Help Rebuild My Farming Well and Protect Wildlife in Sri Lanka

 

Hello, I am Susil Jayatissa, a peace judge from Sri Lanka. I own a one-hectare plot of cultivated land that is my family’s only source of income. With help from the World Bank, I once built a 25-foot-deep cultivation well and installed a solar-powered water pump to irrigate the land.

However, last year’s heavy rains caused the well’s banks to collapse, filling it with soil and making it impossible to pump water. Now, I cannot cultivate my land or earn any income. Sadly, I also lost all my other properties during violent unrest in the country, leaving me without any financial support or access to bank loans.

To restore the well, I need to remove the collapsed soil using an excavator and strengthen the well’s banks with cement bricks. This will make the well safe, long-lasting, and usable for cultivation again.

In addition, wild elephants often visit my farm to drink water. Some have fallen into the damaged well and been injured. I also lose crops to elephant damage. To protect both the elephants and my crops, I plan to build a 6-foot-high cement wall around the well and install a solar-powered electric fence around the farm.

Creating Dreams in Japan

 

Hello! Thanks to whoever has come to find this. Ive been living in Osaka Japan for about 8 years, and have been enjoying my time so far. I model, act, do sales, social media marketing, podcasting, art, make music, and more. It’s exciting and makes living out here, nice. But I’m hoping to build some kind of community out here.  Something that helps to build creativity and connections.  I want to get fluent in Japanese (I’m pretty close) so I can more easily negotiate with businesses (Im hoping to take advance level professional japanese called ‘keigo’ used in more professional environments) , create a studio for music and podcasting, start an official social media marketing company, and use these to build things to get creatives to link up. I find myself meeting tons of talented and creative individuals with desires to explore and express these things.  But people don’t really have the resources or infrastructure to do that.  Of course there are events and pockets of people to connect. But there’s no go to place, and I think I can do that. It’s a little disheartening, but it’s motivated me to want to do something about that. Temporary Unemployed Father Requesting donation to support for the family until get back on own feet.

I’m reaching out today because I’ve exhausted all other options. I’m a Sri Lankan who worked in Construction industry in Maldives under Chinese company and due to lack of Projects and financial issues in the company management was implemented Staff reduction. Unfortunately, I was one of staff member in the list and I find myself temporarily unemployed starting from July 2025, with management request I have sing the Voluntary resignations has only income compounded my financial struggles.

Foundation Program Tuition fee

Hello everyone

My name is Hilmy. I’m from Indonesia and I just applied to Uni abroad for bachelor degree but my secondary qualification turns out didn’t meet most of the universities entry requirement because they only accept qualification from SMA (Senior High School) for Indonesian students while mine is SMK (Vocational High School). so I decide to apply for some diploma and foundation year program. It turns out that I was also rejected because they only accept SMA qualification from Indonesia.

I don’t give up, I keep looking for a way to get into universities until I finally got accepted into a foundation year in a university that has an entry requirement for an SMK student like me and I passed all the entry requirements. They also offered me the bachelor program with one condition, I have to finish the foundation program.

The only problem is that I don’t have money to pay the tuition fee even though I already get a 20% discount because the money is so expensive with the Indonesian course. I am working full time at an Indonesian bank as a junior engineer to raise money for the tuition fee, but I never reach even 1/4 of the total tuition fee. I have also applied for some scholarships and I get rejected because they only accept students who are doing bachelor or master program.

So I need help to pay the tuition for the Foundation Program and some other things like visa, accommodation and health insurance that are necessary. I will need about $45,000 – $50,000 for all of this. For the bachelor program, I will work harder to get money and find some other scholarships that can help me. A few months ago, I became the victim of an online scam that resulted in a loss of nearly $6000, money I had worked very hard to save. The scam started out as what appeared to be a legitimate investment opportunity, presented in a professional and convincing way. I did my best to verify the source, but unfortunately, like many others, I fell for it. The person behind it disappeared, and the funds are now gone, with no way to trace or recover them.

In the past two years, I’ve lost over $60,000 to online sports betting on Bet365, and most of my gambling funds were borrowed from loan institutions, with extremely high interest rates and a repayment term of only one year. In addition, I was scammed out of over $10,000 by cryptocurrency exchange fraudsters and online e-commerce course scams. Together with living expenses and other spending, I now owe more than $80,000 in debt. I haven’t told my wife about any of this because if I do, she might divorce me.
