A Desperate Plea for Help: Facing Eviction, Caring for a Senior with Dementia and grandchildren.

Life has an uncanny way of throwing unexpected challenges our way, testing our resilience and strength. Today, I find myself standing at the ledge desperately seeking a lifeline to prevent the shattering of my family’s stability. With a heavy heart, I write this plea for help, pouring my emotions onto the page in the hopes that someone out there will hear my cry for help.
I am a  out of work nurse, striving to provide a secure and nurturing environment for my mother and grandchildren despite the countless obstacles life has placed in our path. Recently, my life has taken an unexpected turn, as my beloved mother, in her late 70s, has been diagnosed with dementia. Witnessing her slow decline has been both heart-wrenching and overwhelming.
In order to ensure that my mother receives the care and attention she needs, I have had to make the painful decision to leave my job. This choice, made out of love and responsibility, has had severe financial repercussions for us. Each month, we struggle to make ends meet, and the weight of unpaid bills and mounting debt is becoming unbearable.
The most pressing of these burdens is our rent payment, which stands at an overwhelming with late fees court cost and attorney fees,  $9765 for the past 2 months. Despite my best efforts, I find myself falling further behind with each passing day. The specter of eviction looms over us, threatening to strip away the only sanctuary my grandchildren have ever known. The thought of being rendered homeless fills my heart with despair, I fear for my grandchildren’s future and their ability to thrive in such tumultuous circumstances.
I have reached out to every resource available to me, seeking assistance from charitable organizations, government programs, and community initiatives. Sadly, the demand for help far outweighs the available resources, leaving us in a desperate position.
It is with a mixture of hope and vulnerability that I turn to you, dear reader, for help. I implore you to consider the impact your support could have on our lives.  All my adults life i have been a care giver at work as well as home. I never imagined i would be in such a financial crisis.
I understand that times are tough for many, and I do not take this request lightly. It is only out of sheer desperation and love for my family that I find myself laying bare our struggles in the hopes that compassionate individuals, like yourself, may be moved to lend a helping hand.
With every fiber of my being, I express my heartfelt gratitude for taking the time to read this and consider our plight. Your kindness and generosity could be the difference between a shattered future and a glimmer of hope for my grandchildren and my beloved mother.
Please, if there is any way you can assist us, do not hesitate. Together, we can navigate this storm and emerge on the other side, stronger and more resilient than ever.
With profound gratitude,

Urgent Need $ for Food (us and our rescue animals), Utilities & Medical Insurance

Summary:  Animal Rescue Family drowning in money troubles starting with $62 left in the bank and zero available credit, zero available 401-K, zero savings, and no source of income.  Unemployment ran out three weeks ago and tomorrow I need to buy dog food and human food with the remaining $62.  For some reason, the State of Florida does not give food stamps to anyone who owns a home, despite the fact that even people who own homes also need to eat.  Today I got a disconnection notice for utilities for $125 from Sarasota County and on September 30th, we lose health insurance coverage if I don’t pay my COBRA bill of $1,210.  Two days ago, the shower broke and Mike is trying to figure out the cheapest way to fix it.  We are running low on food and cleaning supplies and I don’t know what else to do; this is the first time in 20 years of us being together, I have not been able to support our household.  ANY HELP of any amount is truly appreciated!

About us and our household:  Mike and I have rescued 19 fur babies (16 dogs and 3 cats).  Each one has been rescued from one place or another – 4 of the 10 dogs and 2 of the 3 cats we moved across country from California to Florida.  The newer ones have found us since we moved to Florida 5 years ago.  We have always opened our home to animals in need and tend to rescue animals that won’t get adopted as we don’t want them being put down (since moving to Florida, we have taken on three dogs in more of a hospice role – one lived only 3 weeks, another 2 months and the last one went thru Chemo for 6 months and 2 months later was put down).  We have taken dogs in for chemotherapy and whatever treatments/operations they have needed.  Markey has Congestive Heart Failure and Oliver has a grade 6 Heart Murmur.  We currently manage three difficult dogs that have been surrendered multiple times (Rama, Marley and Maggie).  Mike rescued our new kitten Quincy when we saw a car ahead of us throwing kittens out the window while going 55 mph on the freeway; he was small enough to fit in the palm of Mike’s hand.  In his lifetime, I believe Mike has rescued and raised over 50 dogs – rehabilitating several aggressive dogs and we manage a few difficult dogs that have been surrendered multiple times.  When I met Mike 20 years ago he had 15 large dogs and 5 cats.  We moved our entire family from California to Florida so we could be near my Mom living in Assisted Living, who is 93 this year and has survived several strokes and also suffers from dementia/Alzheimer’s and needed family nearby – so we moved.

