HI everyone. Here I am, talking to my cat and dog all day long as the writer’s and actor’s strikes in Hollywood continue on….. I also talk to myself, so there’s that–because years of therapy taught me the value of being a good listener and one must always start with themselves…. I’m finding the fun in all of this, but ya know—it’s a very unstable and crazy time. First, along with thousands of other actors, I lost my health insurance, and now all of us middle class actors are rightfully demanding to be paid properly, just to make ends meet.

So, I went for my dream and got a quasi-master’s in acting after a non-quasi bachelor’s in elementary education/early childhood with an emphasis on psychology. I studied in NYC & moved to LA in 2000. I’ve been lucky & grateful to have been in close to 100 commercials and have worked a bunch in TV/film.  As if the pandemic wasn’t enough,  self-tapes at home changed the way job opportunities and auditions presented themselves. I have faith that things will change, and change is the only thing we CAN count on, but I am not sure if things will go back to normal for the entertainment business at all, none of us do and we will see what happens with AI.

The good news is that I have learned to find the joy and peace in all of it. Sometimes it’s not as easy, but stress and worry just leads to dis-ease and it’s more fun to be happy. GRATEFUL & excited for what’s to come and all that is shared and manifested.  :)

Hello ! My name is Wanda I am 57 years old. I live in Oregon and have a debilitating autoimmune disorder. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Raynauds and autoimmune diabetes. For years I struggled with my conditions while having to work full time. I just pushed myself every day to get up from bed every morning to go to work to make ends meet and be a productive member of society. Aching to my bones, fatigued or not I would put on a brave face and continued with my day until I couldn’t anymore. I had to stop working, I couldn’t drive, had a nasty brain fog, pain and couldn’t get out of bed. My husband had to absorb all my bills having to work over time to avoid being homeless barely making it. This past January I was taken to the ER where they discovered I had a sugar level of 400, and the doctors were amazed I was not in diabetic coma in spite to having Keto Acidosis. My autoimmune system had attacked my liver and it was not producing insulin anymore. I spend the days home sick, in pain and alone, until my husband comes home to help me move around. Never in my life I thought my health and quality of life would be taken away by such an insidious, unrelenting illness. I am reaching out to you, with the hope of getting some funds to help us have a fighting chance. Because of stress and over work my husband has had 2 cardiac incidents and a stent put on this past April. All we have is each other. The dog in the picture is Juniper, a golden retriever living in a lovely farm in Washington State. The owner of the farm asures me she would be a great companion and support dog. She is gentle and eager to work and is quick to learn. She would be able to be a companion and help with retrieving fallen or needed objects when I am by myself. The Beginning of this year started out sad. I was already struggling to my head up above the water. Living paycheck to paycheck. Trying to catch a break with all the bills and loans to fix the house and payoff other loans from the previous year. Praying from this year to be my year to somewhat catch a break. Sadly, no January 28, 2023, my home caught a fire with my furry babies in the home while I was out. My heart died that day I cried I screamed I looked but the smoke from the ceiling took them from me. Everyday my heart cry. they were my support group to means to my awful day. They made me feel better. To breathe, to smile, to stop the rain in my day. Now there just and empty space and the memories of the love. Cardi, KC, and Trig my furry kids will always be a part of my world. I do this for them. Their home Our home.
So much has happen the bills really past due. Trying to stretch each paycheck to get my bills back in order. Health takes its toll. End up in therapy. For crying all the time. I was told to release my furry babies and stop blame myself for what happen. Working overtime still trying to catch a break somewhere Plus taking a little money from here or there to get plywood or something on a bill that is small. But I pay some of the taxes and small bills. The big ones are super past due.
