Hi my name is Brandon I’m 49 and I’m having some medical issues that have caused me to lose my full time job and not able to work at my job for more than a couple hours a day  I’ve need diagnosed with hyper thyroid disease which cause Graves’ disease that cause high heart rate and high blood pressure and afib (atrial fibrillation irregular heartbeat) I need to have surgery to have my thyroid removed and the procedure is very expensive I tried to sign up for disability but was denied so I’m not sure what I’m going to do I’m so far behind in rent I’m going to be evicted 2 weeks before Christmas and I have no where to go I have so many things to move and no where to move it so I’m probably going to lose everything. I have 2 wonderful daughters and 10 new grandchildren between both of them and I would love to grow old and be able to watch them grow up but that’s looking slim if I can’t get surgery. I’ve started feeling depressed because I feel like I can’t get ahead in life or the ability to work like I love to do. Work/Farm truck

My name is Marty. I’m 54 years old, single and disabled. I lost everything during COVID due to being hospitalized with Encephalitis and Covid in 2021 and became homeless. Lived in Atlanta homeless until 4 months ago. My oldest sister who is also disabled insisted that I come and live on her 4 and a half acre property so I moved to Rock Spring, GA. We agreed on $500 for renting her shed out back which is 12’×7′. We are both on fixed income and the property is in desperate need of many things for which we cannot afford. There are a few important things that are needed that would really contribute and help us a lot around here and that is a work truck or farm truck if you will. I’ve been selling firewood to the locals around here but I’m having problems with getting the wood split because of my disability. The farm is dormant and hasn’t been used in years but if I just had a good running work truck I could help her a lot around here and this would in return help me. I’ve got some good ideas on what to farm we’re going to need things like a good running tractor and a decent running work truck. I am disabled and I received SSI which is only $943 a month. And every month that $943 is going within one day for bills and groceries and it leaves nothing for me to save or to invest towards a tractor and a truck. If there is any way that someone who may be reading this could help us please. I know and I feel in my heart that if I had the proper used equipment I would Farm as much of this property as I could and my sister has given me permission to do whatever because she has very little hope. Her single story ranch home is about to come off of the foundation on one side of the house. The original barn that was built I believe in the ’50s or ’60s is dilapidated and has already been damaged from a large cedar tree and she had some neighbors just help her prop everything back up and it looks so dangerous to walk under. There’s even a small pond and it won’t hold water. I need a good running tractor and and a decent running farm truck please because I see almost no other way but to swallow my pride and ask for help. Farmall tractors that are used and in decent condition and running are price between $4,000 and $20,000. A good running farm truck that has the capabilities of a farm truck such as tonnage hauling capacity and in some cases four-wheel drive. I don’t think we need four-wheel drive around here but it could come in handy one day. Most trucks that I found that I would need to do the kind of work that is need to be done around here is priced between $7,000 and $30,000. I’m planning to grow corn, raise honey bees, and goats. But I can’t do either of these without the proper equipment and tools. If I had a tractor and a truck I can begin preparing these four and a half acres for these projects that will sustain us as well as provide for us the kind of help we need to straighten up the foundation on the house and to tear the old barn down and build a new one while providing corn, bees to pollinate our food, and raising goats for their hair, to clear land, for their meat, for their milk, and even for pets. If you’re reading this and you’re considering helping I would be so grateful and happy knowing that there is someone out there that cares. And I don’t want your money. I would just like to have your help with some very necessary equipment so that I can get the ball rolling. it’s been a rough year. Living pay check to pay check and 2 jobs and still just barely staying afloat.  I need the money to pay off my credit debt and medical bills so I can breathe at the end of the day. Happy holidays and thanks to all for reading and responding to my appeal.

BACKGROUND

I have had a severe financial setback at this late stage of my life, but I also believe there might be a unique opportunity of securing my retirement again and also providing a means of helping those in similar situations to do the same.

I am a Master Gardener in both Maine and New Hampshire, with a Bachelor degree in Earth Sciences. I have worked for gardening companies in my local area, have worked at a Farmer’s Market, and Educational Farm and have maintained the grounds of several local estates for the past 8-10 years.

I recently owned 17 acres of some good land in Maine and was beginning to make my retirement home. However, a financial disaster in my family forced me to sell my property to cover these losses. Now I have to start over, though with very limited funds.

