A Maine Dream on Wheels – Help Bring It to Life

There’s something uniquely powerful about food. The way it brings people together, tells a story, and turns simple ingredients into shared memories. For me, that story begins with a deep rooted passion for scratch made meals and the dream of building a sustainable, community-first food trailer right here in Maine.

But this is more than just a trailer. It’s about serving real, hearty meals made from local Maine ingredients: hand crafted sandwiches, wholesome meat and potato plates, rich chowders, and baked sides, all served with pride and purpose. This food trailer would be a mobile extension of Maine’s heritage, supporting local farms, suppliers, and people who appreciate honest food done right.

I’ve spent months building the foundation, crafting the menu, forming relationships with Maine based vendors, and locking in a builder for a custom trailer. What I need now is the final push to bring the vision to life and get this business rolling.

Here’s exactly where the $40,000 in funding will go:

  • $32,000 – Custom built 14 foot food trailer (equipped with griddle, steam well, refrigeration, prep space, and propane system)
  • $5,000 – Initial inventory and supplies sourced directly from Maine vendors (local beef, potatoes, bread, produce, etc.)
  • $3,000 – Permits, inspections, and licenses required by the state and municipalities to legally operate

Founder’s Wall: A Place of Honor Inside the Trailer

Everyone who contributes to this campaign becomes part of something more than just a startup, they become part of its foundation. To recognize and thank each supporter, I’m creating a Founder’s Wall: A custom designed plaque board that will hang proudly inside the food trailer.

Your name (or business name) will be featured on this board as a permanent reminder of the people who helped bring this dream to life.

To show appreciation and distinguish levels of support, each name will be color-coded based on contribution level:

  • 🟡 Gold Lettering – Donations of $500 and up
  • ⚪ Silver Lettering – Donations between $100 and $499
  • ⚫ Black Lettering – Donations under $100

Every time the trailer rolls up to serve a hot, hearty meal, your name will ride along  a quiet tribute to your generosity and belief in this mission. Whether it’s a family name, a tribute to someone special, or simply “anonymous,” your presence will be felt inside the walls of the trailer forever.

This is about more than money. It’s about legacy. It’s about community. And it’s about showing future customers that this business was built by the people, for the people one name, one meal, one step at a time.

Every dollar will go toward tangible, verifiable costs, no fluff, no excess. This is a lean, focused startup plan aimed at delivering great food while building a community driven brand that supports local agriculture and fosters small town pride.

This isn’t about asking for a handout, it’s about asking for a hand up to launch something real, sustainable, and built to last. If you’re someone who believes in second chances, local businesses, or the power of food to change lives, then I hope you’ll consider being part of this journey.

Your support, whether through a donation or even just by sharing this message can help transform a lifelong dream into a working, moving, cooking reality.

Daughters birthday gift

Hello I’m a mother to a daughter who will be turning ten this year. She’s a very good kid, kind to others cleans up after her self and helps when she can. As she gets older she asks for more expensive gifts considering she’s not into dolls and toys anymore it’s understandable. This year she asked if she can have her birthday at a parkour place this year. It’s 350 for the birthday package there but that’s not what I’m asking for. I’m asking for 600$ so I’ll be able to get her a VR headset for her 10th birthday it’s a big number this year so I want it to be special. I can’t afford both the destination she wants and the gift I would like her to give her. She didn’t ask for a VR for her birthday she just asked for the location. However she does want a vr because her cousin has one and let her play on it, she really enjoyed the game gorilla tag, and loves to watch streamers play it online. I think it would be a perfect gift for her. She loves her video games and when she gets older wants to be a streamer. The VR is a good way for her to play games while also being active(she was sweating when she played her cousins) so it’s better than a console or a gaming computer.

