In Serious Financial Difficulties Since my two Fractures Last Year

Hi There,

. I am a single Mother. I have never recovered from my divorce back in 2000 because I had to support my children through university. I also took under my wings my daughters friends- both sisters one of whom had a young children  were going through abusive situations.  Over time I went self employed and managed to live above the bread line for a number of years . Last year was a particularly difficult time  for me because I experienced two major fractures- my leg at the start of the year so was off work for four months and in October my right dominant hand, wrist and fingers. Luckily my wrist although very painful too was not broken.

I applied to Universal credit in October, and because I work as a self employed health professional they said I need a work coach and health assessment too. They had stated I would be getting money in firstly then February 11. I have still not received anything. My extended family has their own difficulties and are unable to help me.

I have not worked since September. And no income has been coming in from any source. My accident had occurred abroad when I went on a mission trip with to assist renovating a clinic. start the initial ground ground work for building a hospital and carried out wellness checks. Unfortunately the road infrastructure in that particular county was awful and I fell over gravel in the last week of my trip. It has been a nightmare since I retured. I was not able to go anywhere for Christmas or New year.

To compound matters my car engine packed up about three weeks ago and not worth repairing. I have been technically homeless for five years and been floating around from friends and relatives homes. I was on the point of renting a house  last year but spent my wages in September to book the trip.

Currently all my bills are all over the place, I have no money for food or transport.  A few days ago I couldn’t even attend my hospital appointment because of lack of funds.

I am into natural health and wellbeing too. I am normally a  fit person. And  looking into making my dormant company active but all this takes time I am not ready yet to return to work. My hand is still unable to bend at all. I feel despondent at times and just waiting for a miracle.

Asking for Help in an Unimaginable Time

This was the last thing I ever thought I’d have to write as I’m a proud guy and like to do everything myself and sort out any problems and issues myself but my heart is heavy, and I have no choice but to ask for help.

 

On the 24th of January, my brother-in-law tragically lost his life in a completely preventable accident. The company he worked for sent him onto the roof of a building without any safety equipment, and he fell to his death. Now, my sister is not only grieving the love of her life, but she is also facing a financial burden that neither of us were prepared for.

 

They had only been married for five short years—years that should have been the start of a lifetime together. This wasn’t something she could have ever planned for, and now, on top of her heartbreak, she is struggling with the cost of giving him the funeral he deserves. The total cost is coming to £13,000, and despite giving my sister everything I can spare, it’s simply not enough. I have been desperately searching for a second job to help, but I haven’t been able to find anything that fits around my current work schedule.

 

To make things even harder, the police have launched a manslaughter investigation, which means my sister cannot even begin to find closure. The weight of grief and financial stress is overwhelming her, and I just want to take at least one of those burdens away from her.

 

If anyone can help, even in the smallest way, it would mean the world to us. I know times are tough for many, and not everyone will be able to contribute but even just offering kind words would be deeply appreciated.

Cancer Treatment Expenses – UK

Thank you so much for sparing your time to read this. Asking for help especially financially is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I’m at a point where I truly need help.

I’m a young IT Technician working for the NHS, earning an AFC Band 4 salary of £26,530 a year. My life took an unimaginable turn after a routine appointment unexpectedly led to a diagnosis of hepatic angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive liver cancer.

The news shattered me. With little family left to turn to for emotional or financial support, I felt lost. The NHS, much to my disappointment, couldn’t provide the treatment I needed, as they deemed it too expensive and not viable. I was left with one choice: private treatment. As terrifying as it was, I wanted to give myself a chance to experience more of life.

While my Bupa health insurance covered the initial diagnostics involved (£7,500), they won’t cover any of the treatment itself. The total cost for the treatment currently stands at an overwhelming £409,677.

I did everything I could to gather as much as possible: every penny I had saved for a house deposit, along with money my parents and grandparents had set aside for me as a child. In total, I managed to put together £21,380. This has left me with a debt of £388,397 and now no house deposit too, and my monthly take-home pay is nowhere near enough to cover even the cheapest repayment plans.
Now, I’m struggling to cover even essential costs like food, car insurance, and diesel just to keep myself alive and working.

As unusual as it feels to ask for money over the internet, I really do not have any more options. I worked so hard to build my self a skilled career, to save as much as I could for a house deposit and make sure I could secure myself a comfortable life. I’m glad to know I’ll be a survivor of my cancer and feel I’m forever in debt to the medical staff who treated me but the costs associated with the treatment is just slowly destroying what was left of my life.

Single Generation X Female Looking After Elderly Parents With Dementia For 6 Years

This is not something that I would not ordinarily do, and actually it feels quite strange since I have always been a self-sufficient, hardworking and focused individual. I have always held senior management roles as well as high level sales roles, however due to the unfortunate fact that my father who is now 87 started his onset of dementia in 2018, and my mum also has a lot of ongoing health concerns I had to relocate to another city, giving up a full-time position. Looking after elderly parents especially those that have dementia etc really takes it toll emotionally, mentally, and physically due to the constant emotional stress of dealing with someone who has dementia as well as the constant liaising with doctors, health care workers, carers, nursing homes, it is exhausting, time consuming and very challenging having to repeat the same thing over and over again. I am now trying to get back into a work after so much time off, and I am finding it difficult just to get out there, even talk to people and I used to be so good at it.

I am really trying to get back in the job market but still need to look after my father, sometimes we put him in care but that is very costly and not having worked for so long it is really difficult trying to pay these bills.

