Please understand that I have never asked anyone for this kind of help in my entire life and I am ashamed to do so.    I am a retired teacher living alone, forced to retire early due to severe heart disease.  I did not have enough credits toward retirement to be eligible for full benefits.  I make just enough to pay my rent.  My daughter is a single mother living in Texas which makes it almost impossible to visit my grandchildren for the holidays.  I am enrolled in the body gift program at WVU which makes me ineligible if I move more than 75 miles from WVU University.  This helps ease the financial burden to my daughter when I pass, but makes it harder for me to visit her.  Recently my vehicle has reached the end of its life which makes it almost impossible for me to travel locally to Dr. visits, grocery store, etc. More importantly, to travel to Texas and spend the holidays with my family.  To help make my financial situation more understandable, I am receiving meals on wheels that you have to qualify for.  I am trying to raise 20,000 dollars to help with medical bills and purchase a good used vehicle that will last me the rest of my life and be able to drive in winter months and be able to visit my girls.  I have a friend in the car business that will help me with this task as soon as I raise the funds. I realize that there are more people in worse situations than myself.  If anyone decides to help you will be helping an old man on disability to afford to purchase the means to take care of himself and more importantly to spend as much time as possible with family.  Anything would help at this point.

Hi everyone, My name’s Jared, and my girlfriend Jenifer and we are asking for any help we can get. We need $10,000 and ill break that down for clearity. We’ve lost everything. A few months ago, we were at a go-kart track with my kids when my 8-year-old spun out. Another group of karts were coming fast toward him, and without thinking, I ran to pulled him out of the way. I’m healing and ready to get back into HVAC as soon as we have a stable place to live. Jenifer is an artist who just needs a roof and a little peace to start creating again. We’re trying to raise enough to cover rent, deposit, cheap work truck, food, gas, work tools as I’ve had to sell to survive, and basic essentials. Rent is at $2900 per month here in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. First month and security deposit are $6000. i can get a cheap work truck around $1500. That pbrings total to &7500. Hvac tools, guages, Torches, parts and refrigerant will be another $2500. Then utility deposits, food, gas, basic house essentials will cost $800-$1000. That brings total to $11000. We need help so we can get off the streets and rebuild our lives. We’re not asking for handouts-just a hand up. Even a small amount could make a real difference. It’s always been difficult for me to ask for help . I will give help easily and enjoy doing so but , I am having to listen to my own advice which is ” Just ask ! ”

 

I am a 35 year old single moma of my awesome daughter who is now 5. We’ve been fighting together from the day I found out she was in my belly and I do everything in my life ultimately for her to have a life she deserves. Im not perfect, and I take responsibility for any wrong situation I perhaps end up in. Why waste time playing the ol blame game, even if its easy and in my current one it would be. However, I choose to only blame me and learn from my choices and be totally transparent and honest because to me that’s more worthy of respect.

 

Ok, long story short: Im a homeowner that came into full ownership before expecting to… and if it can go wrong, it’s gone wrong. Right now, my once beautiful house is filled with black mold, structural damage from having poor drainage , and no gutters . I have some pretty major chronic health issues such as Type 1 Diabetes, that prevent me from working but don’t qualify for disability.  I resell things online to barely make ends meet for my sweet daughter. The prices recently qouted to me to be able to have a healthy livable home are near impossible for me. Recently, cavities were found in my lung from mold exposure but what can a girl do really? Full disclosure, this pains me to do this. I’ve always taken great pride and comfort in providing for my wife and children. However, like many others, this economic downturn has been a devastating blow to my finances. The cost of living of essentials like food, gas for the car, utilities, and rent increases have been like treading quicksand. It’s been a slow, horrifying descent into the abyss of financial ruin. Every time it seems like I’ll be in good spot financially and able to at least break even for the month, disaster strikes. Now things are piling up faster than the paychecks can cover. My employer has begun to rapidly lose business, and I desperately need to find better paying, more stable employment. This is quite frankly, terrifying, as I’m acutely aware of the possibility I may be in between jobs while the bills continue to pile up. Our car needs work, and I’ve recently developed a medical issue that will require professional help, probably surgery. The rent is behind, and while we haven’t reached eviction notices yet thankfully, the threat looms on the horizon. I don’t have legal or illegal vices I’m wasting money on, I’m just at the point where I have to swallow my pride and say: I need help. I don’t care about myself. All that matters to me is my beautiful, supportive, loving wife and our three incredible children. Whatever it takes to provide for them until I can get to a better financial position is what I’ll do. If that means humbling myself and asking for assistance from a good Samaritan, so be it. On June 26, 2026, I lost my job while struggling with an autoimmune disease that severely drains my energy and causes chronic fatigue, pain, and inflammation. I also live with IBS-D and diabetes, making it difficult to work outside the home or in a traditional workplace.

