Need help with rent

Hey!

I am needing help with this months rent that is now a week late, I am looking for $1300 to cover my rent and the late fees before I get an eviction notice, I have lived in my place for 4 years and recently a property management company has taken over for the landlords as they are dealing with some health issues. In the past being late paying for rent wouldn’t have been a big deal as I would just talk to them and they were super understanding, the property management company not so much.
Little back story -I lost my job back in February and thankfully only went a month without working, I make less money my job now I make less money than my previous job. I was aware of that when I accepted the job obviously, but it’s an amazing place to work in all ways but the pay (Which isn’t horrible) and I have managed up until this last month. Between making less money and the cost of life continuously going up I have been struggling financially to keep up on top of everything the last couple months with how expensive everything is right now. This last paycheck after groceries and bills, I was left with only $200 which is nowhere near what I need for my rent and I can not afford to get evicted and to have to find a new place to live. I have no family near by and no one to help me right now in any way. I am currently working on getting myself out of this situation I find myself in by working on my credit to get a loan to help with a few things and I am in the process of trying to find a second job, but it’s gonna take a few months before I am back on even ground – money wise.

 I struggle with my mental health and the fact I haven’t been able to pay my rent yet is really starting to affect me along with a few other things, I am starting to get overwhelmed and just want to cry. I hate that I’ve put myself in this position. I am so stressed over this, its all I can think about at night instead of sleeping and this is one of my last efforts to try and get help, so if anyone is able to help in anyway I would be so grateful!

My Car is a Senior Citizen Begging for Major Repairs!

Yes indeed! Hello! Here’s the situation. Because I got laid off my job almost one year ago, and I’m still out of work, I had to stop saving money to get my car repaired so that I could pay rent and bills with it, along with my $179 a week unemployment, which has been fully depleted since last spring.

Let me tell you the history of my old car. I bought this car from the dealership back in November of 1999. That’s right! It’s a year 2000 millennial car that I drove brand new off the lot! It is approaching its 25th birthday next month! Can you believe it? It’s older than Gen-Zs and even some of the Millennials walking around out there. It’s probably in better shape too!

I used to say: “I’ve got to take my car to the hospital!” The hospital? Oh, I mean the dealership. That’s the only place this car has ever gone for repairs. If it could talk, it would testify to such.

The thing is that as we and our cars get older, we start to break down (knee replacement, hearing aids, incontinence, etc.). In terms of a car, various rubbers and sealants harden up from the summer heat and wear and tear, certain parts need to be repaired or replaced, and the usual breakdown that is expected as time goes on from car parts.

My car has never been in a car accident, so it’s never had to go to a body shop for anything. I keep the car clean and in mint condition with all the replacement parts being OEM and genuine. I want to stretch out its use until its last breath! Right now, there’s only about 188,000 miles on it. It’s a Maxima, which means it should easily be able to drive another 100,000 miles because Japanese cars are engineered so darn well!

After getting a second opinion, the first major part that needs replacement is the timing chain (belt), which encompasses at least 10 components including: 3 or 4 timing chains, guides, tensioners, water pump, various gaskets, seals, and fluids. It is a major undertaking including the labor. That alone is around $6,000. The second major repair is the water outlet and valve assembly which has something to do with the upper radiator hose that has a corroded tube. The replacement part and labor is about $2,000. So we’re looking at $8,000. If you are in a position to do so, an additional $2,000 or more would help me toward rent and bills while I look for work, so we’re talking around $10,000 or more if you can spare it.

Until these repairs are done, because of the corroded tubes and worn out hoses that must be replaced, I cannot use my air conditioner in the summer or my heater in the winter. I can’t even use the defroster, which is a hazard because I obviously have to be able to look out the window to see where I’m driving! So that’s a problem. That’s why I can only drive in the middle of the day and not in the rain when the window fogs up.

Just in case it crossed your mind, I have zero interest in a new car for many reasons: (1) My car is better made than new cars today, in my humble opinion. (2) I’ve put so much of my life and soul into this car to keep it well maintained, so giving it up would forfeit all that I’ve put into it over the many years. (3) For an old car, my car insurance is already so high, so why would I get a new car where the car insurance would be even higher? That makes a lot of sense – not! And (4) With no steady income, how would I even afford monthly payments for a new car? Those are just some commonsense things to ponder.

