Widow struggling to keep head above water

Introduction:
Hello, my name is Deborah, and I find myself in a difficult financial situation that has led me to seek support. At 71 years old, I am facing numerous challenges after losing my job and accumulating significant debt. With a heavy heart, I share my story with the hope that it will resonate with kind-hearted individuals who may be willing to extend a helping hand during this trying time.

In 2020, my job was unexpectedly outsourced, leaving me without a stable income. It was a devastating blow as I had just started contributing to my 401(k) and managed to save $45,000 by consistently putting away 40% of my salary each month. Unfortunately, the loss of my job forced me to deplete those savings, leaving me with little to fall back on.

Adding to my financial struggles, my home has fallen into disrepair. The electricity no longer works in the back half of the house, leading to daily inconveniences and safety concerns. Furthermore, a gas leak forced the disconnection of the gas supply, making it challenging to meet basic needs. These issues have accumulated over time, making it increasingly difficult for me to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.

Currently, my sole source of income is Social Security benefits. However, the limited funds provided by Social Security are barely sufficient to cover my basic daily expenses. The outstanding debt on my home, totaling $75,000, weighs heavily on my mind and adds additional strain to my financial situation. At my age, finding employment is not easy, but I refuse to lose hope. I am actively searching for new job opportunities, believing that there are still employers who value the skills and experience older individuals bring to the table.

It is with a heavy heart that I find myself reaching out to the community and humbly asking for assistance. I understand that we are all facing our own challenges, but any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in my life. Whether it is through financial aid or sharing this plea with others who may be willing to help, your support can give me hope for a brighter future.

I appreciate the opportunity given here and thank you for any assistance you are able to provide.   paypal.me/Deborah8541

The importance of financial stability for couples and why me and my wife need money

Introduction:
Financial stability plays a crucial role in the lives of individuals and families, providing a sense of security, opportunities for growth, and the ability to fulfill various needs and aspirations. In this essay, we will explore why financial stability is essential for couples, specifically focusing on the reasons why me and my wife need money.
Body:

1. Meeting Basic Needs:
Financial stability ensures that couples can meet their basic needs, such as housing, food, healthcare, and transportation. These fundamental requirements form the foundation for a comfortable and fulfilling life. Having enough money allows me and my wife to live in a safe and suitable environment, ensuring our well-being and overall quality of life.

2. Building a Strong Future:
Financial stability enables couples to plan for the future and build a strong foundation for themselves and their family. It provides the means to invest in long-term goals, such as education, homeownership, retirement savings, and starting a family. With sufficient financial resources, me and my wife can secure a better future for ourselves and our loved ones.

3. Pursuing Personal and Professional Growth:
Money can support personal and professional growth, allowing couples to pursue their passions, interests, and career aspirations. It provides the opportunity to invest in education, acquire new skills, and explore personal development avenues. Financial stability empowers me and my wife to unlock our full potential and achieve personal and professional fulfillment.

4. Weathering Unexpected Challenges:
Life is full of uncertainties, and financial stability acts as a safety net during times of crisis. Having money set aside for emergencies, such as medical expenses, job loss, or natural disasters, provides a sense of security and peace of mind. It allows couples to navigate through difficult times without compromising their well-being or resorting to unnecessary stress.

5. Strengthening Relationships:
Financial stability can significantly impact the dynamics and harmony within a relationship. Money-related stress is one of the leading causes of conflicts among couples. By having enough financial resources, me and my wife can reduce financial stress and focus on nurturing our relationship. It enables us to spend quality time together, engage in shared experiences, and create lasting memories.

6. Enjoying Leisure and Entertainment:
Money provides the means to enjoy leisure activities and entertainment, fostering joy, relaxation, and happiness within our relationship. Whether it’s going on vacations, dining out, attending concerts, or engaging in hobbies, having financial stability allows us to create a balanced and enjoyable lifestyle. It enhances the overall well-being and satisfaction of both partners.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, financial stability is crucial for couples like me and my wife. It not only ensures the fulfillment of basic needs but also provides opportunities for personal growth, future planning, and the ability to weather unexpected challenges. Moreover, financial stability strengthens relationships, promotes leisure and entertainment, and ultimately contributes to a happier and more fulfilling life together. By recognizing the importance of financial stability, me and my wife can work towards achieving our financial goals and securing a prosperous future.

