four months ago, I found out about a situation that had been going on in my apartment complex.

A stray cat was being feed secretly. She was so calm and so unbelievably cute. For a long time I assumed she belonged to someone in the complex. But turns out no one wanted to claim her because management has a deposit of $500 for any pets plus an additional $50 on rent. Still, someone was feeding her because she would always come back. At one point, I heard the pound was called but they couldn’t catch her.

Things got complicated when, because no one owned her and she wasn’t spayed, she got pregnant. I don’t know what happened to that first litter but I never saw them anywhere. The second time she got pregnant, two neighbors tried to help. She gave birth in one of their patios and they quickly gave them away to people outside the complex. Only two remained and that’s when I became aware of the situation.

I rushed over to see them, maybe help get them adopted, when I saw her. One kitty was pitch black. I immediately knew she wouldn’t get adopted. There’s superstition surrounding black cats in my community. She was going to be tossed aside and become a target to cruelty. I just knew it. And though I’ve never owned any pets, I knew I had to do something.

I took her in.

I wasn’t worried about her sibling because he was the spitting image of the mom. He would be adopted soon.

I hide her in my unit as long as I could. I got her checked out and vaccinated as per needed. She was healthy thankfully. I wanted to spay her as soon as possible but the vet recommended waiting until she was 6 months old. I named her Midnight. I fell in love with her. I waited anxiously.

A neighbor approached me and made small talk before quipping “you know, there’s a fee for owning pets”

My blood ran cold. She said it so casually but I knew she knew. I didn’t know why but she was giving me a warning. If she knew, others knew. And they would tell. I’d rather tell myself, so I did. I contacted management and made an appointment to update my lease. I now had a payment of $500 I was hoping to put off until after her spay, which would be around $400 to $500. I can’t afford both on top of my usual bills. Rent alone is $1000.

I don’t regret anything. I wish I could’ve done more but I’m happy with where I am. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Help Our Owners

Greetings,
As many people who live with cats have found, our lives are not exactly our own. I bet there are even dogs who have serven…. nah. Dogs worship humans. OUR four-footed boss–er um companions have certain demands that they insist we must adhere to. Even now, Miu sits behind me and with a very penetrating voice, demands that I let him in my lap to give him hugs and pets. Others are helping my husband fill out very important forms on his computer. (Much to his dismay because he doesn’t think he needs ‘help’.) We would like to eventually start or join a feline non-profit organization to provide sanctuary for domestic abandoned and feral cats as we are also in demand from many such felines in our area. Before we can get to that point, we have a couple of blocks in front of us we would like to smash with our superhero picks and we invite you to help with our cause.

Firstly, we DID own our own home, but in 2019 an earthquake hit our area and our home was condemned. We adjusted. A house just down the street was for rent and we were accepted as tenants. We have faithfully paid rent ON TIME to our absentee slum lady, putting up with the haphazard idiots she’s sent to repair the property. We stopped telling her things were broken and fixed or put up with the problems on our own and out of our money. I haven’t had a hot shower in years. Our pipes are so gummed up with minerals they need replaced. Bleach is our friend, (it eats at the minerals),–and forget putting toilet paper in the toilet. We have a separate receptacle for that. The bathroom and kitchen sinks are useless. We wash dishes camping style–outside with a hose. A few months ago, the light switches decided they didn’t want to work anymore, so Walmart made a bundle on our purchases of extension cords for the few sockets that work. Why don’t we have the landlady fix this stuff? Well, fixing the plumbing alone would require that we move out. We have nowhere to go. Until…

We looked into repairing our house. We thought we would do it on our own if we just got a little money set aside. Then….. Covid. Forget about saving money, now it was a matter of getting enough money each week to feed the cats inside and outside of two residences, because, of course, the rental house had….if you guess cats living under the house, YOU WIN! Prices on cat food went up and sometimes the stores didn’t even have any. The feral population jumped as people dumped their animals because they couldn’t pay for food. We were barely making it. We used to buy wet and dry food. The canned wet food became too much and we stopped buying it. We struggled just get dry food, but we did it! We came through to the other side of covid. Then the car broke, then the husband lost his job. (I’m skipping the struggle to get unemployment approved. WHAT a nightmare!) We had a friend help get us new car, Hubby got a new temp job while he looked for one in his preferred venue, and we started digging stairs back to the surface of our sinkhole. We looked at our house again. This time with the idea of getting professionals to fix it, then selling. We want to leave the state. One realtor with a contractor friend looked at our house and said, “I’ll give you $15,000 because of the utilities, but it probably isn’t worth fixing to sell. I just happen to have a house a few blocks from here coming up for sale. I’ll take 30K down. I’ll give you fifteen for the house and you come up with the other fifteen and I’ll bank roll the rest.” SOLD!!!