I would be so grateful for anyone to send me some money to help with this birthday gift. She’s very special to me and my only child. I’m a cook at a restaurant so I don’t make much but I do my best to support her and myself. Even though I do my best doesn’t mean I can afford everything I want for her. Her father and I split up when she was very young and he does not work right now so I can’t ask him for help. Usually for big gifts the past few years we have split the amount for big gifts but since he’s not working right now he’s unable to help. Like I said she’s a very great kid she’s smart crafty and loves to game. She’s really looking forward to her birthday this year and I know she will be okay without the VR but it’s something I want her to have and be able to get for her. so if anyone is willing I’d be more than grateful!

Thankful Mike needs new wheelchair

Hello Friends-

My name is Michael. I am a 70 year old quadriplegic in a power wheelchair. My existing wheelchair is in dire need of replacement. It has serious mechanical and computer issues. As it essentially functions as my legs to move around in it needs to be dependable and safe. It is neither.

So utilizing my Medicare I began the many layered system to acquire its replacement. My insurance plan required Dr appointments and evaluation, occupational therapy evaluation, and a home evaluation. These have all been completed and approved. That brings me to the reason I’m here.
I’m looking for help with the $3748.00 copay to start production of my new chair. I live in an 50 year old mobile home with my nephew who functions as my caregiver. Utilizing a power lift he gets me up and ready every day. I spend 12-16 hours a day in my chair so comfort, reliability and safety are crucial.

We are living solely on my only income from Social Security. So making it just month to month can be challenging and it takes every penny to pay rent, electricity, Dr visits, food and utilities. I worked 38 years trying to be a productive person and would really like to finish out my years in safety and as much comfort as I have left in this well used old body of mine

I appreciate your time to read my short story and consider the positive impact you can have for small investment.

I want to say thank you in advance for any small assistance you may seem fitting to donate. It is something I’d be extremely and eternally grateful for.

Needing Immediate Financial Assistance

Hello to everyone kind enough to take the time to listen to my story. I am a former Marine, honorably discharged after serving over a dozen years. I started a small business about thirty years ago and have always believed in hard work and self-reliance. I have been knocked down financially many times, but have always managed to pick myself up and keep moving forward. They say timing is everything; unfortunately, our situation does not allow me the luxury of time.

In October of 2021, everything changed. We refinanced our home for some much-needed repairs, including the roof and a small porch cover, which my wife had always wanted. Four days into the project, as they were ending the day, I requested that they tarp the area they were working on since the weather was beginning to change. However, the crew, including the project manager, reassured me that everything was fine. At six-thirty on Saturday morning, my daughter came rushing into the bedroom, telling me her room was flooding. Both windows resembled water fountains, and paint was bubbling from the ceiling and walls. I then went up on the roof and got it tarped. I also had a rather stern phone call with the project manager; he made assurances, and the extra repairs began.

Approximately six weeks later, and with a second crew, they were way behind schedule. After repeated reminders about tarping the roof before leaving each day, which they had failed to do multiple times already, they left the same area as before, uncovered again. The repairs to my daughter’s room were subpar to begin with, but we couldn’t go through that again. I made the effort to go back up on the roof and tarp it again, only this time, I fell two stories onto the concrete slab below. I broke my left femur, dislocated my right shoulder, and had staples put into my head. They sent a third crew to finish the job. Weeks later, our neighbor had discovered snow drifts in our attic due to an improper ridge cap installation.

I lost a year of work, and my wife had to quit her job after twenty-eight years to access her retirement, which kept us afloat for the time being, but they filled her position. I cannot work as fast as I used to, and my wife has had to take on any job that has appeared in front of her. We accumulated over thirty thousand dollars in medical bills, even after insurance.

The company was found negligent, and we were awarded enough money to fix the house properly. However, we had to use over a third of our repair money to pay the legal fees in full, and we had only made the necessary repairs that we had the remaining money for. We cannot sell the house because several projects are still incomplete, and we cannot secure a loan. At the prime age of sixty-three, I am running out of time to start over and rebuild, and my wife is also looking for a second job. We have run out of money and ideas.