Lost everything from car accident

I’ve worked in hospitality for thirty-five years. I always worked in the accounting department. I would also work in other departments when needed. I worked sixteen to eighteen hour days to provide for my family. Always tried to be there for my family no matter what. I raised three children alone and I thank God neither of them ever been in jail or had a drug addition. On 31 Dec 2012, I had a heart attack that put me in the hospital for nine days. This is where my life took a turn downhill. My daughter came to the hospital and after my release, brought me to Seattle, WA. I stayed with my daughter and got on disability. I paid her $500 month for rent. I received a small inheritance and was able to purchase a car. I helped my daughter with her bills and paid for her wedding. Needless to say my money ran out through helping her and her spouse get ahead. Well they purchased a house and there wasn’t any room for me. So I now stay with my son and his wife. This is a position I never wanted to be in; depending on my kids.

On 25 Sept, I was in a car accident. I was told by the towing yard that it was totaled. I’m still waiting for the insurance company to let me know the status of my claim. I doordash for extra money. The accident happened after I dropped off my last order. The insurance company is trying to dispute that I think. They told me on Monday (9 Oct 2023) that my claim was sent to the oversight committee to be determined. He said it would take around twenty-four hours before a decision is made and they would contact me when they do. On 12 Oct, I received an email telling me that they will let me know their decision in thirty days.

I’m retired now and receive one check a month. I doordash to supplement my income. Without a car, I have no way of making any money now. I’m trying to find other work, but no one wants to hire a sixty-nine year old in fair health. I pay my son $450 a month for rent. My car payment is $600 a month; that’s basically my check. I still have to make that car payment until the insurance company’s final decision. If they decide to decline my claim, then I’d have to make this payment until the car is paid off. I’d also have pay the tow yard. Now I have a hospital bill sent to me for $8,238.00 for the night of the accident. My bank account is literally empty until next month. I’ve tried borrowing from friends and family to no avail. Everyone is struggling.
I’ve never done anything like this before. This is definitely a humbling experience. If there is a chance that anyone would help me, I’d greatly appreciate it. Whatever is given is a blessing. Thank you in advance.

With sincere gratitude
Marion Coleman

Abandoned marriage

Hello, I’m a single mother of 2. Unfortunately I’m currently going through a separation. Can’t afford a lawyer for a divorce and the pro bono  lawyers around here are not really pro Bono. After our lease was up in March of this year I didn’t hear from him and when I did it was usually drama. I was left with a car note at almost 700 a month. My car insurance was canceled. But that alone was at 180 something a month. I only work 3 days due to hours being cut at work. Currently trying to find a side job that will work with my schedule seeing that I have 2 kids in elementary still. I have a storage unit that costs about 330 a month because I have nowhere to put my stuff. My kids and I currently share a room. So we’re a tight fit and my kids need their space. I have asked to borrow money to help with bills but after trying to pay that back, it brought me back to being late on bills or not being able to pay them. My daughter needs a root canal done and every where I go want to charge cash at $2300.00! All these specialists from what I’ve seen only take cash payments which I cannot afford at the moment. Gas has been crazy as well seeing that I try to keep my kids in sports so they won’t be bored outta their minds in one room all day. Don’t have funds to take them anywhere like I use to. I can’t ask for spousal support because we were married under 5 years and even if I wanted to I wouldn’t be able to due to all the debt he’s in. I tried section 8 but lists are closed. The one I did apply for I got rejected. I don’t qualify for cash aid. But right now I’m just trying to keep my car since that’s all I own and what takes me to my job and kids to school. My stuff in storage is also all I have and I can’t sell stuff if they have a lock on it for me not being able to pay it. Anything will help at this point. I know eventually work will pick up or I’ll get blessed with another good paying job. But until then we’d really appreciate anything. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Stay blessed! Financial Hostage (Single Mother of 2)

Hi. I’m so sad and embarrassed to have to ask for help this way, but I desperately need it. My parents have been holding me financially hostage for quite some time now, and I am struggling to support my family. I don’t trust anyone else to watch my children (which I now know is a mistake). They charge me $1200/mo to baby sit for only 4 days per week. I do get help from the father, but since he has been paying me through them, I don’t receive the child support. They keep it as “repayment” for when they helped me out after our separation. I spend $2400/mo on just rent and childcare alone, and that’s not including the fact that my parents also make me provide food. I’ve asked them to lower the amount, but instead of cutting me a break so that I can provide for my family, they’ve demanded to see my check stubs to further control me. Any time I refuse to do what they want, they tell me that I’ll have to quit my job since I now, “don’t have a babysitter”. I’ve been struggling with the idea of putting them in daycare because I’ve been made to feel terrified of someone harming my children. My parents have used many fear tactics to ensure that my state of mind stays this way, but now I’m at my wits end with this arrangement and I have to break free. They spend my money on my children and then tell me I have to pay back what they’ve spent, so every other day I get a phone call about owing $60 here and $100 there. I cannot sustain our lives this way. In total, my bills are about $4500/mo, but anything will help. Please help me get on my feet and out of this situation. Thank you for your time and support.❤️

IN DESPERATE NEED TO GET UP TO MY FEET AGAIN

I am kindly asking for help from anyone who is able to help me. As a single mother I have been through a lot to a point where I had to sell my house which I could not keep up with the bills. At the moment I am really struggling paying rent, I have utilised all the resources I had.

