In June 2023, I met an unexpected setback when the transmission of my 2006 Ford Escape failed. After speaking with a couple of mechanics, I was told that a new transmission could cost at least $6,000 and to purchase a remanufactured one would range from $3,000 to $5,000.

I’m at a loss

On September 14, 2023, in good faith, I brought my 2010 Chevrolet Camaro RS for an oil change at Walmart. Like I have almost every month since I bought the car a year ago. Just one week later, on September 23, 2023, my engine blew up and I had to tow it to a mechanic, the mechanic’s report reflects that this vehicle has a high performance motor, and the wrong oil was put in the vehicle during the oil change, causing it to blow up.) I am now without a vehicle. Prior to this incident, I have had zero issues with my Camaro and it has not been in any shop for any reason other than routine maintenance such as new tires And oil changes. I called the store to speak to management and was placed on hold where I remained for 1 literal hour before I decided to draft an email to Walmart in a attempt to file a claim for damages. After calling multiple times a day for weeks they finally leave me a voicemail about them assuming liability. Now no one will return my phone calls or respond to my emails or anything. I am a single mom and my car is the only transportation I have to get back and forth to work to support my family. I don’t know what else to do but I don’t have the 1000’s of dollars to get my car fixed. $7,612.47 to be precise.  Especially with Christmas coming up and having to pay for my chemo medication. So I’m 22 years old and bought an Evo X…

I think I’m cursed because it breaks every time I fix it and now I’m too broke to fix it AND can’t afford my thirst for speed.

It all started after I drove it home from the dealership;

I was driving with my friend on our way home after buying the car and I started smelling smoke…No, it wasn’t because I was allegedly driving at ridiculous speeds, it was because they sold me the car with a burnt clutch.

So instead of being smart and sending it to the dealership, I chose to replace it myself. Well, months later, I “fixed” it, but the retaining clip on the clutch broke off, so I bought another one and dropped the transmission…Again.

Well, while I was working on it, the battery died, so I traded my old one in and bought a new one.

And after I had thrown the clutch back in the car, it ran…For two days.

Why?

Because one of the lug nut studs broke off…Which caused the wheel bearing to break…And my wallet…And my mental fortitude.

So please,

Hi Everyone! I just poured my heart out in a text, I hit the back button and everything disappeared 😭 so bare with me..
This Summer in July, I purchased a 2003 for $1,100 with no air and one window that won’t go up🤗. I was too excited considering the fact it’d been years since I had my own transportation.
It made it to my apartment just fine except for a small heated scent… the Seller of Facebook Marketplace had warned me of the need of a battery and struts🤷🏿.
Anywho, I acquired a title loan of $300 to purchase a battery and an oil change at our local Walmart. The loan is for 10 months and I’ve only accomplished 3 so far- next $90 payment due 11/16.
Had no idea I would have to seek a loan except that I don’t know people that extend financial aide without a hefty fee or demoralization😔.

My car broke down . My vehicle is my job and I’ve been out of work for a week and a half. My job is serving people for court summons. I use my own vehicle.  I also deliver food through common food delivery hubs which makes up 20 percent of my income. So I just need $250 to fix a part on my transmission. Its the control module. I can send it in to get repaired. I already took it out of my car by watching you tube videos on how to. Ive lost over $2500 in earnings already. Hello I’m Tywon but I also go by the name Ty. Lets see, I’m a new creation in Christ and while trying to keep Him in the center of my life, I fall short. So with that being said I’m not perfect but I continue to try. And if I must add I don’t like depending on people whereas I worked for everything I have and work even harder to keep it. So last Sunday (October 8. 2023) I was involved in a car accident where after my gas tank get slammed into by the other vehicle I should be dead and honestly don’t know why God didn’t take me then. But hey I’m still here and stuck with the repairs since the other person insurance don’t want to pay and want to find me at fault. Leaving me with an estimate of $13,498.72 to repair. Now I know you’re wondering why my insurance didn’t repair it and ill be honest and say I took the cheaper route. I needed it to look good on paper just to drive it off the lot, August 25,2023 ; because I couldn’t afford full coverage for $400 and put down a deposit. So there you have it, now you see why I wish God could had took me that day because this is the consequence for my actions and/or “trying to cheat life’ decisions. I am a father of two wonderful young boys, ages 4 and 1.  I enjoy every moment of watching them interact with life.  I am also married to the best mother on the planet.  I am the main bread winner, but I watch my wife daily with amazement on how she handles taking care of the home and our children.  I work hard of course myself, but always wish I could do more for her and the boys.

