Single Mom Overcoming Homelessness and domestic Violence Struggling to be independent

Business Plan

Iconic

Revised January 6, 2025

Executive Summary

Iconic, established in 2022, is a pioneering mobile juice bar specializing in organic hydration products, including cold-pressed juices, handcrafted soaps, body butters, and branded apparel. As a Maryland-based Limited Liability Company (LLC), Iconic has carved out a niche market by predominantly serving a diverse clientele ranging from yoga enthusiasts and health aficionados to professionals like nurses, doctors, and educators. This business plan outlines the request for a $90,000 loan under the SBA loan program to scale operations, enhance our marketing efforts, expand our workforce, and purchase essential equipment.

In the intensely competitive landscape of organic juices, Iconic distinguishes itself through exemplary customer service and innovative offerings. Unique services like personalized name orders and packages mimic the nostalgic excitement akin to that of an ice-cream truck, spec ifically tailored for children, making healthy choices fun and engaging. Iconic aims to deepen its market penetration by establishing a physical storefront and broadening its product range to include new, exciting flavors. Strategic partnerships with local health, fitness businesses, and educational institutions are envisaged to bolster community engagement and broaden our customer base.

The future for Iconic looks promising with plans to transform our mobile setup into a robust brick-and-mortar establishment that not only serves juices but becomes a staple in community health initiatives and local economic growth. Our competitive edge, coupled with strategic marketing and an expansion of our operational capabilities using the funds acquired, will enable Iconic to achieve new milestones in customer reach and satisfaction.

  • Market Opportunity: Serving a diverse, health-conscious demographic in Maryland with expansion potential.
  • Competitive Advantage: Mobile service, personalized customer engagement, and high-quality, innovative products set Iconic apart from competitors like Suja, Raw Generation, and others.
  • Funding Utilization: The requested $90,000 will be allocated to crucial areas such as marketing, hiring additional staff, procuring more equipment, and investing in a specialized juice truck to enhance operational efficiency.

Owned entirely by Shade Fitzgerald, Iconic is not just a business venture but a movement towards integrating healthful living with everyday convenience. This SBA loan will be a stepping stone towards achieving the larger aspirations of Iconic to lead and innovate in the organic juice market.

Company Description

Iconic, an innovative organic juice company based in Maryland, was established in 2022 with a mission to inspire healthier communities by connecting people to real food. We understand the importance of easy access to delicious and nutritious products, and we cater to a diverse group of health enthusiasts, including yoga practitioners, vegans, and families, as well as busy professionals like nurses and teachers.

As a mobile juice bar that operates under the legal structure of an LLC, Iconic provides not only refreshing, cold-pressed juices but also handcrafted soaps, body butters, and branded apparel. Our unique business model combines the appeal of an ice cream truck with the wellness-focused offerings that modern consumers demand. We have created a friendly, accessible service where each customer can feel cherished and acknowledged, through features like individualized name orders and personalized packages.

Role and Purpose

Through our distinctive mobile service and quality organic products, Iconic aims to solve the problem of limited access to healthful beverages and wellness products in everyday settings. We not only seek to expand the traditional vending model by integrating it with innovative marketing and community-focused strategies but also to enhance the availability of organic nutrition on-the-go.

Core Objectives and Development Plans

The core objective of Iconic is to grow beyond our mobile operations by establishing a permanent brick-and-mortar location, expanding our product flavors, and integrating more deeply with our Maryland community. Strategic partnerships with local health and fitness businesses, schools, and daycares are planned to leverage fundraising opportunities and broaden our market reach.

Management Team and Structure

Founded and solely owned by Shade Fitzgerald, Iconic benefits from her passion and commitment to fostering a healthier lifestyle accessible to all. Her leadership is geared towards ensuring excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.

Future Aspirations

With the receipt of a $90,000 SBA loan, Iconic plans to significantly boost our capabilities. The intended use of these funds includes an aggressive marketing campaign, hiring additional staff, purchasing essential equipment, and acquiring an additional juice truck to expand our geographical reach and service capacity.