I have credits totalling to $30,000 but whatever I could helped with I will appreciate it. I would like to go back to school but at the moment I can not afford as I have to pay the car note and credit cards.

I even used my 401 to help me out, but now I have reached a dead end and I am pleading for help to lift up my back.  I am praying for guiding Angel to rescue me out of this darkness and stressful situation.

I fell at work  and broke my arm, this lead to disfiguring me and do require to go for adjustment 3 times a week, but due to financial restrain, I just go once a week.

Please I am begging, let this be answer to my prayers.

Thank you

Not a victim but a Survivor of childhood molestation!!!

I hope this letter finds you well and in good health. I am writing to you today with a heart heavy with both vulnerability and a strong desire for a fresh start.

Over the years, I have faced a dental issue that has not only affected my ability to speak and eat but has also taken a significant toll on my self-esteem. It is not easy to admit, but my teeth have deteriorated to a point where they are causing me severe discomfort and embarrassment. It’s been an ongoing battle that I’ve struggled to face on my own.

The difficulty of communicating and the embarrassment I experience when eating in public or even speaking with others have become daily challenges that I wish to overcome. I believe that addressing this dental issue is the key to regaining my confidence and improving my overall quality of life.

I have explored various avenues for help, but the financial burden associated with dental care is daunting, and I find myself in a situation where I cannot afford the necessary treatment. This is where I humbly turn to you, not out of entitlement, but with the hope that you might consider assisting me on this journey to reclaim my oral health.

Your support could truly make a world of difference for me. It’s not just about teeth; it’s about rebuilding my life and reestablishing my self-worth. I aspire to be able to smile without self-consciousness, speak with clarity, and enjoy meals without anxiety.

I understand that times are tough for many, and asking for assistance can be uncomfortable. However, I want to assure you that any help you can provide, whether through guidance, financial support, or recommendations, would be deeply appreciated and used responsibly.

I am committed to taking this opportunity to regain my oral health as a step towards personal transformation, and I promise to pay your kindness forward in any way I can.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for considering my request. Your support would mean more to me than words can express. its going to cost me 65,000.00 at clear choice dental to replace all 32 teeth in all actual i only have 14 teeth in my mouth right Now https://www.paypal.me/rahsweets

Just trying to get back on track and caught up!

My family and I would greatly appreciate any help. We have about $15,000 in debt since my husband was laid off during COVID. He was working for an engineering firm and the owner died in a plane crash and the company was sold. 75% of the employees were laid off. This was the only type of firm in our city. I work full time, and luckily, work in healthcare so my job was secure, but I am not clinical, and I do not get paid enough to cover all of our expenses. My husband kept being told he was overqualified, even for McDonald’s. We had to sell his truck and hour house to keep up and now we just can’t get caught up. I have 3 kids in high school and 1 in elementary. They are having a hard time because we are struggling to keep food in the house, pay the bills, pay the loans, and get them clothes and shoes. I am also wanting to start a home bookkeeping company, but I can’t afford the LLC to start because we are penny pinching. We have applied for food stamps, and I keep getting told that I make too much money for a family of 6. My husband has been with his company now for about 6 months, but all of our paychecks are going to loans and bills. We have been late on rent the last two months and are just needing help to get caught up. Please help we just want to get out of the hole and get back to being able to use our checks for just everyday needs, bills, and food. My PayPal is @marissagallow and my Cash App is $MarissaGallow.

Hardworking, God loving, single woman struggling to make ends meat.

I have been working in public education for the past 16 years.  I love my job, the kiddos make me happy. I am an hourly employee, so when school is out I do not get paid.  Three months a year with no income.  I have been divorced for almost six years after 26 years of marriage.  It has been a struggle to make it financially on my own.  After inflation, I had to take a second job just to survive.  I live a humble life.  I do not own credit cards, I do not spend money unnecessary money on myself.   I am 55 years old, and I own my own home,  It is small, but it is enough for me. I own $35,000 on it and then I own it free and clear.  I am getting too old to work 50 hours a week, six days a week.   I have been hit hard this past year with extra expenses.  My furnace is on its last leg, it will cost me about $7,500 to replace it.  I own my own vehicle, it is 10 years old with 110K miles.  It will last me another 5+ plus years if I replace the timing belt for $1,000.  I live paycheck to paycheck, my savings are drained, and my alimony ended in June 2023.  I asked my ex-husband, who is wealthy if he could help me out with my added expenses, and he said no.  I am not one to ask for money.  When I heard of this site on YouTube, I thought it couldn’t hurt to try.  There are other kind, generous people like me out there. Thank you for reading.  If you could find it in your heart to help me with any amount it would be greatly appreciated.  God Bless you.  https://paypal.me/CarrieA1986?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US