My wife has an SUV that has served us well over the years, but has recently taken damage to the motor and we were quoted close to $10,000 for repairs.  With still catching up on our back mortgage from when Covid originally hit (2020) and our day to day expenses I find myself just not able to keep up with providing a safe vehicle for my family to drive. The boys love to ride in the car and just see scenery around the area or take naps! We have one vehicle that gets us from A to B, but I really want to surprise my wife with a fully repaired vehicle for her to drive or purchase her something a little newer that is reliable. The cars just seem to keep breaking down. Her Saturn SUV broke a 2nd timing belt which damaged more of the motor and has left our main vehicle inoperable. We love the truck itself as it is all-wheel drive perfect for the winters where we are located, but the repairs are extensive at a time when our funds are not.

Hello everybody I hope your day is going well. recently got into a car accident where it took out a big chunk of my car.  This is my first car and my first ever accident I’m asking for your help because I’m struggling greatly financially and I need help fixing my car which is my main transport to work and school. As many may know being a college student isn’t cheap or easy just taking two Spanish courses over the summer cost me $1,000 out of pocket I am currently a 20-year-old student (21 next month) at UCF which is located in Orlando, Florida. I mentioned this because it’s an hour away from where I live in Melbourne, Florida. Now with no car, I’m unable to attend my classes in person which is putting me behind. I stay in Melbourne, Florida to help take care of my family. I am doing the best I can with little to no overtime my job is paying me, but I only get paid minimum wage and get paid every two weeks. This is not enough to help me support my family, pay my own bills, and save to have my car fixed in good time. Also now due to my insurance not providing me with a rental car, I have no way to visit my God niece Dakota, born on October 6th of this month, who is currently at Orlando Regional Medical Center. The labor was over 30 hours until they finally decided to do a C-section soon. After it was found that she was born with holes in her heart, They are waiting to see if she will heal on her own but no changes have been made. They will/might have to do surgery on her and I would very much like to be there if it happens. Unfortunately with no car, I won’t be able to make the trip up there. My insurance deductible is $2,000 which is really hard to gather at this time especially with Christmas being around the corner. I turn to you this day as others and the lord knows I did try not to come this platform. Today, I’ve come to find that my source of transportation needs an engine replacement. As this came as a shock to me. There were no obvious signs of this type of failure. I hadn’t started it in a while and it was known that other important work was necessary.

Of course, there is a history to this part of life.

In March this year, my work was terminated due to management issues. The pay was good and on time while the project was ongoing and until just before our two week break. The last two pay periods were awkward. As it was the first time we hadn’t received the pay on-time. The next payment was received late as well and on this occasion it was also short. Thank the most high that we had another week complete when it was time for our break.

Anyway, we returned to our homes respectively expecting to be paid as we were told before heading home. My pay would take about a month and a half to get to me in which case I could not now pay rent. As they would give small portion after being home three weeks then two weeks later a little more. Never paying my full pay at once. In any case this caused me to lose our house about mid-April. We ended up in hotels while I could attempt odd jobs to feed them. More…

At about three weeks later I fractured my foot second thing in the morrow. March 7th, it happened. The next day I realized standing on two feet was not an option. So very thankful that it did not necessitate surgery. We found that we could save by staying at campgrounds for a period. Yet, by this time were clearly beyond low budget. Now, work was not an option for me & this all happened so fast. Losing the house is one thing and was very hard on my family. The children of course thought it was fun. We don’t inform them we don’t live anywhere. We teach them to be greatful that we are covered sometimes. Also that we can eat sometimes.