I never imagined I would go online to ask for help to feed my family and pay our bills, however, here I am.  Yesterday I was reading in Psychology Today that the most important thing to do for self-care is to ask for help when you need it, I almost fell out of my chair.  I am notorious for being too proud to ask for help in all areas of life, however, I am in an extremely desperate financial situation with approximately $60 left to my name (no more savings, no room on my credit card, no more 401-K, no more HSA and no job prospects despite interviews); I don’t think companies like to hire 61-year-olds.

Background on how we ended up in financial hardship:

I lost my job in April of this year with no severance pay.  I got 3 months of unemployment insurance from the state of Florida, however, the $3,300 annual allotment of unemployment ($275/week) ran out this month).  I have drained all my retirement savings accounts.  Today I have less than $62 left to my name (with no more savings, no more 401-K, no more HS A – no more assets other than my house and my car).  I do have equity in my house that I would love to tap into, however, with no paycheck and poor credit score, no one will extend me a line of credit on the house.  Earlier this week I went to buy food to feed everyone, there are 21 mouths: 2 humans, 3 cats (Tom, Jonathan, and Quincy) and 16 dogs (Girls: Ruby, Bella, Zoey, Maggie, Zena, Maya and Luna.  Boys: Markey, Sam, Oliver, Rama, Bodhi, Marley, Teagan, Gunther, and Zolo).

The state of Florida won’t give us food stamps because we own a house and now we have no money for food.

I am starting to sell valuables and jewelry on Ebay and Amazon (I want to get an appraisal on my engagement ring).  I don’t know how I am going to feed us and keep the electric on next month.  They also could repossess my only vehicle.  In October, my 3rd quarterly HOA dues will come and I haven’t paid since January – I am hoping they will not try to put a lien on the house.  Today I got a disconnection notice from the County (water, sewer, trash).  I haven’t paid my mortgage in 3 months.  I need to feed my family and keep the utilities going and keep our car and still have internet and electricity so I can find a new job.

How can you help?

Below is a list of what we need immediate financial help with. Although food and utilities are of the utmost importance, I can’t afford to lose my health insurance as I had 1st kidney stone surgery in June and 2nd follow-up surgery in July, a ureteral stent lodged for 2 weeks in between the surgeries.  The surgeon said my kidney was oozing blood and puss and after he zapped most of the stones in that first surgery, he wanted me and my Kidney to stabilize before he went back in to get the really big stone.  I owe both hospitals a lot of money, my entire deductible and out-of-pocket maximum of $7,500.  Although I would like to pay my hospital bills, it is far more important we maintain health insurance in the event of any new medical emergency; we’ve already met the annual out-of-pocket maximum so Blue Cross/Blue Shield will pay 100% of any new medical expenses.  I don’t want us to lose access to that medical coverage.

It is critical I pay $1,210 by the end of September to maintain health insurance for emergencies.  We also need money for human & pet food (immediate need of $200 – see first two bullets) and basic bills as follows:

  • Regular food & cleaning supplies ($125/week or 500/month) – we can buy most at Walmart,
  • Dog & Cat food & supplies ($280/month) – we buy this from the Tractor Supply Store,
  • Health insurance COBRA bill ($1210/month) due in 7 days,
  • Sarasota County Utilities ($125 disconnection notice),
  • Car insurance is ($109/month) due in 10 days,
  • Electric bill (approx. $300-325/month) – Florida Power & Light due Oct 7th,
  • Car payment ($429.71/month) loan with credit union due on 22nd with 10 days grace,
  • Internet ($80/month–so I can keep looking for and land a job) due Oct 6th.
  • HOA dues are $125/quarter so I need $375 to get current so they don’t put a lien on our house.  Next quarter is due on October 1st, when we will be 3 quarters late – I need to pay them at least $125 so they don’t take action.
  • We also need about $70 worth of plumbing supplies & piping so Mike can fix the shower faucet that broke and finish installing the Kitchen sink.

When I look at this list it comes out to just over $3,500 although I have not listed everything we need, these are just the critical items.  I will sleep better if I know I have a way to feed everyone for the next 30 days.