So we need help getting $15,000. The total cost of the house is $59,900 but the monthly payment is cheaper than our rent by several hundred dollars. PLUS the darn NEW car developed the most unique way to die. The crank case has a hole in it! How the neck did THAT happen?! There’s a freaking crack in it with a thumb-sized hole! So we need to get a freaking car as well. The previously mentioned friend has a car he’s lending us, so YAY, job saved, but we have to have a another new car. So that’s another $5,000. All together we need to find about $20,000.

Another motivation for moving? The landlady sent a minion to look at our evaporative cooler, which we’ve kept limping along and I guess she’s decided it needs replaced cause she’s raising our rent. Raising. Our. Rent. On a house with barely functioning electricity and toilet. Pipes that need replaced through the connection to the city, (and it was like this when we moved in), water damage from a poorly repaired roof that caused the ceiling to fall in, (and what a pain THAT was to fix! And its still not right.) Holes in the walls (there when we moved in) from uncompleted and poor construction of a new wall she SAID she would send men to finish. (Cardboard is a GREAT invention :)) I mopped the floor ONE TIME and the paint came off the floor cause its not sealed. Can’t wash the walls, cause, you know the paint comes off. SHE is supposed to pay our water bill, but we’ve been doing it and she complains when she gets a late payment notice. Use the kitchen or bathroom sinks and you’ll be walking on water, but not because you’re Holy. (Water is pushed back up from the clogged sewer below the house.) Bathroom faucet broke, so gotta fix that. (The pipe behind the wall squirted out another lake before we noticed a problem and shut the main water off, tore the paneling off the wall and plugged the valve.) The cooler is sooooo rotted through on the bottom it can’t hold the side vents in their correct positions. (Some tar and roof tiles can work really well by the way if you need to fix yours.) And shes raising our rent to replace it when we told her FIVE YEARS AGO it needed to be replaced! We’ve been grateful this house has been here for us despite it all, but the rent is sucking us dry. We could be using that rent money for our feline dependents. As we did when we lived in our now condemned house.

When we get the other part of the down payment, we’re taking all the feral cats with us when we move! We used to work with the humane society to spay and neuter the cats. The program stopped for awhile, but they have a new one. However, its a co-pay. Still, we will be getting these guys spayed and neutered to limit the feral population. Meanwhile, we give them sanctuary, a shelter under the house, medical treatment as they allow, food, and water. Especially the water. This is a desert. Help us help them. Yeah we benefit by moving out of this place, but it really is a necessity. We appreciate any help given. Shoot, cat food is a help! I know we aren’t the only ones. Hubby talked to a lady who said she had a couple hundred she cared for! Yep. That’s just about right.

Sincerely,
The Barrera’s

I’m running out of time…

Howdy I’m Bryce, I’m 31 years old and I come from a family with a huge rodeo background. When I was 12 my parents divorced and my mother turned my sister and I against my dad and his side of my family (witch I’m not very proud of her doing that), I was the only one that had to suffer any consequences of her doing so when my dad sold my 3 horses that I rode daily and competed on at least 1-2 times each month.. I’ve spent my whole adult life trying to get a horse and get back to a competitive level in hopes to get to enter a WSTR with my grandpa before he stops roping,  he is 83…, but very active and just bought himself a new horse so I still have at least the rest of this year I hope! I had almost achieved this goal 7 years ago but I got into a relationship with someone I truly cared about, she has depression extremely bad and I sold both horses I had because i wasent getting to practice, giving my all to try to help her through it… we just called it quits a few months ago so now I can get focused again! It would mean everything to me to get to do this and I know I’ll never be able to afford a horse in time so I’m asking you kind folks reading this, I truly appreciate it!

God bless you,

Bryce