It’s a little difficult for me to ask, but I am humbly asking for help. Thank you for taking the time to read my story! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Homeless

Hi, my name is Rachael Smith & for the past 14 years I was living in my family home I grew up in. I moved there with my 3 boyd when I broke up with my abusive partner as my parents were moving to darwin and needed someone to look after their house.

In 2020 my mum passed away with pancreatic cancer and told me that I’d inherit the house once dad passed away  as she said she would happily pass away knowing her kids all had a roof over their heads for life.

Well a year ago my dad had an unexpected workplace accident and found himself unable to work in which he told me he needed to sell my house so he had enough money to retire. My house had gone on the market & a month ago I had to move out. There was places available for rent here’s as there were big fires here a few years ago and all rentals were snapped up by families needing somewhere to live. I moved into my brothers but within a week I had to leave as he has mental problems and he attacked me. The police told me to get my things and not go back there as is isn’t safe for me.i then had to stay with my ex partner but after about a week or so of being there he became abusive…so now I’m homeless. I do work but it’s so quiet at this time of year there’s not much work, I’ve tried to get extra work but there’s just no jobs available. I been trying to save to try and get a deposit to buy a house but atm my works just covering the money I been giving people for letting me and my boys camp on their lounges and floors with airbeds and our things we’ve had to leave behind at my brothers or throw out. I’ve never had no place to call my home and this is ripping my heart out to see my boys and myself with no home. Please please I need help to try to come up with a deposit for a home here where we live. I feel useless as a mother because we have nothing n nowhere to live. Anything would be so helpful to us and I’d so appreciate even 5c this is my PayPal.me/rachaelsmith77 I’d love to walk in one day and tell my boys we have our own place to live in again and give them the warmth and security and see them smile again. The biggest thankyou to whomever can help us out. It means everything to us. Xx

Facing Eviction by July 15

Hi, my name is Alexis, and I’m reaching out with sincere humility. I’ve never asked for financial help like this before, but I’m in a truly difficult situation and facing possible eviction if I’m unable to pay my rent in full by July 15th.

Over the past few months, I’ve experienced a series of unexpected financial setbacks. My hours at my second job were significantly reduced, and despite actively searching for additional income and applying to multiple part-time roles, I haven’t had any luck. I’ve also used payday advance apps to stay afloat, but the high fees have only made it harder to get ahead.

I’ve reached out to my family, but they’re unable to assist. My parents are currently caring for both sets of my grandparents and are stretched thin financially. I don’t have any other family or close support system I can turn to. I’ve also looked into local rental assistance programs in my area, including the Salvation Army, but unfortunately, they do not have any funding available at this time.

I’ve always tried to handle my responsibilities without asking anyone for anything. But right now, I owe just over $1500 in rent, and my leasing office has let me know that if the balance isn’t paid by the 15th, they will have no choice but to move forward with eviction proceedings. I’ve made a commitment to pay in full by that date, but I’m still short and running out of options.

This situation is incredibly stressful and humbling. If you’re in a position to help—whether it’s $5, $50, or simply by sharing this—I would be deeply grateful. Every little bit brings me closer to stability and gives me a chance to recover without losing my home.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I never imagined I’d be in this position, but I’m holding on to hope that compassion and community can get me through.

With gratitude,

Alexis

Saving my father’s home so he can live out his life there.

Hello and thanks for reading.

I’m desperately trying to same my father’s home from foreclosure.
He’s been such a joy to care for these past couple of years.
He suffered a stroke in late 2023 and then rapidly developed
dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. I’m caring for him without pay
and have exhausted all of my personal wealth helping him stay afloat.
He just doesn’t make enough and without my help he will lose his
home to foreclosure soon.

Here’s my request and strategy for keeping his home for him and
surviving going forward. I’m requesting any amount that you feel
comfortable with. I’m looking to acquire $25,000 total and here is
the breakdown of why:
$15,000 to catch up fully with his mortgage
$10,000 to pay off his car loan and a few other small bills.

This will eliminate his other debt and allow him to afford his
mortgage from that point on.