Drowning in the desert

You don’t know me or maybe you do?  I could be your brother, son, uncle or father.  I have worked hard my whole life to provide for my family and have had success most of my life, which I feel maybe part of my problem.  My ego would not allow for me to admit to myself that I needed help.  My family has had a rough few years but I won’t depress you with our sad stories.  I have robbed Peter to pay Paul and now the music has stopped and I find myself without a chair.  I have put my family at risk and I need a lifeboat to try to repair the damage I have caused.  We are facing multiple financial challenges.

Needing help with medical bills & living costs for spinal injuries and another surgery

Hello,

I am a mom of 3 kiddos unable to work at the moment following spinal injuries  from 3 different car accidents  that almost took my life. They have certainly taken my ability to drive the hour to town (we live remotely due to my husbands job) to be employed or sit at a desk for more than 10 minutes. My husband works in renewable energy but he is the only one that’s able to work and with the inflation and rising costs of everything we really need help. I have applied twice for disability and of course been denied. I don’t know what to do anymore, have exhausted all of our HSA funds, and am just feeling defeated. I have been looking for remote jobs and have applied for over 300 of them on indeed in the last 2 years. Let me back up a little and say I’m 2018 I had vertebrae replacement surgery in my neck, 3 months post op I drove for the first time on my own since surgery to do some last minute Christmas shopping for our kids. A woman ran a red light as I was making a left hand turn going 65-70 mph and damaged my spine even further. I was feeling better than I had in 10 years after surgery up until that point. Since then, I have tried to pick up the pieces with no luck on a job that I could work remotely therefore we have really suffered these past 4 years. I have suffered every day since then with immense pain that doesn’t go away, tons of dr appointments, tons of therapy, I need 3 different surgeries 1 to put the vertebrae replacement hardware back into place, 1 to relieve the pressure where I’m bone on bone, and another that I have an appointment with the surgeon next month about. I am hoping that someone can help or even give me a remote job so I can earn the money I need. I’m desperate. I feel like a burden and just need to be able to help provide for my children and get the help I need to maybe one day have a normal life again. The pain is never ending and the stress is killing me being unable to provide for our children.

Open Hearts and Helping Hand Up.

Hello reader,

I am here on this website to do one of the hardest things I have ever done, and that is ask for help. I am a person who has always stood on my own and was the one who was the helper, and now I find myself on the other end. Since COVID-19, I have been slowly drowning in financial hardship, with the surmounting debt that I have incurred due to survival and not frivolous spending, I have to swallow my pride and see if I can now be helped. I need to purchase a car to keep the job I recently obtained, my car of over 20 years no longer is reliable enough to get me back and forth to my job. My travel to and from work is about 45 mins to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic that day. Trying to get out of debt, and stay afloat, adding a car payment is not looking good for the budget. Since this is not something I am comfortable doing, I am at a loss for words. I feel embarrassed even though my situation, occurred due to losing my job and not being able to obtain one for several years. Once I obtained my job, I knew that it would not be easy getting out of such a large amount of debt, but I knew I would do what was necessary to do it. I am a proud mature woman and knew from very young that you need to be financially responsible, and while I admit I made my mistakes along the way, I have always bounced back and got on track. Covid-19 took all my savings and retirement funds, and never did I think it would take me so long to return to work. I have always worked hard and looked for ways to keep myself marketable in the work field never considering that my age would hold me back, but this time it did.  I am a well-educated individual, with high moral standards, yet life has hit me hard. I believe I still have several good years of working before retiring and need kind, financially stable people to find it in their hearts to help me be able to live and provide for myself by assisting me to purchase a reliable vehicle to get back and forth to work. If after reading this you are someone who can and is willing to help, I want to say thank you and how appreciative I am for your help, no matter how big or small. Just the fact that you are willing to help in itself is greatly appreciated. I know that you will be blessed, God smiles on those who help others in need and shows favor. Never does it say you will never need help, but to help those when you are able, and it will be returned to you. Thank you all for reading this and for whatever you are inspired to do.

God Bless,

Mary Spodnik
