Support needed for recent vision loss and financial hardship.

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this updated letter to provide a more complete and detailed picture of my situation, as my previous correspondence was far too brief to convey the full extent of the challenges I am facing.

I am a 52-year-old woman currently living in California, far from the place I call home and the family I love most. Five years ago, I relocated here with my partner, who had secured employment at a local shipyard. We moved with high hopes, believing this step would bring us long-term stability. However, our lives took a sudden turn when he suffered a severe work injury that resulted in him being laid off. Without that income, our financial cushion vanished, leaving us financially stranded thousands of miles away from our support system.

Since then, my circumstances have become overwhelming. I recently suffered a severe loss of vision—over 90% of my sight—which has drastically altered my daily life. Due to my severe visual impairment, I recently suffered a terrible fall that broke my teeth, requiring them to be pulled and replaced with poorly fitting dentures that cause constant discomfort. Modern assistive technology—such as Meta Smart Glasses—along with a trained seeing-eye dog would offer me the safety, mobility, and independence I desperately need right now.

My living and financial conditions have added to this daily strain. Management routinely ignores basic maintenance, refusing to fix broken appliances in my home. Furthermore, since March, I have been dealing with a bed bug infestation that spread into my unit from elsewhere in the building. I maintain a clean home, and while management has treated other apartments in the complex, they have yet to treat mine. As a diabetic, these ongoing insect bites pose serious health risks. I have been forced to spend what little extra money I have on treatments and sprays just to manage the infestation on my own. Having extra financial resources or legal aid would allow me to hire an attorney to hold my landlords accountable. Unfortunately, I am trapped in high-interest credit card debt that I took on to build credit, alongside an overpriced phone contract, leaving every dollar tied up in predatory fees and basic survival.

Most heartbreaking of all is the isolation. My entire family—my mother, father, sister, daughter, and son—lives in Alabama. Being unable to afford travel home to see them has caused me to struggle with severe depression, which has worsened significantly without their physical presence and support.

I am reaching out for any guidance, legal assistance, or financial aid available to help with travel, assistive technology, or my living conditions. If you are able to offer direct financial support, contributions can be sent to my PayPal account at paypal.me/dechristieb. Any help would bring hope and relief back into my life. Thank you deeply for your time, empathy, and consideration.

Sincerely,

DeChristie Black

Life keeps kicking

hi im a 22 year old woman who has suffered from a rare genetic eye disorder known as retinitis pigmentosa. Sounds made up i know but its very real. And ontop of it i have a rare gene mutation that causes my eyes to take in light more then others initially making me blind to light. In August of 2026 I was in the passanger seat of my step mom’s car with her driving and my sister in the back at a year old. A car suddenly ran a red light and t boned our car throwing us into a tree head on. I was taken to the hospital via ambulance due to passing out on impact. I had removed my seatbelt when I saw the white car heading for us. He was gonna hit the driver back door where my sister sat in her carseat so without thinking I flipped around and gripped her carseat with all my power. I knew her carseat was designed to protect her but I could never know how bad a wreck would be. Upon impact I was almost ejected from the windshield but my sister was safe. My glasses specially designed for my disorder pierced both ears before flying out the window during impact. I attempted to get replacements but couldnt afford them so I tried to buy contacts. Then got scammed. My medical bills have racked up to $25,000 and counting with each appointment needed. Now with my life falling apart my money had to go to emergency funding for transportation to appointments and my rent has crashed down on me at $2200 dollars behind. I’m looking at homelessness and can’t find a way out. I’ve tried loans and talking to everyone I can and even sold a majority of everything I own. Is there anyone who could help me out or know someone who can?