THE GOAL

I would like to purchase a somewhat smaller property, establish greenhouses for a nursery, build workshops and set up a retail and internet business presence. Sometime soon thereafter, I would like to hire a small crew and offer classes and training sessions to those who are looking to establish some self-sufficiency in their own lives. (And build a retirement fund for myself as well.)

ASSETS AND FINANCIAL NEEDS

I currently have some cash assets, tools, business contacts, supplies, a legal advisor, on-going employment (part-time) and some other miscellaneous resources to get me started. I have realistic goals and a business plan. I can pay for building materials, seed/plant stocks, transportation and other smaller costs out-of-hand. However, I would like to purchase suitable land before Spring 2025. My searching so far indicates that a 3-5 acre plot of land can be bought for about $25,000-$30,000. This is the amount I am asking for.

REWARDS

I lost my retirement home but now envision a “working retirement”. I have the skill sets and experience to make this work as a small business opportunity with positive cash income.

In exchange for the financial help that I receive, I thought of establishing a grove of American Elm or American Chestnut trees on the property in the name of all those who contribute. Both species were virtually wiped out by pests during the last century and helping to re-establish these species would be a lasting legacy for all of us. I have contacted one state university and they seem willing to lend assistance in getting this started. I desperately need help for Christmas this year, please

Hi my name is Stephanie Barnes I’ve posted a couple of these and I keep forgetting to put my PayPal or my cash app information down at the bottom so I’m so sorry about that. I’m a mother of four wonderful children and I have been trying really hard to make the money that I need for Christmas this year on top of my bills and buying food and I’m not getting help from anybody whatsoever so it’s all on me. In need of emergency funding for home hardship due to Hurricane Helene
My small family and I live in a small town off the coast of South Carolina. We are some of the fortunate that are blessed to have survived, we were hit pretty severely. I had to have a tree cut down on yesterday, it took about six men and three hours to bring it down. $1100 to cut & leave the debris. I was then told that there are (6) others that need to be removed. I currently can’t afford it.
We live in a single family brick house 3BR/2BR house on 1.12acre of land. We filed with Fema and were Paid $300 for expenses. Our house was built in 1957. Its very mean To our family. It was my grandfather’s house. The house that build me! We have five broken windows from flying debris, most of our major appliances we lost during the power surges. Our hot water heater element blew and busted a pipe underneath the bathtub. That caused our house to flood. It was capped, currently unable to use and is in need of replacement piping and prefabricated conversation.
We were out of electric for three days. We lost our living room furniture, three bed sets, clothing, books, shoes, private art portfolio, picture albums, personal items and a lot of stuff that honestly can’t be replaced right now. We’ve tried buying what we can each week to go towards each project to get back into our home. Thankfully we were able to get a local hotel room . We have pets at home that require love and care. It’s a constant race driving back-n-forth. Plus, we have a leaky faucet. The shower knobs have to be replaced as well. I bought a new sink for the master bathroom. Unfortunately, I haven’t hired a plumber for the job yet and this five gallon bucket fills up every three hours.
Everything cost so much to get fixed. I lost my job before the hurricane. It wasn’t much, but it helped pay our electric bill and my car payment each month. I had to let my car go back after the hurricane, so here we are asking for help, We’re a family of four. My husband and I of twenty six years and two beautiful daughters. I have tried and now I am in need for me and my children