We also have a senior Chihuahua, Ruby who is between 17 and 19 years old, who will need to be euthanized at some point in the next 30 days (she can’t hear, can’t see, has no teeth and lately has been struggling getting around and getting stuck places crying) that will probably run us another $165 in vet and cremation bills.  We have two other seniors who should be getting senior panels soon, I don’t have that amount, however, I think those run about $265 each.  I also need to get three girl puppies spayed (Zena, Maya and Luna) and two boy puppies neutered (Gunther & Teagan) and the boy kitten (Quincy) also needs to be neutered.  At $160 per pet that will cost another $960 (we go to the Animal Rescue Coalition who gave me a discount last month on the first neuter surgery).  Another $1,000 (one-time) would help us get the remaining puppies neutered or spayed.  Gunther is currently on the schedule for November 9th, however, I have no way to pay for that neuter surgery.

I actually cried today when I gave two dogs the last two bones in a separate room so no one else would see.  I didn’t include the bones or “treats” we normally give them in the list above because they can live without them; kind of like Mike and I surviving on peanut butter & jelly or tuna sandwiches and cheese quesadillas.  The bags of treats are expensive @18/bag and only lasts a few days with 16 dogs.  It would be awesome to be able to give them their treats, that would be another $400/month.

Anyone who sees we need a way to offset my salary, I am starting to build content using Chat GPT to potentially sell some things online to help offset my missing salary.  I should have something up in the next 90 days.  Ideally, I would purchase two software subscriptions for this side hustle work that would run about 7.99 and 24.99/month.  I will continue to look for a new job as I get this going.

Longer term, I have $7,500 in medical bills I will eventually need to pay.  I currently have a forbearance on the mortgage thru the end of the year, however, by January I will have to get the outstanding balance sorted out (Mortgage is $2,749/month).  Also, we still owe $9,000 on our car and I would really like to pay that off so I don’t have to stress about losing the car when I can’t make the payment.

We are waiting on Insurance to make the final settlement offer from the damage done by Hurricane Ian’s 134 mph winds, however, we know they will subtract the deductible of $8,250 and the policy does not cover replacing the screens on the lanai which will be another $5,000-6,000 exclusion/deduction.  It has been almost a year since we have been able to use the Lanai and pool, the Lanai has filled up with wasp nests, mosquitos, frogs, flies, snakes, and critters.  I’m grateful we still have a house; it has been a very stressful year for our family.

When I see all these larger amounts, I just get more overwhelmed.

For the next 90 days, I want to focus on raising enough money for food and utilities, maintain healthcare and keep our car – can you please help us get thru the next 30-90 days?

This is the link to my paypal account if you can help us in any way.  Any amount will be appreciated!

Need help with medical bills

I got diagnosed with a brain tumor a few months ago and needed immediate surgery to have it removed. I have been out of work since then due to complications and it’s looking like I will be out for at least 3 more months. Needless to say this has all been very expensive, my insurance has covered some but I’m unable to pay the balances and I’ve exhausted all my options. Bills are piling up and I don’t have much of a support system, so here I am. I am please asking for any donation that you may be able to  provide to help me get through this. Any amount will help.

My cashapp is Tessa0522

All donations will go towards paying off medical builds or household bills that have been piling up due to my inability to work. Thank you all so much for your generosity.

When life gives you lemons..

About 2 years ago, my dad had 2 strokes. The first one was very mild but the second one was more severe. It left him unable to use the left side of his body. Then when we realized that he was getting worst instead of better, he was diagnosed with Dementia. And sadly it was progressing fast. So I moved back home to help my mom with my dad. That is pretty much what my life consist of now. Which I don’t mind at all, but it’s the hardest thing ive ever had to go through especially since im a “daddys girl”.Anyways money is getting super tight and i can tell my mom is starting to stress. That worries me because both my parents aren’t young, they are in there 70’s so it would be a blessing to help her stress a little less. Even if you don’t pick me, God bless you for doing what you’re doing!

please feel free to ask me anything if you need too. GOD BLESS!

Crippling Student Debt

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you today with a heartfelt request for financial assistance to help me manage the overwhelming burden of my student loans. As a dedicated business owner operating a mobile grooming salon, I find myself at a critical juncture where my substantial student loan debt of $90,000 is affecting both my personal life and the future of my business.

The primary reason for my appeal is the exorbitant student loan debt that has accumulated over the years. Allow me to share the circumstances that have led to this situation and why your support would make an enormous difference in my life.

When I embarked on my journey towards higher education, I did so with the intention of improving my prospects and contributing positively to society. However, as the cost of education continued to rise, I had no choice but to rely on student loans to cover my tuition, textbooks, and living expenses.

Upon completing my education, I made the bold decision to start my own business—a mobile grooming salon. This endeavor was driven by my passion for animal care and the desire to create a flexible schedule that would enable me to be there for my family, including my young son. Initially, I had high hopes for the success of my business, believing it would provide the financial stability necessary to manage my student loan debt effectively.