HELP ME AND MY GRANDSON GET INTO A FOREVER HOME

Hi! I am on the website today to ask anyone that can help me and my grandson A) Get help with closing costs for our forever home. B) Get help buying a used but new to me vehicle. All donations will be appreciated tremendously and will help change our lives. We have gone through a lot recently and for the passed two years.                                     To fill you in on how I’ve gotten to the point of getting on a website to literally beg for money. I’ll start with the diagnosis. The end of 2024, I went to the emergency room and found out (doctors exact words) ” Ok, well you have a tumor and your tumor has a LOT of hair and a whole LOT of teeth.” I’ve never heard of that before but at the same time I felt relief and horrified. Turns out that it had been created at the same time as me. I had always felt like I had cancer and my family always thought I was a hypochondriac. We were both wrong. Long story short, on July 15, 2026, I had the tumor taken out and they said my tumor had a tumor. (I’m still in a state of shock) I also had a total hysterectomy. They took everything. For two two years my body thought it was pregnant because of how fast the tumor was growing. I wasn’t able to work due to feeling nauseated and dizzy. It had been taking my nutrients my entire life.                                        A friend of mine, gave me a 1994 Honda Accord last year. It was a stick shift with no air conditioner and I was very happy and grateful. About two weeks ago a huge tree fell on top of it. the damage done cost more than the car was worth. I will post a picture at the bottom. I  didn’t have insurance because I haven’t had any income. I need a car to be able to start work and to be able to get my grandson back and forth to preschool, doctors appointments, etc.                     Now, I’ll tell you why I will be taking care of my grandson. My daughter was in a terrible car accident around January or February. She had two major surgeries following that to replace her hip and her elbow. She was in a wheel chair and bed ridden for a while afterwards. We decided that I would move in with her so I could help her with my grandson and with her. At first she couldn’t use the restroom by herself. If that wasn’t bad enough, now she has went from pain meds to a stronger pain relief and I am scared for her. I will not let this ruin my grandsons life. I have finally talked her into signing over temporary custody to me until she goes through rehab and stays clean for one year and keeps her apartment in the meantime. Her father agreed to pay her rent while she gets help.                                                                                                                                                    This is where I am in life. I wish I would have saved right and did so many things differently, but that can not be changed. I’ve never asked anyone for anything before. I hate to do it now. It’s not as easy these days as it used to be for me to bounce back and come up from the bottom. I will be starting a new job next week as a Quality Auditor thankfully. I need to get my grandson and myself out of here and into a home. With all of that information, I humbly beg for y’alls help.    My Cash App is  $HelpAshandKay

Hello All,

My name is Shanon. Im 42. These past few years have been rough for me and my family. In 2023 I lived with my then Girlfriend (she is my wife now) and her 4 kids in a hotel for 6 months. At the time she got kicked out from her moms house due to 2 of her girls coming forward and saying that their great uncle (her moms brother) had touched them inappropriately. I moved into the hotel with them. During this time I did gig work through veryable. This helped us stay in the hotel. I was able.to get a full.time job and we moved into a house. We live in a mobile home park. Her and I got married moved into the house. I was able to keep.us in the house with the full.time job but it was rough. I lost the job in 2025. I was able to get a part time job and unemployment to pay weekly to catch up on rent. After catching up on rent lost unemployment. I worked the part time job still unable to find a full time job. Family helped some and then helped recently I wasn’t able to pay the first 3 months of 2026 and they helped me pay the rent and stop the eviction. But I lost my family because they felt I shouldn’t have to reach out to them for help. Now im at the same point again. I owe 9k for rent. And to stop the eviction again. Im in the process of getting a new full time job where I can pay the rent and keep up. I got a job offer but it is too late and landlord doesn’t want to work with me on paying rent over time. Please if you can help and assist with this it would mean a lot to us and for us.

Thank you.

Save Sparkles!!

My name is Gina. I am a 56-year-old resident of Modesto, California, and I am writing to you today with an urgent and humble request for financial assistance for my beloved dog, Sparkles.
Sparkles is an 11-year-old Pomeranian who has been the light of my life since the day I brought her home. At that time, my life looked very different. I was in a stable situation, working hard, and able to provide everything she needed. I never could have predicted the severe hardships that lay ahead. Over the past few years, I have survived some truly awful, heartbreaking circumstances that ultimately lost me my stability. Today, I am living in a shelter in Modesto as I work to rebuild my life from the ground up.
Throughout every traumatic moment, every loss, and every difficult transition, Sparkles has remained tightly by my side. When everything else in my world fell apart, she was the one constant source of comfort, safety, and unconditional love I had left. She does not care where we sleep or what challenges we face; she simply loves me and stays right beside me, providing emotional support that keeps me going on my hardest days. In many ways, she has been my anchor and the reason I keep pushing forward.
Right now, Sparkles is facing a sudden medical emergency, and I am desperate to get her the care she needs. Veterinary costs are overwhelmingly high, and as someone currently living in a shelter, I simply cannot afford them on my own. I took Sparkles to the emergency vet last night, but because I only had $50 to my name, they were unable to perform any diagnostic work or treatment. The clinic informed me that essential blood work alone costs $900, and she also urgently requires X-rays to determine what is wrong.
I am humbly requesting $1,500 in financial aid. While her total care may end up costing more, securing this amount will allow the veterinarians to complete her critical testing, run the necessary X-rays, and immediately begin treatment to stabilize her.
Sparkles is not just a pet; she is my family, my companion, and my strength. Receiving this assistance would save my dog’s life and lift an unimaginable weight off my shoulders during an already devastating time. Thank you so much for reading my story, considering my request, and for any amount you are able to donate.