Keep my head above water

Life has been insanely unfair and chaotic. I was working at the same place for 12yrs, when an unexpected knee injury took me out of work for what was supposed to be 12 weeks. That turned into 24 weeks with an additional surgery from a neck injury(car accident). My job was no longer protected and I lost the position I worked incredibly hard for, for over a decade. I am physically limited on how much i can do for at least a couple more months and bills are piling up. My family could only help so much as everyone is struggling in this economy. I just need enough to keep a roof over both my son and I’s heads until I can get back to the grind and cover things myself. This is my hail mary, I don’t know what else to do.

I’m a father and I have no one else to ask

Hey this is my situation. I’m 27 years old and living with my girlfriend and our daughter, she’s little over 1 years old now. Why I need help paying my debt – recovery from illness

At 23, I pursued my dream of becoming self-employed and starting my own business. I borrowed money to invest in my vision, hoping to build something great for my future. Although my business didn’t take off, I was employed full-time and able to manage my living expenses and debt repayments.

thank you for even taking the time to listen to my story. it all started with the pandemic. we all know how difficult that period was for us as people. no job, no freedom, no money. Fortunately I did have a job after that period. I worked my ass off to earn my place in that company, without selling my soul. At that time, people were hungry for a contract, so they did all kinds of things to get it, like lying on someone’s name, being in competition with someone, or the women would hit on the team leaders or team leaders would manipulate women into having sex with them for a contract. I had my own respect by working hard and earning it honestly. I was good with everyone. I always helped when I was done with my own tasks so I got respect for that, but I had my own group that I sat at the table with when I had a break. that group consisted of 3 women and 3 men. The month I was supposed to get my contract I had to go into the office for conformation. I heard that after a year of waiting I would finally get my contract. What was strange is that one of the women I sit at the table with during a break was also in the office because of administration and stock management. she had only been there for 5 months she was quite new, compared to me I had already been there for a year. but when she heard that I would finally get my contract, she wasn’t happy. she started arguing with the team leader about why do I get a contract but she doesn’t get one. the team leader sent me away and started talking to her in his office. After 15 minutes I see them leaving together towards the other area of ​​the company. the next day i tried to talk to her to see if she was okay. she ignored me and didn’t come by either or set at the table.She even started to avoid the others. coming to find out she was eating and smoking with the team leaders outside. everyone notices a change in her. the following week it was free Monday, free Wednesday, which is something you get off every week to relax, because the work was quite physically demanding. this was my problem. I was getting up at 3 o’clock in the morning and outside at 4 o’clock. the distance from my house to work takes 2 hours and my work begins at 6 o’clock. a 15 minute walk to the bus stop, a 5 minute wait for the bus, a 1 hour journey by bus, a 20 minute walk after the bus ride because it is an industrial area and the buses do not drive there. so it took 2 hours to get to work, and I was late 2 times already. for being late you get 3 chances and I still had 1 chance from the manager. then I decided to buy an electric scooter to make up for the 20 minutes to the industry to get to work. when I heard that I would get my contract, I took out a car on credit so I would never be late again. here’s where you’ll understand. the person who makes the list is the team leader and the woman who was angry hangs up the list. They always put the list of days off after the shift, so that everyone can see it. the day off I had was on a Monday. Now the day I was off, I received a call from my interim supervisor that I had been fired. I’m fired? Why am I fired? what have I done? yes, I didn’t come to work, says the team leader. when? I said then. today he said. I’m free today, why does he say that? He made that list after all. ooh says the supervisor. then she looked at the list because the interim always get a list when people are free and it is clear that I was free that day. the attendant called the manager to explain it was a mistake and he didn’t want to hear it. so I decided to go to work to find out what went wrong. supervisor thought it was a good idea, so I went. the same day I called that woman who was angry because we were close. the reason why I called her is because she is close to the team leader and she could probably tell more. she didn’t answer and the team leader didn’t answer either. the next day I went to work went into the office, who is there? that woman the team leader and another team leader. Both of them were shocked when they saw me. then I asked the team leader what went wrong. he said yes the manager didn’t see me decided to fire me. I said how can he fire me when it was clear that I was free, a list you made. no, you were not free, he said. then that woman started answering who made the list. I went to the manager, he clearly said that the team leader came to complain to him that he cannot work with me and that I did not come to work. I left it like that and went outside. Outside there were people I know leaving from work and shouting and telling a shocking story. that he saw the team leader and woman go into the toilet together a week ago. the same day when I saw them walking to the other area of ​​the company 15 minutes later. I didn’t believe it at first, but then he showed me pictures of them literally going in and out of the toilet. then I knew that the two of them were targeting me. so now I am without work, a car that I took out on an installment plan, fixed costs, fines that are piling up because I do not pay on time due to unemployment. all i want is to pay my car debt of 15000$, even if it is half to make up for lost time for payment it is also good. Honestly, I just want to have fun.