Nonetheless, the path of entrepreneurship has been riddled with challenges. While my business is steadily growing, I find myself in a position where I am barely breaking even. The combination of operating costs, loan repayments, and daily business expenses has put a significant strain on my finances. Consequently, I have been unable to make consistent payments towards my student loans, causing the debt to spiral.

This burgeoning student loan debt has profound consequences for both my personal and professional life. Firstly, it has severely impacted my credit score, making it increasingly challenging to secure personal financing, such as purchasing a home. Owning a home has long been a cherished dream, but the weight of my student loans has made it nearly impossible to qualify for a mortgage.

Furthermore, my business, which I am deeply committed to, is also bearing the brunt. The inability to secure financing or access credit for my business limits my ability to expand and improve my services, hindering its potential for growth and success.

While I understand that many individuals face financial challenges, I am reaching out to you in the hope that you might consider offering financial assistance, whether it be $90,000, $25,000, $10,000, or any amount you are comfortable with. Your contribution would significantly ease my immediate financial burden and empower me to make positive changes in my life. Reducing my student loan debt would enable me to achieve my dream of homeownership and provide my business with the necessary resources and financing for growth.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request for financial assistance. Your support would not only transform my life but also serve as a reminder of the incredible impact that kindness and compassion can have on an individual striving to overcome financial challenges and achieve their goals.

With gratitude and hope

Single mom in need

Hello,

My name is Danelle, a single mom of two girls. I am not usually one to look for help because I never really had to, until my mom died in 2018. I was a full time college student, employee, and mom. Unfortunately, my mom took ill while my children were still very young, and I had to also care for her. As a result, I had to leave school several times because of my mom’s health-never obtaining my degree. My situation has made it very difficult to obtain many of my goals. Because I was living with my mom until her death, I’ve never experienced many things that your average adult would have by my age. I was also left to care for her home with minimal income. Through my adversities, I have been able to maintain good enough credit to obtain a vehicle to get stable employment, among other things. I was working a government job last year, where I experienced some discrimination, and lost my job in June 2022. I was able to maintain the bare necessities with the help of odd jobs and my very small village. I had to fight to receive unemployment until December 2022. My expenses were spiraling in the meantime. I incurred an insurance lapse because I wasn’t working for so long. I finally got another job making enough to sustain had I not already been so far in the hole. My monthly expenses include: rent ($1500), car  payment ($553), car insurance ($589) Groceries (approx. $500). I need assistance with my rent to avoid eviction. My vehicle needs to be registered next month, but I can’t afford to pay the lapse fee with MVA ($780). I really need help with just getting back on my feet. I would like to be able to go back to school, but the stress is too much to help me focus on anything else. My mental health issues-anxiety, depression, and PTSD- may play a small part in my setbacks as well. It’s been so bad that my meds wouldn’t really help. I would need about $15,000 total to really have the fresh start that I need. It would be gratefully appreciated.

Please Help, am a new mom, I sincerely need a car to be able to go back to work

Becoming a new mom has brought joy and challenges into my life in equal measure. The responsibilities of caring for my precious bundle of joy are immeasurable, but they come with the added weight of providing for our family. As I prepare to return to work, the need for a reliable car has become paramount. The daily commute to my workplace has suddenly become a logistical puzzle that requires careful planning and execution.

The moment I held my baby in my arms for the first time was a life-altering experience. Those tiny fingers and innocent eyes filled my heart with immense love and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. The sleepless nights, endless diaper changes, and round-the-clock feedings are a testament to the sacrifices that motherhood demands. Yet, amidst all these challenges, I am reminded of the importance of financial stability and providing a secure future for my child.

Returning to work was always part of the plan, and I knew that balancing a career and motherhood would be challenging. However, I was not prepared for the complexities that would arise when it came to transportation. Our current situation leaves us without a reliable car, and this has become a pressing issue. Public transportation is an option, but the limited schedules and the need to carry baby supplies make it impractical. It is clear that having a car would not only simplify our daily routine but also ensure my baby’s safety and comfort during our commute.

The search for the perfect car for our family has become a journey of its own. Safety is my top priority, and As a new mom, I need a vehicle that offers ample space for a car seat and baby gear, making every journey a comfortable and stress-free experience for my little one. Fuel efficiency is another important consideration, as it will help us manage our expenses and reduce our carbon footprint.

