Over the past few months, I have faced some challenges which greatly weighs me down, unexpected medical expenses, job loss, inability to pay my rent, which have significantly impacted my income. Battling the Storm: A Struggle of Sacrifice, and Resilience

the year 2020, my stepdad, John, injured his arm at work. It was a devastating blow for him, not just physically but also emotionally. He had always been the breadwinner of the family, and now he felt like he had let my mom down.

As the days went by, John’s physical pain turned into a deep depression. Unable to cope with his feelings of failure, he turned to alcohol as a means of escape. He drowned his sorrows day after day, until one fateful morning when he woke my mom up and pleaded to be taken to the hospital. He realized that something was seriously wrong with him.

Panicked, my mom immediately called for an ambulance. When she left the hospital that night, John seemed fine and responsive, giving her hope that things would be okay. He promised to call her the next day around noon, but when she tried to reach him, his phone was off. Frantic, my mom called the hospital, only to be informed that she needed to go there immediately.

When my mom arrived at the hospital, she was devastated to find John unresponsive. The doctors informed her that he had suffered brain damage and was now in a coma. The next month became a blur of fear and uncertainty as we watched helplessly, hoping for a miracle.

During this time, I became acutely aware of her financial situation. My mom relied on social security for income, and it was barely enough to cover her basic needs. Determined to make sure she wouldn’t have to worry about finances, I made a bold decision. I decided to buy a house for both of us, even though I knew nothing about the process.

Working with a realtor, I emphasized that I needed a home that required minimal work. We closed on a house that seemed promising, but my naivety soon caught up with me. The insurance company refused to cover the home because it needed a new roof, which the realtor had failed to disclose. The repairs would cost nearly $10,000. As if that wasn’t enough, the chimney was also deteriorating and sinking, requiring an additional $5,000.

With my limited knowledge of escrow, I found myself in a financial nightmare. In 2022, I lost my job and struggled to find something comparable. My escrow payments skyrocketed to nearly $1,000 a month, making it nearly impossible to keep up with the mortgage. I fell behind on payments, managed to catch up briefly, but the increasing escrow kept pushing me further into debt.

Desperate to make ends meet, I took on odd jobs during the day and worked as a doordasher and process server in the evenings. Despite my best efforts, I fell behind on my mortgage payments again. The stress of potentially losing our home weighed heavily on me, but I couldn’t burden my mom, who was already dealing with her own health issues.

With my credit ruined and no viable options, I felt trapped. Selling the house seemed pointless, as the cost of renting in Chattanooga was just as high, if not higher. I didn’t want to uproot my mom and risk leaving her homeless. Every day is becoming a constant struggle, and I feel like I am drowning in a sea of financial despair.

In this moment of desperation, any form of assistance, no matter how small, would be a lifeline. Having the repairs done would let me get a cheaper insurance premium. Cancer Survivor Requesting Help With Medical Bills

Greetings!

My name is Arlene, and I am a 65-year-old two-time breast cancer survivor. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and underwent surgery and radiation therapy. Thankfully, I went into remission. However, in 2022, my cancer returned. I underwent two more surgeries, and I am currently in remission once again.

I am grateful for my life and for the second chance I have been given. However, the cost of my medical treatment has been a significant financial burden. I am currently on a fixed income and am struggling to pay my medical bills.

Funeral expenses and memorial

My husband died suddenly the day after Christmas 2021.

I need help with the rest of funeral costs and maybe buy a headstone.

Finding Hope During Hardship

I hope this message finds you well and in high spirits. 

I want to reach out to you today with a request that is both humbling and essential. I am not one to easily ask for help, but I have exhausted all other options, and I currently find myself in a situation where I need assistance. 

 Life has a way of presenting unexpected challenges and over the past year, circumstances beyond my control have led to a financial crisis that I am struggling to overcome. .My name is Leslie Canales and I’m here to beg for help. Yesterday my electricity got shut off and my remaining family can’t help me right now due to expenses of my aunt’s recent funeral. I need a minimum of $339 for the reconnect fee, ASAP. All the food in my refrigerator will spoil otherwise. Why? Simple, the bill and apartment lease is in my mother’s name and she passed away 3 years ago. HRA won’t help me pay it until it’s in my name. Why does everyone hate that word?
Everyone except me, lol.