Since losing my income, I have fallen behind on essential bills. I am now facing the frightening possibility of becoming homeless and losing my transportation—the very things I need to remain safe, attend medical appointments, and continue searching for work.

The extreme heat makes my health conditions significantly worse, so the thought of losing stable housing or reliable transportation is terrifying. I never imagined I would be in a position where I would have to ask for help like this, but life has a way of humbling you. If you’ve ever struggled financially or felt like you were doing everything you could just to stay afloat, then you know how hard it is to ask for help.

The past year has been one of the most difficult years of my life, both emotionally and financially. My family went through an almost separation, and the stress, uncertainty, and financial strain that came with it affected every part of our lives. We fought hard to keep our family together, and while I’m incredibly grateful that we made it through that chapter, rebuilding financially has been much harder than I ever expected.

Like so many families, we found ourselves trying to choose which bills could wait so we could keep food on the table, put gas in the car, and take care of everyday necessities. Unfortunately, our Southern California Edison bill continued to grow until it became something that now feels impossible to overcome.

My current Edison balance is $3,841.05.

I tried to set up another payment arrangement, hoping I could slowly catch up, but because I’ve already used the maximum number of payment arrangements allowed, Edison has informed me that I must first pay $2,430.91 before I can even qualify for another payment plan.

I have until August 14 to come up with that amount.

To be completely honest, I don’t know how I’m going to do it.

This bill has become something that keeps me awake at night. I constantly find myself worrying about the possibility of our electricity being disconnected. Living in California, where summer temperatures regularly climb above 105 degrees, losing power isn’t just an inconvenience, it could become dangerous. The thought of not having air conditioning during the hottest part of the year is terrifying.

I’ve spent countless nights lying awake, running numbers over and over in my head, wondering what else I can sell, what extra work I can pick up, or what bill has to wait next. It’s exhausting carrying that weight every single day.

As difficult as it is to ask, I’m reaching out because I simply can’t do this alone.

Hello, I’m a 66-year-old facing an uncertain and increasingly difficult future. After a lifetime of hard work, my declining health has left me unable to continue working. I live in an average rent home but it still drains my very limited resources. I am in constant fear of eviction for not having enough to pay rent.

With no remaining savings or assets, I’m turning to you for help through this GoFundMe campaign. My only hope to secure a stable, dignified life where I can visit my children and grandchildren and spend whatever time is left with my family. I’ve worked since I was 14 years old (my parents signed their permission for me to do so) and so many of my later work years were spent working two and often 3 jobs at a time. There was no time for my young family because we needed to survive financially. I was deprived of so much because of the financial pressures. Medical challenges (e.g., aortal aneurysm, “respiratory/pulmonary issues” (I’ve never smoked) and inability to walk more than 5 minutes now due to severe hip issue) an inoperable hernia and the inability to work as I used to, have left me with nothing to fall back on.

The fear of losing my home and being homeless at this age and condition is frightening and depressing. I cannot stand long enough to work at jobs I used to work at. My health issues on a daily basis have been difficult enough to make me think about whatever future I have left. Your support can help change that. On February 20th, I was involved in a serious car accident that left me with four broken ribs, a broken wrist, and a fractured C7 in my spine. I am currently unable to work for at least a few more months. My car was totaled, and as a result of the accident and its aftermath, I lost my apartment and am living with friends.  Most of my belongings have had to go into storage which is almost $200 per month.  I also had to rehome my precious emotional support cat, Charlie. (This has been the worst for me.)

Life can change in an instant, and mine did with the sudden and unexpected passing of my beloved wife. Losing my partner, best friend, and the person I planned my future with has left me heartbroken after 26 years. I am struggling to find my way forward. My husband and I just bought land that has no electricity, water or sewer

we are both disable living in a camper because we could no longer afford rent

we bought land to put our camper on and live in our camper

if we don’t electricity, we will not be able to live in our camper for the winter then we will be homeless.

we live in Minnesota and the winters get very cold

My husband hasn’t been able to work since he broke his back in 2 spots. he was a trucker for 30 years.

For me, I was dealt with several forms of arthritis all through my body. I have not been able to work with all this arthritis. I have good and many bad days, but I work through it.

I currently work full-time earning $17.50 per hour. I have continued working hard to support myself, but saving for a reliable vehicle has been difficult.