Also due to my own realisations I strongly believe there is a need for services such as managing stress and anxiety, compassionate listening services for people that feel lonely and isolated, and I really want to develop these services both online and offline. I want to start a listening service for people that just need to talk in a safe non-judgemental environment, as well as hold sessions for people to manage stress and anxiety, offering tips such as mindfulness, breath work etc.

To develop these businesses and communities I am looking to raise at least £30,000 that will give me the chance to ease myself back into work, develop networks and form strategic alliances with organisations such as wellness centres, health services. I will also need marketing information such as flyers, leaflets as well as hire out spaces to hold these stress management events etc.

I really believe these are services that people in this day and age will benefit from immensely. With the advancement in tech and people feeling more and more lonely and isolated than ever as well as people going through transitional life changes like I did, people need friendships as well as the tools to manage stress and anxiety which is a huge growing concern. Hi, this is not something I would ever usually do but I am desperate. I am 23 and work in construction. A couple years ago I took a £30,000 business loan out to try and start up myself as I have always been told I am very good at my job but things took a turn very quickly, I left my job to do some work for myself subcontracting for another company, they promised me guaranteed independent work and explained they had an expansion plan that I would’ve been part of, all was going well until one day I got a phone call saying I was no longer needed as the expansion plan failed and so I was forced to go back working for someone else, I earn £2,500 a month and my bills are pretty much that, I have a son who I pay maintenance for and have just found out that my partner is Pregnant and the pressure is mounting on me that I may not be able to afford to provide for this baby. I came here to make money, but I always get just that kind of jobs, ( to be a waitress, to work in hotel, to work in Pizza Hut, and so on) from what you couldn’t make a step forward in the life, you know. But now I started to make a big change in my life, because I get a chance to work for Google Cloud, but to I get this I have to start a course, and that course is cost 2800£. So I was thinking a lot so I go to my bank and I asked for a loan. But because the course it will be for the Google, I was needed to will buy a good laptop as well, which one it was 1990£. So basically I go to my bank to ask a loan of 5500£. And they said to me that “Okay, we can give it to you, but you will have to pay us back with 7500£”, and because I didn’t have any other options, so I said yes, okay.  And now I’m working in the Superdrug, but in there I get a salary of maximum 1400£ sometimes is just 1200£ per a month, because they don’t give us enough hours to work, but my rent is cost 830£ every month. And from January I will have to start to pay the loan back. So from now, from December I started to find some online jobs to make more money, and thanks God, I find it. I really like it, it’s really simple, and it’s easy, and it is possible to make with it, that much money, in one month, how much is my salary now, but like double. And it is about just to be in one platform, and complet some clicking tasks, and the system is generating money. And I already generated more than 1600 dollars, but the platform sometimes its makes double tasks. And THIS IS MY PROBLEM: because in this case the amount how much it is inside, it’s going in a negative amount, and this is what was happening with me as well. I have in the system 1600 dollars, but I can’t touch it, because I need to put into the system exactly the same amount to I can continue to finish the tasks. And in the end to I can take it out my salary from there which would be the first one is 800 dollars, but the second one would be 3000 dollars. The money, the salary type, which I am just dreaming about in my wole life, until now. So,  MY PROBLEM IS: that I really really really need that amount of, 1600 dollars, to top up my working account, to not lose the account completely. And I really really really don’t want to lose the account, because this is my dream job, with the dreamed salary. But because I asked my bank for a loan already, so they will not give me more money, again. So my bank option is cut it already, and I asked already my friends, but they don’t have this much amount unfortunately. And my family, I can’t ask them, because they are poor 😔, but actually I came in this country to make money for them, to help them to have a normal life, not like a homeless people. So my family option to ask money, is not existing, my friends option to ask money is not existing as well, and to ask money, more, from my bank is impossible as well. So this place to ask money, is my last chance.

Im scared…I dont know what else to do

Hi there.

 

I lost my job last month because the company could no longer afford the rising costs and thus let me go. This has left me in a tricky position. I have been paying off a loan I took out for my grandma’s disc replacement surgery, as well as my rent, food, utilities, and dog vet bills.

I have never been put in this position and frankly, I’m terrified.. I could be evicted because I can’t afford rent this month and I’m barely able to make ends meet monthly as is.

I am trying my best to find a job (I’m not even being picky with the jobs either). I really do not want to land out in the streets and I have no one I can turn to.

 

I can’t meet any of my payments at current and frankly, I’m at the point where even suicide might be an option.

No savings over £20k in debt and barely living from one month to the next

So as the title suggests I’m basically almost 50 with no savings, loads of debt and only just treading water, financially.

The only way, I can see of getting somewhere is if I won the lottery which we all know the odds on that are or by the generosity of strangers.

BAD STUFF THATS HAPPENED TO ME

You could not make it.  A series of calamities has hit my life this year. I am an ex lawyer. I live by myself.

6 months ago I had a good business. Now I have nothing. I have been  duped by a con man. My Regulator has suspended my license to practice. I have debts that this con man has saddled me with. I face potential bankruptcy proceedings. I have no funds left.

And the ironic part of all this tale of disaster is I have been looking for a partner for some  years to share my  life with. And amongst all the wreckage of the last year  I finally found one. We talk daily. she lives in Scotland. She wants to fly to me. Out of all this disaster I have found the love of my life.

I have lent her money in the past when I had some as I helped her through her nursing exams. Her mother died several months ago. And after that she discovered that her mother through her father left her a substantial legacy  that we knew nothing about that is secured in Canada. We have raised funds for the tax to release  this asset but not enough . If it is released all my life’s problems and hers would be solved in a flash. The security company that hold her legacy need a deposit to pay tax. She and I and her family cousins through personal sacrifice have raised most of the money but we are just £2000.00 short of the deposit payment to release her legacy.