Now, my bone is healing well and we’ve decided to try to get me back working and…here we are this day. Of course, now the cold season is upon us again. Without the car I now cannot provide heat.

My name is Mary and I’m a hard working Mother of two children 8 and 18. Back in July I purchased what I thought was a perfect dream car for me and my two children at the time I was working for a cleaning company (which is far from my normal field of work ) I’ve always held clerical / customer service positions, But after going through a ruff patch I had to take anything I could get to keep a roof over our head and food on the table which every month was a juggling act of what bill would be neglected or what would be late , Back to the story of me purchasing what I thought was my dream car back in July prior to that I had a 20 year old car that was over heating and breaking down almost EVERYTIME WE GOT IN IT, But because my kids depends on me and I’ve never gave up I took that chance driving it daily so that I could make money for my children , One day ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH finally me and my 8 year old son broke down on the highway during rush hour traffic which was so scary and one of the worse days of my life . The next month following I neglected several other bills just to get me and my children reliable transportation and started calling and visiting several car lots with only $1000 to my names and bad credit praying that someone would give me a chance . Finally in July I found a buy here pay here that I felt was a god send , I don’t know much about cars, But they were willing to work with less than perfect credit and accept the down payment of only $1000 which was every penny I had left to my name. After taking the car on a test drive the car ran what I thought was perfect I didn’t notice anything off or strange we signed the paperwork and drove off to celebrate this was Friday come Monday my car was locking up on me as soon as I got off the highway I felt gut punched and so much despair I couldn’t believe what was happening to me ! I’m such a good person a kind hearted person a hard working person I don’t have much but I always give what I have and what I thought was a dream turned into a nightmare right before my eyes . After calling the car lot they was rude to me and cold to me and basically told them to call my warranty company. I was able to borrow the money to have my car towed to a Ford dealership and I did call the warranty company that said they would have to take the car apart to do a diagnostic and that they also send an agent out . Come to find out my engine was completely blown which was an issue prior to me purchasing the car given I didn’t have the car a full 48 hours before it breaking down . Long story short the warranty company was only able to cover a fraction of what the Ford dealership billed me for the bill for the engine replacement and a few small other things was over $5000 the amount the covered and the balance still due is $2500 however I haven’t had a dime extra since this happened as well as still being charged a car payment for a vehicle I only had from Friday to Sunday. I really really really need my vehicle back to stop catching rides and to get back on track not to mention I’m just starting a new job, But it will require me to travel a lot and I won’t be able to be dropped off and picked up . Everyday especially with the season changing I’ve had horrible anxiety and worry and a Pitt in my stomach wondering what can I do to get my car out . It’s not that I don’t work hard I work very long hours and I’m underpaid by the time I’m home I have enough time to cook dinner for my boys shower and go to bed . I’m hard working and very underpaid and I don’t make enough to save the money because every week I’m short on the bills I currently have always having barely enough to survive .  If anyone can find it in their heart to bless me with retrieving my vehicle now that the engine has been fully replaced and finally a reliable car it would mean more than the world to me . I’ve always been to ashamed or to prideful to ask for help and that’s why I’ve waited this long , But I’m human and I truly and deeply need help . I’m doing my very best and right now it’s just not good enough to get my car back alone . Good Day,

I have a 1969 Jeep CJ5 with a lot of missing parts and would really like to get her on the road. I’ve had her transmission and t-case rebuilt, but they are not hooked up. She needs drive lines, brake lines, shocks, mufflers and other stuff that are missing. Seems like a lot of work, and I do not have the tools or parts to get it done. She would have to be towed and possibly be stored temporarily until assembled.