Another sad day June 25,2023, I slip and fell. Trying to catch myself and to land on my butt. No, I landed hand down and my arm felted weird. ER to find out that I’ve fractured my arm The right arm Not I’m out of work more tears and heartache. Now no work and the code enforcer on the scene about fixing the house. Another shot to the heart. Praying for help. All the one that said if you need anything has disappeared. Which I understand. A hurting situation. Now I think I’m being sued by one of debtors. More tears and problem. My Furry Babies, our home, swimming in bills, and health needs to be under control. Health insurance acting like they don’t want to pay the bills, need glasses a dentist. I’m asking for help to rebuild a home that is full of memories and a fresh start. I pray to help someone also that need a fresh start. Our home was always a beckon for helping anyone that needed a place of refuge to get plate of food to lay your head. We never ask for anything in return. Them are the memories of my Family home. <span;>Hello everyone I am not the type of person to ask for help at all especially in this type of manner but I really need help. Here’s the story. In may 2021 my family of 5 was offered a deal to move into a new house that would be perfect for our family for a minimum of 5 years, 10 years maximum. We took the deal thinking everything was going to be okay, but 2 years into living in this new house we got a letter stating we were needing to leave by May 2024, thats 9 months away. It’s a reasonable amount of time we were given to find another place but we are a very low income family and all the wait lists are two years or more to get into affordable houseing. It was a stab to the chest to find out we have to leave earlier then we were promised.. my two daughters are devastated and they are only 3 and 5 years old. They love it here and have grown so many bonds with the neighbors and community around us and also if we have to find another place to live there is the possibility that my kids will have to rehome their 2 cats who they love dearly. Now here is where I’m asking for help: the reason we have to leave this house sooner then we were promised is due to the landlords wanting to sell the house out from under us. Which is not right due to what’s promised but at the same time we do understand. I am asking for anyone who could possibly help us come up with a large chunk of money to put a down payment on this house so we do not have to leave the place our kids love. We are trying to raise 100,000 to 150,000 to put a down payment on the house and we will not be able to do it just in 9 months without the help from all of you. I really appriceate anything anyone can do for us. I’ve never been in this spot in my life and it’s tearing apart my mental health because I’m so sad for my babies cause they might lose everything. Hello! I introduce myself, I am Jessen, I am 51 years old. The first time I have asked for financial help on the internet, after going to relatives, they have denied me that urgent help that I have, my husband passed away last year on June 13, 2022. How to forget that painful date. I come from Central America and so does my husband and when he died, I had to send his body to our country and be buried there. I’m a US Navy Veteran living in Pensacola, Florida. I have been flooded out by a severe rain storm( that’s right a severe thunderstorm!!) It wasn’t classified as a Hurricane which is why FEMA didn’t assist! My home was flooded and everything and I mean everything was ruined!!! I asked my renters insurance for help and they told me no, because it wasn’t sewage water, which I told them it came from outside, doesn’t that count as sewage? They told me no!! I called numerous agencies United Way, 211, Thrift Stores, local post for veterans with no help at all!! They property management came in and cut 1ft from floor drywall out on exterior walls of my home to replace and that’s it!!! When they removed the drywall I could literally see outside from the inside of my wall where they removed drywall! I spoke with a lawyer and he stated that management is supposed to cut 3ft from floor to replace drywall!!! I’m on a fixed income from the VA and I don’t have extra money to replace or move to another place!! If anybody can help me, it would be greatly appreciated!!! I suffer from severe PTSD and this has really got my mind toward an end. I hope someone can help me!

The journey to recovery has been a challenging one, marked by one surgical intervention, and a daunting necessity for yet another operation. Tragically, my doctor has withheld further procedures due to my drained retirement funds, sacrificed in the struggle for survival.

A grim consequence of these hardships is my current dwelling — the confines of my car. The prospect of healing in such conditions is bleak at best. In a hopeful attempt, I made an endeavor to return to work, though my stamina only sustained me for a mere 6 hours. It is in this dire juncture that I find myself reaching out, akin to a Hail Mary pass in football, hoping for a benevolent soul to rescue me from this abyss.

Envisioning a brighter future, I earnestly yearn for the day I can regain my position behind the wheel and contribute once more. With a heart full of gratitude, I vow to pay it forward, ensuring that the kindness bestowed upon me finds its way to others in need. However, the path to this renewal is paved with obstacles. To resurrect my life — securing a roof over my head, sustenance, and the means to move forward — I am confronted with an estimated monthly expense of $1,500.

The ordeal of being robbed and battered underscores the lack of a safety net from my employer, leading me to a depleted retirement fund and a compromised physical state.