Please help us before we lose it all…

I pray for a miracle. Our family is facing an incredibly challenging time. We’re in the midst of a difficult custody battle to protect our daughter from an abusive situation with her father. This legal battle is crucial for her safety and well-being, but it has taken a huge emotional toll on all of us. The stress and uncertainty have been overwhelming and it’s heartbreaking to see our daughter struggle. At the same time, our family business, which we rely on, has been struggling.  We’ve lost significant income due to unpaid work, a truck accident, and losing workers from Job Corps.  We’re also struggling to find new clients, which has made it difficult to keep up with mounting bills, and we’ve falling behind on payments.  In fact we’re behind on our household bills too because of all this.  The financial strain has added another layer of stress to an already difficult situation.  This combination of events has left us in a tough spot, and we’re reaching out for support.  We’re humbly asking for any support you can offer during this difficult time. We are in need of $10,000. $7,000 is the amount to get the bills all caught up to date and next month of rent.  And $3,000 is what is needed to proceed further with legal fees. Any help you can offer will go directly to these legal fees, catching up on household bills, and keeping our business afloat, allowing us to focus on our children and rebuild.  We understand that times are tough for everyone, but even a small contribution can make a big difference in our lives.  Thank you for considering our situation and any support that you can of

LISTEN WITH YOUR HEART….FOR MY PERTTY, JENNA BENNA

Dear Generous Souls,

I come to you with only pieces of heart as I face one of the most challenging moments of my life following the unexpected loss of my only beloved daughter, Jenna. Losing her has left an indescribable void in the very essence of my soul, and now I must confront the harsh realities of life, including the financial burdens that accompany such a painful tragedy..

Jenna was almost 32yrs old, a vibrant spirit, full of dreams, laughter, and an unparalleled love for those around her. She brightened the lives of our family and friends and was the mother to my 4 little grandkids, who now find themselves facing a world without their loving mother. Her sudden passing has not only devastated our family emotionally but has also created significant financial strain as I scramble to cover the expenses associated with her funeral. This process is overwhelming, and the financial burden is something I never prepared to face.

I never anticipated needing to reach out for help like this, but the all-consuming nature of grief can be incredibly challenging. The costs related to funeral services add up quickly, including the casket, burial plot, memorial services, and other necessary arrangements. These expenses of $15,000 + are burdens I cannot manage alone during this harrowing time. Jenna deserves a beautiful celebration of her life, one that reflects the incredible person she was and the love she shared with everyone around her.

As our family and I navigate our grief, we are constantly reminded of Jenna’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit. It’s heartbreaking to see my grandkids trying to cope with their loss, and I want to provide them with the stability and support they need in this uncertain time. The love and support of community will not only help me cover these pressing funeral costs but will also serve as a reminder to her children of the love their mother inspired.

If you can find it in your heart to contribute, no matter how small the amount, it would mean the world to my grandkids and me. Your generosity will help alleviate my financial burden during this difficult time and provide me with the strength to honor Jenna’s memory in the way she deserves. I put my request under “emergency” because deadline was yesterday, for her body but they said 1 more day, thats today.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.

With deepest gratitude,

$30,000 debt

Hello,

I am a single parent and foster parent that has been working hard to clear out debt from student loans and credit cards to some day be able to become a home owner and give my children a forever home and not have to think about landlords some day evicting us from our current home.

Due to me being the only income in my home makes it difficult for me to stay on top of bills, necessities, pay off debt and student loans faster to accomplish my dreams and goals. I am a dedicated parent and foster parent that looks forward to helping children in need of a loving and caring home but also making sure those children have everything they need to live a good quality life while they are in my home. I currently only have 1 full time job and have thought about getting a second job but that would take me away from my children for longer periods of time and not be able to spend time with them and giving them the attention they need. Any donation would be appreciated from the bottom of my heart.

Help me rebuild my life and find peace and happiness

My name is Suzanne and I am reaching out with hope and humility. Life has presented me with unimaginable challenges, but I remain determined to start anew and create a peaceful, happy future for myself and my daughters. I am seeking monetary assistance to help me escape my current financial distress and regain stability.