I never thought I would actually have the courage to ask for help nor did I ever think I would be in this position to ask for help. I have always worked very hard and worked as a salaied manager in the grocery and restaurant industries beginning at the age of 17. I never depended on others for me or my children. Everything changed the year that Covid hit in 2020. I had to stay home with my children as they were on remote schooling. I even took this time to continue my education and obtained another college degree online. During this year the father of my twins(who are now 12) pasted away. We were not together at his time of death, I had discovered he had some demons with drug use that did lead to the end of his life. I felt horrible for my twins. I also lost the house I was buying, two cars, and an unknown amount of cash that was all due to his drug use before I discovered what was happening. As soon as I discovered his drug use we were not together, I did not want to put my children in danger, I do have 2 older children with my exhusband(a daughter in college now and my son just turned 14) I still worked during all of this and eventually got past these hurdles and purchased a house and car. Life was getting back to normal. I worked very hard to provide everything my children needed and also made sure the received counselling after the death of the twins’ father and have always ensured my children were well taken care of and happy. They were all doing well and all are involved in sports and extracurricular activities. While I was not working due to the Covid school issue I sustained severe back injuries as well as many torn ligament in my knees and ankles. I am also blessed with inheriting arthritus in my hands from both sides of my family. I tried tp go back to work and even tried other jobs but am still unable to work. I have been going to doctors and specialists to try and treat my injuries. I have tried to do some remote work from home and then something unexpected happened. The twins paternal grandparents filed for custody of my twins. They did this with paperwork that I have proof to be untrue and all their allegations are false but I could not afford a lawyer for my hearing and did not even meet or hear from my court appointed lawyer until we were entering the first hearing. I gave her all my paperwork that showed their claims are false but unfortunately she never even tried to give them to the judge. I have only been able to have supervised visitation with them twice a month and I have yet to get a full session of the limited visitations because the grandparents would schedule for activities and I have gotten 45 minutes at best during my limited visitations. I am still unable to work but have some savings to pay my bills but there is no way I can afford a lawyer. The first hearing was in September and they scheduled the next for early December. It is only a few weeks away and I have reached out to my lawyer and cannot get a call or even message from her. When I met her as we went into the first hearing she said she had been busy helping her parents move. I understand the importance of family, but I want and deserve to have my twins home again. I hate asking for help but I would appreciate any help I could get, I would even set up a way to pay anything back over time. But today is Thanksgiving (Nov 28th) and my next hearing is December 9th. Today I made the decision to ask for help, I have tried to avoid this. But I miss my girls and I need a lawyer so I can get them back. I am a good mom. I love my children and give them my time. I do not date or go out with friends, I focus on my children. I want to add I have never been in trouble ( never even received detention in school) I worked for 2 companies and had the same boss for 22 years. My injuries have been a huge problem finding a job that I can perform. I am college educated and have always been a good mom. The grandparents have been trying to do this for while I think and I honestly do not know why they did this. Let me add the grandmother(actually a step grandmother) work for the board of education and used her position to fake some of the complaints filed against me. The complaimts are so easily proven false that I could sue them for defamation of charactere. I just want my girls back and I need help. So many other things happened like losing my mother and father in the previous year but this is already a very long post. I feel horrible asking for help, but I love my children and want them back home. If anyone can help I would be extremely grateful. The next hearing is coming so fast, but not having them for Thanksgiving pushed me to finally ask for help. Please help me

I never thought I would end up in a situation like this- but I have gotten myself in a financial hole. A big one.  I changed  states when I got my job- had to drop 6k on moving costs, then I sold my car, which, was under water so I lost another 3k. Now, I’m just digging out. I owe the IRS 5k, everytime I get paid, I end up being overdrafted by the next paycheck. I owe the IRS money because I had a second job last year. I am trying desperately to get 10k- square up with the IRS- get rid of the few dumb credit card purchases u cracked up when I was in my 20s. I am 35- I live alone. It’s just me taking care of me and its all too much. I just want to fix the debt and move on.  I know it’s so stupid but if anyone has ever been kind of bad at math and one dumb move turned into another- please- think about sending me some money. *I would just like to start by saying that i did not even know this existed until my level of desperation brought me here. So that being said.. Hi. My name is Ann and i am almost 35 years old, with the most amazing 13 child on the planet. since November of last year , my father passed away unexpectedly, his estranged wife took out home, our inheritance from our grandparents, my husband moved out and left me with all of the bills, including all of the credit card debt. He relocated on his own, then I got told I needed to move from where we were living. I amazingly managed to get approved for a place, on my own, for the very first time. I was left to move mostly by myself and pay rent at both places. I have a good job but due to on going health issues and potential auto immune disease, I have been out of work since Oct. My ex can’t/won’t help me and I am completely alone with absolutely no help. My credit is shot, I have applied for over 10 personal loans but could not get approved for anything.  I have never felt so discouraged, defeated, and disappointed. Soon to be mom! Denied welfare because I worked a little over the limit.

My baby is due in 6 weeks. I’m a certified nursing assistant and work for a private family, taking care of a young girl with cerebral palsy. My hours have been cut due to my patient being in the hospital for two weeks before I welcome my son into this world. I applied for CalWorks and was denied because I “work too much”. I make 1200 a month and pay 500 in rent. It’s hard to hear that because I work all the hours I can while I’m over 8 months pregnant for a girl in desperate need of nursing care, I’m denied help. I currently have 29 dollars in my account and will only be working two more weeks until I go on maternity leave.