Donations can be sent to,:

With sincere gratitude,

I’m Asking for Help Before We Lose Our Place — My Dog Needs Help Too

I’m asking for some help because I’m in a tough spot financially and I’m trying to keep myself and my dog from falling even further behind. Right now, I’m living in a motel, and the weekly cost is $474. This is where I live, so keeping the room paid is my biggest immediate concern. I’m doing everything I can, but without enough money coming in, that weekly payment has become extremely difficult to keep up with.

My dog also needs to see a veterinarian. I haven’t been able to make the appointment yet because I’m worried about how I’m going to pay for it. I expect the visit and basic treatment to cost at least around $200, and it could be more depending on what the vet finds. My dog is family, and I don’t want money to be the reason I put off getting the care they need.

Another major problem is transportation. I don’t currently have a car, and not having reliable transportation makes an already difficult situation even harder. I have to figure out rides or other ways to get where I need to go, including getting my dog to the veterinarian and handling basic everyday necessities. I haven’t even seriously started looking for a car because right now I simply don’t have the money to put toward one.

I’m not looking for a handout so I can spend money on unnecessary things. I’m asking for help with basic needs that I genuinely can’t comfortably cover right now: keeping a roof over my head, getting my dog veterinary care, food and necessities, and eventually getting reliable transportation.

If anyone is willing to help, even $10 or $20 would mean something to me. If several people are able to contribute a little, it could make a huge difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing this request would still help me reach someone who might be able to.

I know there are a lot of people asking for help, and I don’t expect anyone to owe me anything. I’m just taking a chance and asking because I really need some help right now. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this, donate, or share. It genuinely means a lot.

Immediate Survival Supplies Needed for Outdoor Living

I am asking for help obtaining the basic supplies I need to survive outdoors after losing the place where I had been staying. I am already in the process of moving my belongings out and preparing to live in the woods. This is not a request for anyone to fund a new apartment, a long-term housing plan, transportation, bills, or a lifestyle. It is a request for the immediate physical necessities that will keep me alive and functional while I am outside.

I have lived in the woods before, so I understand that a tent alone does not make someone prepared. The last time I had to do this, I had my own money set aside and was able to buy what I needed beforehand. I could prepare my shelter, bring food and water, and make sure I had a basic setup before I was forced to depend on it. I do not have that starting money now. I am going into this with almost nothing, which makes the difference between a difficult situation and an unsafe one.

I am physically disabled and live with severe chronic pain, joint instability, and limited mobility. My mother, grandmother, and younger brother have formal diagnoses of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a hereditary connective-tissue condition. I experience many of the same joint problems, but I have not had the health insurance or access to medical specialists that they had when they received diagnoses. Walking long distances, standing for long periods, lifting, carrying water, and recovering from physical exertion are difficult for me. Those are not abstract limitations when living outside; they affect every part of finding water, setting up shelter, preparing food, and making it through the day.

The immediate concern is extreme heat. Without reliable shade, water, and cooling, a person can become sick quickly outdoors. I need equipment that reduces exposure to direct sun and helps create a space where I can rest instead of overheating.

The $600 goal is based on obtaining a complete basic survival setup rather than buying isolated items that do not work without the rest. I need a waterproof tent, a ground tarp, and at least two thick tarps to layer above the tent with space between them. The air gap matters because it helps create shade above the shelter, reduces direct heat on the tent, and provides more protection when it rains. I also need mosquito netting, drinking water and durable water containers, food, a way to prepare food without relying on a wood fire, and portable cooling equipment with a power source.