Market Analysis

In the rapidly evolving organic juice market, the strategic positioning of Iconic plays a pivotal role in its sustainability and growth. Established in 2022 in Maryland, Iconic serves a niche customer base comprising yoga goers, health enthusiasts, vegans, and professionals such as nurses and teachers. Our company differentiates itself by providing not just cold-pressed juices but also extending its product line to include handcrafted soaps, body butters, and branded clothing.

Competitor Landscape

The market features notable competitors such as Suja, Raw Generation, Sunset Raw, The Purple Flip, and Pur Green. These competitors have established a presence in the national market with their diverse range of organic juices. However, Iconic distinguishes itself through its mobile operations model, which resembles an ice cream truck but caters to a healthier lifestyle, appealing particularly to families and children. This mobile feature, along with excellent customer service, individualized name orders, and personalized packages, provides Iconic with a competitive edge.

Market Opportunities and Expansion

Iconic has identified multiple opportunities for expansion and differentiation. The introduction of new flavors and the extension into more physical locations, specifically a brick-and-mortar store, are immediate developmental plans. Additionally, partnerships with local health and fitness centers, schools, and daycare centers for fundraising opportunities will leverage community engagement and broaden our customer base.

Trends and Customer Engagement

The demand for organic and health-oriented products shows significant seasonality aligned with new year resolutions and summer months, where health consciousness is at its peak. Capitalizing on these trends through strategic marketing campaigns during these high-demand periods will drive sales and enhance brand visibility. Furthermore, our plans to invest in a bespoke juice truck will cater to community events and festivals, significantly increasing direct customer engagement.

Strategic Advantages

Iconic’s strategic advantages are multi-fold. The uniqueness of a mobile juice bar offering fresh, organic refreshments in a consumer-friendly manner is a distinctive model that sets Iconic apart in the marketplace. This flexibility in location and personalization of services, paired with our commitment to an exceptional customer experience, creates a strong brand recall.

With an investment of $90,000 sought for marketing, hiring, equipment, and the expansion of our juice truck, Iconic is positioned for accelerated growth and a robust market presence, promising a substantial return on investment through a clearly defined and achievable expansion plan.

Service Or Productline

At Iconic, we specialize in providing an extensive range of organic hydration solutions tailored specifically for a diverse clientele that includes yoga enthusiasts, health devotees, vegans, and professionals like nurses, doctors, and teachers. Established in 2022 as a limited liability company, we pride ourselves not just on our products but on the unique delivery and personalization of our services.

Product and Service Description

Our product line includes freshly made, cold-pressed juices, hand-crafted soaps, body butters, and a distinct range of branded apparel. Each juice is created using only the highest quality, organic ingredients, ensuring a product that is not only refreshing but also supportive of a healthy lifestyle. The hand-crafted soaps and body butters utilize natural ingredients which cater specifically to those with an eye for ethical and health-conscious products. Our apparel further promotes and embodies the lifestyle associated with our brand’s ethos, combining style with practicality for the active individual.

Unique Selling Proposition

Iconic differentiates itself from competitors such as Suja, Raw Generation, and Sunset Raw through several exciting features. Unique to our offering includes services like individualized name orders and personalized packages, which create a more personalized experience for each customer. Additionally, our mobility – akin to an ice cream truck – brings nostalgia and convenience into the mix, allowing us to deliver a unique, fun experience especially appealing to children and busy families.

Customer Benefits

The direct access to our products via our mobile juice trucks not only ensures freshness but also unparalleled convenience. Our clients benefit from the ability to personalize their orders and receive products that meet their specific health and dietary needs directly at their homes, places of work, or even during events and gatherings. This enhances their experience by offering not just a product but a service that fits into their lifestyle.

Product Lifecycle

The lifecycle of our products starts from sourcing the highest quality, organic ingredients, followed by a meticulous process of production that ensures preservation of nutrients and freshness. Subsequently, the products are delivered directly to customers through our mobile services, and feedback is gathered to continuously improve the product and tailor offerings.

Plans for Future Development

The pursuit of expanding our services is ever-present. Our future plans include opening a brick-and-mortar location which will serve as the central hub for production and new product development. We aim to expand our product flavors and work closely with local health and fitness centers, schools, and daycares to create collaborative products and fundraising opportunities that benefit the community. These steps are geared towards amplifying our reach and deepening our market penetration.

