I would like to introduce my self, I was born and raised in southern Oregon and have two younger sisters, when I turned 4 years old my parents divorced due to an abusive father, my mother divorced my father after 4 years of abuse and took us kids to live with my great grandmother until my mother got back on her feet. at 5 years old my mother met a well mannered charming country guy who soon asked me and my sisters if he could marry my mother, bieng a kid and getting to know him seemed like my mom was safe and growing up over the years proved to be the case and could not ask for a better person for my mother and I consider him as my father Robert. over the years we moved a few places and ended up in northern California. When I graduated high school I immediately started work as  a local laborer for a roofing company and worked very hard for close to a year at 18-19 years old. One day as I was walking back to work from lunch dirty from the job, I was passing a furniture build literally next to my apartment that I worked hard for and as I was passing an older gentleman came out of the furniture store and walked straight over to me and asked me if I wanted a job, I told the guy that I already had a job and I was on my way back to work, and he says how much are they paying you and who do you work for? I told the man that I was bieng paid $6 dollars an hour and that I worked for a roofing company, he then says to me that he would pay me $7:50 an hour to start and that a raise would be had in 6 months if I stayed and proved my self, I said sounds great when can I start? he says can you start tomorrow 7am? I told the man yes I can and we shook hands and I turned around and went back home for the evening and got ready for my new job the next morning. its been 17+ years now working for my boss Ron at the furniture store where I started as a warehouse man/ manager and over the years have seem many people start and leave. I have worked my way to the top as manager and now my boss wants to retire and hand over the business straight across to me this coming year 2024 and that bieng said I am more then excited and happy and its been my Drean for many years to own my own furniture business and I am fully trained to do so and I am prepared for that kind of responsibility, however due to life and its road blocks I have had to as a father and a husband take care of my 6 children and wife all by my self financially for over a year now and my monthly paycheck from my boss just hasn’t been enough which has forced me to use my credit and that bieng said I am in debt 20k and paying my debts on time but at minimum payments to keep in good standings  but its very difficult with only the amount I receive monthly, plus one of my children is only 3 months old and I have been trying to give my new baby daughter all I can. my wife was receiving some funds in the beginning but those funds have been terminated and so its all me and has been for 10 months. my boss is handing the business over to me Jan 1st 2024, I have already got my Ein, business name statement and published, as well as my business  banking accounts all set up, however that leaves me flat broke now for any further capital to continue the process of bieng a business owner unfortunately and the problem is is that my boss is done as of the 1st of 2024 and he wants me to have everything on my end ready at that time so he can hand over the keys to me. I work for a land survey company for close to 7 years now. I’m 57 old and married with 3 daughters. Two still live with us and one just got married in June. We are lower middle class and find the times we are living in pretty hard financially. We recently took our best car, 2009 Nissan to the dealer to have the timing belt replaced. It started rattling and potentially could come apart and thus destroy the motor. I always keep the car clean and in good working order, so I was very distraught when they gave me my car back with a motor that literally would burn 1/2 quart of oil on a 30mile drive. They ruined the motor and after getting 3 opinions from auto mechanics and talking to 2 different lawyers, I was left with the reality I just paid $3K for them to destroy our car. I could never win a legal battle or be able to afford a legal fight with Nissan. As of now, we have one car a pretty beat up 2012 Subaru.

I say all these because this experience and other losses around this time helped me come to a valuable realization. I have a lot of good business ideas and even started a few small businesses over the years. Furthermore, I had a couple of pretty big internet ventures. When I say big, I mean big potential. The problem has been the last venture sent me scampering away with my tail between my legs. It was maybe 8 years ago when I created a platform and business model that helped supply and demand to better integrate their needs. I had 2 partners, a financier, and the sales pro. Everything was going pretty good. Software development was moving along nicely. Then the financier guy tried to take control of the business. It was crushing, and after he was removed it became impossible to cover the costs. We were once offered $100k investment from a future customer after they heard the service offered pitch, at the time we didn’t need investment money. We decline the offer because the system/business logic we were selling had to be neutral for all customers. The $100k would naturally have come with strings, thus neutrality would be lost.

The valuable realization I had was I needed to do what I’m good at; I’m good at inventing, building strategy around internet concepts. I need to once again shack off failure and try to rise up out of the ashes, mostly stop being afraid! I would rather fail, then not trying! So, January 0f 2023 I started working on 2 ideas that I was tossing around in my head. In May, I determined the better of the 2 ideas and went all in. I work a full time job, plus I usually work 40-60 a week on this project. I have invested 100% of the cost thus far, close to $10k, which is a lot of money for our Family. I currently have a developer under contract, putting the finishing touches on a marketing animation video, researched data sheets for the database on both sides of the marketplace, all the strategy, legal, accounting, etc. I have a total of three people under contract until launch. Websites are also being built and much more.

I have enough capital to build and launch, I just don’t have enough to operate for the first month. I need 1 month and 2 people to make it cash positive, the overall business has very minimal expenses and the funds would enable a good push at the time of launch. The initial launch will be a soft launch to get any bugs and kinks out of systems.

The business logic is sound, and the market research conducted was very positive from both user groups. One of the best things about the business is its scalability and design that enables it to easily launch into new markets. This business has the great potential for success and there is an exit strategy if the right situation presented itself.

In 2015 my husband had a stroke and had to stop working. That left me with being the sole provider for our family of 3. My daughter was in high school at the time. We struggled but we made ends meet by doing the best we could to survive.  I am a 53 year old African American and I have resolved to make things better for me and my family no matter what. In spite of everything, my husband was still able to push himself and regain some mobility but he ended up on disability which hardly pays much. To make matters, in 2020 he was diagnosed with lung cancer.  It has been more struggles since then with me having to leave work to follow him to his treatments. He has done chemotherapy, radiation therapy and now he is doing immunotherapy.  This cancer has metastasize to his left hip. He was supposed to do a hip replace surgery about 5 months ago, but was not cleared to do so by his cardiologist. We are holding on to our faith and praying that things will be better.

Now he has been cleared for surgery but we are waiting for a date from his orthopedic oncologist. In the meantime he is a lot of pain and his walking has gotten worse. He can barely move around without help.  To make matters worse, I was recently laid off from my job where I was working for over 7 years.  I now find myself in a financial bind. Our daughter is in college and not able to help at the moment.  I am able to find some amount of employment but I cannot do much right now because of my husband’s condition. I have to be his caregiver.

I would love to become a real estate investor.  I have already done some of the training but I need $20,000 to really get started with this business. Anything towards helping me to reach this goal would be really appreciated.

I have been getting around lately by Uber and Lyft dropping me off location to location, or I will use a U-Haul truck if one is available close by. Yes, I am dedicated. I have 4 kids to feed. No excuses. Those are getting expensive and eating up my profits.