Okay, so, long story short I am in a semi-long-term financial bind. It will end, it jus just going to be a few years as long as everything works out as intended. Here is a basic run down of the situation.

I am living in a camping trailer with my Grandmother. She moved in with me before we got the trailer. The trailer, while I like the idea, is not in good shape. It is a 2005 or older model. The pluming has several leaks under the trailer (to the point that for the last month I have had an on and off fight with black mold keeping it under control). The AC just got replaced and took a whole paycheck out of my monthly income ($1500). On top of owing our friends who gave us the trailer $10k to finalize the sale and transfer the papers into my name.

My first thought was to just pay the three last things on my credit off and then apply for a loan to cover the costs and then just pay back the loan. I can not do that with the frequency of repairs required on this trailer.

Now, I could sit here and ask for help fixing the trailer, paying off the large ass sum of credit card debt my grandfather left my grandmother in, or paying for the trailer. However… I don’t think it is likely any of that will happen. Mostly because the financial state of the world is not just being hard on me, it is being hard on everyone.

S0… instead, I would just like a little more freedom to just go out and hang out with my friends on the one or two days I get free every week. I would really like to get into playing Star Wars Unlimited. My Friend group is falling hard into this game and I have played a few games with the pre-cons my friends have and I really like it. I just found out Twilight of the Republic is going to be the next set dropping in November. I would love to just order 2 boxes of the set for myself and just dive in and have fun. I believe the pre-order is running for $108 right now.

Strength Through Struggle: My Journey of Hope

Hello, my name is Barbara. I’m a single woman living in Florida. I want to express my immense gratitude to anyone willing to hear my story. Lately, life has been challenging, and despite my efforts to persevere, it often feels like for every step forward, I take two steps back.

Despite my efforts to find closure and healing with my family, they continue to cause me emotional pain. It’s painful to accept that, no matter how much I give and sacrifice, they devalue me. I’ve had to make the difficult decision to walk away from them, questioning if blood is truly thicker than water.

Loneliness has become a familiar companion, something I’ve grown used to like a cozy sweater. Despite this, I’ve been determined to survive without relying on those who’ve hurt me the most. Fearing the tough job market, I returned to school to pursue a graduate degree in Social Work. The reality of the job market is daunting—I’ve applied countless times and faced rejection after rejection, despite my 15 years of experience in healthcare as a Case Manager and Healthcare Recruiter. Currently, I work as a caregiver for seniors, earning $1400 a month while my bills total $2300.

To make ends meet, I’ve had to rely on student loans, leading to $58,000 in debt. Looking back, I regret the financial burden of returning to school. I worry about my future, wondering if more student debt will lead to sustainable employment. My total debt now stands at $73,400, and my dream is to start an online business as an Integrative Life Coach, helping those struggling with mental illness, trauma, loneliness, and introversion.

Please help me have heat this winter!

Hello Earth Angels,

I am a single person of lower income working paycheck to paycheck. I am usually able to be self responsible, however, several large expenses have left me in a bind. After several expensive repairs, my old car was finished and I had to get another one. My dog  had to be rushed into the emergency vet when almost dying from Lyme disease. Those vets won’t even look at your pet without money upfront. These unexpected expenses have set me back on my payment schedules. My belt is currently pulled very tight.