Hi, my name is Jase, 56, female.
I’m not asking money for anything you haven’t heard before.
When I was 7ish, a neighborhood boy threw a 1 lb rock at my face/mouth because I wouldn’t let him have my swing.
He broke my 2 top teeth clean in half.
Ever since, I have endured years of repairs that have caused even more damage,
and has cost me thousands and thousands of out of pocket expenses.
I lived with my G’s after my Dad was killed by a drunk driver in 1974, and they didn’t have the finances to go to a good dentist, so us kids had to go to the trailer behind the school for dental/medical care.
We were guinea pigs for the so called medical experts, and my back teeth were further ruined by shoddy work and bad fillings.
Between the years of 1996 and 2005, each and every molar on my bottom jaw had to be pulled, leaving me only my front teeth to chew with.
Soooo, over the years, the front teeth dental work from when I was 7 had broke and chipped so many times, that my dentist suggested crowns.
It was the biggest regret of  my life to let him grind most of my remaining top teeth down and affix (HA!) the crowns.
(For some reason, the dentist decided on a left side and right side crown, and not a full one.)
The left side has fallen off 3 times now.
He said if it happens again, there is no more original teeth to fasten the crown to, and there’s nothing they can do.
My crowns are uneven, and there’s a very visible gap.
So for the past almost 2 years, I’ve been chewing only on my right side front teeth.
Well, 6 months ago, a right side molar cracked and broke off,
and now food gets stuck in that crack/gap, and the pain is EXCURTIATING.
I have to pick my tooth out with every.single.bite.
I have gone into a deep depression because of my situation.
I don’t date, I try not to smile or laugh unless I cover my mouth.
I never ask for anything…I’ve been independent most my life, even when I got married, (not a love story, but I had 2 beautiful boys.)
But I’m asking for this.
Anyways, I just want some new teeth, I want to laugh, smile, have confidence, EAT, CHEW, ENJOY food again.
Something I haven’t done in decades.
I NEED to feel better about myself.
I honestly cannot remember the last time I bit directly into anything with my front teeth, and not have to tear things into pieces and chew with 3 teeth on the right side.
I would love some implants, but it’s been so long that my jaw may not be able to handle the surgery.

i was asking for dome funds to help me to get a boost in life. i have a good head on my shoulders i have graduated college with a presidential awards meaning i graduated with a 4.0 and never missed a day. i did get financial aid but was still left to pay off the rest. Let me backup a little letting you know that i was a russian refugee that came to the US, Colorado specifically in 1994 which would of made me 5 at the time. i grew up with my grandparents and a mentally challenged mother. I dont want to use that as an excuse but bottom line it had made it difficult to get a good push start in life. Especially now with my grandparents getting closer to the end being the only one that speaks the English language and having to spend nights in the hospital whenever one or the other ends up getting hospitalized. I know of my sperm donor of a father but hes been out of the picture my whole life. I truly dont like being negative and using these as excuses to get money. But if you would be kind enough to give me tha start that most of the american kids get that grew up with a what you would call a normal family, or normal enough i guess. Dont get me wrong i love my family and wouldnt change them for anyone but sometimes dreams do come across the mind.

Anyway i do have a bunch of ideas for example in college (Redstone Aviation College) going thru the main electronic classes. My notebooks would be full of ideas of inventions. For instance before the wireless chargers came out i swear i had drawings of it in my notebook 2 years before the thought even came and then i notice commercials for it. Wishing i had the funds to sponsor such an idea i would of been a millionaire by now. Like i was saying i do have a good head on my shoulders and if i had a little boost financially i could get going further then ever in life. i do work but with time being limited having to take care of my grandparents and my mother . So it would be awesome if i could get something going online to make passive income. With all the research on making money online seems like you need some extra funds in my account either way which i dont have at the moment.

Alls im asking is for a little help to get over this hump of the rat race and barely making it paycheck to paycheck, pay back my tuition and what i owe credit wise, a drivable vehicle and some money to get started in making money passively and possibly some funds for some of these inventions and apps i had in mind. Desperate single mother

Hello, I am a single mother of five, desperately seeking help. Last October we had an electrical fire in our home and had to move right away due to the damage. Our landlord was not keeping up the maintenance on the property and we had a bunch of issues with the apartment. Me and my children stayed with family in the interim but it was toxic and stressful. I found us a new place but the rent was pretty steep. In my determination to keep my place for the past year, I have been borrowing from my 401k, taking out loans, and using my credits to pay my bills. This has in turn gotten me deeper into debt. I have a full-time job working from home but it has not been enough to cover my rent and utilities and now my light and gas are about to get shut off. I am already on payment plans but I cannot keep up. I am in the midst of looking for a second job, but the only overnight work I can find is too far for me to travel to by public transportation. This would require me to get my car fixed which has been in need of work since the fall of last year. African sisters in distress need your help with medical bills

Marianne and Naomie are two sisters from the Democratic Republic of Congo that were born with congenital diseases that are not treatable yet in Africa. Marianne  on the left was born in 2003 and started developing osteoporosis at the age of five, she also has symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and progressive vitiligo. Doctors in the Congo prescribed her some medicine which never seem to help long term. Naomie  on the right,  was born in 2004 and diagnosed with developmental delays due to a possible brain injury that may have occurred at birth when she was dropped as a baby. She is very smart and creative however learns things very slowly and cannot thrive in Africa because of lack of tools and medication.