I am not asking people to solve my entire future. I intend to keep moving forward and work toward something more stable than living outdoors. But surviving today has to come first. A safe place to lie down, water to drink, food to eat, protection from rain and insects, and enough cooling to endure the heat are the only things this request is meant to cover.

Any amount helps And is greatly appreciated, and sharing this request matters just as much. The funds will be used directly for the supplies needed to survive the immediate situation.

Any donations can be made through cash app, my cash tag is $YodVav.

Honor Thy Parents — I Did. Now I Need Help

VENMO @AprilEAT

A few months ago, my parent suffered a serious medical emergency, and I made the decision to put my life on hold and temporarily relocate to help care for them. I used my savings believing I could carry the financial burden until things stabilized, but the recovery has taken much longer than expected. My savings are now gone, my storage unit containing my belongings is already at risk, rent is due again in just a few days, and my electricity and water could be disconnected. I also have pets depending on me, and one of my biggest fears is not being able to keep the electricity on so they can remain safe and comfortable. I am running out of time, and I desperately need help getting through the next month or two.

Writing those words hurts more than I can explain.

I have always taken care of myself. I have worked hard and carried my own responsibilities because I never wanted to depend on someone else to take care of me.

And more often than not, I have been the person helping others.

If I had it and someone needed it, I helped. If there was something I could do for another person, I tried to do it. I never kept score because I didn’t help people expecting anything in return.

I just never imagined that one day I would be the person on the other side, asking strangers to please help me.

When my parent became seriously ill, there wasn’t much of a decision for me to make. My faith teaches me to honor my parents, and when my parent needed me, I went.

I would make that decision again.

But financially, it has cost me far more than I ever anticipated.

Weeks became months. My savings dwindled while my regular obligations continued. I cut expenses. I stretched every dollar. I kept telling myself, Just make it a little longer. Something will come through.

I have continued looking for work that I can perform from my current location and for other legitimate ways to generate income. I am not sitting around waiting for someone to rescue me. I am fighting every day to get myself out of this situation.

But right now, I have run out of financial runway.

My storage is already on the chopping block, and I am terrified of losing belongings I have spent years working for because I cannot make the payment.

Rent is due again in a matter of days.

My electricity and water are at risk.

And then there are my pets. They didn’t choose any of this. They depend completely on me, and regardless of what I am going through, I still have a responsibility to make sure they have food, water, and a safe and comfortable environment.

These aren’t luxuries.

They are the basics I’m desperately trying to hold onto.

It is incredibly difficult for me to admit this, but I need help now.

If I’m truthful, this feels like begging.

And that hurts.

It hurts to have spent so much of my life taking care of myself and helping other people and suddenly find myself wondering whether strangers might be willing to help me keep my lights on.

But pride isn’t going to pay my rent.

Pride isn’t going to save my belongings from being lost.

Pride isn’t going to keep the electricity and water connected.

And pride isn’t going to take care of the animals that depend on me.

So I’m putting my pride aside and asking:

Please help me.

I am trying to raise enough to cover my immediate expenses and give myself approximately two months of breathing room while I continue working toward stable income. I’m not asking anyone to support me forever. I just need a bridge to get from this crisis to the other side.

And please don’t think your contribution is too small to matter.

$5 helps.
$10 helps.
$20 helps.

Enough small acts of kindness can save a storage unit, keep a utility connected, buy pet food, or put something toward rent.

I am intentionally keeping identifying details private because my parent’s medical circumstances are their story too, and I don’t want their private medical situation—or my financial hardship—connected to either of us publicly.

I wish I were on the other side of this post.

I wish I were reading someone else’s story and deciding what I could afford to give.

That’s the person I’m used to being.

Today, I’m the one asking.

And it truly hurts.

But right now I don’t have the luxury of being too proud to ask.

If you can help me—even a little—please do.

And if enough strangers decide that my story is worth $5, $10, or $20, maybe together you can give me the breathing room I desperately need to get back on my feet.

Thank you for reading this far. And to anyone who chooses to help me, thank you for being there for a stranger at a time when she truly needed someone.