My journey began with a promising career in fashion, where I was financially stable and successful. Before my marriage, I enjoyed a fulfilling life, surrounded by friends and family. However, everything changed when I married. My husband turned out to be controlling and abusive, isolating me from loved ones and forcing me to leave my career behind. Living with him felt like imprisonment, yet I endured for the sake of my children.

We had two daughters, and during my pregnancy with our second child, I discovered he was having an affair. His abuse intensified, and it became painfully obvious to our three-year-old. When our second daughter was born, he declared he was leaving and took most of our belongings. He emptied our bank accounts, leaving us bankrupt and homeless. I was left with a newborn and a three-year-old, no job, no money, and no home. The Georgia courts ordered him to pay child support and granted visitation rights, but he evaded his responsibilities, moving out of state with his mistress and losing contact with our daughters.

Despite these hardships, I worked tirelessly, taking on low-paying jobs to provide for my children. I sacrificed personal happiness, never dating or socializing, focusing solely on being a mother. I managed to send my oldest to college with the help of Pell grants and student loans. Yet, life threw another hardship my way: I totaled my car without collision insurance, lost my job due to transportation issues, and am now burdened with mounting debt from loans and bills.

Mentally and emotionally exhausted, I find myself at a crossroads. A friend suggested I seek help through this platform, believing that a kind-hearted person might assist me in digging out of this hole. It’s difficult for me to ask for help, but I am hopeful that with some support, I can start fresh—free from the weight of debt and despair.

If you are able to help, I have a PayPal.me account where any contribution would be deeply appreciated. Your generosity would give me the chance to stabilize my life, pay off my debts, and rebuild a future filled with peace, happiness, and love.

Thank you for considering my story and for any assistance you can provide.

Praying good things still do happen….

Hello friends!🫶🏻

Once upon a time, 8 years ago my husband and his best friend opened a bbq joint! It went great until it didn’t… They closed shop and we lost everything. Of course that’s when I found out I was pregnant. We have rebuilt ourselves step by step over the years from the absolute bottom… still in debt but working through it. Well, I started getting my wages garnished for the car we got reposessed at the time.. owed $14k and came after me 7 years later for $28.5k.😭 We finally scrounged up some money for a car and loan payments and now have been blessed with a dead engine bill to the tune of $11k. I have 105k miles on it (just outside warranty) with no check engine light or overheating.. just a quiet knock. Of course this was after we buried my husband’s mother this past December as well as paid $30k for dental implants for my husband for hereditary gum disease…. I still owe $12k on a car that I need $11k for a brand new engine. I manage a steakhouse with an amazing crew that I would be no where without. I support my people daily and strive to never see them struggle in such a tough world where people are not getting any nicer. I am asking for whatever someone is willing to give…. I have bills I can’t catch up on. My husband needs the other half of his mouth done eventually which will be another $15k. I know the world is struggling. I know people are worse off than me…

Every day I work hard and try to be the light every one needs me to be. I’ve never “begged” for money, not once in my life… It’s my bed, and I’m laying in it. But if someone out there would be willing to ease the constant anxiety I have every day while still serving a smile on my face….. I would forever be eternally grateful. I would forever pay it forward. And I will continue to be the good person I strive to be and be the light for my people.. my family.. and for myself.

Lord please… I don’t know what to do to catch a break😭I just want to feel the sun again…

Sincerely,

A broken wife, mom, friend, and boss….

If nothing else.. thank you for letting me vent.

God bless you all🫶🏻God bless this world..we need him now more than ever🌎✝️💞

Student loan aid

Like many students across the country, I believed that going to college was the key to building a better future. I worked hard to get accepted into a university, dedicated myself to earning a degree, and took out student loans with the belief that I was making a wise investment in myself. Now that I’ve graduated, the reality is much more complicated. I am currently struggling under the weight of my student loans, and I am reaching out for help because I simply cannot manage this burden on my own.