I am asking for financial assistance to help me cover a furnace installation before winter hits. Winters here in Cleveland get pretty cold. The five years I have been living in my home, I have been cold in the winter. The first two years I nurtured an ancient boiler that was almost dangerous and had only three working radiators. In fear every time that I left the house that the boiler might blow, I borrowed from friends and family to buy a used gas furnace. At that time (and for about three years after due to the Covid shutdown) I was living far below poverty level having lost my job overnight due to the shutdown. I am just starting to catch up. The last three years I have been challenged with a lemon furnace and incompetent installation. I have spent a few thousand dollars and still was without heat at some point during each winter. I have experienced severe anxiety and depression due to the experience! Last year I had to have another repair in February and the furnace stopped working again on St. Patrick’s Day. Only one month later. I was so riddled with anxiety that I didn’t contact the company. I lived in one room with a plug in electric heater for about six weeks.

I have found a new HVAC technician who needs to redo the entire system for an estimate of $7,500 to $9,500. This is almost one third of my annual income of $35000. This amount will at least get heat on my first floor and one room upstairs. To heat the other upstairs rooms makes the cost way beyond my range, (another $7000) so that is currently a phase two project unless donations allow it.

I have barely have enough for the down payment to get the project started, but I honestly don’t know yet how I will pay the rest.

Urgent funds required to save home and secure work

I feel like I am right at the end of the line but I am a fighter and I will not give up.  I am so very close to securing my future and that of my daughter.

I need to pay two months rent to avoid eviction and some funding to complete my project that is 99% ready to go and will bring a steady passive income in.

I am a 64 year old highly-skilled massage therapist of 40 years, very popular  and a single mother to a home-schooled talented daughter. I have a lot to give in terms of teaching and compassion.

For the past ten years I have miraculously managed to keep a roof over our heads and to pay for tuition and examination fees etc. for my daughter who has recently got straight A’s (8’s & 9’s) in her GCSE’s and is now studying fr her A levels.

Her father did not pay any maintenance to us  and as classed as “retired” we were not able to secure any.

I have (and am) worked extremely hard writing courses to be put online  for qualified therapists to buy and download as part of their cntinuing professional development. I had a mentor who is a sucessful entrepreneur with hugely successful ventures look over my work and mastermind with me and it is very clear that the specific topics I cover are highly sought after by new and returning therapists in particular and currently not offered anywhere so I am very keen to put them live. I even have an ever-growing waiting list for them.

My monthly outgoings (which include subscriptions to Canva for my illustrating and Freshlearn platform where my courses will be) far outweigh my income and I just need to pay a freelancer on Fivrr  to set my page up to receive payments and one or two other technical things.

Two weeks ago our house was flooded and as I see clients at home I could not earn money and am only restarting this week.   The money I would have earned would have paid my rent which was due yesterday (which also happened to be my birthday)

I find myself in a situation where to stop being evicted I need to pay this last months rent urgently and also be able to pay next months rent. I am desperately needing to pay for my courses to go live to ensure more income.

Once this is happening and I can re-coup I want t be able to help others and “pay it forward” I have always helped others where I can and have given to strangers and I didn’t ever want t be in the position of asking for the same for myself but I guess it is what keeps us humble.

Help a Struggling Surgeon

As a current surgical trainee in the South West of England, I have struggled over the last six months with my mental health. This culminated in a diagnosis of schizophrenia and spending to excess. I currently have £25000 worth of credit card debt and no way of paying this back. Due to my mental health I have reduced my working hours and now therefore take home £2100 a month. This just about covers my mortgage and my living expenses but does not enable me to pay off this debt.

I am desperate for any help to help reduce this amount. Removing this stress with improve my mental health further and allow me to continue my surgical training career. Sadly I have no family or friends that are in a position to help and have no support network where I live currently.

This level of debt is also preventing my book exams and courses. This are mandatory to allow me to progress and total £4500 currently – again I cannot afford this and this is preventing my progression.

Please consider this a really worthwhile cause to allow a doctor fulfil their potential and become a consultant surgeon.