Financing a car as a new mom can be daunting, especially with the added expenses of diapers, formula, and baby clothes. I have been diligently saving and exploring financing options to make this dream a reality.
The thought of driving my baby to daycare or pediatrician appointments fills me with anticipation and a touch of anxiety. The freedom and convenience of having our car will not only make my daily work commute smoother but also enable us to explore new adventures together as a family. It is a symbol of independence and the ability to provide for my child, and I am determined to make it happen.

In the midst of sleepless nights and endless baby giggles, the pursuit of a car to facilitate our journey into the world as a new family is a significant milestone. As a new mom, I understand the importance of being prepared for the unexpected, and having a reliable car is an essential step in that direction. It represents the bridge between the demands of motherhood and the responsibilities of providing for my family, ensuring that we can navigate this new chapter in our lives with confidence and grace. Thanks everyone who can help.

Super Garden Volunteer Needs to Hold Off Social Security Until 70

When I’m 70 my Social Security figure will cover my modest expenses and way of life. I’m 68 and a half now. My sister and brothers never made as much as I did, so I can’t fall back on them. I just want to be able to continue my intensive volunteering at a nearby garden.

I always planned to work until I was 70. The museum where I was a constant freelancer always kept older people as long as they wanted to work, and I was counting on that. Unfortunately, museum cut-backs from huge losses during the Covid pandemic have been extreme, and this has essentially forced me to retire early. There will not be a turn-around there any time soon. I’ve been very careful about spending and I’ve looked hard for work, but I’ve run through all my savings now. No one is hiring 68-year-olds, no matter what the news says.

For the past 30 years, I’ve been a constant volunteer at a large community garden, caring for a collection of rare trees, training young people, and keeping the garden open to the public. In the spring, we often have over 500 visitors a day, a bit less when the bulbs have finished blooming and people start going away for the weekend. We have a constant dog parade from our neighbors who walk through. Our 90 large and small trees are famous locally, and their care is my main project, along with teaching new members and high-school kids how to prune them. Recently, I had the parent of twins I’ve watched grow up ask if they could do their senior community-service project with me. Of course the answer was yes.

Every week while I was working at the museum I often also spent from 10 to 20 hours at the garden, except during rush times at the end of a project. Since I stopped getting any freelance work, I usually spend 30 hours a week as group head and primary gardener. All I want to do is to continue volunteering there.

My monthly expense is $1,800 and I’m 20 months away from 70, so I need $26,000 to reach my best Social Security figure. Without help now, I’ll only have $200 a month after very basic bills. If I can make 70, I’ll have $400 a month over rent and utilities, plenty enough for me. With that, I could volunteer in peace at the garden for all the years ahead. I just need to bridge the gap to 70.

Almost to the Next Plateau

Since 2008 I have been struggling to “fix” myself after brain surgery due to a neurological condition. While the physical stuff was pretty challenging, the real test was the one of my mind. I admit, I fell apart. I stopped trusting my own thoughts and decisions and, inevitably, made a mess of everything I touched. It took quite a while, lots of therapy, and many mistakes to get to a place where I finally started learning to trust me and my brain again. For the last 6 months I have been unemployed, doing random gigs, online and on-site testing, donating plasma, using cash advances, and living off what savings I was able to hoard in order to survive. I finally found a job I have been wanting to get back into, I’m creating again (I have 3 low content books published on Amazon KDP), and I actually have a pretty sound plan but time and money have run out. I need help to keep my roof over my head. My new job starts next week but the funds are needed now. I would appreciate whatever help you can give but I really need $2000. That will get my rent paid and give me enough to last until my first check. Ironically, my 51st birthday is on Monday and it would great to actually be able to celebrate without having a panic attack. I’m not sure how this works, but if you would like one of my low content notebooks I will definitely send one to you! My guinea pigs will be ever so grateful as well. Please. I don’t want to lose what little I have managed to keep for myself.

Fees to Access Retirement Account

Your willingness to read this message provides me with hope, thank you for hearing my story. Over the last four months I have placed all my financial resources into an investment account that is brokered out of Hong Kong. Recently, I was looking to access some of these funds to assist me in paying off debt, which would make it easier for me to retire in the next couple of years. I received a response from the broker that in order to withdraw the money I requested, I need to pay upgrade brokerage fees for my account. I have been able to raise about half of the funds from friends and family, but have hit the proverbial brick wall in finding the rest of it. I am desperate for help, as everything I have worked for my entire life is tied up in that account; if I lose that, I lose everything. I have prayed for this money and for some reason God has brought me here to you. If you are willing to help me fund the additional $80,000 I know that you will be blessed and you will have blessed me.

Thank you!