Intellectual Property and Research

We intend to safeguard our unique recipes and branding through appropriate intellectual property registrations, including copyrights for our branding elements and patents for our unique juice formulations. This will protect our market share and enhance the brand’s value, ensuring Iconic remains at the forefront of innovation within the organic juice industry.

Sales And Marketing

At Iconic, our primary objective is to enhance our market positioning and customer reach through strategic growth initiatives. Our growth strategy hinges on expanding our physical footprint by establishing a brick-and-mortar location, which serves as a solid base for customer interaction beyond our current mobile setup. Additionally, we aim to deepen our market penetration by diversifying our product flavors and strengthening partnerships with local health and fitness entities, schools, and daycares to foster community engagement and create tailored fundraising opportunities.

Target Audience and Marketing Strategies

Our core target audience includes yoga goers, health enthusiasts, vegans, and families, especially those within the professional sectors such as nurses, doctors, and teachers. The marketing approach for Iconic revolves around connecting with these groups on a level that resonates with their lifestyle and values. We plan to leverage social media platforms and local community events to enhance visibility and engage directly with potential customers. Digital marketing efforts will be focused on creating content that highlights the health benefits of our organic juice products, the eco-friendly aspect of our handcrafted soaps and body butters, and the appealing designs of our branded apparel.

Competitive Edge and Customer Engagement

Iconic is set apart from competitors like Suja, Raw Generation, and others through our exceptional customer service and unique brand experience. We offer individualized name orders and personalized packages, which make our customers feel valued and enhance their overall satisfaction. Transforming our mobile juice bar into an experience akin to an ice cream truck for children further cements our brand in the memories of our young audience. This strategic positioning not only distinguishes us within a crowded market but also builds a loyal customer base that is likely to spread the word about their positive experiences.

In summary, Iconic’s sales and marketing strategy is deeply interwoven with our commitment to customer satisfaction and community involvement. By enhancing our product offerings, strengthening local partnerships, and providing a unique customer experience, we aim to not only meet but exceed the expectations of our market, driving growth and profitability. The requested funding of $90,000 will be pivotal in executing these strategies, focusing on marketing, hiring new staff, and acquiring essential equipment and a juice truck to broaden our operational capabilities and reach.

Funding Request

Iconic, a forward-thinking Maryland-based organic juice LLC established in 2022, is seeking a loan of $90,000 to expand its operations and deepen its market penetration. Our business model encompasses a mobile juice bar offering cold-pressed juices, hand-crafted soaps, body butters, and branded apparel. We cater primarily to a health-conscious clientele including yoga enthusiasts, vegans, and professionals such as nurses and teachers.

Utilization of Funds

The requested funding of $90,000 will be strategically allocated across several critical areas of development:

  • Marketing: To increase brand awareness and customer base through targeted advertising and promotional campaigns.
  • Hiring: To recruit more skilled staff to support our expansion and improve customer service excellence.
  • Equipment: To upgrade our juice production equipment for enhanced efficiency and product quality.
  • Juice Truck: To invest in an additional mobile unit, enhancing our reach and presence across multiple locations.

This investment will enable Iconic to reach under-served markets and increase our footprint, thereby significantly improving our competitive stance against key competitors like the local ice cream trucks, Suja and Raw Generation.

Business Impact and Future Financial Plans

The injection of $90,000 is projected to bring substantial growth, enabling us to open a brick-and-mortar location and expand our product offerings. By partnering with local health and fitness businesses, as well as schools and daycare centers for fundraising opportunities, Iconic plans to solidify its presence in the community and build lasting relationships.

Future financial strategies involve reinvesting profits to further innovation in product development and to expand the operational fleet of mobile units. This approach not only secures a sustainable growth trajectory but also maximizes returns to our sole owner, Shade’ , thus ensuring a steady financial footing for further expansions and investments.

Envision your investment going towards helping the community become more healthy no matter the age, religion, social economic status nor mobility limitations. I am a Mom that has 6 children and have taught for 15 years as a public school teacher before becoming disabled, battling major depression, PTSD, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. I have been a yoga teacher, and juice enthusiast for many years. I took the little strength and hope I had at 430 lbs to regain my confidence through juicing, doing yoga and walking. I got so many compliments and so many people was interested in buying juices, therefore I started selling juices to family and friends and there friends. I went through domestic violence and lived in a hotel for two months while teaching and I knew I had to do something different. So I offered people I knew an opportunity to try my juicing as packaged deals. Then I started going to events and bringing my juicer. Once I sold 1000 worth of juices in one day. This helped me pay bills I didn’t think I could… I knew at that point I had something people, wanted, needed and deserve.

