My name is Nikki, and I’m reaching out because I need help repairing my only vehicle — a 1991 Toyota 4Runner. I’m on Social Security income, and after years of faithful use, this truck now needs several repairs and is no longer safe to drive.
I’ve already applied for a car loan — twice — but I’m not confident I’ll be approved, and replacing this vehicle isn’t financially possible for me. Asking for help like this is really hard for me, but these repairs are truly necessary for my safety, independence, and ability to function daily.
Right now the 4Runner needs:
- New tires (current ones are worn & unsafe)
- Window repairs (they no longer work properly)
- Engine leak diagnosis and repair
- Brake warning light issue (possibly emergency brake or brake pads)
- Front-end repair/alignment (mechanic says the front-right tire is being damaged)
I will be posting photos of the tires, engine area, and any other issues so everything is clear and transparent.
This truck isn’t just how I get from place to place — it’s how I take care of my life, appointments, and responsibilities. It’s also how I help others: I drive fellow seniors to grocery stores and errands, and I clean the home of a disabled senior once a week so she can continue living safely on her own. Without reliable transportation, I can’t be there for them.