During my time in school, I did everything I could to minimize debt—working part-time jobs, applying for scholarships, and living on a tight budget. Still, the cost of tuition, textbooks, and living expenses added up quickly. By the time I completed my degree, I had accumulated more debt than I ever expected. I understood that repayment would be difficult at first, but I underestimated just how much pressure it would put on every area of my life.

Since graduating, I have been trying my best to make payments on my student loans, but due to rent, groceries, transportation, car notes and other essentials I am unable to pay off my debt. I am doing my best to stay afloat, but I feel like I’m falling behind financially and emotionally which keeps me up at night. The stress of constant repayment deadlines and growing interest has become overwhelming.

I am open to any form of assistance. I am pleading with anyone who will be willing to help out of the kindest of their heart to get rid of this burden on my back. Eliminating this student loan will tremendously improve my mental state, and would put me in a better place to be able to get other things done. I currently owe approximately 71,000 in student loan debt. Having to work long shifts to pay off this loan while providing for my kids is no easy feat. I have been paying this loan for the past 2 years and it feels like the amount isn’t dropping. I am drowning, somebody please help me.

In conclusion, Student loan debt is more than just a financial issue; it’s something that affects mental health, stability, and confidence. I’m doing everything I can to move forward in my life and career, but this burden is holding me back. I’m asking for help because I believe in accountability, but also because I believe people deserve second chances and real opportunities to succeed. With support, I know I can turn this situation around and build a life I’m proud of.  Cashapp:$JulieGarley

Thanks for your consideration

Sincerely yours,

Prayers and Support Request Please

I’m not sure what to say honestly… I need prayers more than I need money. God is good and provides always.

I had a friend suggest this page as my husband and I are in a financial situation I never expected to be in. But here we are.

We fell madly in love, we’re each others first and only partner and are best friends entirely. We both made the decision at one point to leave our regular 9-5 jobs in hopes of starting our own business together, which would allow us to spend more time together and make our own decisions. It was going very well actually, in the beginning. All things considered, we weren’t making a ton of money, but enough to be happy.

Very suddenly, we weren’t making told our rental would need to be vacated for the owner’s family to move in. We had no place set up, so moved in with my husband’s mother temporarily. Temporarily turned into a year, then 2, but mostly due to the sudden decline of health in my mother in law. She was needing more assistance, but refused to accept it. We wanted to move, but saw her declining and felt we would be neglecting her if we did so, even if she didn’t see it. She ended up falling. Breaking her back, getting cellulitis, water on her lungs, heart failure, COPD, the list goes on. We are so focused on her health, we neglect the health of our business endeavors. And they do suffer. Her health continues to decline and suddenly she’s in the hospital for 6 months and it’s looking bad. Family was worried and everyone was preparing for the worst.

She did recover however and was told to have 24/7 care in home once she returned. Again… she refused… saying she doesn’t need help and that we are now “staying just to take her things from her”. It’s become hostile as my husband and I debated leaving since doctors were worried about her being alone, but us being here also makes her angry as we’re in her space and bother her now.

We pray for what the right choice is… we don’t know. But the stress and focus we put on her well being has hurt our business ventures and our finances, while she doesn’t seem to care. We are considering renting somewhere close by instead so she can have her space and stuff back, but still be close enough that if she changes her mind and needs help, we can be there. It’s difficult to be there for someone when they don’t want it. But we don’t have enough money to get on our feet and just start anew elsewhere…

We don’t need much… but rent is expensive here and they always want first and last months rent upfront, which we just don’t have. We have enough to eat and pay basic bills… but we need a starting point to help us give her her space, but be close enough to help if something were to happen again.

We will gladly accept any financial support we can get, but we also need prayer. Please pray for God’s guidance in our lives and provision. Please pray for us to have wisdom in this situation with our mother and for her heart to be softened when we offer assistance. I k ow she doesn’t want to lose her independence, but she was also very sick and still is…. But she won’t accept it.

we need help… we appreciate anything and very grateful for support.