Id like to start with getting a mobile Juice bar set up through a Sprinter Van, which will be about 45,000 with the freezer built in and the windows cut out with marketing on the van. I have two high volume juicers but the plan is to get a higher producing bulk juicing for bottling products which is 12,000

Help During a Difficult Season

After working as a subcontractor for 16 years at the same company, I was told, with no notice, that my hours would be significantly reduced, cutting my income by $1,800 a month and would start the next day. I can’t quit until I have something else. I used all our available money, including our savings, to ensure that we could cover all of our bills and stay afloat for a couple of months. However, things have become increasingly difficult. Rising health insurance premiums, combined with the lack of funds, have pushed us dangerously close to being unable to pay rent or cover necessities. On top of that, I am facing serious health challenges. I was scheduled to have surgery for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) that I had to cancel. I can’t afford to pay the $2500 deductible. Just three years ago, I had my kidney removed due to a 12-centimeter tumor, and now I have a tumor on my adrenal gland. The financial strain has made it impossible to afford to take the time off for surgery or to cover the medical expenses associated with it. To make matters even harder, my husband is retired after suffering two strokes, which limits his ability to contribute financially. He does bring home social security, but it is from retiring early. It is not much. This past holiday season, we didn’t celebrate Christmas due to our situation and decided to return all of the gifts we purchased for us and our son, and I now feel like I’m barely holding on, as if I’m hanging onto the edge of a cliff by my fingertips.

Who am I in this world to decide the perfect time to ask for help, especially when it comes to money? We have no family here, and we have only been in this new state for six months, struggling just to keep our heads above water. I have spent my entire life working, and now I cannot even afford the groceries we need to make it through the week. It is never an easy choice to ask someone for financial help. Reaching out in moments like this feels so vulnerable, and it is hard to figure out the right time to seek support when the need feels so pressing and overwhelming. I just am trying to keep faith. paypal.me/aprilhamilton1664

Sow a seed to elevate humanity!

Greetings,

I have a dream of living in a world filled with love, connection, passion, empowerment, and joy!!!

To turn this vision into a reality, when I was laid off June 2024, I decided that it would be awesome to use my energy and innate gifts to create this, so I formed an LLC.

In this business my goal is to teach others what I’ve learned about spirituality and living one’s most content (hApPy and satisfying) life.  I believe that meditation is the key to one allowing awareness of one’s inner resources to unleash the qualities I desire to see in the world; it is also my sweet spot where I receive incredible satisfaction from introducing others to their inner or spiritual being.

It would be awesome to be able to solely focus on building momentum around introducing one million people to their inner being and unleash agape, unconditional love for oneself and others, pure connection with each other and the Earth, passion for simply living, empowerment from being one’s authentic self and unbridled joy for life and being alive.

Every dream takes resources to be realized.

Will you sow a seed and support my mission?

Help To Get Back On Track After A Car Accident

In 2018 I was in a severe car accident that has lead to many medical issues and surgeries through out the years.  Medical bills piled up and no matter how hard I worked nothing is getting me ahead.  I took out loans to pay bills that I now can’t afford and barely making ends meet.

Then over Christmas my vehicle died and now I am having trouble getting a car with bad credit due to all the medical bills that I have accumulated.

I am just looking for someone to help me with the $15,000 that I have swirling around my head.  At 56 years old I never expected all of this to be happening.  I work a 45 hour a week job but still living paycheck to paycheck with no extra.

I am a very hard-working woman.
Since I arrived in this beautiful country (1999)
I have worked non-stop.
After 5 spontaneous abortions and a lot of physical and emotional
pain, despite all the doctors who told me I couldn't have children,
I succeeded. With a lot of effort, I later realized that the father
of my son (my legal husband) had other's women's.
When my son was a little over a year old, I divorced him.
He was a freeloader. He lived off my job.
I worked in a mall, I was a waitress and a bartender
in my few free moments, and he lived off my job. I didn't see
the truth of the situation until long after he left.
He returned to his country and I stayed here with my baby.
He left here countless debts, since he liked to waste money
and all the debts, the cards and bank and car loans
were in my name, since I had better credit than him,
He fled the country for not paying the debts
and for not taking care of his son, since then I have worked
in anything from cleaning houses, making bracelets,
delivering food, delivering groceries, distributing directories
and whatever there was to survive, I had to live with a rented
room in the house where we lived and those people robbed me,
and took advantage of my kindness and good heart,
after 12 years they kicked me out of the house because
I could not pay the rent, then I took a small and cheap
apartment but we have lived here for 4 years but they have
raised it so much that I can not pay it either, I am behind
I have worked for Uber and Lyft for more than 10 years,
3 cars have broken down for doing this job, and each debt to get another one has had to be mounted on the debt of the car that follows and so I have accumulated so much debt that the car today is valued at 15,000.00 dollars and I owe more than 50,000.00 dollars, the car has a bad air conditioning, I cannot repair it, it has more than 130,000 miles and several things need to be repaired, and I can't and my credit cards are full because I made some repairs to the car with them and when I don't have enough money I have to use them for gasoline and car oil,
Today 1/07/2025, they say that I cannot work with Lyft
and soon with Uber as well for two reasons 1. the car is from 2019 and they here in this state do not accept cars that are more than 5 years old and they also want the drivers We pay for commercial insurance so we can work and the cost is more than 700.00 dollars per month.
My son now wants to go to college in the fall
and I hope they give us financial aid for his studies.
Please I need help, I don't
know how I'm going to survive next February.
If any of you can help me, I'll be forever grateful.

Grace Running Out?

Subject: Request for Financial Assistance to Prevent Eviction

  • Beloved Philanthropist,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is  Gerard Postwaite, and I am reaching out with a heartfelt request for assistance during an extraordinarily challenging time in my life.

This past year has brought a series of setbacks that have placed me in dire financial straits. My car broke down, I lost my job at Walgreens, and I am now on the verge of eviction. I understand that where I am today is the result of the decisions I’ve made, a little bit of luck—both good and bad—and the grace of God.

Recently, on January 6, I celebrated my 50th birthday. While I am grateful for the blessing of reaching this milestone, it has also reinforced my determination to overcome these challenges and build a better future.

Currently, I am receiving unemployment benefits, but a portion is withheld for child support, leaving me with limited resources to cover essential living expenses. Compounding this, the lack of a vehicle has nearly destroyed my ability to maintain my biweekly visitation with my daughter, which has been emotionally devastating for both of us.

Despite these obstacles, I remain ready, willing, and able to work. Prior to my time at Walgreens, I had already fallen behind on rent due to my initial car troubles. Since then, I have been blessed by the grace and patience of my landlord, Mr. Nick Harris, who has worked with me through these difficulties. However, the financial burden has become overwhelming, and I now owe $7,101 in rent and $2,021 in overdue utilities.

I am humbly asking for your support to cover these critical expenses so that I can stabilize my living situation, maintain my relationship with my daughter, and focus on rebuilding my life. With your assistance, I would have the opportunity to remain in my home, seek employment, and work toward regaining financial independence.

I deeply appreciate your time and consideration of my request. If you would like more information or documentation, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Gerard S Postwaite.                   gspostwaite@gmail.com.         585 775 3471.                               $GerardPostwaite

Thank you for your generosity and compassion.

Sincerely,
Gerard S Postwaite

Urgent Funding for Living Expenses $15,000.00

I have retired several years ago after 40 years as an Energy Management In Engineering.  Yearly, the cost of living has exceeded
my retirement I receive monthly. As a result, as a seasoned citizen, age 75 years young, I am not able to  maintain my monthly obligations.
Literally, I am drowning to maintain four months of back  rent, utilities, food, car payments and insurance. I have fallen behind and on the
verge of being put out my house.
I have health challenges, and not able to maintain my prescriptions. I live in a state that is not kind or  sensitive to the needs of seniors.
Due to my limited funds, my Medicare has lapsed. I am not able to maintain my insulin asthma, and high blood medications. This has been a serious
struggle on my limited income.
Currently, in ministry, I serve the homeless by delivering food to the food bank. This will stop abruptly, due to the fact I have no insurance,
nor can I pay my car note (now several months behind and due for car repossession). I also drive children from one state to another for their
appointments at Shriners hospital throughout  the month.
I also drive seniors to their doctors appointments as well as to the grocery store, church, or were ever they need to go. I do not want to lose my
home that I rent, my car or car insurance.
I have reached out to many organizations ( including ministries, that all have limited funds) from Social Services to United Way, Salvation Army
and other referred organizations.  Due to the lack of funds to go around, these organizations are not able to assist me.
Over the years, I have contributed or donated to many of these funds. I am not able to get any assistance for my needs.
It is very hard to do so but I must. This is an urgent clarion call for help to receive $15,000.00 as soon a possible.
Thank you for your kindness in addressing my immediate needs.

EMERGENCY HOUSING NEEDED FOR SENIOR REQUESTING $20,000.00

I am a 70 year old retired senior who thru no fought of my own am now “homeless”:. Recently, I went home to Ohio, to spend time with my mother before she passed away. Though it was a financial struggle, I am thankful to God I went. There is no words for being with her during her transition.

Upon my return, during the “September /October Storms”, I was assisting displaced families find emergency housing. I am a  volunteer “Mental Health Coach” in ministry, who leads others to their needs.

What I do for others, I am now in the same situation. In the midst of this, my pipes burst. From the sewage and mold, I lost everything except some clothing. For 2 months now,  I have been homeless living in two different hotels.

Two different churches have helped me, one for 9 days, my church for 5 days. The need is so great, both ministries could not help me any longer.

I have been blessed to be helped very short term from pastors, their ministries, friends and family. All my family are not in my state and do not have the room to take me in.

I have contacted every housing organization I have researched or  given to me for follow-up.

Such as Section 8 housing (waiting list) and local emergency rental assistance programs. Due to the winter months, housing help is very limited.

There are no empty shelters that I can stay in for the long term. All contacted, you must be out by morning.  I am not in a position to keep moving around! Now, I am without transportation.

The hotel I am in has a daily struggle to gather the money before 11am. They put people out on the street.

*Though I am a woman of faith, I must find immediate stable housing  asap. Therefore, I am requesting $20,000.00, I am grateful for whatever help I can receive; to acquire low income for housing food, furniture, kitchen items and clothing.  I am a giver and it is very hard for me to ask for anything. I am looking for a hand up, so I can continue to help others as I help myself.*

Hysterectomy gone terribly wrong for Misti Ewald

My wife of 31yrs had a hysterectomy on the morning of March 25th, 2024 and by that evening was being flown to another hospital to save her life. She was bleeding internally from where the doctor didn’t seal what she cut to take her ovaries and everything out. She was on dialysis prior to this surgery but had 60% kidney function still. After the surgery her kidneys shut down completely. She tried so very hard to get better but started getting bad kidney infections in August and couldn’t recover from it. Her body was just so tired and failing her so much.  She lost her fight January 4th, 2025 leaving behind our son and I. Last year we tried to get life insurance on us and couldn’t get it on her because of her only being 49. So now I’m trying to keep our home and pay for her funeral services out of pocket. I would never ask for help, but I have no choice at this point. My wife was my everything and I’m finding it harder and harder to keep going without her. Before her surgery she was driving and living life, then after she just couldn’t overcome it. It’s going to take around $25,000.00 to get our mortgage caught up and to pay for her funeral and I’m working every day and just not making a dent in it. I’m just able to just keep the lights on and keep food on the table for my son and I at this point. My PayPal.me/truckerchuck is how to make the donation. God bless you all and thank you

Help Needed After Help Given

Peace and blessings to whosoever have the power to help us and do so. My name is Lionell Ephraim. I am 65 years of age. My wife, who is the same age and retired, has serious health issues and we both live on fixed incomes. A few months ago we were compelled by a family emergency to move out of our small, affordable apartment in order to secure a more spacious house to provide a safe haven for her daughter (my step-daughter) and her two young grand-daughters. Because of the sensitive and fluid nature of the family emergency I choose to keep the names of my step-daughter, her husband and two children undisclosed. However, in order for you to fully understand our predicament, I think its critical to explain the details of the family emergency.

My step-daughter is in the military. In March of 2024, while she was stationed in New Hampshire, her husband, who was living here in Virginia with their two daughters (ages 2 and 8), threatened to kill himself and their two daughters during a phone call. My step-daughter immediately called the police and her mother. My wife in turn called me, because although my wife and I live about 200 miles from her daughter’s apartment, I happened to be in the area of her apartment at that time. My wife frantically informed me of the death threat against our grand-daughters and asked me to meet the police at the apartment to take custody of them and bring them back to our home with me. I quickly made it to the apartment and communicated with the police until they were finally able to gain entry, arrest the husband, and allowed me to take my grand-daughters in my arms to comfort them and bring them safely with me home to their grandmother.

In short, my step-daughter was granted leave. Understandably, she and our grand-daughters needed to live with my wife and I until she sorted things out. However, our apartment was just too small with just one bathroom to accommodate our private and personal needs. So we searched and found a larger house with two bathrooms. However, the rent ($1,400 a month) in the larger house was double the cost of our smaller apartment. But we were willing to bear the cost and uproot ourselves in order to protect our grand-daughters and give them time to heal from such a traumatic experience. Although my step-daughter was receiving military pay every two weeks she claimed she could not help us with the deposit, the rent, nor any of our bills because she needed the money to relocate. She convinced us that she would not reconcile with her husband and could not live in their previous apartment again because she feared her husband would return there after he was released from police custody.

Shockingly, we discovered that my step-daughter’s husband had been released from the psychiatric ward and she had been seeing him and spending money on hotels to be with him while living with us for almost 3 months, free of charge. We were furious that she had put us through rearranging our lives and moving into a place we could not afford just to go back to a man who had threatened the lives of her children. When I confronted her she refused to talk about it, and I realized that she had used us and was planning all along to get back with her husband and move back into the same apartment.

In the end, we spent all of our savings paying the much higher rent and bills in an effort to help my step-daughter and our grand-daughters. And she lied about her ability to help with the financial burden of moving, when we only moved to help her and our grand-daughters. Now they are back together and my wife and I are stuck in a house we can no longer afford, and are now facing eviction in 10 days if we do not come up with back rent totaling over $2,400. My step-daughter knows we are facing eviction and still offers no help. I will hold my judgment against her for now. Right now, my focus is on not becoming homeless.

Please help if its in your power to do so. We are elderly and have no family to whom we can turn. I am providing my landlord’s info and my PayPal info. Thank you so much for listening, and helping if you can.

Sincerely,

Lionell Ephraim – (757) 272-5776

To Make A Wrong Go Right

I need $9,144.04 for an auto insurance claim. I had a minor accident in another person’s car that I had borrowed. They are going to be sued for that amount unless I can come up with a way to pay for the damages of the car I damaged. I have been homeless for 2 years and I don’t have a steady income to pay this. I feel terrible that I have created this hardship and unnecessary grief for someone else that doesn’t deserve it. I am responsible for this and I feel defeated in making this right.

You must be asking yourself, why should you help me? And I say because I’m human and I made a mistake. I am not asking for myself personally for a debt that I have incurred, but I am asking for an accident that I had, which caused someone else to have this hardship happen in their life all of a sudden… because they helped me. And because they trusted me. And I failed them, and I need to make this right.

I know $9,144.04 is not a small amount, and I wish I had the means to fix this myself. However, being homeless and struggling to find stable work has made it almost impossible to come up with any portion of this money on my own. This situation weighs heavily on me, and every day I think about how I’ve let down someone who was kind enough to lend me their car. It’s a constant reminder of how a moment can change everything.

I am determined to make amends for my mistake. I’ve explored every option I can think of, but I’ve realized I can’t do this alone. This is why I’m reaching out and asking for help. Your generosity could not only help me make this right but also give relief to the person who trusted me and is now facing a financial burden they don’t deserve.

Every little bit counts, and your kindness can help repair not just the damage to the car but also the trust and peace of mind that was lost in this process. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and consider helping me. Your support would mean the world to me and to the person I owe this debt to. Thank you for believing in second chances.
